Bought this double sided high speed color scanner in an effort to go "paperless." I read several blogs and reviews and chose the P-215. I chose to setup using the included disc. Scanning directly into Evernote is a breeze. Easily handles card stock as well as very thin receipts. I am very pleased with the result although I am only six weeks into the process.

Great for home use for the infrequent user. Unlink flat bed scanner it doesn't take up much space. It also scans the front and back side of a page at the same time. Trad off is you can scan books or magazines of the sort. It also has the capability to scan business cards or IDs (credit card sized)

Purcase this little scanner and boy does it deliver. If you are considering the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500, it's a great scanner but a little overpriced since it is a proprietary scanner, No Twain Drivers so your stuck using only the software that ships with it. The Canon imageFormula P-215 is a versatile scanner that can be used at home, office, or on the go. Since it uses twain drivers you can use any scanning software and it costs about 130.00 less than the ScanSnap. Also this scanner works with both MAC and PC while the ScanSnap is specific for the PC or the MAC but not both. The ScanSnap is a little faster but for the extra cost and the limited functionality with other software, just not worth it. Wish I had run across the Canon prior to dropping a boat load of money in the ScanSnap. I also purchased the BulletScan S300 and it is not even in the same league with these two scanners except for the cost. The BulletScan is slower and the scans are horrible, always leave a heavy black line down the left side of the page no matter how clean the original is. As a matter of fact I don't even use it anymore except to hold down paper on a windy day.

This scanner works well with pages of text. It's fast. As far as I can tell (I haven't looked at them too much) the text-recognition is good. It doesn't do as good of a job with photos, but not too many scanners do. I'm fine with the photo scanning quality. The software can be a little frustrating at times, trying to find how to do certain things. I'm glad I bought this though. I've been scanning all my paperwork I have filed and old family photos, tagging them all with relevant information so I can have a backup in case something horrible happens to my house.

I bought the scanner after reading all the great reviews both about the unit and about Canon. I was able to install it on my mac no problem then I had a question on Scannable PDF's. You lucky people who live in the states - toll free numbers and email to tech support. Canon does not care about Canada nor do they want to provide any support in Canada.Looks like a great product but if you are Canadain do not buy it. No support what so ever.Shame on you Canon.

This scanner is compact and seems to be well built. Scans fast and adjust pages right side up which is way cool. The other nice feature is the duplex scanning and built in software in the scanner so no software is needed to copy onto computer. The only negative comment would be sometimes the last page doesn't always go through without a little push.

This scanner is very fast, does both sides of the pages, and will even scan ID. The qualify of the scans is also excellent. Unlike the earlier version, I am able to operate it using just one USB cord. I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable scanner, it is well worth the price. I only wish it could double as a portable printer.

As a first time owner of a dedicated document scanner I have to say that I am impressed with this product. I received the Formula P-215 a week ago and have already scanned hundreds of documents in no time at all. It has performed flawlessly rendering excellent scans. It is fast in the default factory settings and it has a tiny footprint even after opening and fully extending the document tray. I cannot attest to it's durability... that remains to be seen but the appearance and feel of the scanner leaves one with the impression that it is a quality product and will go the distance. If I have a complaint it would have to be that the setup process is a bit confusing and disconnected from the software package. The included Paperport software is not as intuitive as one would expect especially for those of us who tend to jump right in without reading the instructions first. All in all though, the complaints are minor in view of the total package.

I have happily cleared several bags of paper clutter from my house!Here are my pros/cons:PROS:easy to usecompactas you scan, you can chose whether to scan as a PDF or picture (JPEG) file, etc.included software is easy to usesave files directly to your computer documentsdocument feeder--very efficient for 10-15 pagesCONS:doesnt scan cards as easily as I like; yet this was not a dealbreaker for meoccasional jamming of paper with multiple pages--but usually worse for documents that I unstapled first. For better results, you should fan through the pages before loading in the feeder--no big deal to me, but might irritate others.I have a portable neat scanner which worked fair, but the software and upgrades were frustrating--not seamless.

I use it to scan exhibits in depositions that do not have a gazillion exhibits. It has yet to jam. Clearly would not be useful if the other side produced a box of stuff, except that it is handy if there is something I want to look at more closely while the depo is fresh in my mind. Takes about 20 seconds to set up, and gets its power from the USB port in your computer.

