I was looking to replace my old Epson P2000 printer with something that could produce at least as high quality print as that one, and was advised by Epson that this printer would do the job, after looking around at all different brands and their specs. I ordered this one on faith, and when it arrived I was quick to put it through its paces. I was astounded at its even higher quality print capabilities, greater speed, as well as other features that made it even better than my old one. It does an excellent job, and was even less expensive than my original P2000 Epson, so it was a win all around. Its multiple individual color cartridges make it easy to replace only the color depleted, its paper feed even discerns when a different type of paper is inserted from the one you programmed it for and will not proceed until you have reset it, its paper feed is unerring, always taking only a single sheet at a time, a low color cartridge alert warns you of exactly which color is soon needing replacement, and it is overall a very attractively styled printer.I strongly recommend this printer to anyone needing high quality color printing. It prints on oversize paper, banners, as well as standard size paper, and using Presentation Matte paper by Epson I get phenomenal color prints. A five star product all the way!

I bought this printer to force myself to get into actually printing out and displaying some of my pics. Have been fortunate to travel to a lot of places but the pics mostly sit on my hard drive. I previously bought another brand of photo printer and it was a disaster so I lost interest.I found setup to be quite easy. I already had the Epson 845 so the software nosed around and found the internet connection by itself. Like the 845 it has been rock solid in holding the wireless connection.I've been experimenting by printing out 4x6's and playing with the various settings. I haven't had any of the alignment problems I had with the previous printer I bought ....thank goodness. I don't think the ink usage is that bad.Pic quality is quite nice. Still learning to tune the colors. I think the glossy surface looks good.I have several panoramas I took a few weeks ago up in the Tetons including one at dawn. Looking forward to using the roll function and see how it looks on my wall.I spent quite a bit of time researching printers on the internet before I picked the R2000. One of the few that had very consistent positive reviews. I can see why. Very happy so far and I recommend it for an easy to use, high quality, mid-level printer.Note: do read the color management guide. It is key to properly understanding/managing how the printer handles your pic.

I am an artist who sells prints of colored pencil drawings. I was paying a company to make prints for me, but it became clear that I could justify buying a nice printer of my own. The R2000 works well with rich vibrant colors. I print small prints and greeting cards on it and my customers love them. I love that the inks are rated to last a very long time. The printer is very easy to use with Photoshop and downloadable ICC profiles for different papers. My only problem has been with the sheet feeder in the back of the printer. It is quite difficult to get the paper to feed correctly. I usually end up making the printer use the normal sheet feeder for thicker paper and it works fine. But if I had a really thick sheet of media, I would not be pleased - the back feeder is very picky.I use higher end giclee printers at my day job and this little guy does just as well. I have to tweak things a little bit in Photoshop because of the different inkset, but the finished product is just as vibrant and detailed. I have printed on rag fine art paper, glossy photo paper and thinner card stock and in every case I get quality images.

Granted this is the only photo printer I've used. However, I am OCD and did a ton of research as to which one to buy. I only give it four stars because the matte/gloss ink cartridges that have to be switched out. Its annoying because I have to stop and I can never remember to bring the one with me I need when I (sometimes) take the printer home. I like that it's wide format, that it can print on 100% cardstock-and does do without having to bend the cardstock in the least. It allows you to manually load the paper in the front of the printer. My set up/work flow (if it matters) I use a Canon7d, Lightroom 4 (first LR2 then LR3), Photoshop CS6. I print large portraits and art. I do not print snapshots.GOOD:ReliabilityHolds its value (its selling for what I paid for it in 2008.)Non-Epson supplies work just fine with the printer. (while Epson encourages on every level use of Epson materials for the best output-they do not make it impossible to use other paper vendors, etc. I had a Brother printer that basically made the the use of non-Brother supplies impossible.)Not too heavy to move every once in awhile.Ink cartridges last and are not too expensiveBAD:Having to switch out ink cartridges. It takes a minute to warm up-I think it checks ALL of the inks levels at first-an it doesn't do that until you sendIt is heavy and takes up a lot of space-but if you have to have wide format you don't have another choice.

