Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II are very good quality sound for that price, I use to review my mixing session from Cubase, my KRK Rockit 5 are my center mix stage and the Gigaworks supplier the reference to check the mix on desk speakers for desktop music. Really really a nice reference system! good bass, clear mids and soft an very clear hi frequencies. My final mastering are secure for both, big and small musics systems. Thank You!

I wanted some speakers to enhance the sound from my bedroom TV and took time to research what was out there. I was inclined to purchase speakers from a very prominent manufacturer but my review led me to choose the Creative GigaWorks T20 Series ii 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System. The sound is out of this world and better, much better than I anticipated. The vendor delivered on time.

I had these speakers in my office for over a year and recently bought another pair for home. They provide great sound without requiring the extra space for a subwoofer. Controls for volume, bass and treble are conveniently located on the front of the right speaker. It also houses a headphone jack and an aux input easily connecting a phone, ipod, etc.

I bought this speakers for myself and was very happy with them until I got another pair for my husband going up a level and shelling for the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with BasXPort Technolgy, . I wish now I had gone for this ones for myself to begin with. They are so much better. It is worth the $$ difference. We use them for our laptops for movies, internetTV and music when at the farm (where his are), and at home (with this T20 model). I will get another pair of the T40 for myself and move the T20 to the new RV where I can't have them that loud. I am spoiled with his (T40) ....and the ones provided in the RV'are intolerable when I think of how good ours sound. I know there are better and more expensive ones out there as well as more complete sets like home theaters, etc. but the T40 is just ok for us as we would'nt play them any louder than they can go, and they sounds pretty good even going all the way up,and pretty loud too...or loud enought that you might, at night think at moments that the neighbors (live in a house) are going to call the police. This is not a comparison with systems with subwoofers etc. It is just for a pair of speakers that we can move around the house if we need to, without complication and pleasant to your ears even at its highest volume, and enought high volume. The T20 are pretty good at lower to medium high, but not good to go all the way up with volume where there is very noticable distortion. For an idea on how loud the volume is on the T20,the medium high volume will NOT let the person next room go to sleep. Overall, at any volume level, my husband's (T40) sound much better and louder. So If you can afford it and want a bit more than just good computer speakers go for the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with BasXPort Technolgy....Just make sure they will fit where you want them, as they are a bit taller...and heavier...We are very happy with them.

I've returned this product for twice to get a proper one.When I received the first speaker, one of the tweeter unit falls in the speaker box.The second time, the left bass unit is not so vibrate than the right one.Despite all the flaw, the sound it makes is pretty descent. Better than the Bose Companion 2.So, If you don't mind the trouble. It will be money well spent.

I just set up these speakers with a hP all-in-one desk top computer. My review is based upon casual listening, usually while checking email or paying bills! So, I am not going to critique these from the Audiophile point of view. I purchased these upon prior reviews and I liked the way they look. I like that they are small and fit nicely next to the computer monitor. I did not want a subwoofer on the floor, and these speakers can deliver decent bass, which can be tweaked with your computer sound equalizer. I listen to all genres of music, and overall the sound from these speakers is excellent. Not at all hollow and thin like some other external computer speakers I have heard. The sound is clean, crisp, and pleasing. You can get a fair amount of volume, but I usually listen at lower volumes because the speakers are so close to your head. If you are looking for good sound from a compact desk top speaker, I recommend these Creative T20 speakers highly. If you are after audiophile listening, then you should be looking for much pricier equipment. I gave 4 stars because I was not blown away by the sound, and I am a hard grader!

I used to have the original, I guess Series I, unfortunately, my ex took it, so I bought the T40, but did not like it, so I said, maybe I will go back to the smaller version, the T20 so I bought this one, but got very dissappointed at the sound as it lost the clarity of the original. The original had much better highs and mids, a very good soundstage and presence, but these two newer models did improved on the bass, but it lost the most important area, the midrange and the crystal highs.

These little guys sound amazing. They put the Hi in Fi! The best sounding, no subwoofer, no wire rat nest, no non-sense small powered, stereo speakers money can buy for under $100. PERIOD! And I have 35 years of buying and selling audio equipment.

