Shipped fast from amazon, and works great. Very good picture when watching videos such as you tube. Easy to install as well. Plug and play because I had a previous dell monitor.

Have mine for a week now. Nice monitor, set it up using c-nets calibrations. Pros: Easy to set up and use, nice bright picture, fantastic looking games, fast 2ms response, low power consumption.Cons:Rather flimsy stand. Only tilt no hight adjustment. For the price you can't beat it.

UPDATE:Using DVI, the video card can indeed control the scaling, but there is a significant amount of compression artifacts when viewing dark scenes. Images that have a gradient fill to pure black (such as the Windows 7 startup animation) show very clear borders instead of a smooth glow. The EA logo in Crysis looks rather nasty as the should-be-black compression artifacts are clearly visible. These do not appear on the HDTV, so it is the monitor's problem.I got this monitor for my gaming desktop because I wanted to be able to clone the display on the desk and on the HDTV that is nearby. It works great, I no longer have to worry about changing resolutions. I was hoping to get a monitor with a component input so I could plug the Wii in when the TV was in use, but those monitors cost an extra $100 just for that. I saw this was on sale via lifehacker and jumped on it. While searching the menu, I came across the "Color Format" setting, and was surprised to see it had an option for YPbPr. YPbPr isn't ever used in VGA, DVI, or HDMI, it's what component uses, why is there an option for it? So, soley on a hunch, I cut and stripped an old VGA cable and a component cable. I connected the RGB and their respective grounds to the component's RGB and grounds and plugged in the Wii. The screen turned black, and seconds later, the Wii System Menu appeared. No need to worry about sync, it somehow knows to pull it off the green/luma. This can monitor can decode component out of the box. At less than $200, that's a steal. Just grab almost any VGA to component cable and set the monitor to YPbPr and you can use it for Wii, PS2, watching TV (from a cable or satellite box), or anything else with a component out.Pros:It decodes COMPONENT!!The monitor has 5 buttons. A power button on the front, and 4 unlabeled buttons on the side. Push any of the side buttons and the menu will appear. Between the menu and the physical location of the buttons, it will have icons depicting what each button does (Up, Down, Accept and Back). This is good because you never need another light source to check what button you are pressing.You can also assign hotkeys to those buttons. Example, make holding down the top button jump directly to the input selection.It has an audio in and audio out, but no speakers. They exist so that the monitor can pull the audio from the HDMI and send it to your desktop speakers.The menu is relatively large with many options, including color adjustment.Cons:The box does not include a DVI cable.The monitor does not automatically detect the display scaling. You have to go deep into the menu to switch between 4:3 and 16:9, there is no auto, there are no other ratios. I am still using VGA, so I do not know if the video card can control the scaling.

21 months after purchase, a flashing pad lock showed up on the screen and no amount of effort or research on line has enabled me to fix this, despite numerous suggestions. The flashing pad lock is a known problem going back at least 3 years. Type "flashing pad lock" in Google to confirm this. I think it is strictly a hardware, not software problem, maybe associated with the settings switches on the edge of the unit. Today the monitor quit entirely. Of course it is beyond the 1 year limited hardware warranty. If all you want is one year from a nice desktop display, this unit is fine. If you think it should last longer than a year, look elsewhere.

I have two of these monitors and am very happy with them. They look great, are pretty frugal in their energy use, and don't strain my eyes too much. They have all the connections that I need and the range of tilt adjust-ability is great. Both HD and regular computing content looks vivid and accurate. The contrast and black levels are also very good.21.5" is an ideal size, for most use in a dual screen set-up. Any larger and it takes too much of your time managing the real estate. Any smaller and you can't fit 2 documents open next to each other comfortably.I highly recommend these monitors.

The first one I bought directly through DELL. Loved it so much that I bought another... even with me jumping platforms from PC (hate Dell anymore) to Apple, I still am going to buy another of these monitors. Great clarity. No buzz (I am very sensitive to sound). Great price.

very happy.got this for 165, what a deal.i have another dell lcd, about 4 years old, and still working perfectly.i would always choose a brand like dell over something like acer any day.

my brother got me this for my birthday cuz i needed a monitor for my new desktop. I ended up putting my ps3 on it also and i played the whole of Final Fantasy XIII on it. it could show its 1080p quality very well. Now I play WoW on this and just for every day browsing and its the perfect size for my computerCon: all the ports are on the bottom of the monitor so it is very inconvenient to plug things into em.