Needing a good but "lower" end printer I did some research and settled on this model mostly based on its black and white features. I am generally happy with the decision but after working with it for a few months I have found a few things that make the printer review less than it could be.Cost- I do the majority of photo work in B and W photography and the printer is excellent at printing but is a real ink hog. After about 20 prints ranging from 13 by 19 to smaller 8.5 by 11's, the low ink warning came on. Having to replace the three black ink cartridges at a cost of about $40 I was back online. Needless to say this is NOT an inexpensive printer to run.Documentation- The user's manual is almost nonexistent! I am not a professional photographer and I do not have a large group of people to draw information from so I am largely dependent on reading the manual and adjusting my ideas about how things work as I go along. The manual will get you up and running but that is about it. I needed to learn a great deal through trial and error about how Photoshop and the printer interact in order to get a quality print out of the machine. Things like color handling, saturation, features of different papers, and color gamut switching all were largely ignored in the manual. Needless to say this has been a long expensive process that could have been eased through a manual written by a competent professional person who knew something about the printer.Photoshop and printer control- I nearly sent the printer back over issues related to how Photoshop and the printer communicate. It all started when I changed to Matte Black printing. I have come to find out that you can't change cartridges while Photoshop is running and connected with the printer. While this should be pointed out in the manual it took a week of trying different things and an hour call to tech support to be able to configure the inks and paper properly. Luckily, after a wasted hour on the phone with low level tech support I was pushed to a supervisor who had the problem diagnosed and fixed in a matter of minutes. Mike was his name and he turned out to be a professional photographer. I learned more in a 15 minute conversation and a few subsequent emails with him then I did over multiple readings of the entire manual- he is the one that should writing the manuals!Overall, I am happy with the printer and I have been able to get a number of good prints out of it but I would not expect to get quality prints straight out of the box. I guess no printer is able to determine how I see things in a photograph and on the computer screen but a more details about how things work in the printer would make the learning curve a bit less steep and costly.

For years I have bought all in one printers, I decided to by an Epson 2000 printer only (made by Seiko, Japan)and an Epson Scanner rather that another all in one. My choice was a wise one. The printer produces incredibly high quality photographs on glossy or matte paper as well as simple B&W documents. Ink costs are much less with this printer. There are 7 color cartridges and a finishing glaze cartridge as well. If when a particular color runs low, you only replace that color and leave the rest at the levels they are at. In an all in one you have to replace the whole color cartridge each time it runs low. The Espson system not only produces superior color prints due to the 7 colors it has to work with but saves money on ink as only the color that is low needs to be replaced. It is a big machine but the results are well worth the cost if you are serious about having high quality prints as well as a plain paper printer for simple copies: Get one. I'll never go back to all in ones again.

I bought this printer to make matte fine art prints in the 11x14 or 8.5x11 sizes on fine art paper. After a while, it started to refuse to load the paper. It turns out, the paper dust gets on the rubber roller that feeds in the paper and starts to slip. So I figure this out months later and use a bit of scotch tape to remove the dust from the roller. It also has problems printing the full darkest parts of the image. Epson tells me to only use their paper, so I give up on the expensive art paper I bought and buy epson fine art paper. I multiple times clean the heads, fully charge them with ink, still a problem with the 11x14 sizes! Epson tells me the paper has a slight curve to it from slight water absorption, and to heat the paper slightly or press it so it removes the curve. I do this and finally, finally, I get a decent print. This is such a fussy printer that I wish I hadn't bought it. I had a r1900 that was much less trouble.

