I was a lonely man, looking for love in all the wrong places (Tiger Direct, NewEGG, Amazon) when I came across some great monitor sales. My monitor status was a little sad. I was rocking a sad monitor, at 1280x1024 resolution, I needed some love in my life in the form of pixels. Unfortunately, many monitors run more expensive than my wallet allows. That is when ASUS came into my life with a solution.That solution is the ASUS VH232H 23" Monitor.Sure, you can game on 640x480 resolution- if your enemy is 5 feet from you and you have a shot gun.Sure, you can watch a blu-ray movie on 1280x1024 monitor- if you like black borders on 75% of the screen and seeing the movie in what looks like crappy low res youtube quality video.But why settle for anything worse than 1920x1080 - The digital HD Standard - when you can get a better product at a price point such as this?Details:Setting up the monitor is easy, and has multiple inputs. You can do VGA, DVI, HDMI... whatever you like. Once you get setup, you will be pleasantly happy with the build quality of the monitor. It is large, as 23 inches is more than enough for the average person- any larger and you risk the price going up several hundred dollars. The base is solid, and your monitor will be nice and secure. It tilts up and down, but nothing too sharp- Will be fine for most people. Colors are crisp and vibrant, and bright! I see no ghosting, and thank god it does not have a glossy display. My wife's monitor did, and it was so reflective and nasty that I bought her one of these! (Actually, this is her Amazon account ha!)Owning two of these, at this price point, was a steal. I would definitely suggest this monitor if you are in the market for a great monitor at an amazing price point. The bang for your buck factor is most definitely here.After all that is said and done, there are CONS as well... The audio in this thing SUCKS. I could care less however, as I bought a monitor to use it as ONLY a monitor... However, pluging my PS3 or 360 into this guy over HDMI was sad. The audio was high, with virtually ZERO base like audio, let alone middle range sounds... Disgusting. Avoid if you are looking for something for audio. HOWEVER, at this price point having audio is irrelevant. HOWEVER, it does work with both a PS3 and a 360 in a pinch, so a friend can come over with a console, plug in, and go! Great for a LAN scenario. You will be yelling back and forward with your buddies to care too much about the audio.At least the video is CRISP - Also, NOTE that with monitors, you will have a BETTER ms reaction VS a TV... Meaning on games, your monitor will react FASTER than a TV will. At what I believe is 3ms speed, this monitor will display your actions exactly when you make them, making this BAR NONE a better solution for a hard core gamer. MOST HDTVs will support SLOW ms reaction times... mostly all are slow. Playing guitar hero, you will SUCK compared to playing on a monitor, or even a CRT TV. It is all because of how long it takes for the TV to actually display what is going on in the game. Even playing HALO or Call of Duty... you will notice a delay if you go back and forward between this monitor and a normal HDTV, you will notice you move AFTER you move the thumb stick... this is annoying if you want to play competitive gaming. This monitor will help with that.I don't know if it mounts... Sorry, if I was at home I would check. I got this because the reviews were so good and the price was right. It's a pretty nice monitor with good features.Pros: Excellent color and contrast. Sitting next to my laptop, my laptop screen just looks pathetic by comparison. The Asus monitor is sharp, clear, and vibrant and is really a joy to look at. Inputs are good, HDMI, VGA, DVI. Buttons are pretty easy to push and feel pretty decent (well, they feel a bit cheap to be honest, but pretty much every monitor I've had has similar feeling buttons). Resolution is good, and I haven't noticed any dead pixels.Cons: I have one big gripe with the monitor. If you turn the brightness below its retina-searing 90% it makes a very noticeable and annoying buzzing sound. I've since learned this is very common for LCD monitors (has to do with the PWM control of a power inverter within the monitor...or so I've been led to believe). Having said that, I've been using LCD monitors for approximately 7 years and never had one that buzzed this noticeably. I don't know if mine is defective, or if they all do this, but it's problematic for me. I don't want my brightness above 90%, I want it at 60%, but I have to turn on music or the buzzing makes it too obnoxious to use. One other minor gripe I have is the viewing angle. Horizontal viewing angle is fantastic, but vertical viewing angle isn't very good at all particularly from below. Move my head down even a few inches below the screen and the words at the top of the screen start to get that rainbow-ghosting effect. By comparison, my laptop screen does much better on this front as I have to nearly bend the screen all the way down for this same effect to appear. I recognize this could be a setting, but I'm using the auto settings here with just the brightness turned down.I haven't yet decided but I think these cons may be enough for me to return it and try a different brand/monitor. I really want to like this monitor as it what the right price and size with great reviews, but maybe it's not meant to be.

