Even though ASUS specs says it is working - it is not! And ASUS support is really bad on this matter. There is a work-around but troublesome: [...]If you need the webcam in combination with a MacBook, I recommend to buy a standalone monitor and a separate webcam. This is probably much cheaper...

$300 price tag may seem a little steep but i truly believe that the bang is worth your buckI really love this monitor. I am heavily involved in the Fighting Game Community and we have very strict necessities for refresh rates when it comes to monitors. Most monitors lag - this one does NOT. For me that is the most important thing when looking at a monitor.On top of that valuable gem, at 27 inches, this monitors picture is great and the speakers are actually nice and loud.It doesnt stop there - the web cam thats attached to the top has a decent picture and refreshes pretty great as well. Video from webcam records and streams nice and clear.An other feature that puts this monitor over the top it the ability to use pip (picture in picture). Using Pip doesnt seem to effect refresh rate and works very well.

I did a ton of research and read a million reviews. ASUS knocked it out of the park with this one. Love it for gaming because this thing is HUGE! Picture quality is outstanding. No dead pixels. Beautiful screen. Physical buttons instead of those annoying touch sensitive ones that I always seem to accidently hit. Great color right out of the box (it looks good to me, though I'm not a graphic designer or anything). Matte screen reduces glare (great since the window is behind my desk). Weighs only 10lbs making it easy to move around and install. The stand is a little wobbly, but as long as I stabilize my desk it doesn't move even when I type. Can't speak about the speakers because I haven't used them and don't plan to (have my own audio setup). Webcam is a dismal 2MP, but don't really care. If I did, I'd buy a USB HD cam. Would be nice to have a built-in mic though. Every common connection with DSUB, DVI, HDMI, DP (I'm using DVI). For the price, you can't beat this monitor. As good as one that's twice as much. Conclusion: If you're thinking of upgrading or just aren't happy with your current display, buy this one now.

It is clear and sharp. Would have loved a 30 in. But still to exspensive. But this monitor for the price is fantastic.

no Mac driver for the camera. Use it in dual-monitor setups on both PC and Mac and in every other respect it is one of the better monitors I've used.But it is kind of ridiculous not to provide a driver for the Mac these days.

I had shopped around, looked at and read many reviews on 27' monitors. I liked the features and price on this model as well as the brand. It turned out to be an excellent buy. superior picture, web cam was good, easy to hook up. Sound was lacking but I did not really care about that anyway. Text was better than I was expecting on this size screen. I am very happy with this monitor and would recommend it to anyone. If I had to, I would not hesitate to purchase this monitor again.

Purchased this monitor for the multiple inputs and was pleasantly surprised to find PIP functionality. Thanks to the dsize its like having 2 monitors in one footprint. Webcam is crisp and clear, even in low light. Highly recommend the purchase

Graphics are crisp and clear, I am ready to play HD movies when I so desire and the screen is big enough that I enjoy those movies tremendously. I consider this a great purchase for my needs.

This monitor has definitely met my expectations. Once I was able to adjust the Scaling Options, within the Catalyst Control Center, for my Radeon video card, the display filled the monitor and the picture was perfectly clear. This is an important step for those with a Radeon card.The monitor is extremely energy efficient, using about 30 watts. I don't use the speakers, as I have an external 5.1 Logitech speaker system - so I can't comment on that aspect of the monitor. The USB video camera works great for basic use.My only negative comment is that you cannot adjust the monitor height, or turn it left or right (without moving it's base). The only movement you're allowed to make is an extremely small tilt adjustment to face upwards or downwards.

I purchased this monitor from Warehouse Deals, used-like new. Arrived as described in excellent condition. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking for a great monitor with a fast response time, such as FPS gamers. Aside from the fact that the webcam software is crap that was provided by ASUS, I haven't had any issues with this monitor at all (I didn't buy the monitor for the webcam feature anyway).

If you have a Macintosh computer look elsewhere. The speakers, and webcam will not work. You will find this monitor to be poorly supported by Asus, and finally, difficult to adjust. It is made for the Windows environment where it may perform well.

Like many, I had no desire to flush money down the toilet and end up with something that I wished I had just spent that "extra $50 bucks on". I did my research. I would have loved to buy something in the upper range of things. Turned out I did not have to.Pros:*Beautiful color, no adjustments needed whatsoever, right out of the box.*27 inch screen seemed to me a bit excessive at first, but it does not take that much more desk space than the 22 inch I replaced it with. Perfect!*I cant find one display issue. No dead pixels, no ghosting, no nothing but a bright clear picture. Gaming, Movies, you name it.*Plenty of connectivity, you can hook almost anything old or new to this monitor. Add PIP, a nice Web Cam, for the price who could ask for anything more?*Looks awesome on my computer desk!Cons:*Instruction manual is a nightmare. Over half a dozen different languages fight for the same small amount of print space. If you are not at least a little bit tech savvy, you will be screwed using this without any guidance.*Instructions to activate the Web Cam and the software that comes with it, in a word, sucks. Once you figure it out, tho, everything is fine.BOTTOM LINE: I would recommend this Monitor. I am very happy with it.UPDATE 1/02/2013: STILL works perfect. A year later, heavy usage, and I would still buy this thing again!!! Excellent Monitor, thank you :)