I think the images that this printer reproduces are simply stunning. Color reproduction is "darkroom quality". The number of paper formats this printer supports has really expanded my "decorating" choices (I'm an amateur photographer). I've always been happy with the reliability of Epson products and this printer bolsters that reputation. Ink (as always) is expensive, but you know; it certainly is $100's cheaper than having enlargements and framing done professionally.I only gave this printer 4 stars; but NOT because of any feature missing, but rather simply cost. For the MSRP price, you have to be pretty committed to your photography; because you wouldn't want to use it for general purpose printing. I wish for (Epson's sake), that they could make a less-expensive version!Nonetheless, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND it for the user who just wants "more" from their photos!

set-up has been easy. Although I got a not genuine Epson Ink message at first (black ink)...that was pretty annoying, specially just out of the box.It went away after much work, really Epson ? the printer did not want to print? this is kind of low specially on your own cartridges...Print quality is great, even on 13'' roll paper, instructions are not detailed enough though.Prints on 13'' x 19'' are quick, and great looking. This printer uses a lot of ink (it figures) but even more gloss optimizer...make sure you get plenty of that as well.Would I buy it again ?? FOR SURE ! if you want to get to the next level with either Publisher 2010 or Lightroom 4.3 this is the printer, this thing will print stuff you had no idea was there even on lower resolution pictures...EPSON...good JOB :)P.S keep in mind that you wont be able to find the ink off the shelf.

Bought an Epson stylus Photo R2000 to replace my photo stylus 2200 which seems to have reached the end of its useful life and to give me network printing.Printer set up easy enough although after inserting the ink cartridges they did not prime as the instructions said they would; had to call support. They had me cycle the power and that took care of the problem. The printer would not install wireless using my WEP "button" on the router for some rason. Then tried to install for usb connection; software hung right after the printer was detected; back to support.Restarted the install program; again chose wireless, this time via usb and everything went as it should.Have a wonderful new printer, would have liked to have done it without support but I guess that is what they are there for... they were very professional, and got me up and running! Off to print my first newsletter!

This is a good printer and seems to be working a long time without repairs, but I dislike the need to change from matte black to photo black each time I want to change paper type. It is a big pain and wastes a great deal of ink. I don't understand why, after the beauty of the R1900, Epson would go back to that kind of primitive ink design. And while I am at it: let me comment on a more general problem with Epson printers. I go through a lot of them because I do a few thousand prints per year. Used to be that all I had to do to get repairs was take a cab to an authorized service. Now there are very few places and they all require shipping each way and a 1-2 week wait for service. You are a large successful company. Why not design better service instead of expecting everyone to treat a printer like a disposable item?

Like the the shovel, I'm sure the Epson R2880 is designed to do the the job for which it was intended, but missing a handle ( clear instructions on how to use it or direct it to do what I want it to do) currently renders it useless until I learn how to construct the handle. I have spent many hours reading the instructions and have not had much success responding to the messages I get about loading paper in the right location. And if I were able to solve this problem, my ability to manipulate my downloaded watercolor images is seriously impared by my Apple computer not having certain required formatting capabilities. It is a 2011 Mac Pro.I paid good money for this unit because it was recommended to me by artist mentor. I will continue to try to correct my difficulties, but I wish this unit were more user friendly.

The printer is fine. Other reviews are good. The issue I'm addressing is that you should NOT count on getting your rebate. The paperwork is confounding, Epson response is slow, and the key is that the rebate documents change every single month. I'd advise you download the rebate form BEFORE you buy the printer and make sure it covers the exact timeframe you're planning on buying your printer. Make sure you've downloaded the correct one for the locale you live in.And my best advice, do NOT buy your printer toward the end of the month. The reason is that Epson immediately pulls the correct rebate forms at the beginning of the next month. What this means is if you bought your printer on January 31, if you go on-line on February 1, the correct rebate form will be gone. Search on Epson's site for the January form and you will not be able to find it.The printer is fine. Just expect to pay the full price since there's high odds you'll never actually get your rebate.