My boyfriend has a Mac Air and is very into music. He was unhappy with the sound quality from the built in speakers and kept complaining about them. So for his birthday, I decided to buy him some external speakers. I thought I was going to buy Bose, because they have such a good reputation. But I started reading all the reviews and found the Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II got better reviews. Well, as I said, he's really into music and he can't get over the sound of these new speakers. He keeps telling me he's hearing things he never heard before, even on his desktop speakers. I've been listening also, and love the sound, especially the quality of the bass. Plus they were super easy to hook up. Totally satisfied!

i use the creative t40 speakers on my desk at work (i worked a night shift where i was alone for 5 hours each evening for 2 months) and I became accustomed to how much clean bass and crispy mids and highs could come out of a 2 speaker system. When I demoed these t20's at my friends house after i gave them to him, I was surprised how well they compared to the t40s

I got these from another online retailer; they were an "open box" deal and about half price (nice!).I was upgrading from Creative T12 wired computer speakers. I was really happy with the T12s but couldn't pass up these for the price.Disclaimer: I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do enjoy clear and strong speakers for listening to music on my PC. Given what I value in a speaker, I honestly don't think the T20s are significantly better than the T12s they replaced. The T20 may be a bit louder, but actual sound quality is about the same (clear highs, defined and not muddy bass). The loudness factor is probably due to the T20s being larger than the T12s.All that being said, these speakers (and the T12s) are impressive for not having a subwoofer. My recommendation is if you're looking for a set of 2.0 PC speakers, definitely check these out, but compare them to the Creative T12 as well.

These speakers seem to be really well made and have very high quality knobs, but creative has put too much effort into making low and high quantity far greater than quality. The treble quality is quite poor, it's screechy and doesn't seem to be smooth throughout the 8khz to 12khz range, there are peaks at different parts of the spectrum. The bass, similarly, is too boomy and quite uncontrolled. The midrange, contrary to what others have said, I find to be quite adequate and cannot find any real fault with it. However, these are overall pretty disappointing speakers for the price, but I don't know why I was expecting stereophillic quality with Creative. Going to try the JBL duet III now.

I am disappointed for the price I paid for these in the lack of balanced sound. Highs and Lows are well represented, but a weak mid range ruins the listening experience. Sadly, no amount of equalization will compensate. Seriously Creative, what were you thinking when you choose to release these flawed speakers?

I have a pair of these sitting on either side of my iMac at work and they're fantastic! During the day I can't have them up very loud, but even at low volumes the sound is very clear and well balanced. If I do happen to get in early, or have work late I can crank these puppies up and rock without any distortion or breakup! I will say this, I like to listen to my music flat (no boost in the treble or bass) but for the purpose of this review I turned up the treble and bass knobs just to hear the response.TREBLE: The treble boost is EXCELLENT even at high volumes! When I turn up the treble at low volumes it gives the mix a nice 'airy' and 'open' sound. Even as I turn up the overall volume the treble never becomes harsh or painful to listen to.BASS: When I turn up the bass knob at low volumes it gives some nice fullness to the low end of the mix. Once I start turning up the overall volume with the bass boosted, I start hearing some distortion and muddiness.Aside from GREAT sound, the Aux In and Headphone jacks on the front are a HUGE plus! I sometimes have to go back and forth from speakers to headphones and this makes it so much easier! If there's something on my iPod that's not on my work computer, instead of having to go download some iPod searcher software, I just run a 1/8" jack out of my iPod into the Aux In and voila... I have my personal music library at work! I know a lot of people who have spent twice as much for speakers that sound just as good as these. Bose Companion... eat your heart out.

I have owned these speakers for almost 5 years I would say. They are the most bang for your buck is you need good sound for a house with that said, I use them with not just a laptop but gaming systems and my Roku for good mobile sound when ever I need it. I would buy these speakers again without hesitation, that is if I ever do need to buy another set. These babies are loud and powerful for their size and give off very clean sound.