There are so many reviews of this monitor that talk about the specs and such that I won't bother going into that detail. What I want to say is the monitor looks great. Its bright even when the brightness is not turned up high, it self adjusts when connected, and the color is fabulous with the onboard 32 bit graphics processing in my desktop PC (Lenovo 8808). Also like the high contrast and dark blacks. Being able to adjust the brightness up and down with just the touch of a button at the bottom of the screen is a great convenience for night viewing. Scanned the entire screen for dead pixles and found none.I didn't bother to hook up the speaker cable seeing as I already have some nice desk top speakers. Can't imagine how poor the built in sound must be judging from the small size of the speakers in the screen. But they are there if you absolutally need them.Mounted the Asus to the wall using a Mount-It! Flat Panel Monitor/LCD TV Wall Mount with Dual Articulating Arm for 13-30 inches TV/Monitor. This holds the monitor very well and the Asus's VESA 100 standard threaded holes lined up with the X bracket on the wall mount perfectly. The base came off the same way it went on right out of the box. The "leg" part of the stand came off fairly easily by first removing the two screws visable in the bottom of the leg, then pull off the back cover on the leg. That gives access to 3 screws that hold the leg to the monitor by the tilt hinge. Took all of 5 minutes to get it totally off the screen and nothing was damaged so it will all go back together again if I want to use the stand in the future.Very happy with the monitor, and there is a $15 mail in rebate avaiable at this time. Included are both VGA and Digital video cables, an audio cable, and a power cable.You can't go wrong with this monitor.

So I originally bought this monitor because I thought it was the evo monitor (that being the monitor that most fighting game tournaments use as a standard because evo championships use it as one). After a week of buying it, I realized that the vh236h NOT the vh232h was the evo monitor and I had accidentally bought the wrong monitor and sent in the rebate making me even wonder if I could return it. I decided to forget about returning it and just stick with what I got which all and all isn't a bad monitor. I tested the monitor by using a CRT in my room and played soul calibur 5 on both doing the same just guard input for the same move. I honestly didn't see a big difference (if there even any at all).Note that if I was going to buy a monitor again, I would get the vh236h mainly because that is the one everyone else is using. I've played on both monitors and haven't seen any real significance. Keep in mind that because it's an LCD, there is always going to be input lag in comparison to a CRT and that's your call if you want to buy one. Positive things I liked are that this doubles as a monitor for my computer as well as my Xbox. There's only 1 hdmi port but I don't mind that. There are integrated speakers in the monitor which aren't that bad, though I don't use them often because I have a sub connected through the audio jack in the back. The monitor's speakers aren't the big sale, but the fact that everything looks nice (at least from my Xbox), which is a big improvement from a CRT view that: 1. didn't put everything on the screen and 2. Was rather blurry to the point I gave up trying to read most of the words on the screen for some games.This is just my opinion of course. I don't claim to be an expert in monitors or technology in general. I just bought a monitor that was a good size for me that would allow me to play my Xbox for a guy that has a budget. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.

I've kept my old CRT monitors for years, waiting for the technology of the flat screen type to prove themselves. After finally getting tired of the width limitations on my CRTs, I took the plunge. I spent days going over articles about LCD vs. LED, etc., which actually made me hesitant about any of them. Still, I looked for the best deals for the money. I choose the Asus 23" LCD, and bought 2, one for me, the other for my wife. Once I hooked up mine, I was blown away. The screen was big and gorgeous. And it was bright. Too bright, as a matter of fact. I had to quickly turn the brightness settings down below the factory setting on both monitors. Definitely not a big deal. Other reviewers mentioned the poor audio of the built in speakers. Since we use external speaker systems, this wasn't an issue for us. I'd gladly recommend this monitor to anyone in the market.