I cannot say that I've used my printer everyday. If I had, I probably would have learned a valuable fact: Read page 25 where it says select from the following options, "Gloss Optimizer to add a glossy finish to your print." This option, at least on my printer, was set as a default. So, you guessed it, the gloss optimizer was applied to everything and quickly ran out and the printer wouldn't print until I did something... like find that option buried among Advanced Options and deselect it. Nevertheless, unbeknownst to me, I had printed my business cards with gloss optimizer and people began to remark, "Wow, beautiful, how did you get this laminated, gel finish?" As almost nobody notices business cards any more, this is a positive. So, so far, I'm very pleased with my Epson R2000.

As a professional photographer I have used Epson printers for almost 20 years. I tried a Canon 17 inch printer and just didn't like it. Although it never seemed to clog, it used an inordinate amount of ink. I use an Epson 7890 for a lot of my printing but bought the 2880 as a second printer to run single 8x10's etc. I am a little disappointed at the ink expense with the 2880, but what else is new....Ink and gold seem to be on the same standard. Secondly , the prints do not match the 7890 prints very closely. I had hoped that using the same type of ink and the onboard profiles I would not have to adjust each file depending on the printer. That said it does give very rich and detailed prints.Epson Stylus Photo R2880 Wide-Format Color Inkjet Printer (C11CA16201)

This Epson Photo Printer is very nice. The quality of the photos that I've printed are pretty incredible. The printer was packaged very well and it's very easy to use once you have it set up. There are some great features that come with this printer including the ability to use a roll of paper to print on and the ability to print on a CD or DVD if desired. I have yet to use either of these functions but I think it's great that the option is there to use if desired.Setting the printer up was pretty easy but I did run into a couple problems. I used the quick-start guide and followed step-by-step. I ran into my first problem in step #3 after inserting the ink cartridges. In step #2 it told you to turn on the printer. Step #3 was to insert the cartridges. This was simple to do but after inserting the cartridges it told you to shut the lids and that the printer would prime the ink. It said not to do anything (including turning off the printer) for 4 minutes until this process was complete. Problem was I didn't hear anything happening. I waited the 4 minutes anyway and nothing was happening. I ended up turning off the printer and then turned it back on. Then the priming began and lasted for the 4 minutes. My next problem came in steps 5 & 6 where you set up the connection and install the software. I wanted it set up wirelessly and although my router qualified for setting it up without using a USB cord, it wouldn't work. A USB cord is recommended for setting up the printer however, a USB cord is not included. Once I used the USB cord to set up the printer via Wi-Fi, I was good to go. Although it wasn't hard to do, it's just a pain if you don't have a USB cord handy.Yes, the printer is rather large and bulky and yes, it's a bit loud and slow but, it works great. After the initial set-up issues I've had no other problems with this printer. I would recommend it. The quality is great.

Purchased new almost two years ago, running on a Mac platform. Initial setup out of the box was not a problem, There were some driver issues but Epson professional staff was easily available by toll free number. Despite their claim to be Mac friendly, not so much. But the problem was finally resolved after much trial and error. Only complaint is that the ink cartridges run out fairly quickly when printing larger than 8X10, which is the whole point of a large carriage printer. 99% of my work is B&W, yet it consumes color cartridges, especially light cyan, despite the lack of any toning on my part. I have called Epson support and they have no explanation as to why the printer is using up color inks when printing B&W.

After having a 1280 and 2200, the 2880 proved to have better dynamic range than the previous products and hopefully has a longer life. The 2200 was workhorse and I expect to get that and more from the 2880.Prints have been very clean, clear and, depending on the print media, are brilliant. It would be nice to have the advantage of have both Photo Black and Matte Black loaded at the same time and being able to select which cartridge to use on a given job.The down side is the high ink cost and the lack of higher capacity cartridges. This is also a consideration when having to swap photo for matt black knowing that the printer will not accept the pulled cartridge - no matter what it capacity level is.

