Update: I've had the faulty monitor with the dead pixel sent back and got a full refund with ease. I then bought a replacement and have had no issues occurred since. Very pleased with these monitors and Amazon's services too :)))
Original: I recently bought 2 of these monitors and can say they have an amazing picture quality especially with the 144Hz refresh rate for gaming. Brilliant quality for the price as well, however after about 2-3 hours I found a dead pixel on one of the monitors. I might of just been unlucky as the other monitor seems to be ok for now.
- Extremely easy setup if you don't plan on wall-mounting this.
- Decent colours but poor overall screen quality.
- Noticeable vertical bands; half of the screen of my first monitor was actually a shade darker after a vertical band. The second one had no noticeable bands so that's luck of the draw.
- Extreme backlight bleed all around the screen; resembles curtains.
- A slightly dark bar running horizontally across the middle of the screen (of both monitors). Might just be due to massive backlight bleed, but they have straight edges so I doubt it. The dark patches are at the middle and top.
- A third of the left side had a purple hue.
- Extreme ghosting, easily noticeable by just scrolling up and down on Youtube.
- Using max overdrive and freesync, ghosting is still somehow noticeable when gaming. Makes it look like gaming at low fps. Using max overdrive makes other artifacts visible but I don't know how to describe it. It's like pixels are just brighter instead.
- Screen often flickers randomly.
- Preset colour settings of the first monitor were dismal but the second monitor was actually decent.
- I don't know if curved monitors have an adjustment period or if it's just this model, but even on low brightness (40%, darker than my previous monitor), my eyes quickly felt the pressure. Wasn't as bad with Windows night light but why would I use that at daytime?
- Most importantly, watching any video below 720p/30fps quality was just horrible to look at. You notice every frame.
Overall, I'd say it's okay if you've got a tight budget and really want a big 1440p monitor, but if you do lots of work on a white background or game a lot, I'd stay away. Might have been much better if they left the response at 4-5ms instead of 1ms. Would at least remove ghosting issues. If you watch lots of videos, forget this and go for a 27" 1440p monitor. It's what I've done and I'll never go back.
Ive only been able to get 120hz with this monitor, im using 2 together, i don't know if im missing a way to boost it but my pc specs are top of the line at the moment of writing this (I9-900k 4.9ghz oc, 2080ti graphics) so shouldn't be any issue
Either way these are nice cheap monitors for the specs, they are G-sync and free-sync compatible, pretty light, easy to set up and give a great picture, they can be wall mounted as there is already indentations for a mount
Replying to emails was once a chore, now a delight. No eye strain, just abundant visual stimulus. I am transported into my video games through the clearest of screens, with nothing but my angry girlfriend to break my suspension of disbelief.
The box it arrived in, when delivered by one of the three wise men, is also a thing of beauty. Solid, durable and designed with the ease of assembing the contents. Only the worthiest may reside in such a blessed container.
The only issue I had was navigating the menus - it's like trying to operate a helicopter and the buttons are miniscule compared to my sausage fingers. However, once set up you'll never need to touch them again.
The first replacement had a weird problem with the contrast, which had a strange gradient from the bottom right corner to the top left, and it was also less vivid in colour compared to the first monitor that I got.
The second and third replacements both had significant amounts of dead pixels. They also suffered from the strange dull colours that the first replacement had.
I wouldn't normally review anything as 1-star but based on the fact that it seemed absolutely impossible to get a replacement that wasn't defective, I would totally steer clear of this make. I may have just been really really unlucky, however, 4 defective monitors in a row makes me think that that is unlikely.
It arrived like this.
Otherwise, looks like a good value for this price especially for gaming / watching video purposes.
Kurz gesagt: Alles perfekt!