For my last two years of college I had the same roommate and used his TV and XBox. When he started getting stingy about the XBox, I got my own, but still used his TV. Then we graduated. He moved out. His TV went with him.Not wanting to give up my gaming experience, but not being equipped with large amounts of funding, I decided to avoid an HD TV and go for a much cheaper HD monitor. Since I could set it on a table in front of me, I did not need to get something with huge dimensions, but I did want HD capability and an HDMI connection for my XBox 360.This ASUS monitor, which I purchased after considering the options and reading the reviews, was worth every dollar (which was far fewer dollars than any comparable TV I could have acquired). More versatile than a TV, due to its VGA and DVI connections for computers without HDMI outputs, and delivering every bit as much picture quality, the only thing this monitor can't do is connect to RCA or component devices, though there are converter boxes readily available such as this one: New 3 RCA Composite S-video R/L Audio to HDMI Converter. This would be useful for connecting a Playstation 2, for example (to prevent glitches with the PS3's spotty backward compatibility).Besides being a good value, this monitor looks sleek, takes up a minimum amount of space, has a rather easy to use OSD (anyone who complains about it just needs to spend 30 seconds figuring it out), comes with a rugged box that makes it easy to safely transport, and generally works in a "smashing" fashion.An additional detail which may be valuable for people with XBox 360's is the fact that you can plug speakers into the audio output on this monitor, routing sound from your HDMI into better speakers than the obviously tinny ones built into the monitor. Prior to acquiring this, I had purchased a Microsoft audio adapter which allowed me to pull audio separately from my XBox while using the HDMI cable. This monitor eliminates the need for such a device.I know that some people have complained of flickering issues, but most if not all of those people have later realized that they had a defective unit, and were able to get a replacement under warranty with minimum hassle. A 1080p image, fitted to this screen, will display at approximately 100 pixels per inch, which is the typical resolution of most monitors and laptop screens. This resolution is tight and crisp, but the pixels are not so tiny that details are obscured. This monitor makes my gaming a pleasure and will serve me well until such time that I deem a TV a necessary purchase.

The monitor arrived within the time specified, and is crystal clear. I have never plugged in the speakers. Monitor speakers are notoriously bad, so I didn't even bother.My last monitor was plugged in with VGA, so this is obviously a thousand times better. No bad pixels. I tend to turn OFF my monitor when I am not using it, as opposed to letting the power saver take over, so I often change inputs on it accidentally. The power button is obvious, I just, flub it, I guess! The buttons could be labelled more clearly, I have to take a flashlight to see the symbols. White on black probably would have been better.Once I got it to the settings I wanted, however, the power button was all I needed, and the input button when necessary. :)

I got this monitor as an second screen for my Macbook pro so I could have more screen space when doing design work. The design of the monitor looks good and hook up was easy, the only con I have is that the screen is not as clear as my Macbook (2008 non-Retina). Even at the monitors highest resolution the text is not as crisp and colors seam to be over saturated. I have adjusted the on monitor settings and still have not got the text clear. I then hooked it up to my wife's HP and it seams to be about the same quality as her screen, so now she uses it. Other than that it works great and the speakers are a nice plus. I would defiantly get this again but not for a Mac extension, not sure why there is such a difference but I will have to keep looking into it.

We had a 19 inch screen for a long time and we wanted to treat ourselves for Channukah. So I picked out this monitor. I got it the NEXT day since I joined Prime. It is such a wonderul product! Great monitor. I also am getting a $15.00 rebate that is being offered.I am hard of hearing (getting a BAHA unit Feb 7th), and the built in speakers are awesome! I hear every word crisp. The buttons are hard to find but they are at the bottom of the monitor. I never heard of this brand but I am very happy with it. The package was very well secured. You will be very happy with this item. I saw alot of negative reviews but maybe they got a defective monitor, I dont know. I am very happy with this and would have no problem getting another one.You will truly enjoy this product. I wish I can give it 20 stars instead of five! ;)

Bought this using Amazon Prime and have spent almost two weeks trying to get a full screen picture and never got any sound out of the speakers. I'm returning it. I wish I could give it zero stars.The single large sheet of instructions uses a font so small I have to use a magnifying glass to read it. And it refers to buttons I don't have.I've tried HDMI with half a dozen known good cables and only one works at all if a 22.5 inch screen is all you want. There isn't any sound so I tried a separate audio cable. (It shouldn't need a audio cable with HDMI.) On the desktop the fonts have fuzzy shadows while the icons are clear and sharp.In VGA mode the results are worse, a 21.5 inch screen and still no audio. And it doesn't automatically select the (only) active input source you have to change it. This requires a flashlight so you can read the dark gray on black control icons.The DVI screen is the full 23 inches and the desktop fonts are sharp.The controls buttons are not easy to use. Never did get good at using them and the instructions don't match their behavior. Also the audio button only lowers the volume to restore it you have to go into the menu.Got the above results while using a custom built PC with an ASRock 890FX MB, AMD 1090T CPU, 8 GB ram, Gigabyte AMD Radeon 6850 video card and Windows 7 Professional which works fine with an old Acer monitor and external speakers.

