I chose to ignore the negative reviews and purchased this 1 year ago and I deeply regret it. I had several older Fujitsu scanners in the past, including purchasing 10 ix500's for the office. The ix500 was a great scanner, rarely mis-fed or double-triple fed documents. The ix1500 is the worst scanner I've ever owned. Guaranteed to mis-feed documents as much as correctly feed them. I literally must fan the documents to be scanned and arrange them in a a tier so they will feed at least 1/2 the time. I consider this a waste of $400. Don't bother with the whining about cleaning rollers or other maintenance, it just does not work. Another good product ruined by 'upgrades'. The software has become an incredibly bloated mess itself. Huge downloads, a Windows95 interface and configuration headaches just to save a document to your desktop computer. I have no use for scanning wirelessly or cloud features. I just had 3 documents to scan, and the only 2-pager took 3 tries after double feeding it twice, hence this review. JUNK, I'll be buying something else from now on.

What I like is the speed with which it processes data -- and that's all! I had a Neat Scanner. Worked fine until it word out with age. To replace it, I have to rent the program every year. Highway robbery. I thought I was purchasing an up-to-date scanner that could do everything as easily as the NEAT. Not so! For example today I tried to convert a document from my computer through Scan Snap to a .jpg. I had to print the document, press a lot of extra buttons, make several selections before I got to the .jpg I needed. I am beginning to understand why others scored this scanner so low. I don't know yet what else is going to slow me down, but just the fact that I can't pull a document from my computer for conversion is painful enough.

Was using an HP All-in-One to scan my business records in. I've put thousands of documents through it, but after two years of constant use, it is starting to jam on a regular basis. This new Fujitsu Scanner was purchased to replace that function. It is faster, quieter, and once I got the settings just right, I am very pleased with the results. I bought this scanner based on the positive reviews of others. They did not steer me the wrong way. I recommend this scanner for anyone that has to do a lot of scanning. I've only had it for about a month, so it's just an initial review.

I've been using this for about an hour now, upgrading from an old Dell multi function printer/scanner. Wow is this thing fast! At this point I've probably only put about 100 pages through it, but so far the sheet feeder seems to work quite well. The scan quality is very nice and OCR works quite well. I sent through a stack of documents with envelopes in-between, and it automatically rotated the envelopes so the text was oriented horizontally in the resulting scan. The initial setup took a bit as there was a new firmware that took 15 minutes to install, but once setup operation is so far seamless (connected via USB). I even scanned a doc that was a couple of feet long and it went through just fine (switch to manual mode which is 2 screen touches). After OCR on the scanned docs, you can search them using the ScanSnap Home software (or using Adobe Acrobat reader if you wish). Overall my first impression is that the software seems to be well thought out and functional, and as a package it operates very smoothly, a very welcome upgrade to the clunky old Dell MFP.
Edit --> Quick follow up after having it installed for a little while, deducting one star for this. I changed the home directory to a directory tree with roughly 5000 documents in it (scanned by my previous scanner), and that drastically slows down the opening of the app. It's 30 seconds or a minute before you can scan. I'm on a 12 core processor with 32GB RAM and SSD drives, and the unit is plugged to a USB 3 port so it's not a processing power or bus speed issue. Changing the home directory to an empty subdirectory makes it fast again, but now your scans go into a subdirectory.

For some reason this thing couldn't find my wifi, even in the same room as the router, nor could my computers 'see' it, even when connected to it by wire. Since it has no option for USB, you have to use it wirelessly or by the cord, so USELESS!!! It went back. The software was spare at best and no help whatsoever. Bought a Brother and it works great. ALSO SUPPORTS USB IF ALL ELSE FAILS!!!

I am as paperless as I can be at home and in our business. The "regular" scanner I had was making it hard to keep up and I finally broke down and ordered this for business. I was so behind on my scanning [on some things by a few months and a few things by a whole year] but within a month I was caught up on everything. I didn't think it was possible, but I ordered one from home because the time and effort it saves me it more than worth it. To be fair, I also work from home so it gets more use that just a standard home use but I think even if I didn't I would still have one at home. It makes staying paperless almost effortless!

