The ability to keep beverages hot or cold for hours
I got mine as a gift and put it in the cupboard for months because I thought how can this light weight thermos keep anything hot or cold but boy was I wrong it keeps things cold or hot for hours. I also like that it’s very light weight not heavy like most thermoses Products.

Best of the bunch by far
I'm the kind of person who likes his coffee so hot I have to blow on it to drink it. Until now the best thermos I've found was the Stanley Classic 1 liter model which keeps coffee hot for about four hours before I have to microwave the remainder. This Zojirushi thermos has heat retention capability beyond my expectations. Coffee stays piping hot for at least seven hours and drinkable for about another two before needing nuking. The outside of the thermos stays not just cool but cold throughout the day so you know there's very little heat loss. Any heat loss has to come through the plastic cap which never gets more that just slightly warm. Coffee pours neatly from the flip-up spout with no splashing or dripping.
To clean, I just swish some hot soapy water in it then rinse it out through the cap spout. I haven't had it long enough to know if the interior will stain, but I've read from others that there's very little at most and cleans up easily.
I can say without hesitation that this is the best vacuum thermos I've ever had and recommend it highly.
Update: after using this for a while, the flow-through cap is leaking at the end of a pour. Coffee runs down the side of the bottle and has to be quickly wiped up. This ruins an otherwise great thermos.....one star removed.

Best lightweight thermos this size

I recently compared all of my 32oz - 45oz thermoses and this was one of the best ones I had. I filled them all up with really hot water around 180 degrees Fahrenheit and this one was at about 118 after a little over 48 hours
I'm going to be testing all my thermoses to see how good they are at keeping things cold soon to and will update with photos of my data and thermoses that I've tested as well

I will NEVER buy another brand!!! SUPURB!
This is my second Zojiruahi thermal - the first one is 16oz and is AMAZING. However, I needed something for an all day supply of coffee. I’ve tried all the big named thermal products and they all fall short when I compare them to this brand. After I started on a road a long road trip - finding my coffee was warm at best just 3 hours later was the end of it. I purchased two different larger sizes. I filled both with boiling water - 24 HOURS later they were still both piping hot!!! Tip: never drink out of the thermos and just pour what You need into a cup to prevent burning. I also did an ice test - there was still ice in both of these on DAY TWO!!! If you feel like the price for these are high - compared to other brands they are on point- the only difference is that these are SUPERBLY better!!! I will never by another brand. All three of my thermos bottles/cups have had consistent results and my first one is going on two years without fail.

Keeps beverages super hot-but it leaks!
This mug is great in many ways. It is large enough to provide me with tea for the entire day. I fill it then pour it out into a cup to let it cool because it also keeps my tea piping hot, even into the next day! The problem is that it leaks when pouring, not from the spout but from the bottom of the screw on cap. Very disappointing!

If you want the best!
This is my 2nd Zojirushi thermos....first one I bought 4 years ago was the 20oz version....which still works great, but just a bit too small at this time. That one is better suited for driving with the flip top. This one holds FOUR cups of coffee plus some room to spare. The spout, while not perfect for drinking directly pours excellent!! Most important....keeps coffee HOT for many hours. You may pay more, but you do indeed get more value!

Awesome product, no idea what everyone is complaining about - nothing leaks, I tested it. Heat retention is fantastic, as in their other products. Filled the bottle with boiling water at 4 pm and took it to a campground overnight at around freezing temperatures, water was still hot enough the next morning to brew green tea. The color is awesome too.

It's Japanese space magic
Amazing heat preservation in a compact form. It's about the gaskets and keeping the contents away from exposure at the lid, a vacuum bottle's weakest point. Just like their smaller cousins, this keeps your bevs HOT.

Keeps tea/coffee piping HOT
Keeps drinks HOT! HOT! HOT! I appreciated this as I sip tea/coffee all throughout the day and night. It hasn’t leaked on me once. I trust I’ll be purchasing another as back up. Also, the red with camping design is super cute!

Great at preventing Heat flow
The Japanese have done it again! This product keeps hot hot and cold cold for the full day. The cup cap is great in cooling off my hot coffee before I take sips.

Easily the best vacuum themos on the market.
I got this bottle in the stainless steel finish as an early Christmas present. I have been a fan of zojirushi for a long time and this is my new favorite model. I fill it with coffee at 4:30 AM and have HOT coffee literally ALL day long. This bottle seems to defy the laws of physics. The only place that heat can be lost through this bottle is the plastic top but even that seems better insulated then previous models. It doesn't even fairly compare to other top brand thermos vacuum products because it's on a whole different level. You can immediately tell that zojirushi put a lot of effort into bringing you a quality product. Each one has it's own serial number! Lol. What other company does that! I don't think there are any cons about this bottle but if I had to take one I would say that I wish it was slightly more durable. It isn't that it is weak in any sense, it's just that it feel more like a finely tuned instrument than a rugged outdoor or camping/backpacking product. That said though, it wasn't really made for that anyway. I wish zojirushi made a SJ-JS10 in a thicker gauge stainless or with a rugged removable "plastic" shell that allowed me to throw it into a backpack or drop it on the trail without worrying about scratching or denting the beautiful finish.

Product has a nice finish to it, and has a good mechanism to release water from it. This is the third product that I have purchased from the company. The size is also easy to hold, but at the same time, the internal chamber is narrowed to maintain the heat or cooling of the liquid, so the capacity is limited, and you need to purchase a larger/wider product to get a larger capacity.
It also has a good size for cleaning but this may be difficult at the dispense point, because the flow through channel is really small. As the dispense point is small, things like tea needs to be brewed prior to filling up the bottle.
This and a few other reasons, such as my partner complaining that it is all about country of manufacture, where this is a Japanese product, made in Thailand...are the reasons I did not give it a full 5 stars.

I am very disappointed with this bottle. As a fan of Zojirushi products I was expecting a quality item. The storage capacity is good and the heat retention is great but the lid design is awful. The mouthpiece leaks everytime it's used.

Brilliant at keeping things hot or cold. Nothing else comes close but it would be easier to disassemble a nuclear reactor then to get to the funk and smell that can fester deep in the bowels of this rubics cube of a lid. I had assumed it would be in keeping with the great simple approach used on other bottles. No chance. What a shame.