I bought two of these to replace my old glossy screen LCD monitor and a smaller, unnamed Dell monitor. These have the highest rating on Newegg but they were cheaper here, so I purchased them on Amazon instead.I was blown away by the colors, which were fantastic without a doubt. However, I can see this weird pixel anomaly that even my husband can't see. I can't explain it well, except to say that I can see "black pixels" whenever I move my character or watch a video. Both monitors did it, so I chalk it up to that's how it's supposed to be.Regardless, I returned both monitors and have since replaced them with BenQ monitors, which are doing the trick.

This monitor has a very good picture with bright, vibrant colors, and good contrast. If you will need to access the menu or setup on this thing often though, interface with the controls proves to be a challenge because of a clunky interface and button setup. To make matters worse, the buttons for all of this are near the bottom right of the outside of the frame and are very hard too see except in a very well lit room. The speaker system included with the monitor are nothing to rave about, but I, like most of you I suspect, will use a better source for sound. Picked this monitor up for about $120, so I'm happy with the cost to quality factor.

I used this to go dual monitors with an ASUS 236H as this was slightly cheaper. They are different colors but whatever, you can't notice it at all. This monitor was very easy to setup, you just have to snap it into the stand it comes with and it's ready. I have my two DVI going to each of my monitors, and this one has an HDMI connection to my Wii. The speakers are alright quality, especially since I only use them for the Wii. Very glad with my purchase!

I was looking for a secondary monitor to use with my laptop dock, and it has worked out very well for this purpose. I am using all three inputs (VGA - Laptop, HDMI - cable box, DVI - Desktop), and they all work out great. As other reviewers have described, the speaker quality is lacking, but is there if you need it. The colors are over saturated and aren't as accurate as a higher end monitor, but, I only noticed this when it is sitting next to my Dell 2005FPW and displaying the same image.The stand is lacking as there is no way to adjust the height of the unit, but has has standard VESA mount on the back. When I received this monitor the HDMI cable made the screen have a black border around it, like the screen wouldn't fill the display. I got on the Asus chat line and after being disconnected twice (because the tech didn't reply back after I stated my problem ... at all) I called them just to sit on the phone with a tech support guy that said he wasn't sure what the problem was. I ended up just using the DMI cord to get the display to work correctly and giving up on tech support (hung up on him).

Great product. Clean and clear picture. Great features! 5ms fast response. A perfect monitor for everyday use.! I game a lot and it has proven it self with BF3

This is a very nice quality monitor. The image quality is great and it's nice having a large screen for games. The speaker quality is fine, the biggest problem is that it is awkward to adjust the volume. Overall, I would recommend it to everyone.

Picture is sharp and colors are great. I have not noticed any bad pixels so far. I have not used the built-in speakers so I can't comment on them. My computer is connected to the VGA port with 1080 display. I have my WD Live media player connected to the HDMI port and can simply switch between ports.

I was looking for a monitor for work use to expand the viewing size of my work laptop from my Home Office, and I had previously bought an AOC and very pleased with it, but I thought I would try this product due to the high reviews it received.I am pleasantly surprised.Picture quality is good. Viewing angle is very good. I would not recommend this monitor for graphics work, but for office work or general gaming or media it performs fantastically.The speakers are not great, but function. I would rank their quality between that of laptop speakers and a decent pair of desktop stereo speakers. Good enough for attending Webinars, listening to Pandora while working, or other voice or low-fi needs. I bought this product with that exact use in mind, and am very satisfied.The menu system is not very intuitive (I've only ever had one monitor, a CRT, where it was), but it rarely ever gets used. The built-in and automatic options function very well. I use a DisplayPort->HDMI adapter from my Laptop and it works great.Monitor sleep and wakeup are on par with what would be expected of an LCD.I only wish this monitor had a builtin USB hub because my Latop is quickly running out of USB ports.The good quality, good features, and great price have me ranking this at 5 stars. This monitor is a class higher than its price would lead you to believe.TLDR: Great value for its class.