I've had this monitor for a couple of months now. I don't want to jinx myself but this monitor is still going good. I don't need any high-def stuff. I just wanted a decent monitor and I'm OK with this so far. Price was on sale when I got it though made it better.

The stand goes on fine but the instructions as to the tilt function were not in set up manual.You do have to press on the big dell symbol on the back and no force required it tilts. Sounds strange but it worked!Just press on the top part and it works....other people on different sites said to "force it", etc, just bought this but not from Amazon, just giving a little advice thought it would help.Color great, old sound bar didn't fit but the new one will.

This monitor is definitely an improvement over my old one and the visuals are clear but it's not what I had in mind. It's too wide and too short in height. I have to manipulate windows sometimes to get down to the place to click the OK box on certain pages, and this is despite all kinds of adjustments re pixels, etc. It's just eccentrically odd in its shape and don't know why they made it that way. I didn't return it because it's not a big deal and not the computer I use most often (I use my laptop more) and i'm getting used to it. But I can't say i love it or anything. I gave it 4 stars because there's nothing wrong w/it and the pictures are very clear and crisp. I'm just having to get used to the short and extra-wide screen. I had something more like a square in mind, not a long rectangle.

The screen is big and impressive looking, but the display has blurry spots, which DELL does not see as a problem.I purchased two of these monitors, along with 2 dell computers for the office. We took them out of the box, hooked them up, and immediately everyone noticed that in places, the focus is off. When looking at text, words in certain locations on the screen are blurred.A Dell technician worked on the screen remotely, but could not find a problem nor suggest any solution. Both screens have the identical problem. If there is no problem with these screens and this is simply the quality, we are greatly disappointed. It would drive anyone's eyes crazy to work on this all day.

As other reviewers have noted, this is a very good monitor for the money ($160). I received it yesterday and got it working immediately. The CD that comes with it and contains instructions is useless - not that you'll need it. One thing momentarily confused me: when I noticed the monitor had an "audio in" plug I assumed the monitor had integrated speakers, but it doesn't. It's a minor thing, and just struck me as odd. Can't say anything at present about how long this monitor will hold up, but my luck with most Dell products has been pretty good so far.

This monitor came with a computer I ordered online at Dell. I am not a techie but I think it has wonderful color and resolution. I agree that the printed guide to setting up the monitor is not much help. The font is so small one needs a magnifying glass to read it. The CD manual is much more complete. When I first connected the monitor the image was too far to the right and it did take me a while to figure out the available adjustments - really needed to go to the CD for that. There it tells you to run the feature caled Auto Adjust which will optimize the display to your setup. That solved my display problem. I am very pleased.

All of the Dell HD widescreen monitors work very well. This one as well. If you don't need built in speakers, you can save some money by getting the model without the speakers in it. The monitors handle very high refresh rates excellently and you can watch HD easily on the internet with it. Combine it with a high quality video card like any of the newer Nvidia models or a Diamond Stealth with ATI Radeon and you've got a truly superior monitor.- Mike S.

I got it today, and it works perfectly:-easy to set up-bright-fully support 1080HD (1920x1080)-work with HDMI nicely-perfectly fit for readers or long-time-using users with anti-glare.-cheap for its quality!!Con: no other feature comes with it (I do not care because I buy a monitor, so I expect it to work as a monitor, not as a speaker, webcam, and such)

This screen is amazing. We were looking for a new monitor to replace a very old 16.5" one, and his was exactly our price- $160- and it's beautiful, huge and awesome. End of story.

The image on this monitor is very clear, but the color is off. There are adjustments for hue and saturation, but the result always has too much blue.There is no printed manual, and the one on the CD is too sparse.

Это монитор с display: для работы в офисе или банке , не имеет качество профиля цветов, имеет плохой баланс между яркостью и черные и не откалиброван... Не, лучше в технологии TN...

Разочаровывает!
Монитор, который разочаровал меня, как для цветов, очень "холодные", но особенно для via dell' "аура" присутствует в верхнем правом углу экрана, который заставил меня вернуть, учитывая, что это явно заводской дефект, кстати, уже сообщили от других пользователей мониторов Dell в более высоком ценовом диапазоне, поэтому глаз и совет на Dell, для уточнения и контроля качества...
