Use them all the time, but the magnets on the bottom are pretty weak. I'd recommend replacing them if you're going to stick it to anything textured.

The previous reviewers have clearly indicated the their likes and dislikes about this Cuisinart Magnetic Grilling Spice Set, and all have a valid point. Here's the summary list of positives and negatives about this set, purely based on my experience with it.
- The overall look and design is definitely a plus. I appreciate the fact that I can twist the lid and cover the shaker's' holes. That keeps the moisture out, making your spices last longer and stay fresh longer.
- The set feels a bit flimsy, plastic-y (even with a lot of metal in the overall design) which is a huge surprise to me due to Cuisinart's generally positive reputation. I would prefer the body of the set to be made out of glass, not plastic.
- Pepper/spice grinder is somewhat tricky to figure out without instructions. Turns out, the side opposite to the lid with a large G, simply pulls out.
- Pepper grinder is also tricky to adjust. You have to rotate the screw under the G lid. It allows you to adjust the settings from coarse to fine. My biggest gripe about the the grinder is its inconsistency. When adjusted to coarse, the size of ground peppers varies significantly. Adjusting to a fine setting requires a lot of tightening of the screw that tends to get loose. Once secure however, the fine setting works OK.
Overall, this Cuisinart Magnetic Grilling Spice Set is a good addition to anyone's collection of kitchen tools. It fits well outside, attached to you grill, and looks equally appropriate on the kitchen counter. It has that contemporary, attractive, streamlined look that will benefit a kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

Based on the description, I had expected one of the three pieces to be a combo salt and pepper shaker. My bad. Actually there is a salt shaker and a grinder that works fine for pepper, or you could use the grinder for some other spice if you preferred. The third piece is intended for a rub. The salt shaker opens with a twist, exposing the usual little holes, which are big enough that I can salt my steak without too much effort. I don't like it when the holes are too small and it's hard to get the salt out. It's big enough to hold a fair bit of salt. The "rub" container opens by rotating the top, like the salt container, but the opening is a single, larger oval hole. I am using it for lime pepper, which is one of my favorites. With both of these the top unscrews to fill them. The grinder took some effort to figure out. To fill it you have to pull the bottom off of the clear part. This takes some effort, and with no instructions it was not obvious how to get it open. Once it is filled, you take off the top to use it. Again, this takes some real effort. Perhaps they will loosen up with use. The clear parts are plastic, not glass, so don't get them too close to the heat. The magnetic bases are strong enough to keep them in place. We are using them in our RV, where the magnetic bases keep them in place while we are driving, so they are excellent for that use. All in all I like them.

This is a set of three spice containers suitable for a backyard grill. The 3 containers stand 5.25” tall and are 2” in diameter. They are labelled on their tops “G” for grinder, “S” for salt, and “R” for rub. The grinder is essentially meant for pepper corns, but other spices could be ground in it as well. It holds just under ¼ cup in the reservoir. The salt and rub containers hold about 1 cup each. They have lids that twist open or shut. The containers are constructed of plastic and metal, with black plastic on the insides, and a 1.5” transparent plastic window so you can easily see if they need to be refilled. Above and below the window are metal sides. The bottom has a strong magnet in it so that the containers can be stuck either vertically or horizontally to metal surfaces, like the sides or door of a metal grill.
I am very grateful to a previous Amazon reviewer for explaining how the pepper grinder works, since there are no instructions in the box. After spending 15 minutes struggling with grinder, and nearly getting a screwdriver to try and take it apart, I read the other reviews for advice. One reviewer was kind enough to share the fact that the bottom of the pepper grinder simply pulls straight off. The screw on the inside of the top adjusts the tension on the grinder, so that screw doesn’t need to be taken out to refill the container. To use the grinder after filling it, you unscrew the top, hold the grinder upside down, and twist the bottom. The grinder blade appears to be ceramic, so it won’t corrode with damp weather.
The other 2 containers are simple enough to figure out. You just unscrew the tops to open the containers to fill them. Each lid has sprinkling holes in it that are concealed within the top. We ordered this set, not to be used outdoors for the BBQ, but for our use at the table indoors. Our old set is way too tall and each keep getting knocked over! They are the regular salt and whole pepper type, so we have been looking for a new replacement set that would hold regular salt, and one to grind whole pepper corns. Most of the sets we've seen are for grinding both salt and pepper. We really like this new set (though we have not used the Rub container yet.) They are made of metal and clear plastic, are sturdy and attractive looking on the table, with very modern-looking clean lines. The pepper mill works beautifully, though it took a bit of time to figure it out.....the bottom (magnet end) pulls straight off to load the pepper corns, the grind adjustment is in the top under the lid with the G. To use the grinder, simply turn it over after removing the lid and twist. The salt shaker has five holes, bigger than necessary, but du-able. All three containers have metal lids, two that twist to reveal holes either for salt or a Rub (one large hole). Cuisinart has made a great grilling spice set for outdoors, or in our case, inside. Only 4 stars because there are no instructions included, especially for the pepper mill.