I am using three of these for my gaming. They are great, Colors are realistic and non-glare screen keeps glare out of your eyes. The only bad thing is that I think Asus should re-think the way they do buttons on their devices. They are laid out hard to use. The on/off switch is positioned extremely hard to push. I have a laptop of theirs also and the buttons were NOT seen by me until I read the user manual (something I HATE to do). I DO recommend them though!

Picture quality is great, response time is good enough. I wouldn't recommend this for gaming but for every other application it's great. I bought it to eliminate the need for speakers and only use an HDMI cable. The speakers are poor like laptop speakers but that's all I need. The menu system is cumbersome but usable. No dead pixels and I've owned it for over a year now.

during night hours (when i use my home PC), the top and bottom of the screen have large bleed areas from the led back lights. so 1.25" of the top and bottom are not true black at all. This is a cheap monitor. I would not get this for my main.

The Asus 23" LCD Monitor is not going to win any design or performance awards. But, I think the combination of price and average performance make it a good purchase. If you are not looking for the best LCD Monitor, then this is a completely acceptable option.

The only thing I don't like about the monitor is that after I bought it, the next newest model higher went for the same price.

Works perfectly with my Sony Vaio docking station. Set up was easy and has great resolution. HDMI port works perfectly, Speakers on the monitor are a bit weak, but this is to be expected to this type of product,

I purchased this as a replacement for an aging 19" LCD that had become nearly useless, on a system that also had a 17" second monitor connected (As a photographer I frequently use two displays for photo editing and sorting). In the process of looking for a new monitor I decided to try and kill two birds with one stone, and get a unit that would work both as a high-quality computer monitor for photo editing (which means being able to color profile it!) and some gaming, and would work as an HDTV when connected to a TiVoHD unit. I looked at a couple of different options, including some HDTV units that could work as computer displays, but in the end decided that the price and quality on this ASUS monitor would be the way to go.Since then I've had no regrets - it came quickly with no damage or dead pixels, the HDMI input works flawlessly, it has speakers built in (not the worlds best, but certainly good enough for basic gaming or music, or even TV) as well as an audio output, for passing the HDMI audio out to better speakers. It also includes a DVI input, and can work with a standard VGA cable using an included adapter. Of course being a photographer I've turned off most of the "special" color modes & settings and instead use a hardware device to calibrate it and manually adjust the RGB settings, which tend to be very stable and resist drift well for a consumer-grade display. Having played with some of the color modes (Scenic, Theatre, etc) before turning them off they do provide a variety of useful options, especially if you're using multiple inputs - one of the best features is that it remembers your mode settings between inputs. So I can have my custom settings for the DVI input while I use the theatre settings for my HDMI (TiVo) input, and it remembers and transitions between the two seamlessly.Having said that, there are some problems with using this as a TV unit. First of course it has no built-in tuner, so you need a TiVo or some other HDMI device to provide a signal. It also has no way of remotely switching the inputs - some displays either include a remote, or have the option of configuring keystrokes to switch inputs that could be programmed to a universal remote. This display does not - so to switch inputs you have to hit the input button on the front of the display. It also has no remote way to adjust the volume, other than the buttons on the front of the screen, and the speakers aren't of the highest quality or volume. Of course most low profile monitors & TV's suffer from weak speakers due to the thin size, but these are probably below average, even for built-in monitor speakers.Overall, I'm very happy with this display and it works well for my needs. All-in-all it's a great choice as a consumer-grade monitor, even for my picky, very color-specific photography needs.