This set of speakers is pretty neat. I think they do their job pretty well. I've had them since March of this year and they go loud! The bass is really thumping even when at lower registers. Treble I don't mess with too much so it either doesn't do much or I just don't notice. I use these with headphones a lot and although the sound is nice with them sometimes I wish it could be cranked just a little louder.Great but falls a little short of exceptional. For the price of $70 bucks though I think they are convenient and worth it. Toodles!4.3 stars.

I've had the original T20's for several years now, but as the drivers are the same, i am reviewing the newer version listed here.For the size of these speakers, the sound is VERY GOOD. i design and build my own speakers, so i am quite impressed with these little speakers. THe bass is tight and adequate, the mids and highs are smooth and detailed, all frequencies are represented nicely. The bass-reflex tuned ports work well, but collect dust on the top. The internal amp is also very good with more than enough power, good transient response, and low distortion. Love the seperate tone controls and power/vol pot on the front as well as the front and back inputs. They are a little top-heavy and can tip over if you're not careful though. Although i havent heard them, i would imagine the newer T40 design to sound even better with the MTM configuration, but the T20s are a very good sounding speaker for a reasonable price and small form factor. I actually use mine as completely portable speakers as well, running them off several battery packs (i have a velcro strip on the back of the powered speaker to attach a rechargeable battery back with a jack adapter to the power input). Disclaimer: They work very well off battery power, but i do not recommend doing this unless you know what you are doing with electronics, and i'm sure you would void your warranty. I use 11.1v Lipo and 12v NiMH packs from RC models, and the speakers and a battery fit perfectly in an old padded case i have, making them great-sounding small and truly portable speakers.

Speakers were fine for a while. They had decent tone and a nice look on my desk. After a year and a half of reasonable use (warranty is for 12 months), any movement in the volume knob now creates hissing and loud popping in the left speaker. Dissatisfied with spending $100 on this junk.

I bought this after getting another 2 speaker system, and returning it. That one cost about 30 bucks, and sounded like crap and you could only put them about 2.5 feet apart. You get what you pay for, this one is worth every penny. Everything about it well made, thoughtful and well done. It's a great product and it sounds amazing for it's size, and for it's price.Buy this, you can't go wrong.Note: One of the reasons I got this was because it uses a standard RCA cable to attach the two speakers, I needed them to be further apart then the included cable provided, but for 2 bucks I got a extension and the problem was solved. Most of the cheap ones have a built in cable you can't extend. Just another reason to get this one.

As usual when I start looking for something like this sight unseen, and without actually listening to them, I read many reviews. I also compare reviews of many different ones such as Bose, JBL, Altec Lansing, and others. Most of the reviewers seemed to be very impressed with these. Let me tell you, I am also very much impressed with these fabulous little speakers. These things sound great! They aren't much larger than my old Infinity units, that don't hold a candle to these. I am loving my office right now. Way to go CREATIVE!!

I get great sound from these speakers. Not the very deep, floor shaking bass you get with a subwoofer, but deep bass none the less. I am extremely please with these. I use them on my Mac Pro 2009.

I got a pair of these refurb a few years ago and they continue to perform flawlessly. Pristine highs, solid mid-range, and excellent bass response. I live in a 1000 sq ft apartment and these speakers are more than loud enough to fill the space with power to spare, and without coming close to breaking up. I use them for my TV, iPod, Computer. They're all around great!

I bought these speakers to replace a cheap set with a sub woofer. The bass from the former speakers could be heard unpleasantly all over the house which disturbed my wife and I didn't like that sound either. I bought these thinking I would sacrifice some bass but be able to play them louder. To my pleasure I have not sacrificed any bass and the mid-range is perfect for me. Allows me to play them as much as I want without disturbing anyone.I am really looking forward to running my MP3 player into them, I wonder if I could take them into other rooms with that feature. I will have to try it.In short any review under a 4 is either comparing them to regular speaker systems from a large receiver or is a suspicious review because these are as good as can get for the money and purpose.

These speakers more than met my expectations. I would have liked about 10% more bass but I have to remember they are 2.0 not 2.1. Clear clean sound and nice volume. I highly recommend these speakers.

Bought 2 sets of these - one for work and one for home. Love them both. Takes some time to "break them in" but eventually the sound smooths out and becomes rich and bold. I highly recommend them if you have the time for the "break in".

