I have a very quiet liquid cooled system so previously my old corsair CX750 (green lable) would easily be the loudest fan in the system while playing games. This power supply is no doubt not silent, but overall I'm pretty happy with the noise level. It unfortunately doesn't have a zero RPM mode when the system is idling, and the fan does have an ever so slight "ticking noise" but is very slight and I think is just due to the type of fan bearing than anything actually wrong. It is only noticible when right next to the PSU, which obviously is very rare. The fan ramps up gently, and I seriously doubt anyone with a standard AIO or air cooled GPU would notice the fan noise. Obviously I cannot speak of its long term durability so far. If it does fail on me I will update it here, so if there is no update, it probably means its been all good. It comes with a UK plug and mounting screws, and the packaging was decent
My PC started to switch off unexpectedly due to reported power surges which the PSU's should be able to cope with,
Obviously mine wasn't.
After installation it worked fine.
My only little niggle is that the power leads from the PSU to the peripherals are rather more stiff and cumbersome
than the single coloured wires and they tend to "fill up" the space in the desktop, they also are quite wide and use no colour coding...everything is black.
The lesson here is don't asume that all PSU with enough power will work every board, clearly not the case in my Two MSI boards.
To add to the mystery the 600watt Aerocool that failed to start the two MSI 470 and 570 Works perfectly on a MSI Tomahawk Max 470 board
Cannot say what its like for gaming as i do not do any computer gaming, but this power source handles the power required by a lot of items added to the machine but within reason that nothing is over done.
Easy to fit but if your a novice get some advice before fitting this or any powerpack as there is a lot of things you could do to damage this unit if you don't know what your doing. Very good buy thus far!
(Do not try this at home as PSU contain components which hold a dangerous amount of charge).
As you can see, from the pics the PSU shorted on the underside. Very much buy at your own risk.
One was in a plain white box with no Aerocool branding whatsoever. This one came with blackout ribbon cables like you'd get with a modular supply (but not modular)
One was in a retail Aerocool box with graphics all over. This one had a large Aerocool sticker on the side, and the cooling fan was Aerocool branded, and came with the traditional; braided cheap ketchup-and-mustard cables.
The first one was purchased from fleabay in 2014.
After approximately 2 years. It developed a boot looping issue after an electricity blackout.
Second one purchased on Amazon in October 2016. Still in use today. Average on-time 15 hours a day. No issues with gaming at 60fps, video editing & rendering.
It's in a kind of retirement mode, being only used for twitch with daily use of about 10 hours.
Third unit purchased January 2019 new PC build.
Average on-time 15hrs daily. No issues touch wood...
It has all the connectors that I think most people would want. It is black, so would look good in an open or view window style case.
The cables are clad in a plastic braid keeping them tidy. All the cables are long so should reach anywhere you need.
I am very pleased with this PSU. I wish all items on Amazon were made to this standard.
So would I recommend or buy again, in a heartbeat, superb product.
It's almost as quiet. That means that if there's no other noise in the room it can be heard, just. In fact my CPU fan is louder.
It's not modular so I had to wrangle all the cables in and ziptie them together neatly. They're plenty long enough for a normal sized case.
I bought this unit because it has the CPU 8 pin plug that my motherboard needs and the potential to run a hefty GPU.
Product looks quality and came in good packaging. However, the plugs don't fit properly and require an immense amount of physical exertion to connect, the instructions are poor (no that I needed them, just an observation) and worst of all the unit didn't work properly. I initially thought I had built a new PC wrong, but after much checking and rechecking, realised that the constant crashing was a power issue that was instantly fixed with a quality PSU from a reputable company like Corsair. Seriously, the Corsair alternative was £10 more. Don't waste your money on a cheap mimic.