First off I'd like to start by saying I absolutely love this monitor.The monitor came in a nice package and was easy to set up. I had a little trouble setting up the screen display because I'm using 1080p HD video settings, but I think that was because of the way my card was set up. Once I figured out the problem of the dual screen settings I was good to go. Games look amazing in full HD on this monitor. BF3, SC2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Skyrim, and every other game I have look outstanding. Of course you need a good card to help maintain good FPS and high graphics, but the monitor makes it worthwhile. The screen is nice and big, not so much that you're overwhelmed, but so you can see everything there is to see and you're not hindered by a small screen. Movies look amazing as well in full 1080p on this monitor. You can change the settings of the monitor to theater and game mode for example. All that really does is change the brightness and contrast, but it's a nice touch. The speakers in this thing are alright, I wouldn't get the monitor just for the speakers, but they are nice if you're watching TV with a friend. If not I just pop on my turtlebeach headphones and either listen to music, watch a movie, or play a game.All in all, this monitor is great and can fit a budget. It's not outrageously overpriced, but it's not too cheap either. It's a great monitor and is really all you'll need. Its great for games and movies. I picked this up back in August I believe and haven't had one problem with it yet. No dead pixels, no flashing, nothing. You'll be glad you bought this monitor!

We are pleased with our Asus VH232H monitor. The monitor's size provides a lot of computing real estate and makes it easy to work on multiple documents or programs simultaneously. The colors are bright and vibrant with excellent contrast. And the resolution is sharp. The built-in speakers are adequate for regular computing noises and background music. But I reckon that hard-core gamers will want an independent speaker system. The multiple inputs also make this monitor versatile.I gave the monitor four stars instead of five for only one reason: the first monitor we received had to be returned. Several pixels were stuck on red. But Amazon's customer service is outstanding, and we had a replacement monitor in less than 48 hours. The replacement has worked flawlessly.This is a great monitor for the price!

I just bought this monitor took it out of the box and it was set up in under 3 minutes. It is so crystal clear and vivid. I can not believe how bright every color looks. I have not used the speakers but lets be honest who uses monitor speakers? they are garbage compared to any other speaker on the market... I am not gona ding an egg on that account. I played skyrim and it looked absolutely amazing. I have been using a 4 year old 22 inch dell monitor and now i have a dual set up and side by side this one blows it out of the water. I can not say one bad thing about this monitor when it comes to the picture! and for those people who complain about it being so bright that they turn the brightness all the way down and still cant look at it. they are completely false, its called sitting the proper distance from your monitor and opening up a window to let some light in people. I turned my brightness down to 50% in a dark room and its perfect for day or night use... and to those that say their monitor was DOA duhhh it happens not everything is going to be perfect. I just did a complete comp build and everything was perfect. don't believe people when they say dont get it because i got a DOA monitor... SMHall in all amazing!!!!

Has everything I need. HDMI and full HD. The display looks awesome with my gaming rig! Nice size screen too at a great price!

This is a great monitor for my home office. no problems, works as it should. Spending 9 hours/day using it.

I needed a decent monitor to my work because the CRT I was using was starting to go and i found it hard to read. I saw this monitor in a computer shop for about $250 so I did the research on it and found it was highly thought of. Then when I went to Amazon and found it for less than $150- it was a DUH! decision to pull the trigger.It comes with speakers which are fine for simple sounds and speech you may find on websites- video and the like. Don't count on them for your tunes though. Display itself though is doing just what I needed, a great looking screen where the text is clean. I'm not a video geek so I'm probably easy to please as compared to my more technical review peers.BTW, it was about 2 weeks before I was going to hook it up to my work setup during which time my grandson hooked it up to his xbox 360 and put it through some quality testing. Lets just say it was a sad day for him when i finally had to take it.

I bought this, received it next day. Perfect handling and shipping on Amazon's part.I have my Xbox 360 plugged into it via VGA and its only decent. I have higher hopes for when it is HDMI.The monitor has no dead pixels as other reviews say, it is big and vary clear picture.I like it so far, I will test HDMI tonight and if the quality is good ill probably purchase 2 or 3 more.I will update this review after testing on a few different platforms. But for now its worth the money(haven't even hassled with the $15 rebate yet).Update 9/8/12:I purchased an Acer monitor of the same size and price and placed it next to this one, needles to say the acer is going back and I'm ordering a few more of these.Update 8/13/12:I have formed an addiction. I have 2 and am ordering a 3rd before they discontinue this model.This is THE BEST monitor for the price. I spent weeks comparing specs and on paper, only a few compare and in person this is it.The one con:The borders are large. Having them side-by-side creates a 1.5ish inch gap that is not the most desirable.

- Good color quality.- As mentioned by many reviewers already, audio really sucks. If you need a monitor with integrated speaker having reasonable audio quality, THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT TO BUY. Audio quality is below average.- Menu control is really tricky. The menu control reminded me CRT monitor 20 years back.