At first they were great! All the great things you've read about in all of the other great reviews. WATCH OUT FOR QUALITY though! I've lived in the same place for the last 2 years and I purchased these speakers after hours of research - looking for a speaker that had a fuller sound, was compact, and had separate adjustments for bass and treble - and they have not moved from my desk since the day I received them. Thus, they've never been dropped, they've never been listened to at a loud noise volume (one reason why I wanted the separate controls is because I have a brain condition from a car accident that means that I can't listen to deep basses nor listen to loud music). In essence, I've been the 'perfect' user.Over the past several months, the speakers have gotten quieter and quieter. Presently, this pattern has accelerated and I now have the volume knob at full blast and the computer volume settings are also on full blast. The volume is so low that I can't hear the speakers unless I'm sitting directly in front of my computer.So realizing all of this, I emailed the company.Their fixes, you ask?Buy another set of speakers from them.What?!Wow, I can't believe how poor build quality is now.Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed.I spent more money than I should have on these speakers, assuming that paying more would mean that they would last longer and have a nicer quality...I'm regretting that assumption now.I would be curious to see what others experiences have been for those users who have had these speakers for a few years.Oh! And yeah, that 1 - year limited warranty is no joke. The next speakers I'll buy will be from a place like Costco in case something like this happens again.

These speakers work quite well & replaced a 10 year old pair. Time will tell how well they hold up under normal playing. If you have a desk more than five or so feet long and want to place speakers at ends of desk, you will probably want to use an extension, as cords are not very long.

I was looking for a set of speakers with good sound, but since I live in an apartment, I didn't need something that would shake the house. These speakers do the job quite well. They have good bass sound, and are just loud enough for my needs. Easy to set up and a great price are a couple of extras. I would recommend them to friends.

THESE SPEAKERS ARE GREAT AFFORDABLE DESKTOP SPEAKERS GOOD BASS AND MID TREBLE BUTTONS. I USE THEM WITH MY MAIN COMPUTER AND CREATIVE X-FI TITANIUM PCIE CARD GREAT COMBO.THEY ARE RATED T 20 WATTS. BE WARE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BLOW ME OF MY SEAT SPEAKERS THEN THESE ARE NOT THEM BUT IF YOU WANT MID TO GREAT SOUND THESE ARE NICE.I GAVE UP MY LOGITECH 5.1 SURROUND FOR THESE BECAUSE ALL WIRES FOR 5 SPEAKERS.I HAVE TO SAY I DID NOT REGRET IT.

These are good speakers-- well suited to listening to music while sitting at your computer. They are not miracle boxes and cannot fill a room with sound, so do not expect them to be a substitute for bookshelf speakers.In my case, they replace a comparable set of Klipsch computer speakers that crapped out after a couple of years, and they do a good job. You can coax even better sound out of them if you are willing to play with your graphic equalizer a little bit. I listen mostly to classical music at work, and after dialing them in I am very happy with them.The price went down significantly right after I bought them, so I feel a little ripped-off price-wise, but that is what happens sometimes. They are definitely a good deal in the sub-$70 range.No judgment on durability yet, because they are new. I'll be back if there are any problems.

In terms of value per dollar these speakers IMHO sit at or near the top of the very crowded PC speaker market. Of course you're not going to get room shaking bass from a ported 3" (thereabouts...don't have the exact spec handy) driver. Instead, there is a pleasingly ripe little mid-bass bump which is entirely appropriate for these sorts of speakers. And yes, I guess the midrange is a bit recessed compared to some other PC speakers. Depending on your point of view one or the other will sound more "neutral." All speakers at this price point are a m?lange of various tradeoffs and it's here where I think these speakers deliver brilliantly; good bass/treble and low distortion that stays low with more output. If that sounds good to you then buy these speakers with confidence. I personally have not had any of the quality issues mentioned by other readers but I don't doubt them either. Another point in their favor is their tolerance (in my experience) of varying levels of line-in voltage. By that I mean you can either plug them into a motherboard's PC-out jack, a sound card or the headphone jack on a laptop and they sound great in all three situations. I've even used them plugged into a cable converter box and they can easily fill a living room with low distortion sound.All in all you will be hard pressed to find a better buy. Think twice if you want to hear Margo Timmins breath into the microphone or are leery of Creative's somewhat suspect customer service.Cheers.