I use the printer only for final image printing and only occasionally. The quality of prints is exceptional and gives very rich, true colors and excellent resolution and clarity. The end product matches very closely to the screen image on my late 2012 iMac in Photoshop CS6. The ink usage is high and, with 8 cartridges, can be somewhat expensive for heavy use; but worth it for the high quality of product. The printer takes quite some time to prepare for printing, but with high speed choice, printing goes quite quickly once the machine is ready to go. I would rate the printer as an excellent value. I also enjoy being able to connect my iPhone images with the printer through wifi.

I purchased this printer about a year and a half ago. It's been an excellent printer. In all that time, I don't think I've had to use the cleaning mode to clean the print heads more than a few times. I do quite a bit of printing, so I'm using it every week. I print mostly matte, so do not have to switch between photo black and matte black. There's a newer model that allows you to switch between matte and photo black without changing out cartridges. This printer allows you to make up to 13 x 19" prints. The only downside is the cost of the ink which if you print a lot is considerable. But I'm not sure if this cost is any different from any of the other printer manufacturers.

With this printer, you can easily produce gorgeous lab-quality prints that are ready to frame and hang. The quality thankfully doesn't rely solely on using Epson papers, either - I got excellent results with a variety of brands, and found a good deal on Canon Plus Glossy II that won't break the bank. Thank goodness, since this printer chugs gallons (picoliters, really, but at these prices...) of incredibly expensive ink. The speed is good - it seems better than the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 mk. II that it replaced.Epson does have drivers for OSX, but be prepared to do some legwork getting them to work. The wireless printing is great, however, if your print server (like mine) is an inconsiderate Synology box that won't play nice with photo printers.

Listen, I've been printing with a $50.00 Canon printer for the last couple of years. At first I loved it, and most of the time the prints did look pretty good to my untrained eye. But on other occasions, my picture - which is usually a partially Photoshopped art/photo combination - would look fabulous on my MAC screen, and then I'd suffer deflation after the picture printed out. But. no. more! First let me say, the better the paper you print on, the better your print will come out. Now, I'm not in any financial position to regularly print with the best, say Ilford paper, but you'll certainly get the maximum out of this baby by doing that. First printed on matte photo paper, and it looked nice. But the maximum wow was on glossy. Fully fantastic! The set up for this was handled by my significant other. He's very tech savvy, and but the set up was pretty straight forward. The Wi fi capability of this printer is a huge plus. With a printer this large, you do want the flexibility of putting it anywhere you want. I live in a not too large apartment, so this feature was a strong incentive in choosing this. Also, second bonus feature - wide format. Being I'm a NYC apartment dweller (in the Bronx), I create all of my magic in a very tiny kitchen. I've been basically forced into small format by constriction. Certainly looking forward to exploring larger prints and pictures using this Epson R-2000, even if I have to get down on the floor to work 'em. Grovel I will. Both me and my partner are very into photography and the visual arts and, if karma has its way, this printer will help the pave the way to worldwide recognition. Kidding!Ok, the prints! Beautifully color saturated and dense. Just plain lovely. Yeah, this just might be the printer of my dreams. Hell, each time I print, it's like getting a gift.

The ultra chrome inks produce the best colors I have ever seen from a home printer. Printing speed in color is average. Gray scale printing is very fast. I have not printed enough to determine the per print cost. However; my position has always been that once you decide to invest in a printer, the print quality far outweighs the print cost. The print quality is excellent. Loading media is a whole different game. I use Epson Satin Canvas cut to 8.5x11 rear loaded as instructed. There is no release mechanism to aid in loading and feeding limp canvas into the rear over the white feed wheels is very difficult. Surely this could be easily fixed with a simple spring and release lever. Also, I find that sometimes when it rejects the media as loaded, you can click eject and it works (about 50% of the time). Otherwise, when it rejects loading to print, it is a real hassle to get it working right.

I was extremely happy for about 8 months but then the printer started having paper feed problems. Thankfully it was still under warranty and Epson sent me a new replacement printer, which so far is working excellent. I use this printer as part of my business. I print heavily (about 100-200 prints per week) so perhaps this printer is not meant for such heavy use. It might be better for less use. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for it's print quality. If you are planning to use it commercially or for heavy use, you may want to look for a more qualified printer. I am happy though.

