- + в целом качество фотографий достаточно высокое при хорошем освещении, макро - просто супер! большой выбор режимов съёмки, включая полностью ручной

- + Отличные снимки, даже поздно вечером снятые, оптический зум приравнивает этот апарат к шпинской технике. За не большие дениги вы получаете, почти полупрофессианальную камеру.
- - Цифровой зум на видео и видео не HD.
Рекомендую. Пользуюсь пол года, еще ни разу не пожалел о своем выборе. Достойная модель.

Понравился. Компактный размер. быстро фотографирует, без задержки... снимки для такого малыша, даже очень. Аккумулятор слабоват, нужен запасной. Да и карты памяти в комплекте нет, и встроенной тоже. Покупайте сразу вместе с камерой.

На первый взгляд ничем не примечательная мыльница. Ну компактная, ну корпус металлический. Однако если копнуть глубже, то выяснится что за неприметной внешностью спряталась качественная и шустрая камера на все случаи жизни.Купили мы S100 для любимой после того, как её Lumix решил нас покинуть раз и навсегда. Искали именно компактный вариант, который уместился бы в дамской сумочке, подходил для быстрых событийных снимков и умел снимать макро. Результаты всех приятно удивили. Светосильный объектив с довольно широким углом, оптическим стабилизатором и возможностью макросъёмки, быстрый и редко ошибающийся автофокус, возможность работать в RAW, возможность снимать видео в HD. Первое время очень раздражала выпрыгивающая вспышка (которую еще и убрать можно только через погружение на пару пунктов в меню), через неделю пользования привыкли, через месяц её появление уже никого не смущало. На автомате камера снимает довольно прилично, но так как качество иногда критично, объяснил и показал довольной владелице что такое приоритет выдержки, а заодно как удобно работать в ручном режиме. Далее на очереди практические занятия по работе с RAW: хватило наглядной демонстрации, чтобы хозяйка увидела насколько больше информации несёт снимок, если он не JPEG. А что касается разных визуальных эффектов и плюшек, моя любимая женщина не первый год ретуширует чужие снимки, подход у неё практичный: если будет надо, отредактирую сама.Единственный серьёзный недостаток у этой камеры - слабый аккумулятор. Иногда его с трудом хватает на день (даже без вспышки). Заказали второй.

I own this camera and have used it in many different settings, but am offering three instead of four stars for two main reasons.
1) The battery life. If you're a photo hound on a multi-day trip and anticipate taking quite a bit of photo and video footage each day, you're going to need to pack a pair of AA's for each day. When I'm on trips I will capture quite a bit, and the change battery warning will come on before I'm even through the afternoon. The battery life on this camera is not good, so bring a pack of batteries with you or invest in rechargeable ones, which I'm doing right now for my upcoming honeymoon.
2) The compact video mode. I'm sharing this mostly as a warning for the careless and clumsy among you, from a clumsy person. If you have the video mode on, be careful that you are not filming in "Compact" mode. This is indicated by the icon in the top right corner of your screen display. If it depicts a video camera with an envelope, you are in compact mode and the video output will be very small and illegibly grainy when played in a larger screen. This has ruined many projects of mine because I had accidentally spun the menu wheel on the right of the camera to turn on compact mode. The wheel can be sensitive so be sure to keep the Standard mode on, which is depicted by a video camera with tripod legs.
I love the camera. I just wish it stayed alive longer.

I like this camera. Once you learn operating it it's a great one considering capability, weight, size, power from AA batteries (you can buy "anywhere"). Bedouins in Sahara had no 110 volts outlet to recharge your battery, but they had AA Batteries. Great for back -country -yard -world -bedroom -selfie

I've had this camera for about 4 years, so I've spent a lot of time with it and can definitely attest to its high quality and durability. Canon is an exceptional brand and if you can't afford a DSLR or you want something more compact to carry around - then this is a really good option.
This camera has many manual settings, it lets you select everything from ISO speed to the white balance in the picture. You can take multiple consecutive shots, stitch photos together and it even has a setting for "micro" photos such as close ups of plants or bugs. Like other reviewers have stated, it does take a long time to load after using flash and it doesn't do well when there's not a lot of light. To take a picture without a lot of light you really need to use some type of tripod or improvise and set it on top of something so that you can adjust the ISO speed and the picture doesn't come out fuzzy. I played around with it a lot and I've found a balance. I can take pictures without a lot of light without much of a problem, but if you're new to photography, then it may take you some time.
This camera also goes through batteries very quickly! You really need to have an extra pair with you at all times. I use Duracel rechargeable batteries, and it isn't too much of an inconvenience. I just charge all 4 batteries before I go hiking, and that's normally enough to last the camera the whole trip.

IF YOU HAVE THIS CAMERA HANG ON TO IT!!!!!! YOU CANNOT FIND A BETTER MODEL THAN THIS ONE. AFTER HAVING OWNED THIS CAMERA FOR AT LEAST 7 YEARS, I STILL GET BETTER PICTURES WITH THIS CAMERA THAN I DO THE NEWER MODELS. CLEAR, CRISP, CLEAN PHOTOS. EASY TO USE.....LONG BATTERY LIFE, EASY TO TRANSFER TO MY COMPUTER.
DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF TRYING TO UPDATE YOUR CAMERA IF YOU OWN THIS ONE. IT'S A GREAT LITTLE CAMERA.

my first real Canon digital camera that functions with a speed and ease of use that I could rely on. Over the years the model has not changed much the quality speed accuracy and ease-of-use have stayed pretty much the same but so have the stats.
It's a little bulky for the pocket but for the zoom to comes with it is also easily held unlike most of the smaller cameras and the very handy for everyday shooting I couldn't choose to part with it all the way so I gave it to my father as an upgrade from his 4 megapixel camera I gave them a few years back.
For it every day walking around the street affordable camera I'd recommend this series of cameras this camera shot at about one photo per second are pretty much every time I hit the trigger makes it a little bit faster than some of the higher-end Canon cameras especially for the time the magnification on the zoom is perfect for it in range photography some of those super zooms are just beyond the cameras capability to keep the image stabilizer and know exactly what you're aiming at or looking for. The only thing I wish for this camera is that they had better low light sensitivity and at least six if not seven models in the series the sensitivity of the ISO has not progressed very much