I've spent several frustrating hours testing both the Bose Companion 2 Series II and Creative Gigaworks T20 series II. These are two very different sounding sets of speakers, with their own strengths and weaknesses. I am well aware of the major limitations of such small speakers, but even taking this into account neither pair is satisfactory, with both being disappointing for different reasons. I expected bass response to be an issue, but it really isn't for either, although the Bose did exhibit a small amount of distortion with some material. The problem with these speakers is with everything else!The T20s have clean, clear highs, and plenty of undistorted bass, but their midrange response is severely lacking. Vocals often seem distant and swamped by other instruments. The overall result is a bright warm sound, but with a very noticeable lack of detail and presence.The Companion IIs on the other hand are very mid-range heavy, pushing vocals right out to the front. Sometimes too much, making spoken word material sound boomy. Unfortunately Bose have managed to do something remarkable, in that the Companions II sound both muffled and bright at the same time! I attribute this to the "TrueSpace" processing, which actively changes the sound to make it seem more spacious. Whilst it does achieve this effect, it also does weird things to the dynamic range, and overall these speakers sound too forceful and not very natural. What is really amusing is that Bose put a note in the box claiming that that, unlike other manufactures, their speakers do not introduce artificial effects to make the speakers sound more pleasing ( I kid you not!).OK, so on the positive side, The T20s have tone controls which allow one to tweak the sound to a certain extent (but they don't fix the mid-range problem). The Bose `s dynamic compression make them sound better at very low volume levels, and so would probably sound OK if you just want quiet background music whilst you are working, or of you plan to use them in an environment with a lot of background noise. Oh, and it would appear that Bose have taken note of peoples comments about the lack of a power button. The volume control now has an off position!Neither the T20s nor Companion IIs are deserving of their high recommended retail prices. They really should always be priced under one hundred dollars.I'll be returning both sets tomorrow. My search continues :-(

I got these on Tuesday and I am returning them on Friday. Some of the reviews were mixed, but I just wanted "decent" speakers for under $100. There is nothing decent about these. The mid-range is not "bad", it is none existent. They sound like tin. The free speakers with most computers are not much worse than these. I have purchased in the past M-Audio speakers for about $100 which blow me away, but I needed something smaller for a new space. Not sure what I will get. Do NOT buy these if you have any kind of discerning ear.

I agree with others who have complimented the bass and treble and been disappointed by the midrange. The bass is thumping but you can totally lose vocals especially at high volumes. That said, overall I was pleased with the sound from these. You would believe they were 2.1 rather than 2.0.My complaint is with the customer service. There is a loud clicking noise when you turn these on and off (by twisting the volume nob to and from the off position). It sounds like some switch is being flipped. The off-click on my speakers has always been there, but the on-click became very fickle, and eventually totally stopped. For a while if I tried long enough eventually I would get an on-click, but now it has stopped entirely. And the speakers only turn on if there is a click. They became totally useless after 5 or so months.So I tried to get them serviced via Creative's website (too late to return to the store). Unfortunately they make it extremely difficult to even contact customer service. You have to enter your product information (including date of purchase) to be able to contact the service department at all. I fortunately had my receipt, but I was repeatedly told that my information was invalid (I did this many times--this was not a typo). Of course they would not let me contact them to tell them that my product information was not being accepted.The warranty is now up, and I am sick of trying to resuscitate these speakers. Upgrading to Logitech Z623's. I doubt I will buy from Creative again in the future. Great if they work, otherwise don't be surprised if you are SOL.