This gargantuan printer prints incredible photos. There are endless color adjustments possible and the prints are sharp and clear. I find the Adobe RGB setting to be most realistic color for fleshtones. The downside for me, and the reason I have to return this printer, is that although the printer is wireless and is supposed to be one of the printers that is Epson iprint enabled, the ONLY things that I was able to print through the iprint app were JPEGs. The app brings up choices of photos, docs, cloud storage, etc. as selections for printing, but each and every file type except JPEG produces an "unsupported file type" error. The printer is also not (yet) compatible with Epson's email printing. To be clear, I was able to print all the file types I needed from my home computer/laptop. But much of what I want to print, I want to be able to do remotely from an android device.I contacted Epson about the JPEG only issue, as the types of projects I would be printing would include files other than JPEG and I regularly use andoid devices for at least parts of my projects. Epson's response was as follows: "At this time, the JPEG file type is all that is supported. They are always updating this so it will most likely have more support in the future." I wish they could have given me something more concrete - what additional remote printing options will be available and in what time frame. So I have to reluctantly return this printer, but will keep an eye on it to possibly purchase again in the future when updates to connectivity have been made.

Contrary to some reviews the ink consumption is not bad at all. I have printed a 13" x 8ft panaroma, a 8.3" x 15ft panaroma and over 30 8.5 x 11 prints on the first set of ink cartridges. I did have to replace the gloss cartridge, but that is a small price to pay for the outstanding quality. The color,IQ and clarity is amazing. Everyone thinks I had prints made it is so good. There was no drying out even after a 2 week trip to China. I highly recommend this printer. For the price is is a bargain considering what you get.

I received my printer yesterday and have spent the last 14 hours trying to get it set up and running. The instructions are incomplete and inadequate. I still have not got it right. I saw no information in the instructions regarding how changing black ink cartridges will alter the icc paper profiles available so I spent 4 your trying to figure what happened to my glossy paper choices. I now think I have it operating but at about 20% capability. I would not suggest anyone purchase this or any other epson printer if you are running an IMAC.

When the 2880 works it makes great photos. It rarely works. The sheet feeder works about 1 in 20 attempts (more often not at all). Once in a while an unplug reboot works to get me one or two prints (before again refusing to feed). I'm just waiting to use the hundreds of dollars of ink I have before getting replacing the printer. Not only would I not recommend to a friend I would give to an enemy. Hint: To change black inks you have to un-install and re-install the printer.

As a composer I use the printer primarily to make enlarged copies of complex music scores. It took a while until I found the correct paper to use , but once I did I found that it was perfect.I also use it quite often to print unique labels right on to my CD's jand it is excellent for that purpose and quite easy to use. the ink does tend to be a bit pricey, however if you use the Epson inks they're quite good.I highly recommend this printer.

This printer is a terrific. I have been taking college courses in photography. Other students ask me "where did you have that printed" I say "at home". Then they say " I wish I had a printer like that".The printer is easy to use. I do a fair amount of black and white printing the three shades of black helps to get better black and white prints.Color prints are also very good quality. It is best to use Epson paper.

Excellent printer for someone just beginning to print large format photos. Good and true color reproduction. Accepts most papers but is difficult to adjust to some sizes, takes persistence to determine just how to fit a digital photo to some paper sizes. Reasonable ink conservation depending on type of paper used. You learn a lot from this before stepping up in printer quality if you are doing art studio work.

I was quite disappointed with this printer. It is slow, for one thing, and rather complicated in terms of the manipulation of its capabilities. The most egregious condition is with the inks. When one of the cartridges runs out, the printer will not print, so you must get a whole new set. The expense of this is unacceptable.I had this printer for 4-5 months, then sold it for less than half of its original cost.