This portable scanner is great--easy to use and "Packs up well". I use it at home and on-the-road. I particularly like the two side scanning. Wish it had skew correction. If you travel be sure to get the padded case (although a little pricy).

I've tried other portable scanners before and have not been able to find something that is a) actually portable, b)scans well, c)light enough to lug around.That said, I'm fairly happy with the Canon Scan-Tini fora) it weighs about 2 lbs and does fit easily into my laptop bagb) software is good for both Macs and PCs, easy to install. However, you can start scanning as soon as you plug the scanner up to a PC without installing driversc) nice card slot for scanning business cards; can also scan checksd) accepts up to 20 sheets of paper and the scan results are clear. Scans fast for portable scanners - 15 pages per minutee) scans receipts up to 39.4 inches long and the results are clear as well (I've had issues with scanning receipts on other scanners I've tried)On the downside, there's no included AC adapter - in Canon's mind, that's an accessory - but I haven't really had the need for one. I'm perfectly fine with using just a USB.

What a scanner!!! I have a $2500 Fujitsu scanner and this thing scans as fast or faster. If anybody has anything negative to say DO NOT let that sway your decision. It is light, compact and feels solid as a rock. I cannot recommend this scanner enough. I think I would rather scan with this thing than....well, you know what I mean:>) Buy it if you are looking for a portable scanner.And no, I do not work for Canon. I am a lawyer in solo practice.

I once thought that the best lightweight scanner was made by Fujitsu, as I own the M300 and the S1500. They both do the job and have turned my law practice into a paperless office. The Canon P 215 is a gem and whisper quiet (it moves on cat paws), fast with "easy to use" software, light at 3.8 pounds which will fit into a rollaway (tho not as light as the Fujitsu ScanSnap M300 which weighs 3.1 lbs). This is the ideal scanner to carry to the library, to a meeting, or on a plane as it is sturdy and folds up neatly and snugly into itself for compact carrying. As important, it scans to "pdf" for quick access, editing and conversion to text. It is powered through the USB port so one does not have to lug around power cords. Canon obviously had the business traveller in mind when they produced this fine scanner.

the product arrived well packaged. unfortunately the product did not work w/ my macbook pro. so i returned it to amazon & asked for refund. when i ordered this product, amazon advertised that you will get a free canon soft carrying case. i followed instructions to avail the free offer. when i received my bill, i was charged for the canon carrying case! amazon, i want to know why i was charged for a carrying case w/c you offered for free? as i said i followed instructions to avail for the free offer. But i end up being charged for it. i just want my money back, you can keep the case. tell me what to do to get my money back.

I just ordered this scanner from Amazon yesterday and was very excited. After comparing this scanner to the Fujitsu S1300, I made the decision to purchase the Canon. Unfortunately, after getting all of my files ready to scan, the scanner simply will not work. It says that there is a double paper feed error, even when there is only a single sheet of paper. This is simply inexcusable to ship a product that does not work out of the box.I called Canon's customer service, but they are on Eastern Time and therefore were closed. Apparently their sales team can work 24 hours, but their customer care only works limited hours that are not convenient for those of us who have jobs.I will not be buying a Canon product again and will order the Fujitsu instead. Stay away from this scanner.

Bought this to use with my MacbookPro and iMac and it worked great. No problems whatsoever! It handled odd shaped receipts and full size paper with ease. Used both the plug and play version of the software as well as the OSX installed version and both work without a hitch.

My main purpose for buying a fast scanner was so that I could start getting rid of my files and also so that I could attach scans into Quicken Deluxe. First I bought the SnapScan S1300. It was slow on just the USB, much faster using the power supply, but since it doesn't have TWAIN drivers I could not scan directly into Quicken. I returned it and got this Canon P-215. I love it !!!! It's just as fast as the S1300 on the power supply and it scans directly into Quicken. PERFECT !!!

I bought this to take along on family history trips, to scan pictures and documents on location. The scan quality is not as good as my big 4800 DPI flatbed, but the scan quality is good for it's intended use. Also, the flatbed won't fit in my laptop case and can't be powered by my laptop like this little scanner can.Very good portable, well worth the money.

я собирался жаловаться на то, что я не могу получить его для сканирования одного изображения на странице. Получается, что просто переключившись в формате PDF и выполняет это. И, возможно, "сканирование в несколько потоков" флажок похоронен в параметрах документа будет делать это для PDF. Так как мой банк требует в формате JPEG мне уже все равно...<БР />
