Made Good on Warranty
Early on when I purchased this rod, I was very pleased with it, very sensitive and good action. Then when reeling in a 13 inch bass, the biggest fish I had caught with this rod, the tip of the rod just snapped off.
I followed the website procedures to report the matter as the rod was only 5 months old, well within the one year warranty. It took a while before I heard back, but in the end, the rod was replaced. I am delighted with the rod and appreciate that the company stands behind their products. When I go to purchase rods in the future, I need not look further.

Best bang for 50 dollar rod!
Received rod in absolutely the best packaging I’ve seen. It was supported from tip to handle in foam. Removed the plastic and foam, check all eyelets to be sure none were loose. The rod is very well made, it’s gloss charcoal gray, then goes to a matte charcoal gray. The finish on the rod is very much above average.
Performance, matched up with size 30 spinning reel, mono backer, 20 lb braid. It cast extremely nice, holds up well when under pressure when I got hung up underwater. Handled a 3 lb bass very well when felt and hooked. Great rod for the money. I now own two.

Great Rod
Firstly, I was extremely impressed by the way this rod was shipped. I have never ordered a fishing rod online, so I am not sure if this packaging method is standard, but cadence ships their rods in a very secure and sturdy rod tube with a ton on foam packing. As someone who worked in logistics previously, I can really appreciate good packaging haha.
I have taken the rod out quite a few times now for bass fishing, surf fishing, stripers and even spent some time fishing for reds in the waterways behind Sullivan's Island. Very accurate rod with a lot of backbone. Great for pulling in big reds or feisty pond bass. I would highly recommend this rod for a variety of freshwater and saltwater uses. Killer rod

Updating my previous review. I would caution that the rod is a bit fragile, but the company has been great to work with. They have provided great customer service. After the first rod broke, I've used the second one successfully on several trips.

Cadence On Deck!
I have 5-10 medium rods in the mid to high grade in my boat and alway keep 6-8 various rods “On Deck”. I was looking for a light rod that was sensitive to a bite in any season from all sizes of fish and could still hold a big fish. I was impressed with the Light, 6-6 rod. From the casting ability to the backbone of this rod It made this rod join my group of favorites On the Deck
I was able to throw everything from weightless Sinco to small swim baits with a 1/4 oz jig head. On the first day out I brought in fish from 1.5 to 3+ lbs using just this rod.

Cadence Essence Rod:
First thing that impressed me was the way the rod was package for shipping. Arrived in standard cardboard tube but inside rod was protected by foam “doughnuts” that kept the rod centered through out shipping. Rod has a nice balance, hook keeper, and eyelet wraps are really nice. A good looking rod that feels nice in your hands. The Essence arrived in time for my smallmouth trip. Paired it with my CS10 and hit the road. Rod performed great. The Essence had excellent transmission of the bottom while fishing jigs and tubes. I had a great time with this rod. Price is definitely not an indication of performance.

Beautiful UL rod
Have started buying more Cadence products and every one has been a beautiful piece of fishing rods and reels. This one is no different. From the rubber cap at the bottom of the handle to the smooth guides it is quality work. Will report back on the rod use with UL crank baits.
Just buy it, you won't be disappointed with any of their products.

Terrific ultralight rod.
What a terrific little rod. I wanted an ultra light set up and the 5’6” Ultralight Essence was the perfect rod. I paired it with a CS8 1000 reel and haven’t looked back. It has become one of my favorite rigs.
Cadence has become my go to source for rods and reels. Added bonus: They have great Customer service.

Great rod....
This my 2nd one....the price can't be beat..
We fish for mainly crappie.
However...we go to another lake for bass..
These rods are very sensitive. Excellent for crappie.
They work well for bass, using ned rigs...pitching plastics..
I will be buying more for my baitcasters using crankbaits...I'll go with the medium heavy ....
Don't hesitate to buy.

Reel seat separation
The epoxy job on the reel seat is very sloppy and didn't last but several months fishing but just past my return window. I will do my own epoxy job, surely it will be better than original.
Other than the reel seat the rod was a little stiff but would definitely set the hook.
I would have ordered the medium fast but don't use split grips.
I will not buy this rod again and couldn't recommend it unless you're looking for a disposable rod for short term use.

Well balanced rod for bass, inshore, etc.
The rod stands out for its a very clean look. It's very light and well balanced. It has the muscle for heavier tackle but I also had no problem finessing some live bait around docks. It was tested with some redfish and had plenty of leverage to control the fish. For the price, this is a fantastic rod that will perform well in fresh and saltwater.

Really enjoying this medium-light action rod. Fitted it with a new Mitchell 308Pro. Still getting the 'feel' of it, but really having fun.

Disappointed
I got this rod earlier this week. Love the look and feel. However, the butt knob at the end of the rod is not seated flush with the rest of the rod. That wasn’t a huge deal to me. The problem came when I put a reel on and found that the reel seat does not line up with the eyes. It is off to the right, so when you put a reel on, the line coming off the reel would have to go to the left to go in the eyes. I have tried to contact customer support a few times. No luck with that. I am writing this review in hopes that the company will help me out with the rod, I can’t get ahold of them by phone and when I went to their site, maybe I did something wrong? But I don’t know that my message went through. If it did, they have not contacted me back. I can’t get them on the phone either

Good but they need more glue
I gave it 3 stars because the part that screws down to hold the reel on was not glued very well and I ended up with a reel that was loose. I put a zip tie on to finish my day. Overall I like the rod I am going to try to glue it back together. I would buy another one if I break this one after I fix it

Great Rod! Would recommend
The Cadence Essence rod is great. It is obviously made of quality materials. The rod is light yet tough enough to fight bigger fish. It is also extremely smooth casting. I mainly use this for bass fishing but wouldn't hesitate to use this inshore for redfish it's speckled trout.

Don’t together you reel seat screw to tight
The top locking knob that screws down onto the real got stuck so now I can’t get my real off of the pole they said they’re supposed to have a 90 day return policy but I’ve tried contacting them and to no avail

Great Design
I opened this Rod out the box and already could see how they have improved the quality and craftsmanship over the years. I took it fishing and have loved how it handled, and the sensitivity. I would highly recommend this product for any fisherman.

Nice rod
Bought these rods as new boat rods for casting to schooling stripers. Well made, nice balance and a very good value. I don't think you can go wrong with this rod.
