OK, maybe I don't want to take it where it's excessively wet; I hear the digital cameras don't like water, but the A560 has been flawless, lightweight, and a great camera to always have with you. I'm still a film fan, and shoot pro film in serious SLRs, but some excellent shots have come from the A560 (a last minute trip over to the coast yielded some perfect shots of starfish I would not have otherwise captured!).
With a 2GB chip, I don't think I'm likely to run out of storage on a hike (closing in on 6000 pictures possible on the lower res settings). I did find it depleting the regular alkaline batteries pretty fast, so I got rechargeable NiCads and have very pleased with those.
The price is great, and I've used Canon cameras for years. This is simply a very fine choice for a small, yet quality, digital P&S.

I haven't used the camera too much yet, but from the "test" shots I've taken I am pleased with it and happy to join the rest of the population in the current technological world. It's a little more complicated than I expected with all the choices it offers, and it was reviewed as easy to use, so it must be me. Love the big screen!

Another good product from Canon. Meets all my basic photography needs. Only slight problem is flash takes 5-10 secs to recharge for next shot.

Got this a few months ago, and it has not dissapointed - our last digi camera was an olympus and I was hesitant to switch brands as that served us for years (2.1 MP) - however, after reading reviews and talking to canon users, we went with this one for the 4X optical and 7.1MP. The face focusing technology is cool (a little creepy how the box follows faces) and ensures that your focus is on the person and not an object. One minor dissapointment was the 16 MB MMC card - literaly only holds 9 photos - might as well not include it and knock a couple of bucks off of the camera or give a bigger SD card (512 MB or so) for a few more since it is WORTHLESS.

A great camera, and even better service from Amazon...I purchased this camera and the first one there was a problem with it , I went on to this website and they told me to return it , no questions asked and they sent me another at no charge. In fact I received the new one before I even had chance to return the faulty one. I will always purchase from Amazon without and concerns everytime.

This camera is great. Canon has done a great job of sticking to the easy to use interface I've gotten very used to. The images have all turned out great and the focus time is almost instant. Great buy. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good digital camera without breaking the bank.

Esta camara es una muy buena elección a la hora de adquirir una camara digital, buena calidad de las fotos, el unico "pero" que le tengo hasta ahora es su consumo de baterias... las devora rapido, por lo que hay que tener a mano un par de baterias recargables y un cargador.
La camara es bastante liviana y pequeña, asi que es facil de llevar en bultos y lugares donde haya poco espacio, eso si, comprate un buen estuche para protegerla.
Si te vas a algún lugar donde se te dificulte cargar las baterias, pues lleva unas cuantas de reserva.

I owned a power shot A65 and LOVED it. Easy to use, great pix. When it finally gave out I researched cameras and this model kept coming up as a best buy. I was extremely disappointed with it--the lcd screen is extremely fuzzy. I went to a store to see if maybe I had just gotten a bad camera but the instore model was just as bad. I printed a couple of pictures, thinking the screen may not impact the pictures. The pictures were grainy and fuzzy also. I returned the camera and bought a different model.

Fast service, camera in excellent condition, and I would do business with this company again. Being a novice digital camera user I found this camera very easy to use from the start. I did end up buying a 1 gigabyte memory card since the memory card that comes with it is just 16 megabytes - 10 pictures.

I have had my cannon for a little over a week I take tons of pic's of my son @ baseball games and soccer the continous photo option takes great photos. This camera starts up faster than any other digital I have owned this is my fourth digital first cannon boy I regret not getting a cannon the first three times the features that are aval for the money far exceed any other digital cam out there, small fits perfect in your hand, huge 2.5in screen, crystal clear pics and great movies as well. Does make a little noise on top speed ISO but hey for 140 bucks you can't beat it. So stop searching and just buy it I am getting 2 more 1 as a gift and the other as a backup just in case you just can't beat this price for the quality of camera

I was disgusted when this camera stopped working after only 1 week. I bought the A560 to take on vacation, and kept it well-stored in a padded case. With less than 200 shots, the lens cover stopped opening/closing, and then the view screen died. (You could still preview a shot in movie mode, but not in camera mode, and you could still review stored pics - very strange.) The AA batteries tend to last only about 75 pictures, by the way, so keep plenty on hand. I had bought a Canon this time because neither of my Kodaks had held up more than one year, but I returned this and bought a Kodak Z712 instead.

