Power only on one port at a time.
I'm using this switch to try to connect to some Unifi wireless access points (AP-AC-LITE) which support 802.3af just like this switch. The first device to be connected powers on fine, but I cannot then plug the second device in. Nothing happens.
I've already had the switch replaced once thinking maybe I had a faulty unit but I may need to send the replacement back too.
I'm reaching out to both Unifi and Dlink to see if I can establish what the problem is but it's not looking good for the switch. I'll update here if I find a solution.
Update: reducing to one star as a third replacement from D-Link exhibits the same problem. Would be better off with a standard 8-port switch and a couple of PoE injectors.

Very well priced, well built PoE+ switch currently for less than PoE switch money.
Replaced a broken TP-Link Poe switch.
This hub looks good so far. It's PoE+ Gigabit for less than the price of most other brand PoE Gigabit switches (£42 at time of review).
I also have various Netgear PoE switches, and this one seems to function no differently (aside from the PoE+ ability).
It is currently powering two Reo-Link PoE cameras with no problem
Will update longer term if reliability proves to be a problem.
Update December 2019: I've been sufficiently impressed by this, that I've bought a second one. Form factor wise, it's a bit bigger than the Netgear equivalent. However given the price and extra feature of PoE+, I think this is certainly better value.

Wish I'd bought one sooner
I've never had a wired setup in my life, and have always used WiFi, and I really wish I had done this a long time ago. Setting up was super easy. I bought a pack of 1 meter lan cables to go with it, and hooked up all my devices in my entertainment unit (xbox, PS4, PC) along with a longer cable for laptops etc. I ran a long cable through my floor to the router downstairs, and switched everything on, and it just all works! I used to get 10meg over my WiFi, but now I get the full 60meg speed. It's absolutely crazy. Pings have dropped down to next to nothing. I'm so happy I finally upgraded to wired. This was really easy to set up and it's made such a difference. Looks good too on my black unit.

Fantastic. Revolutionised my home connection experience.
Bought this to support my home gigabit LAN. Installed in a loft area and wired up quickly. It configured itself in minutes and has performed flawlessly for several months and provides gigabit speeds between several hubs, which all host wireless access points. Incoming linespeed of my fibre is 220Mbps and I get very close to that (typically in excess of 215Mbps) around my whole house from WiFi and the full 220Mbps from hardwired connections through fixed devices. Never drops out and will happily support all of my streaming needs and that of my family, which can often see us streaming 5+ 4k films at any one time.

Quality, hassle free switch
This is the second D-Link DGS-108/B switch I bought, having had first for a trouble free 6 months.
Essentially it just works as expected, hassle free, no issues with bandwidth, using Cat6/Cat7 cable I get full gigabit in between devices in the house as well as from outside (910/110 FTTP).
Switch is very well made and doesn't get hot - I can easily recommend it!

Works fine
Our home has some built in ethernet but in a few places there is a concentaion of equipment and we needed some extra local ethernet points. We use these in a few places (studio, lounge and home office) and they link back to a central switch and to the router, they are small and tuck out of the way and have two keyhole shaped screw mounting holes makoing them easy to position (the lounge is free standing behind the DVD player, studio is on the wall where the photo editing section is, and the office mounted under the desk). I get full speed when transferring data from my PC to the NAS (which are on different switches) and this is frequently while streaming HD movied across different connections.
Installation is simple, connect power, connect to your router, wall point or whatever and then plug in whatever needs connecting - no setup or anything.

Excellent quality plug and play.
Really happy with this switch.
I couldn't be bothered to run extra cables to my living room so bought this instead.
You really can't complain about a d link gigabit switch for under £20.
I appreciated the fact it was made of metal- it feels really solid.
There's only likely to be one item running though it at once, but it is handling high bitrate hd video and audio without problem - I've every confidence it'll perform at it's full spec without a hitch.
I'm not sure why it's asking me to review the wifi signal capabilities - this device has nothing to do with wifi.
Anyway. Highly recommended !

Good Value Item
The first thing to note is that only 4 of the 8 ports support POE - the other 4 are just standard ethernet ports. It's important to realise this before purchasing.
The PSU is a 48 volt item, so be very careful not to plug it into any other devices by mistake, of you may blow them up! I have the connector on mine very clearly labelled.
Build is robust (metal case) and it works very well. I've had no problems in operation.
I have 3 IP cameras connected to mine, and they work perfectly, even with IR active.
My personal preference would be to have the PSU integrated into the router and just use a kettle lead to power it (making it easier to use a UPS) even if the case needed to be larger to accommodate it but this is the only real irritation.
If you need a router with 4 POE ports, this should be near the top of your list.

