So far so good - does exactly what I was expecting. I run Linux but fortunately there is Linux command-line software available that gets the job done. I tested mine at -25C and they seem to work fine overnight.

Doesn’t work well at all
I’m sorry to say this device simply doesn’t work at all for recording refrigerator temperatures, despite manufacturer’s claims.
This should be considered a preliminary review. I had an urgent situation requiring the use of a Temperature Data Logger, received it yesterday and tried twice to use it with negative results. I’ve already requested a replacement from Amazon. I will update my review after I have tested the replacement.
The unit is stylishly designed and appears to be well-made. The brief instruction sheet leaves something to be desired, but there is a more detailed manual that can be downloaded.
My immediate need was to record the temperatures in a new home refrigerator.
Getting up and started is very simple. I left the unit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours having set it to record the temperature every five minutes.
The PDF report the device automatically produces is very well done and very informative.
Except only three readings were made before a “battery voltage too low” message was recorded and the unit ceased recording.
I had used the battery that was installed in the unit upon delivery.
So I assumed maybe they had used cheap batteries or something.
I installed a CR2032 from a new package with a use by date of 2024 and put the unit back in the refrigerator and left it overnight.
Same result. After 15 minutes, the low voltage warning appeared and the unit stopped recording.
Analog devices are showing the refrigerator temperature as 40 degrees F.
I’ll try the replacement, but if the same thing occurs, I think this unit can safely be dropped from consideration.

Updated Review: Low Voltage Error
Update: The original temperature data logger did not work correctly, see my notes below in this review for why. However, the company does stand behind their product. I was emailed stating that they had a defective battery in a batch of devices that caused the issue. They sent me a replacement unit, and the device works as described now. The software could be more user friendly still, but it is workable. I appreciate them getting me a device that works.

That makes it pretty useless for that purpose and I am guessing a freezer would be even worse. Since the device is rated to -22 F, this should not be an issue. Works well: caveats in getting it working on a Mac (solved)
The item is solid, light, and works well. The instructions are opaque. You can download software from elitechus.com.
Two warnings. One: f you have Mac OS 10.14 or 10.15 then DO NOT install the provided drivers. These versions of Mac OS include necessary drivers and installing 3rd party ones will hang your system. Two: if your Mac says words to the effect of "Can't run the Elitech app: can't scan it for viruses" then go to your System Preferences / Security & Privacy / General tab IMMEDIATELY after you've tried to run it, and you will be able to enable it to run.
These two things avoided/done, the device works very well. Exports to Excel, PDF, JPG, settings are all available, template settings can be stored, etc.

Temp measurement response time is long
It is a good value product for its cost.
I've compared to other temperature meters, it shows a good accuracy. Definitely, sufficient for my home usage.
One thing I've noticed to be taken into account. It has a pretty long response time. I've performed a very simple experiment. I've put the logger in the cold environment of 14deg C and recorded the time it took it to get to this temperature.
The response time was about 18 minutes for 8 deg C temperature drop. See attached snapshot. It is probably caused by the fact that the whole device should get to the environment temperature, as its sensor is inside. It is not a big deal for the measurements where temperature changes are very slow - an order of hours or so...In case, higher response time is required, it should be considered to buy an external sensor add on. Hopefully, it will have higher response time.
For my home purposes the device is fine as is.

Easy to setup and use, very nice PDF output.
Like: easy to use setup software, nice interface with my laptop, easy to begin and end the temp logging.
I really like the output file. It is highly helpful for me to see the temp trends, high and low. Great design.
Dislike: only one dislike, I was not able to change from Centigrade to Fahrenheit. Since I'm specifically looking for temps at or below freezing, Centigrade is just fine, as zero is easy to see.
I use this device to track temperatures in my mountain cabin to help me determine how much antifreeze to put in my toilet and drains to prevent them from freezing and being destroyed. This device has given me actual data that permits me to plan and meet cabin needs accurately.

Instructions are not written clearly
While the device does what it is claimed to do the basic instructions leave a lot of information out. The instructions assume that you know that you have to go to their website to download software that you need, to read the information from the logger. (This software is needed to change the date and time function, also the whether it reads in centigrade or fahrenheit. As well as more detailed manual. Why they didn't just add more memory to the device and include the pdf manual and the application software on the device is an oversight on part of the manufacturer.

Ok, but not great and probably overpriced for the value
This thing doesn’t exactly work in an intuitive way and I’m not sure it’s fully calibrated. You will have to invest some time and read reviews, email support, and talk to other users to figure this out. But for our our purposes it seemed ok but overpriced. All we wanted to do is Know if our freezer & refrigerator units had heated up too much (like because of a power outage) while we were gone. I think it will probably do that, but to be clear we are not sure it’s truly reading the temperatures correctly. I would say it’s probably off be 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit so not suitable for commercial uses.

Software not compatible with Mac OS X Catalina
The mac software distributed with the product does not run on macos Catalina. Specifically, running it produces the error message "“ElitechLog” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." When I contacted Elitech's support chat, I was instructed to disable the OS security checks. The support tech confirmed that he/she was instructing me to disable the security checks, as shown in the screenshot. I am not confident that Elitech's software does not contain malware. Do not buy this product.

Good calibrated thermometer
Very good and his calibration is good for 18 month the only problem is that the certificate say calibration from day of manufacturing. But I had to call the company to find out that the manufacturing I'd the serial number first 2 digit the year next 2 digit the month. They should have that explanation on the certificate to make it more official. Also I ordered 3 got 1 and the other 2 -3 weeks later. The program work ok.