If you are focused primarily on the Video and need an Apple Mac Air screen this is a GREAT substitute for the premium priced Apple monitor.I had a problem with my specific DisplayPort initially. after reading the blogs I found that the early series deliveries had a defect in the DisplayPort adapter (only DP. SVGA and HDMI work fine). returned it to the factory and they fixed and returned to me in 11 days. The bad news is I had to send it back. The good news is their service really works.Now I have a DP port compatible monitor with EXCELLENT resolution for $329... rather than Apple's 999.I have yet to connect the webcam.I REALLY like the button controls. You do need to read the manual, but once mastered, they make monitor management easy.

The picture:1. This monitor has a bright beautiful picture out of the box. Can be tweaked for personal liking. Bezel is glossy and slim, but the screen is matte finish.For those who are complaining about lack of mic on the webcam:2. The built-in webcam has no mic. If it did, I'd still disable it. You may wonder why one would do that. Simple--a lot of people use a headset with built-in mic when using a webcam. In fact, outside of those staged photo opps on apple's ad's, sound quality is far better when using a headset with built-in mic. If the mic is on the monitor, either you speak louder or sit closer to the screen. A more sensitive monitor mic picks up lots of ambient noise such as key-clicks. I find that I have to repeat myself several times. With a 27" screen, my eyes are about 32 inches away from the screen. At that distance, a built in mic on the monitor doesn't sound that great. I use the monitor in a shared environment, so it is simply not practical to use a built-in mic in a "speakerphone" type of mode.

I was thrilled when I saw all the inputs on this monitor and purchased it to replace a dual 17" LCD monitor setup for a PC. The 27" monitor fit perfectly into the 30" space I had and gives an excellent image using the DVI input. I also use an iMac right next to the PC and since the ASUS Monitor has a Displayport input, I connected it to the iMac for a secondary monitor using a mini-Displayport (Thunderbolt) to Displayport cable. It works perfectly. Its max resolution (1920x1080) is just a little less than the iMac(2560x1440) but it looks great. I also keep a VGA cable connected for when I work with a Laptop to use the ASUS monitor in place of the laptop display. Switching between inputs is easy with a button at the panel bottom and so far, with everything hooked up all at once, I've had no issues. I haven't even had time to check out the camera, but it looked like it worked fine when I installed the driver on the PC. I am very pleased with the versatility of this product and its image quality. Well done ASUS.

The reason why I bought this monitor is because I needed an alternative screen to hook up my X360/PS3. The selling point is that it has speakers so I do not need any extra hardware to play. I did take a second and tried to hook up speakers but it didn't work out at first because audio-in is disable when an HDMI cable and DVI is plugged in at the same time. To make it work I bought a 3.5mm Stereo Male To 2X RCA Female Adapter and plugged it into the earphone jack. The monitor has audio-in 3.5mm jack, 3.5mm headphone jack, DVI, HDMI and display port. The built-in speakers have good quality sound. The monitor colors are good, default is too bright. I have a little screen bleed on the bottom and no dead pixels. The first one I received had a red line on the left side of the screen and a dead pixel. Amazon exchanged it with no hassle and this one I have now is industry standards. X360/PS3/PC gaming and desktop usage look great.

used this at work for the last 30 days and its fantastic. Spreadsheets and such are easy to view with the large screen, nice upgrade from my 24". I haven't used the webcam feature. The speakers work great as built in speakers. I don't use them for music or gaming, so I can't comment on the overall quality of sound.

I was looking in to replacing my aging Dell desktop with a 27" all-in-one Dell desktop. But the price was too much. So I got a regular desktop from Dell and paired it with the 27" Asus monitor. Together it was two third the cost of an all-in-one. The combination works perfect.I am extremely happy with the Asus monitor. No complaints. Only thing it lacks is a swivel base. I got a standalone swivel base from Amazon and using it.

Ordered this monitor for features and price, but probably should have picked something else. The monitor arrived in time. Monitor itself looks great, very bright, lots of features, would get four stars or five. But - the manual that came with the product is one of those foldout mega pages in bad English and printed in about 2 point font. Useless. I found a pdf manual online after the setup which was more usable. Second, the web cam software (LifeFrame) delivered with the monitor comes up with error message "LifeFrame2 runs on ASUS laptops only". Googled for this and found it to be a persistent problem with ASUS monitors, apparently for more than 2 years already, and across all of their integrated cam-monitors. I finally got a generic driver off the net and got the camera to work. With all this stuff going on, I am not giving more than 2 stars.

I've had the monitor for over 30 days and it has worked flawlessly. The monitor came with one broke pixel, but it is barely noticeable unless you are looking for it. Its lightweight and mounting holes make it perfect for mounting to a bracket.