A bit noisy at first
Unmanaged is good for TV setups. Have one input from a wifi powerline plug, and 6 outputs to various devices under TV.
It does work, but makes an audible high pitched noise when starting up and detecting connection, sometimes for a minute or two. Because the TV drowns it out, still gets 3 stars and the connections seem stable.
Looks good and runs off a 5V barrel powered off a USB bus too.

Simple to set up and it just works
This product works very well. It is very simple to set up. Plug in the power lead, connect an ethernet cable from your network to any of the ports and then plug in ethernet cables from the various devices that you want to access the network into the spare ports. That's it. It doesn't need any set up beyond that and it just works. It has been running now for a few days without any issues. Its metal construction is also most welcome in this age of flimsy plastic products.

Working well with Ring Elite stick up cam
I bought this to connect some ring elite stick up cams. The first one went straight in but I struggled with the second. I left them both connected and had dinner. When I came back after dinner they were both working so I can only assume that it takes a while to find the right poe voltage. I have a Samsung TV, desktop pc, 2 IP cams all working fine with no buffering etc

Probably 48V - certainly doesn't appear to be 24V
Took a punt as one of the reviews suggesting one of these is working well with Access Points and IP Cameras. Wouldn't power up any of my access points or cameras, so assuming it's not 24V as mine require that. Nothing wrong with the product, it's just unfortunate if you search for "gigabit PoE 24v switch" this will (or would at the time) come up as a recommended item. Beware, if that's what you searched for, this may not be for you. Returned to Amazon and have tried to let them know it's coming up as a wrong search item.

Unreal!
The idiot who delivered this electrical item decided it would be a good idea to just toss it over the gate. Shame he does not put the same effort into delivering an item as he puts into making sure it lands a good distance away. The fact it's raining hard and the product was outstand for a good couple of hours before I saw it compounds the matter, What chance is there of this unit working after being treated like this?

habe die USB2.0 Version bestellt. Da es hier sicher einige gibt, die die Variante suchen, welche für dass AU MMI MHI2 "Upgrade" funktioniert..... --> JAAA diese hier funktioniert! Bestellt im August 2020!

Unter Linux nicht ausgegoren ...
Die D-Link DUB-1312 sollte an unserem Laptop (Asus UX32VD) zum Einsatz kommen, der leider kein Onboard-LAN und nur sehr langsames WLAN hat. (Zum Surfen reicht es so grade, für Datentransfers nicht.) Auf dem Laptop kommt hauptsächlich Linux, aktuell Ubuntu 14.04, zum Einsatz, weswegen dieses Modell gewählt wurde, das offiziell Linux-Kompatibilität verspricht.
Die vorliegende HW rev. A1 wird dennoch *nicht* automatisch erkannt, obwohl ein Treiber für den enthaltenen chip ASIX 88179 im kernel enthalten wäre. Auch der passende aktuelle Treiber von der ASIX home page (Quellen zum Selber-Kompilieren) schafft keine Abhilfe. D-Link selbst stellt online keine Treiber zur Verfügung, wohl aber immerhin auf der Treiber CD (wiederum als Quellen). Die waren zwar mangels CD-Laufwerk etwas umstänlich auf den Laptop zu bekommen, aber sie funktionieren immerhin, wenn man zuerst das usbnet-Modul und dann den eigentlichen Treiber händisch einbindet. Rundum lästig.
Ich habe die Karte dann an allen drei USB3-Ports getestet (Kopie einer Reihe ~1GB Dateien von einem Samba-Server):
- links: ~22 MB/s
- rechts hinten: ~35 MB/s
- rechts vorne: ~22 MB/s [läßt sich nicht ganz einstecken]
Während des Tests hatte ich immer wieder "Wackelkontakte", d. h. die Verbindung wurde zwischenzeitlich getrennt, die sich mit anderen Kabeln auch nicht restlos beseitigen ließen. Ich habe den Test mehrmals wiederholt, die Ergebnisse bleiben konsistent, aber für mich unerklärlich. Die 35 MB/s sind zwar für Gigabit LAN nicht berühmt, aber immerhin ...

