I was very happy with the Acronis True Image software, but a little surprised that I had to "Register" for it. The software does a good job cloning my Hard drive over and I had no problems connecting when done.
Of course the laptop is old with an old processor, but has good memory and now a fast Hard Drive.

These have been in production for eight months and we're not even scratching the surface of their write endurance so I doubt they'll need replacement based on usage. They seem to be as reliable as conventional media.

Read/Write speeds are accurate from the manufacturer. This was purchased to replace the mechanical HDD in a low-end office workstation based on an i3 and 8Gb or RAM. This alone gave the feeling of triple the speed. Definitely worth the price to upgrade for added productivity. Other issues mentioned by other reviewers are that it uses a small amount of fast flash memory combined with larger and slower memory for the remainder. My experience is dealing with small Office documents and image files, and this combination works great for an office environment where there may not be a lot of large file sizes as you would with video or graphic design.



So why did i chose this drive. Ill think i was charmed with the price and when i found out his good TBW i made the decision to get it.
This is my first day with an ssd, im using it right now. The installment of windows 10 was super smooth and it boot in 4.3sec. But i wont like 100% recommend it util i get the fire prove in the burning ground, with all the games and month of hard pushing. Let hope for the best.

So far this product has worked great, any application that i throw at it, specially games get destroyed with fast fast fast load time, i can compare the diference we some friends that have i7 and i5 with normal disk drive, of course they get more FPS than my i3 2100 but i love everthing twice as fast to the point i have to hang 5-10sec for them to finish loading. I totally recommend anyone using a HDD to left it behind for photos,music, and videos.
Very pleased with the result so far ADATA.


update: The third one failed 2/26/2020. Going through the warranty process on the third one now....


The print on the package is small. The print in the directions is even smaller. You are prompted to register the product by scanning a QR code, which means doing it on your phone. Of course the registration doesn't take your product code. Without registering the product code you can't get the cloning software. This is especially frustrating on a phone.
Checking support to find a solution pretty much amounts to "make sure you're entering the product code correctly".
Go back to the putting in the 13 digit code. The problem is that the code you have is only 10 digits. There are no other codes that it could possibly be, and there are no numbers missing or scratched off. It's only 10 digits;
After about an hour of going in circles with this, I got the idea of looking up the drive in the device manager, and looking at properties. Whataya know, there's another number ( which is not on the box as they said it was) which ended up being what the registration form was looking for. Cool, now I can get access to the software, right? Wrong.
The next email has a link the says that I now need to enter the warranty code to get the software key. Where is the warranty code? On the back of the drive that I already installed.
This is a text book example of how what may be a great product is ruined by horrible, confusing UI, over complicated product registration process that prevents you from actually using the product.
Never been more frustrated on my life. I literally went from excited to hating this company and vowing to never spend another dime on anything they make ever again.
Take my advice. Don't do it. I can guarantee there are easier ways to buy and use an SSD.

For those interested, I have tested my motherboard and power connections, and swapped them with my (working) C drive; these issues are conclusively tied to the hard drive itself.

I RMAed with ADATA and they quickly sent me a new drive. The customer service was simply quick and efficient which I really appreciated. So now I am trucking with the new drive. Amazon reviews seem to suffer from grade inflation, where if someone likes a product it gets 5 stars. If I had no issue with the first drive I would have done the same. With a large enough sample size, any product will have issues, especially with electronics. So I would bet money the new drive works fine in the long run. It is a different SKU, so I'll post a review there sometime down the line.

Update April 2019: It worked fine for years but died few seconds into a benchmark when I decided to see write and read speeds. So I am not able to get to the data I have in there. It does not show up anywhere. Yeah it lasted years on a light use, but this is still unacceptable by my standards. I am sorry.
For contrast, I've had 850 EVO from Samsung for much longer and it survived lots of abuse. And I mean, a LOT of abuse.


FYI... Make sure you find the correct USB SSD adapter, as not all work with the Pi4. SSD is not the issue, its the chipset inside the SSD to USB adapters.

ADADA has a service station in Brea, California. The technician over there helped me ( by the phone) to bypass " Warranty number" to install software ( I did not write down the warranty number on the back of SSD before install ). He is very patient and hi-skilled.
I suggest ADATA would use ONE Serial Number ( not 3 different numbers ) to identify every single ADATA unit for registration and downloading migration software. The S/N can appeared on box and sticker on unit. It would be much easier for user.