Did not work with remote head
dislike- Chinese menus on mac relative to software. Also the remote head needs to be turned on in the software. After I plugged it in with the RC-5+ on I read a note on the web that you should not do that. When you save the settings it says that it the drive has been disconnected wrong.
Like - looks nice and the battery pull tab was easy.

Works well as long as you don't need perfect precision
This works as described, and I liked the ability to see the overall patterns of cooling in my refrigerators, but the temperature was not accurate enough for my needs (it was 3 or 4 degrees off). The professional I hired pointed out that to expect more precision from something this inexpensive would be silly, and he's right.

No linux support, only shows a pdf
There is no software to control this device from a Linux computer. WINE doesn't run the windows executable. The device shows up as a USB drive with only a pdf file. A PDF? So I can paste that into Excel column by column? They couldn't have made it a CSV file?

low voltage reading on the graph. Installed a new battery. Still low voltage at about -2 F degrees. No reading below -2F, the newly purchased mechanical gauge is reading below -10 F. emailed the company and waiting for a response.
The website says 24-hour response. Emailed them on Sunday and again on Monday AM. now Tuesday pm, no response.
Finally A week after receipt of the unit and several unanswered phone call to the 24/7 helpline. It is answered and a new unit with tracking was promised. A week later and nothing.

Perfect for what I need.
I have this in shipping container. I wanted to know how hot is gets in the container with the doors kept closed. This has logged the temps and the report is very helpful in the decisions as to what I can store in it.

Microclimate monitoring
I use it to obtain data for the calculation of GDD (growing degree days) for my microclimate. The export to excel function of the software makes I easy to dump the data onto a spreadsheet for the calculation.

good seals around battery and top; records like it says. if you need a temp recorder,
it would be very hard to recreate this for $25. opens much faster under ubuntu on my
laptop. a few of these placed in an attic space would be a useful way to track heat/cold problems.

Excellent sensor, professional instant PDF reports, easy to use software and easy to deploy
Easy to use and comes ready for use with a battery. The PDF reports includes a plot which can be retrieved by connecting the device to a computer. Software can configure the run time, rate, pdf report name, start delay and more. Software allows one to view all the values and export to CSV/Excel.

Great product for the price
With the versatility and ease of use, this is a great product for the money. I have plans for various uses but my first use was to monitor the frequency of a hot water heater cycling on and off. By monitoring the flue from the water heater I was able to determine the cycling.

Simple to use, and love the PDF readouts
I really like this unit. I have been using it to keep track of low temperatures in my greenhouse. It is nice there is a calibration function. Love how easy it is to plug it into my computer and I get an instant PDF of temp. and time. Highly recommend. Oh, make sure you go onto their website to download what you need. Don't panic, you can change to Farenheit and 12 hour time display.

USB - Ease of Use
This product is simplistic in it's design, and more than capable in the data collected. The presentation of the results captured via the built-in reports detailing the information recorded e.g., hi / low / avg temp, plus date and time of the periodic recordings is tremendous time saver. There is no need to download information to create your own report. This device is recommended buy.

Food safety!
This little guy worked great. I used it to check to see if my refrigerator in my house was keeping my food the right temperature. Sure enough my food was getting too warm multiple times a day. I would not have known if it wasn’t for this device. Thanks guys!

DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 10. CUSTOMER SUPPORT A WASTE OF TIME. Purchased two RC-5'S and found out the hard way they do not work on windows 10. I contacted the seller / manufacturer and over a 60 day period I was asked a number of questions about my computers and asked to try different thinks. No luck they will not work on any of my window's 10 computers, these computers were purchased new with windows 10 NOT upgraded. At the end the seller / manufacturer has disappeared and I am stuck with something I really cant use unless I boot up an old computer. I don't understand why they don't have a software patch like most so solve the problem. I do not recommend this if your running Windows 10. READ THE REVIEWS ON AMAZON.COM

Very satisfied so far. I bought it for a temperature control in a cold storage warehouse (4C) for food at work. For now I just test it in my office and outside but seems to work pretty well.
I like the program that came with it. Easy to set parameters. You can export data in text, world, PDF and Excel program. For my use, the PDF is the one i will use. First page is the list of the setting parameter that was used, after you got a graphique with a table listing all temperature taken with the time. You can set a Maximum/Minimum temperature so if you go over/under these the color of the data (red/blue) change for an easy reading, really usefull when your product need to stay in a range of temperature.
The price is really good, there is a good chance that I buy more of these after doing real testing in the warehouse.
The only little down side for my use is that it would be nice to have a little Alarm that would go on when you go over/under the max/min temperature setting.
So I would recommend this product.

I give it three stars only because the documentation is very poor and the software is not user friendly. However, once you figure out how to make it work, it does accurately keep track of temperature over a long period. The unit has worked well for four weeks now, and I can upload the temperature record to a PC. However, like many inexpensive Chinese electronic products, the computer software is opaque and not particularly intuitive. The instructions are just awful. It works, but you need to fight it to get useful data. Overall construction quality seems high. It was shipped on time. I doubt that this unit would survive either water or vibration, but I have not tested it outside of an indoor environment.

I needed to know how cold the garage gets at night, this device did that for me. However I found I can not 'zoom' in to the graph to see temps record by record. Fortunately the database 'historical' display shows the maximum and minimum readings during the recording period, so that sufficed for me.