So far we have really enjoyed our new Canon Powershot. The pictures look great and printing is really easy. We were able to give lots of homemade gifts this year with really great photos from our camera. We are moving to China soon and will be taking a lot of pictures there, so I can only hope that the camera continues to operate perfectly and let us continue to be picture people for really the first time in our lives.

I originally bought this camera for my girlfriend, but she wanted something a bit smaller. Thus, I decided to keep this one and get her another of similar value. After playing around with it for about a month, I've decided that she made a mistake choosing another camera. I'm in love with my PS560. It takes great pictures and video. The "other" smaller camera doesn't even compare. Overall, I highly recommend this camera for its value and quality.

I hated this camera. If it's not held PERFECTLY STILL the pics are fuzzy. It has tons of bells & whistles, but the pics are horrible. Thank goodness my daughter found my missing Kodak! It cost half as much, & the pics are twice as good.

OK, I'm married to an electronic engineer camera geek. He has more cameras than anyone should, and I'm not allowed to touch them. Taking pictures is a major operation for him, but he loves it. I bought this for myself, so that I would have a point and shoot camera in my handbag, ready to use. When it arrived, I thought I was going to lose it to him. He was fascinated by the quality and the ease of use. I like the viewfinder, which is clearer than his fancy camera's. This camera is smarter than I am, and the pictures are very sharp. The low price + free shipping and no tax was super. This is a wonderful all-around everyday use camera for anybody except a camera snob like my husband.

I bought this nice little camera for my young shutterbug daughter. It is easy to use and takes nice pictures (and videos!). She has managed to fill a 2GB card in a week, and she has so much fun taking pictures. The camera body seems to be good quality, and the camera has a nice set of features and controls.

This is a terrific basic digital camera -- easy to use and small enough to carry around all the time. Also great that it runs on AA batteries (though the battery/SD card compartment is a bit of a challenge to open and close!)

I only owned canon cameras, SD400 when it 1st came out. I Just purchased an SD1000 for myself (love it) My daughter and son-inlaw needed a new camera . I purchased the powershot A560 as a gift for them. They LOVE everything about it! lots of features, easy to work & great picture quality. For me, it feels a little light. I also think if your used to using an SD model this camera will feel way to large in your hand.

I bought one of these for my 11-year old granddaughter. She found it easy to use and takes great pictures with it. It has also survived a number of drops from when her brothers borrowed it. It is fairly small and light, so it is easy to carry around, but it feels good in the hand. The LCD is bright and clear. The kids like to use the movie function to make movies in the back of the car on long trips. This uses up the batteries fairly fast--a new set every day on a trip--but it uses easy-to-get AA batteries, so we can get more when they are needed. It is a great "toy" for the kids, but the picture quality is also very, very good.

I bought this to replace my 3.1MP A70. My initial reaction was it feels a little plasticy compared to that. Although still good quality. It is slightly smaller in size but the screen at the back is massive in comparison. It has all of the standard features you would expect, although the biggest disappointment is the "stitch assist" feature is missing from A560. I use this extensively to take landscape shots, time will tell if my manual judgement and the Photo assist software supplied do the same job.
Canon only supply a 16mB SD card, which only holds 4 photos on the highest setting so be prepared to get a larger size if you buy this. The photos taken though all very good.
Overall for a 7.1MP camera at just over £100 this represents value for money.

This camera is easy to use but you'll need to purchase an additional memory card if you want to take more than 6 pictures.
Takes sharp, clear pics and I like the 10 second timer. Haven't used the motion mode but is very easy for me with auto settings

I was very excited to receive this product and I love all of the features it comes with along with black & white or sepia pictures which you can take. The instructions are easy to follow and very useful especially for a first time user like myself. Before buying this I looked up reviews of it not only on this site but also various consumer reports to see if it would be worth the purchase. Needless to say my husband is jealous and wants one too.

I bought this to replace a Nikon Coolpix that I left in a train station in Spain. I wanted more than 3x zoon, AA batteries, decent picture quality, SD card compatible, and small enough to fit in my shirt pocket. This camera excelled in all those areas. Plus, it was cheaper here than at my local Wal-Mart. Even with the free shipping, it arrived in just a few days. I am completely satisfied. Hardcore shutterbugs will want more bells and whistles, but for my needs this camera is perfect. Peace.