Unter Vista reichte es nur das Gerät anzuschließen und danach die Treiber CD einzulegen und den Windows Installationsassistenten durchlaufen zu lassen. Es funktioniert auch hinter einem USB-Hub. Aufgrund dieser Einfachheit und weil lediglich nur der Treiber installiert wird und keine zusätzlichen Programme oder andere sinnlosen Gimmiks, verdient das Gerät eigentlich 5 Sterne.
Jedoch muss ich einen Stern abziehen, da ich auf allen Rechnern unter XP große Probleme damit hatte das Gerät zu installieren. Im Geräte-Manager erschien immer ein gelbes Ausrufezeichen und Fehlercode 39.
Ich habe das Gerät DUB E100B (Version1). So wie es den Anschein hat, ist auf der CD für diese Hardware-Version ein defekter Xp-Treiber dabei.
Die Lösung:
Nach längerem Suchen habe ich dann im ftp-Downloadbereich von D-link (ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dub/dub-e100/driver_software) einen funktionierenden Treiber(DUB-E100_drv_RevB1_v3-40_en_070504.zip) für XP gefunden. Jedoch muss man dann noch im Geräte-Manager diesen Treiber manuell zuweisen. Adapter macht was er soll
Installation über mitgelieferte CD bei Ultrabook (mangels CD-ROM-Laufwerk) nicht möglich und hierfür ist der Adapter eigentlich nur sinnvoll. Man hätte den Treiber auch in einem flash-Speicher unterbringen können, wie es bei WLAN-Sticks üblich ist, aber der download funktionierte über eine WLAN-Verbindung (die muß man dann aber erst mal haben). Über USB 3.0 läßt sich dann tatsächlich 1GBIT-LAN realisieren. Allerdings wird der Adapter bei mir nicht sicher erkannt, wenn das Ultrabook im Ruhezustand war; vorübergehendes Umstecken in den USB 2.0 Anschluß hilft. Ob es nun am neuen Ultrabook (Lenovo U330p), am Betriebssystem Win7pro oder am Adapter mit Treiber liegt ist nicht zu beantworten.

Funktioniert unter win8 und win8.1
Stick wurde gekauft weil das Mininotebook (wenn man es so nennen darf) von meinem Chef ein Acer Iconia W510 nur einen normalen USB 2.0 Port aber keinen LAN Stecker hat. Dies ist in Firmenumgebungen ohne Wlan natürlich grandios. Der Stick lief mit den mitgelieferten Treibern sofort und ohne Probleme und auch das Update dieser auf eine neuere Version war einwandfrei.
Stick wurde ausführlich über 36 Std durchgehend getestet und mit knapp 8gb Daten durch knapp 140 Updates davon win8.1 belastet, ohne Beanstandung.

Gutes Produkt - wenn nur der richtige Treiber dabei gewesen wäre!
Nachdem ich mit Hilfe einer anderen Rezension den richtigen Treiber gefunden hatte, lief der Adapter problemlos an.
Es handelte sich um die Version "C1" (findet man auf einem der Aufkleber) und der Treiber auf der beigelegten CD war noch für Version "A"...
Wahrscheinlich hatte der Hersteller zuviele Treiber CD's geordert und wollte erst sein Lager räumen - egal, wieviele Hardware Versionen er zwischenzeitlich herausbringt.

da die meisten Ultras kein RJ-45 mehr haben, was verständlich her, muss ein Adapter her.
Der D-Link wurde mir von einem Acer Händler empfohlen.
CD mit Software (notwendig) ist dabei. Treiber installier, Adapter läuft.

Ganz ordentlich
Ich hatte den Adapter unter Windows XP Professional an einem Laptop über einen USB-Hub angeschlossen. Er verrichtete ganz ordentlich seine Arbeit. Allerdings gab es eine Konstellation, die etwas Schwierigkeiten bereitet: Wenn man den Adapter an eine Fritz!Box anschließt und diese auf dem Ethernet-Port Stromsparen aktiviert hat, dann dauert es einige Zeit, bis eine Kommunikation möglich ist. Wer hier der Schuldige ist, kann ich nicht beurteilen - die Lösung sieht derart aus, dass man der Fritz!Box das Stromsparen auf dem Port abgewöhnen muss.
