I had originally purchased the MSI PC60G Wireless 11g Turbo G PCI Card. It worked for about a month and then started randomly disconnecting and effectively not working anymore. After hours of trying to fix it, I just decided to try another PCI card. The Asus PCI-G31 was one of the cheapest on Amazon. I was a little hesitant to purchase since there were only a few reviews posted. With Amazon's excellent return policy, I decided to take a chance on this cheap card. All I have to say is it does the job, with little to no effort. I simply popped it into the pci slot and Windows automatically found the drivers for it. I didn't even bother with the install cd. Overall a very seemless product that does exactly what it's supposed to. Use Windows wifi management and you should have no problems.EDIT: Could not play online games with this card and would get intermittent lag spikes. Replaced this with a WRT54GL and set it up as a wireless bridge and my online gaming is fine now. Just wanted to point this out to people who might play games or stream HD movies/tv.

Finally, a wireless card that is literally plug-and-play in Linux (Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit Desktop Edition). I'm using WPA2 for security with no problems at all.Note: I have not tried it in Windows so I can't speak to that.

Cant get this thing to work at all. If theres a bad one in the bunch, I'll get it!Tried everything including that cd abortion that comes with it. Windows just wontrecognize it at all.First time I ever had a new card that wont work.

Just plugged it in and turned on the computer. It installed flawlessly and quickly. Then picked up my router signal and I got logged on to my home network. It works great and I have no problems. I installed it on a 5 year old HP desktop with Windows XP.

I had a problem with phone line noise that was affecting my dsl speed. the solution was to run a new short dedicated dsl line in my basement. I was already using a modem/router for my laptops so I bought this unit for my desktop that was 2 floors above the new modem/router location. install was simple. I downloaded drivers. everything worked quickly. its been well over a month, no dropouts, no problems. good product

This product was quite surprising. Easy to install and both adapters worked the first time on each system. I would recommend downloading the latest drivers from the mfg. website and completing the driver install before installing the adapter. Doing the install in this manner apparently left me with nothing to do other than add the wireless network to network adapter configuration. I let Windows control the adapter using Wireless Zero service. No problems after a month!

I purchased this product for my recently built desktop computer. I wanted something low cost, but that would do the job. Easy install. I downloaded the drivers from the ASUS website instead of using the software that came with the card. Windows 7 detected the wireless connection almost immediately. This card does not get the best reception - about half of what my laptop can get from the same distance away from my router. Also, there are times when the card will randomly disconnect from the internet. If you can, it's always better to use a direct Ethernet cable to connect a desktop computer to the internet, but this card provides a low cost and generally stable solution.

I just upgraded my main PC and wanted to create a media server in the living room from my old box. It only had a CAT-5 on-board network adapter so I needed a wireless card. This is great for the money - does exactly what it's supposed to do. The router is on the opposite side of the wall about 6' away, so of course the signal strength comes in 100%.It was not immediately recognized by Windows XP SP3, but I just ran the autoplay from the CD and installed everything from there. The mistake was to use ASUS' proprietary network manager and disable Windows' network manager. The ASUS network manager looks like something from 1995 and works like it too. It's just some other piece of junk to run in the background to hog more resources. It can connect just fine, but you have to navigate to several screens to connect. Also, it claims that it will save your password and settings, but it never does. So, I have to manually connect and enter the password every time I boot up -- lame!Just install the drivers and bypass the ASUS network manager install and you'll be very satisfied.

As opposed to my old one. I don't know how long ago I bought that thing, but I found it in my closet and tried installing it in my PC to find it didn't work. But, this one (the ASUS PCI-G31) works wonderfully and painlessly, AND comes at a cheap price!

This PCI card is very sturdy, and the drivers are no problem; however, the antenna is a deal breaker. This thing barley functions under my table with the stock antenna. Upgrade it and live happily ever after!

ok so i have had this for 20 mins since delivery and so far its been good great speed and good throughput getting 5 barsi had a cheap usb version before this and it worked for 2 months and died so i bought this one i wish i bought it first well so far its good for me easy install and i took the reviews from other people serious i didnt install asus's wireless manager.

I love it... been using it for 1 month now and still no problemVery good signal, very cheap yet high quality,strong signal, reliable, i use it extensively...Just piece of advice, if u wana install the driver... dont bother putting the CD, just goto asus websiteand DL the driver and then use windows built in software to connect to ur router.....Asus is doing a good job on this model so far....

My older wifi card was slowly dying and was causing pc problems. Bought this card expecting mediocre performance from comments but to my surprise was a lot better than my older card. My router is located downstairs and on the other side of the house but the signal strength is strong. Works flawlessly with Windows 7 via the supplied driver cd. Excellent Asus quality to boot. No complaints

Bought this for my WIN7 64 bit machine. Windows found the driver automatically and it has been working perfectly for the ~1 month I have had it. Reception is better than my old DLINK card.

Upon installing the card I received blue screens the computer stalled at times and would not get past POST however, I then placed it in the last PCI slot which solved the problem I'm guessing that the problem was caused by a resource conflict. The ASUS PCI-G31 worked great after that.

My mom and brother needed wireless hookups desperately on their desktops so I bought two of these and they work perfectly. They both have what would be considered "older computers" and run WinXP & Win7 but they use the internet the most so this was a perfect product.I recommend this for those with a PCI slot and need a wireless adapter.

This card is inexpensive but it requires that the pc be in the room with the router. This defeats the purpose of a wi-fi card. You'd be better off running a Ethernet cable. It's gets poor wi-fi reception 15 ft from router.

Put in the card, downloaded the drivers from the ASUS website, worked perfectly without any fiddling. Don't even bother putting the CD into your computer - Windows' wifi management is better than the ASUS utility anyway.Great price for solid hardware, just ignore the software.

If you're building a Mac (hackintosh) and want wireless, this card will auto-detect as an Apple Airport card with no drivers needed. It doesn't have the latest Wireless N speed, but wireless G is still faster than most internet connections anyways.

This NIC card has horrible radio reception and only works for about 3 minutes after the initial connection is established. It says it's connected, but I only get 5KB/sec download speed on a 3Mbit/sec connection. I plugged in one of my usb stick wireless adapters and it works fine, so this interference claim my ASUS is garbage. Only buy this card if you are look for an interesting paper weight.