Out of the box this spice set was attractive with a clean, modern stainless steel appearance. The two shakers were easily opened and held a generous amount. I liked how the top rotated to cover the shaker holes when not in use. I also appreciated the fact that the holes are large enough to dispense my pink Himalayan salt and my home made dry rub. On the other hand, I found it impossible to open the grinder module in order to add spices and found absolutely no directions on or in the box. My son finally found that one must turn the top just right and pull it off. The magnets are strong enough to hold the shakers in place on a flat surface and will stay on a vertical surface only if empty. I found that when the shaker is filled, the magnet is not strong enough and the shaker will slide downward until it falls off whatever it is attached to - unlike the photo included on the item page.
Despite the difficulty opening the grinder and the magnet not working on a vertical surface, I believe I will still find plenty of use for this shaker set.

We really like this grilling spice set from Cuisinart. It comes with the three shakers with a written purpose on the sides of them for bbq rub, spice milling, and salt. The magnets work pretty well in that they hold up even on our fridge without issue. We were using them there to prep some meat for a cookout and it was really convenient to just get this stuff out of the way but still have it in easy access for just grabbing.
The design looks sleek. It does plastic for the clear part and not glass as others have mentioned but honestly I prefer that. Think of how dangerous these would be if they fell and had glass there. Have a deck you're grilling on or perhaps some stone patio of some form? The minute one of these shattered if they were hit by mistake and lost the magnetic hold it would turn into one huge mess. At least with it being plastic it's unlikely to shatter.
I like this set and would suggest it for a wedding present. It's nice and easy and a really cool to get for anyone who likes to do cook outs.

These magnetic shakers essentially do the same thing as other pepper shakers... Other than they have a magnet in them and are made of better/more durable material.
The grinder is opened by pulling apart the top and bottom. I attached a photo so that reviewers and potential purchasers can see. Other than that, you may have broken it trying to figure it out.
Since BBQing can by messy, this is a good idea to have a magnet in them. Especially one of this size and strength. You can stick them on anything that a magnet can be stuck on.

Nice idea... but the execution is clunky. The two shakers have a large hole that you can cover over by twisting the top. That works for rubs, where you need a lot of the spice, but it's not so great for salt. You can't control how much salt you use unless you pour it into your hand. As for the grinder -- I just can't figure out how it works. In the photo, I see peppercorns in the chamber, but I can't get them there. The lid to the chamber doesn't twist off, only the lid to the grinder part. That container came with a crack in the plastic chamber, and the metal part is already loose because of my attempts to figure it out, and it won't tighten back up. The shakers are magnetic, and I thought they'd work well for my kitchen (I hate when I knock a salt or pepper shaker over) but these really are clunky and overly complicated. And plastic -- for the price, I would have expected glass.

I love the sleek and creative design. They sit beautifully on the counter top or can be magnetically stuck to the grill side. I also like the clear center which helps me determine when I need to make a refill. Cleaning is easy. Grease or sauce is easily wiped off with a soapy sponge. My only issue, as some reviewers already pointed out, is that there is no instructions. Most of us would not have trouble figuring out the two of the three. The grinder took me some time to figure out how to open it without breaking it. I twisted and turned the only part that actually rotates and grinds up the spices or pepper. Finally, with a pull, it's finally opened. Thankfully I did not break it with too much force. A small instruction should been provided. Other than that, really, these are beautiful spice bottles.

Salt shaker: empty weight: 4.4 oz.
Rub dispenser: empty weight: 4.4 oz.
Each is 5.25" tall and has a 2" diameter.
The magnetic bases are great to attach to any metal grill and are especially useful if you plan on storing them upside down on the underside of your grill. Just make sure that you close them before turning upside down! (not that I did that)
I would have liked the salt shaker to have a free pour opening to go along with the sprinkler opening. Also, I would have liked the rub dispenser to have a sprinkler opening to go along with the free pour opening.

PROS: The overall look and design is sleek and modern. The magnetic base is the best feature about the set. They stick to the metal grill on the side of the grill. This would make them perfect for an RV. The Pepper Mill grinder is hard plastic. It will not rust and it works well. The salt and rub shaker have rotating tops so you can control the amount of output. The pepper mill has an adjustable screw at the base.
Cons: Only 4 stars because there are no instructions and it was a challenge to figure out how to fill the pepper mill. Each one is made of stainless steel and plastic components. I’m not sure how long each container will last under normal wear and tear. It just doesn't strike me as the highest quality.