I have used Canon and HP printers in the past. They were in the $ 200 - $ 350 range. At this time I have been able to devote much more of my time to photography. So I tried the Epson R2000, money well spent. When I print a photo now it looks just like the one that I took with my camera. There is a learning curve with this printer which I lived through and was worth it. I paid a little more but I'm happy with the qaulity of the finished product. At this time I use Epson paper which I like very much and has a good selection.

I am a photographer and have been using Epson printers from the beginning. My last printers were the 3800 and also the 280. Unfortunately they were ruined in the hurricane. I bought the 2880 to replace them. I am super happywith my new printer. Vivid colors and easy to use. I also have an older 2200 which is now used by my husband.Highly recommend the 2880 and other Epson products.

I've had my Epson R2000 for about 2 months now and I really love it. Setting up the printer was a breeze and I'm not the best with this type of thing. But I set it up myself without any problems. This is the first photo printer I've owned (that isn't an all-in-one) and I'm really enjoying printing with it. I'm learning about ICC profiles, color management and this printer makes it all very easy to use.Except for a few prints that did not come out well (could be my settings, not sure yet) every thing else came out very nice- color prints as well as black and white.I also don't fully agree with the comments about the ink usage. I've only had to replace 2 cartridges so far and I've printed over 50 8.5x11 prints, as well as a few 13x19. This doesn't seem too bad to me.Overall I'm very happy with this printer.

Pros:Excellent print quality, reasonably fast.Cons:Single sheet feed failed after three prints, small tank capacity and high ink consumption on high quality setting means frequent purchase of cartriges.I can live without the single sheet feed, but it's failure is disappointing. This is an expensive printer and quality control should be better.

I needed a printer that would print paper smaller than 8x10. I shopped around and found this one that, with a rebate, was less than most of the smaller printers, and not be expensive to fill with ink, although I don't think it is as economical as my 3880. The prints it makes, and I have tried it to 13x19 are just as good as the 3880.

I have been using the Epson Photo Stylus 2880 for over three years. I took my a while to figure out how to print high quality photographs but once I did I have been impressed with the quality. The large format is a very nice feature. My only complain is having to switch from Matte Black to Photo Black to print pictures. WCS

After years of using my Epson Stylus Photo 1800 I felt it was time for me to upgrade to newer printer technology and better color prints. After much research and many conversations with more talented photographers I decided the Epson Stylus Photo R2000 was the printer for me. My photographer friends all said, and I quote, "It's the best printer I've ever had". With the new profiles and inks they all said they get perfect color prints right out of the box. I've only had my R2000 for a week or so, but I have printing many prints for Christmas gifts. So far,it has performed as recommended by my friends. If you want good color prints, the Epson R2000 is the printer to consider.

I love this printer for how it prints BW's but the ink is sooooooooo expensive!! If I'd known that I would NOT have purchased it. Seriously!! Inkjet printers are getting way too expensive to use. I had the Epson 2200 before the 2880 and I couldn't believe how much smaller the inks are. But it does make a beautiful print.

I purchased this printer in February of this year, after reading a glowing review in Pop Photography Magazine. The price was steep at $500. but with the promised $100. rebate, that brought it down to an affordable amount for my limited retirement budget. I figured I could swing $400. for it. And it seemed like a very good printer to boot. After receiving the printer, I filled out all the neccessary paper work with proof of purchase and carefully mailed it to them. To date, I never received a rebate and there is no number or web site to contact them at. I feel I have been cheated out of the promised $100. I will never buy an Ebson product again. I rated the product only one star because the price was part of the deal and I probably would have purchased another cheaper brand except for the rebate. If you plan on purchasing this printer, keep in mind you may be paying full price and may never get your promised rebate. As for the quality of the prints, A cheaper brand would probably do as well. Pfuuut!.........Aug.7 update! Still no rebate check sent to me. I wrote a formal letter to their headquarters explaining my issue, two months ago and received NO response. Customer service is zero. I don't think this printer is worth $500. I should have bought a $99. Lexmark printer from HSN. I think I would have gotten a better deal.