I wanted to write a quick review to offer some advice about how to remove the bottom stand in order to attach it to a VESA compliant wall or desk mount stand. When you unbox the monitor, part of the stand is attached and it's not obvious how to remove it.To detach the stand, you need a pry tool (small flathead screwdriver or "case opener") to remove the plastic backplate of the attached stand. You can ignore the two exposed screws inside the stand -- they don't hold down the backplate. Once you have removed the backplate, the three screws you need to remove will be all exposed.For reference, I bought two of these monitors and the Dual LCD Monitor Desk Clamp Stand to attach them to my desk. So far, so good. My only complaint is that the internal speaker monitors are a bit too quiet -- which, unfortunately, is not uncommon with LCD monitors.

I bought this monitor back in Nov 2009. I was expecting it to be of good quality because of the ASUS name on it. Boy, I was wrong.First, the text are not crisp or clear. If you do even casual programming, this monitor is not good for you.Second, the knobs/switches for turning off, menu, brightness control, etc are very poor. Sometimes I cannot turn off the monitor using the on/off switch so I have to kill the power from my extension cable. The other knobs works on its own. Like the menu would show up in the middle of doing my work.Maybe I have a bad batch or maybe this specific monitor is off quality but I would recommend not to buy this product. There should be some amount of quality control before you sell your product to the market.

This monitor has great specs and a really good price. Plus I found a $15 rebate from Asus. Ordered on friday and delivered on monday. Can't get much faster than that. Plugged it into the computer I just build, set the resolution to 1920x1080 and it looks great. Would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a good deal. Don't know about the speakers because I have a sound system hooked up.

Pros: Great value (there's an additional rebate available online if you look hard enough), vivid screen, very bright, quick access to preset modes (i.e. Game Mode, Night Mode, etc).Cons: Won't win any design awards (stand is a bit old school), cheap buttons (but who ever uses these buttons?)

I needed a monitor that can be used for hi-performance gaming.This is the same monitor that is used in the MLG. The monitor came with a VGA and a DVI cable. It was really easy to assemble.At the beginning the colors were washed out. once u get used to the OSD u realize that you can fix it by changing the view mode to theater or scenery. The Game Mode and standard mode of the monitor are messed up (the contrast is bad and its too bright). This is an amazing monitor for its price and since its matte finish and not a glossy finish , it has an ergonomic design.The in game graphics are brilliant!NOTE:- ALL GAMES WILL LAG ON THE MONITOR FOR THE FIRST TWO DAYS. DONT GET WORRIED.

While I don't think they are accurate, I am happy with the colors compared to my laptop screen as they are easier on my eyes.The image quality is excellent.My only complaint is using the OSD as the buttons are not clearly marked (from arms reach the light color of the markings disappears in the glare of the glossy trim) and the buttons themselves are awkward to use as they take a significant amount of pressure to manipulate. Since I should need to mess with it only rarely, however, that isn't a big issue for me.

Very happy with these monitors. I work from home and use two of them many hours a day. The only downside for me is the lack of an adjustable base. I don't use the speakers.

A 23inch monitor with no reflective screen, beautiful display, HDMI, and a nice, shiny bezel for $140? SOLD. This has to be the BEST monitor for this price. Amazon packaged it really well. Very glad with this so far.

I just purchased this monitor and have been using it non-stop since. It's larger than any other computer monitor I've owned before and with built in speakers it's good for use with an xbox.

I have went through many monitors and this asus, by far, is the best.best in graphics, best in sound, and virtuly no screen lag. im in love. if youre a hardcore gamer like me, this is worth your time and money

It's cheap, and cheap. This monitor is pretty flimsy, the stand is not height adjustable, the speakers are tinny and the color is off. I expected more for $150, but I guess this is what $150 gets now. It works, I'll use it, it's good enough, but I generally prefer higher quality and will pay more or shop better next time. It's not the monitor's fault I expected more...

So far we've been very happy with the ASUS monitor.Good bargin for the money! We watch a lot of TV onlineand the size of the monitor along with the picture qualityare outstanding!

This monitor is extremely good, great colors and great control. Asus has a bad habit of making the buttons harder then hell to press so I deducted a start for that but everything else is amazing.Making both monitors look the exact same....CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