These are very nice! The trio fit well on the grill, we have plenty of rubs and BBQ spices so we can use them handily when cooking. The salt and pepper is a nice touch as well as a grinder for the other spices we might use. In practice being able to see the quantity left takes the guesswork out of when to fill them. At the cost of these items Cuisinart could have filled them with some spices which are common and would have added a nicer touch and that is why the 4 stars.

I love the salt and rub shakers with this set but the grinder is okay at best. The grinder has plastic parts and does not grind evenly. I am getting some really large chunks and a few small ones. It does not matter how I try to adjust the grinder mechanism.
I do like the strong magnets on the shakers. They are modern and attractive looking but I probably would not recommend or buy because of the grinder.

Terrible product. There is zero metal involved in the making of these tubes and just the cheapest grade of plastic they could possibly find. I cant recommend this at all.
It feels so cheaply made that I thought I was going to break the salt grinder every time I tried to use it.
Do not buy! THis is not the quality you would expect from Cuisinart!

This is a great set for grilling and indoor use. The way I grill is marinate inside and grill outside, this will have some use outside but will be mainly used inside. The Salt and Rub is just the standard shaker and the Peppermill is a decent grinder. To add pepper, just pull the bottom off and add the peppercorn then grind by removing the top and turning. Great set, looks awesome too.

I don't have any complaints about this set. They magnet down to my BBQ beautifully and distribute spices as I'd expect them to. I suppose it's handy to have a larger pepper grinder for maximum torque but this one works fine. For the money, this seems like a good set for my needs.

Magnetic spice containers... brilliant idea! Essential seasonings are close as hand and won't get knocked over as easily as other types. The magnets are pretty strong, it would take a pretty strong wind to dislodge them

Really Poor Quality
I had high hopes based on the reviews but was ultimately disappointed. The lid doesn't always fully open, sticking halfway up and the water level indicator doesn't always respond when adding water, suddenly jumping from whatever level it was at to a new level. Cuisinart advised that "this certainly does not sound normal" so I'll be requesting a replacement from Amazon.

I received a replacement and would still rate this as 1*.
a) The lid doesn't always fully open, sticking halfway up - this occurs when the kettle is hot, doesn't seem to occur when cold. Not a show stopper but how did this not get fixed after product testing?
b) The water level indicator doesn't always respond when adding water, the extent of this depends on the residual level of water, it's better on this replacement than the first unit received but still evident.
c) Oddly, if you decide to add more cold water whilst the kettle is heating, 10 seconds later the kettle stops heating.

Not all as it appears but still a good kettle
My model had a fault where the temperature would show 85c at then when it boiled when set to 85c, it would show 75c for ten seconds then go back to 85c. The kettle is different from the original and a eco model so the LED's go out after boiling. I would reccomend them, they are fantastic kettles.
Alas it says on the amazon website these are new and the date they got stock was Feb 2019, now this gives the impression you are getting a 2019 kettle. Mine was made in fact made in 2017, as I contacted cuisineart to make sure this was a real fault. So don't expect your kettle is shiny new it may have been sitting boxed for two or more years, which feels wrong somehow, but Cuisineart where brilliant and its being replaced by them, hopefully from a newer batch. All round great service and the kettle boils fast and pours very well.

So far so good - top variable temperature kettle
Very stylish kettle which allows automatic switch off at different temperatures. Other kettles have the temperature mechanism on the separate base of the kettle, but this has it on the handle, which seems preferable and frees the mechanism from liquid, which can get into the base all too easily. Very impressive and solid gadget with long guarantee.
I hope this lasts longer than previous variable temperature kettles. So far, exceptional!

This was to replace a previous almost identical Cusinart kettle which I had for at least 5years. This model is slightly posher (polished handle and lid). Having to get used to not seeing the blue light on all the time showing the temperature, but I suppose it saves electricity so should not complain. So far no complaints, hope it lasts as long!

I bought this kettle because I wanted the ability to see the amount of water I was putting into the kettle if I was just making 1 cup or 4 cups and the function of just heating the water to 85C to make coffee is a must have for my wife,
It lights up in a nice blue and is very visual the control panel is very clear and definitive to use and the LED displays the temperature of the water from when you fill it up from the tap wright up to when it switched off with 5 short beeps to let you know it is done.

Великолепно
Easy to use
My favourite kettle of all time. Easy to get water at just the temperature you want. Instant coffee tastes so much better at 85deg and many other drinks benefit from temperatures other than just the regular boiling .

Too noisy
The kettle was very noisy and beeped five times when it had completed its boil!