I had a Scansnap 1500M for years. I loved it. With the release of Mac 10.15 Catalina, the driver for the old scanner was no longer compatible, so I upgraded to the Scansnap IX1500. The software is a nightmare. Keeps sending my private documents to Fujitsu thinking I am registering the software. I scanned a legal document that should be very private and this idiotic piece of junk sent it off to Fujitsu. . . I would avoid this scanner. . .

Got my Scansnap on August 11, 2019, and used it for about 3 months, and then it has started to malfunction. Error message saying that it's not connected to the device. Meanwhile, I am using the exact same computer the whole time. I tried calling Customer Support with Fujitsu. Good luck with that venture. You can't even hold on the phone for them. You simply leave a phone number. This product has plummeted in terms of quality. My last Scansnap was excellent. I had it for over 10 years, and I loved it, but this new one has really tumbled in terms of quality.

Set up was simple, open box, place on counter, plug in. Used a combo fax/copier/scanner for 10 years, was used to the slow processing. OMG this is amazingly fast and dumps straight to my scan file, even tries to name it so it's easier to locate. Absolutely fantastic, wish we hadn't waited so long. We run a small accounting firm out of our home and this just made my life so much simpler!

This is my fourth purchase of the Fujitsu scansnap starting with the original, then two of the ix500 500, then this Ix1500. Every single one of the four is still operational. I passed them along as I upgrade. There are so many good things to say about these Fujitsu scansnaps. Paper jamz are exceptionally rare and when I do experience them very easy to clear out. Interface and software is excellent. The few times I've had problems over the past I've been able to reach tech support almost immediately and have the problem solved. These scanners have become a mainstay of our business as we've been converting all of our paper into digital files.

I upgraded from my workhorse IX500 and based on the current firmware that wasn't a good move.
While the IX1500 is much easier to configure thatn the IX500, day-to-day it's more difficult to operate:
(1) Single-button cloud scans have now become two-button scans (you have to press "OK") to acknowledge the document has been saved
(2) Single-button-long-press (long document) scans have now become six-button scans: they still work, but you have to change the scan mode to manual, scan, acknowledge, then change back
It kind of makes you wonder whether the IX1500 firmware was designed by a different team.
I think it does have the potential to be a great scanner, given the hardware. But the firmware would have to be fixed as follows:
(1) Remove the annoying delays and acknowledgments
(2) Buffer stuff and retransmit when the destination is available (I'm happy to put it on a UPS)
(3) Introduce a single-button long document scan
(4) Optionally, pay for the Paperport patent and introduce scan-on-insertion
I will add one star back for each feature if and when it arrives.

What a disappointment. I am returning my scanner after realizing the software that comes with the ix1500 appears to be written completely differently than what I was using with the ix500. As someone else mentioned, it appears to be written by another team of programmers. I find it more cumbersome and not as user-friendly. I also didn't see anywhere where I could quickly include a scanned document into an email. That is one of the most important features of owning one of these so I could quickly pass on documents to others by email. I used to to this with a fax machine but who now owns a fax machine? But the number two reason I wouldn't recommend this to current ix500 users is the laborious process to import your old pdf library of scans into this machine's software environment. It was not an easy process and it took in excess of 24 hours of processing. In fact in my case it is still processing. I was thinking that the new software would immediately recognize my old ScanSnap file system. Not the case. It apparently has to one-by-one process the documents. If you are going to do this be sure to allow yourself one whole day of getting this thing up to speed. And then after that you will find the software appears to be a dumbing-down of what you were used to. Again, like someone else commented, this is not the ix500 upgrade you might have been anticipating. That is what I thought is was and was very disappointed. Now I have to go back and set up my ix500 and reinstall the old software. I just hope I can do this.