Before I purchased by T20s I spent hours researching. I've had the same 5.1 surround sound system for years and frankly I was just tired of it. It was okay for gaming when I first got it but over time I've changed my online habits. Now I game on the XBox 360 and tend to listen to music more on my PC. Between Pandora and iTunes I usually have music running in the background and the old 5.1s just weren't getting it.I compared many of the competitors in the $75 to $125 range and, after reading dozens of reviews, clicked BUY and ordered the T20s. They were delivered within a few days and it took longer to unhook the old speakers than it did to hook up the new ones. The speakers are aesthetically pleasing. They are surprisingly heavy, plenty of heft. They are just the right size for me and look good flanking my 23" Samsung monitor. The master speaker, the one with the controls, also has two 1/8 inch jacks - one for and aux input (iPod, etc) and one for head phones. I've used both of these and they work great - very handy.Actually I like the look of the speakers with the grills off, the yellow drivers look cool, but with kids I figured discretion is the better part of valor an reinstalled them almost immediately. When turned on the volume knob is backlit with a blue light - I didn't plan it but it matches the blue LEDs on my PC and the monitor. Nice.Then I fired up iTunes and played Dire Straights "On Every Street", a song I've used to test systems for years. Man, I had forgotten what I was missing. The 5.1s were all boom and sizzle but now I was able to hear the music the way it was made to be heard. I'm a musician and always had serious home stereo systems so I appreciate good tone. The 20s have their limitations but for the application I am using them for, near field music, they are superb.Any doubts I had about these speakers having enough bass kick were dispelled immediately. With the EQ flat (bass and treble at 12:00) and the volume on 3-5 they put out bright, clear, loud music with bass to spare. I found that I was able to further improve the performance of the speakers by tweaking the 10-band EQ on the audio card software.I'm sure that I could have spent more money and probably gotten speakers that were even better but I'm happy with my purchase. If my budget had been a bit higher I might have gotten the T40s instead. As it is, I am very happy with these speakers and feel that I have gotten a great deal for the C-note they cost me.

I purchased a Sony 42" TV that has a great picture, but not the best audio. I tried an old 12 year old speaker set-up (Altec Lansing) from an old Dell PC and it was better than the factory set-up, but it was tinny. Did some research for a 2.0 and picked these from reviews here and elsewhere. They are OK, but to be honest, they are no better than a $15.00 set of speakers from Walmart that I have in my garage. They are OK, but don't get your hopes up. In my opinion, they are more like a $35.00 set of speakers at the most and not $65.00

Pros: Out of the box this has got to be the best looking set of speakers that have ever hit the luxury marketplace. Setup using Windows7 64bit was easy as the the operating system recognized these speakers immediately. For a desktop speaker set that is 2.0 the plastic used to house the drivers is thick and polished; providing a matted sound quality. Left speaker uses an RCA style input jack into the 28w pre-amp located inside of the Right speaker. A big jump from my tinny sounding Labtech 5w 2.0 speakers.Cons: Overpriced at $100.00; but, it is the best in class for under $100.00 category for desktop 2.0 speakers. In the last two days that I have owned and used these speakers, while playing music through my video game play, my computer has locked up twice and required a reboot using the power button on the computer.Other thoughts: Even though the VIA High Definition audio chipset was having problems it is aligned in Device manager with AMD HD Audio and Game Controller; so, to fix this problem I had purchased from Amazon.com with this order a Startech USB 7.1 Surround Sound Remote Audio chipset component and decsided to go ahead and just use it. It too was recognized quickly and a driver was installed from Windows7 64bit. Now, this USB Controller is located within Sound and Audio Codecs in Device Manager between the AMD and VIA chipsets all working together on one frontside bus. (Note: The Startech Sound Card came with a driver disc and I suggest not using it with Windows7 64bit as Microsoft has packaged everything needed to get your perfered sound from these speakers; I suggest using the Custom (Metal) setting from the Media Player's Graphic Analyzer.)I would reccommend this purchase to others; my package came two days early from Amazon.com well packaged and undamaged.

These speakers are very good all-around for sound. But I am definitely one who prefers the added bass of a separate sub-woofer. If you feel the same, get a 2.1 speaker system instead.

As many others have mentioned, these sound just fine. The only flaw I've noticed is that the knobs are slippery, and therefore difficult to manipulate. Knurling them would be the obvious solution. On the negative side, pray that you never need to contact customer service ! You will NEVER reach a human, and the email responses I received were worse than useless. There are far too many alternatives in the marketplace to put up with such arrogance, and it will be a long, long, time before I purchase anything else from Creative Technologies.
