I'm not sure what happened, but the mechanism that extends and retracts the lens broke a few weeks after I bought the camera. Now I have to mail it to Canon and wait to see if I have to pay to get it fixed.

I am no great techy and did not spend a lot of time in chosing my camera but I knew what I was looking for: a decent digital camera made by a reputable camera company, something easy to use and of reasonable price. I can say that the PowerShot A560 really disapointed me. First of all - it runs on AA batteries. My first day of using it (after only owning it for 4 hours)the low battery sign came on - and that was only after taking maybe 15 pictures (and no - the camera was not on for 4 hours straight). Also, anything that I used the zoom for came out fuzzy and poor quality. The pictures not taken with the zoom were very good. I am returning this today and will pay more for a sony

This is a very affordable camera that offers good resolution and tons of manual controls for those who are starting to transition away from point and shoots. It uses AA batteries which work out pretty decently. The pictures are great. For the money though, I'd say it is one of the better cameras around.

I didn't need anything fancy, as I would guess most people don't. I don't mess with controls much, I don't need flawless 11 x 14 prints in every light/distance combination. I just wanted an inexpensive, point and shoot camera with good battery life. Mostly the my pictures get kept online, with occasional emailing or printing for frames. That is it and the A560 does it.

With a new baby on the way we wanted an easy to use, light weight, camera but also wanted all the fun features with out breaking the bank. My husband and I love this camera. There are a ton of options and features, it is very easy to operate and most importantly it takes great pictures. A great camera for the money, I highly recommend this item!!

Camera is very easy to use and I recommend it. Basic use is straightforward - manual is difficult to understand for many of the options which I don't need or want.

This camera is the best. It is soo handy and takes pic at a greater resolution. The video mode is also very good. Ur best bet for a good camera.

This is my 1st digital camera purchase and I am very satisfied overall. The camera is pretty user-friendly for a "non-photo maven" and the picture quality is good. Downloading is fairly simple. The software that comes with the Canon isn't the best--I used other software to edit/develop the pictures. Overall, I recommend this camera to those who want a basic, quality camera.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAMERA IS GREAT, EXCEPT THEY ONLY WENT WITH A 2 BATTERY SYSTEM. THAT MAKES THE BATTERIES NOT LAST AS LONG AS A 4 BATTERY ONE. THAT'S THE ONLY THING WRONG. CANNON MAKES A VERY GOOD PRODUCT IN ALL RESPECTS.

The camera was very easy to use thanks to the manuals that were sent along in the kit. The pictures I've taken are so clear, sharp, have vivid color. I'm thrilled by the shutter speed. Taking pictures of toddlers is difficult because they don't stand still. I am now able to capture to pictures I want instead of backs of heads! I love sharing my pictures!!

Looked at a lot of similar digital cameras. The camera is more responsive than others that we looked at including our previous Canon. This camera is a great deal.

My recent purchase was my second Canon PowerShot. I wanted to upgrade with a more powerful zoom capability. Wow - this zooms right in and is very stable. I love the user friendly instructions and the feel of the camera in my hand. I am so glad I stuck with Canon.

Nice size camera equipped with tons of features, the optical zoom is really great. The accompanying disk is easy to install and printing is as easy as pie. This was definitely a good purchase for me and I highly recommend this product.

I got this a couple of days back and have clicked a few snaps both indoor & outdoors ... close up, normal and max zoom.
The shape and feel is same as most of the A series cameras. Surprisingly it felt lightweight with batteries & SD card.
The colors come out good as canon pics always do. Some of the pics under the sun came out overexposed (auto mode) which came as a surprise to me.
The greatest dissappointment is the time it takes after a snap is taken to process the pic and store it (considering its a Digic III processor). Mind you, I use a standard Sandisk 1GB SD Card. It takes a while for the flash to get re-charged. Also, I found the battery performance dissappointing.

This was listed as an entry-level camera and it is terridic for a beginning photographer. People keep asking me what camera I use when I show them the finished product. A professional photographer may need more bells and whistles, but the Canon PowerShot has everything I need and more. It's easy to use, has a great view screen plus a view finder and is not too complicated for a first time digital camera owner.

I love Canon cameras. This is the third Canon digital that I've purchased (S40, SD20 previously). It works great right out the box--nice pics, syncs with Mac no problem at all. It is a little big compared to many cameras out there. My only issue is that I damaged the iris that protects the lens with a fairly small trauma. I wouldn't change my decision based on this, but if you're tough on cameras (dropper or pockets) buy a case.

After reading the original 3 reviews, I was worried that this gift I received would be a disaster, but I was very, very pleased when I actually started taking pictures. Granted it doesn't do incredibly fancy things, but it is in fact a very good camera for taking every day, clear and crisp photos. It also has an added bonus of being incredibly light weight and only takes 2 batteries compared to previous Canon models that took 4.

While I think if you can afford it, you should move up to the a570 for the motion compensation, this camera is great. The facial recognition auto-focus, large clear display, sdhc support and 4x optical zoom make this a fantastic camera!