Worth the money for what I was looking for. I scan A LOT. I am going paperless personally, and I have a lot of paperwork come through my office for my job (Well-site supervisor in the oil patch in Canada). The different profiles you can set up on the screen are extremely handy and make scanning to different places and folders a breeze. Completely happy with my purchase. Would definitely buy again.

The Fujitsu iX1500 was recommended to us by our document management service provider and, well, it's a really great scanner! It takes on practically all the paper I can throw at it! Old patient charts with frayed edges, mixed paper styles, mixed sizes of paper... it all goes through at about 30 double sided pages per minute (with only a few minor exceptions (nothing is 100% perfect!!!). This scanner is worth every penny!!!

benefits - Very fast and helpful - I've had a scansnap for 15 years - this one tries to label your incoming scans which is good
problems - the wireless function is intermittent - I find I have to just plug it into the usb port for it to work more often than not.
-** I spent hours on setup finally realizing that it does not accept certain usb ports - on my computer it only works on the usb 3 port, not the usb 2 port - if you have problems try a different port.
overall, I would still buy this again.

I have used past models and you could scan an item and there was a print option right from the scanner which saved a lot of time if you needed an additional copy right away. Unless it's there and I just haven't found it on this model, you must scan, save the file, and then open the file and print a copy from your computer. The tray at the bottom to catch the copies as they are scanned seems very flimsy compared to past models and I can see it breaking off in no time if you are not careful. it does the job, I'm neutral on this revised model.

This little scanner is HUGE on perks and capabilities and speed. I LOVE this thing for my office. It's the best investment I ever made. This scanner is making me so happy with getting my file cabinet empty in no time at all. This thing can scan up to 40 pages in the feeder and scan them 2 sided in less than 30 seconds. WOW !! Impressive or what. I have completed 6 bankers boxes full of documents this weekend. This is a Life changer for me. I will have a paperless office in less than a week. I can't believe how something so small can make such a LARGE IMPACT on my workload. Thank you so much FUJITSU . This is worth every dollar for this beauty.

Le scanneur ultime! Il m’a sauvé beaucoup de temps. 1500 pages scannées en quelques heures... Scan Snap Home (l’interface logiciel) est vraiment bien fait. Fujitsu donne accès au logiciel de reconnaissance Abby y. Il permet de transformer un pdf en excel et word entre autre. Extraordinaire! J’ai sauvé beaucoup de temps. J’ai scanné des colonnes de chiffres qui ont été convertie dans Excel.

Very good product for a wireless Mac environment. Too bad the company did not provide user friendly instructions and better customer support. This is my second Fujitsu scanner in the last 8 years. Once you finally get it setup it is rock solid. I would have rated it as a 5 star product if it were not for the poor user instructions and customer support.

A bit pricey although very functional scanner, amazingly fast and reliable with adjustable thickness, kept scanning when I forgot to remove the staple pins a few times, took a research to figure out how to scan long shopping receipts , otherwise easy to use on the use,

This scanner is really fast and easy to install. I set it up wirelessly, had to hook it up with USB to install but then works wirelessly no problem. Can set up different users, which is great. Love the Fujitsu scanners they are the best. Last one lasted 12 years, still works but can't update the software anymore.

The scanner itself is fantastic. It scans everything super fast and accurately. The software, however, could be better. Sometimes groups of pages are scanned in one file, other times they are in separate files. Also, if you rename a file without moving it to your desktop for example, it will not open again within the software. I've had to rescan items because of this glitch. Once you get used to these few small issues, the whole operation works great.

I've been using the Fujitsu Scansnap for years and these scanners are a work horse! I just re-purchased a new one and the quality is even more amazing especially with the wireless scanning feature. It's fast, simple and easy to use. I would recommend this scanner to anyone wants a scanner that is efficient and gets the job done!

The Fujitsu iX1500 Document Scanner is very easy to use and produces excellent images into my MacBook Air. I particularly appreciate the automatic document feeder rather than having to place each paper for scanning individually on a screen.

yes it does scan super fast but then emailing the file or saving it is not as easy as the previous model. Does not make your scanning easier, took me a while to figure out installation. will probably return it.
