Increíble miniampli.
Lo uso con un violín electrico, me hubiera ido mejor el acustico quizás. Sin embargo es muy interesante usarlo con otros tipos de música o simuladores de amplificador que le da un aire fresco y nuevo al violin. También como altavoces. Lo recomiendo (y viene con CUBASE una pasada de programa)

Buen sonido pero sin DVD software incluido
El software no viene incluido en DVD como dice en las especificaciones.
Hay que descargarlo, y si tienes suerte hasta lo puedes ejecutar en un PC
En cuanto al ampli muy bien se puede simular muchos sonidos jugando un poco con los controles

Perfecto para tocar en casa, con efectos básicos. Pequeño, pero muy versatil. Buena relación calidad-precio. Por lo demás, me llegó antes de lo que me habían indicado, así que ha sido una compra redonda.

Gran sorpresa!!
Para casa ideal. Estan muy logrados los distintos tipos sonidos, modulaciones etc.....
Lo único que se echa en falta, es algún pedal para poder cambiar de limpio a saturación sin tener que hacerlo con la mano!!!

Calidad en miniatura
Perfecto para practicar con un buen sonido. Para su tamaño ofrece una calidad notable. Además, cuenta con posibilidad de conectarle un auxiliar (movil, ordenador, equipo de música) y tocar sobre las canciones

Increíble calidad de sonido para su tamaño
Sonido cálido, "cremoso", emula un amplificador de válvulas a la perfección. Potencia de sonido sorprendente para el tamaño. Diseño precioso (sólo cambiaría el plástico trasero y lateral por madera para que fuera perfecto).

Excelente equipo en prestacion y tamaño.
Excelente equipo. Dinamica, volumen, efectos, feeling. Todo lo que uno necesita en un embase pequeño y transportable. Estoy muy satisfecho con el equipo y con el servicio. Gracias!

Buena calidad y muy versátil
Se trata de un amplificador de 10W con varias emulaciones de distintos amplificadores de válvulas. Tiene una luz para simular el encendido de las válvulas, queda muy curioso. Es metálico menos los laterales que son de plástico. Muy bien diseñado. A mi me llegó la V2.
Tiene 5 modos: clean, crunch. lead, brit hi y modern. Tiene distintas roscas para controlar el gain, master, tone, los efectos y el volumen general.
Tiene dos roscas de efectos que se pueden combinar. La primera lleva: chorus, flanger, phaser y tremolo; la segunda: delay, reverb, spring y hall.
Lleva salida de auriculares y toma auxiliar.
Lleva incorporado un afinador.
El asa es muy útil para mover el amplificador de un lugar a otro.
Tiene la posibilidad de usarlo con 8 pilas AA.
Se puede conectar al ordenador con un cable usb incluido para usarlo como tarjeta de sonido y grabar con una versión que trae de cubase ai.
Suena muy bien y tiene potencia de sobra para usarlo en casa.
Conectado el ordenador se puede usar un programa, que se baja de la página de Yamaha, el THR Editor que sirve para emular otro tipo de amplificadores y generar distintos tipos de efectos. En el modelo superior THR10 creo que esos efectos se pueden grabar el el propio amplificador para no tener que estar conectado al ordenador.
Yo normalmente lo uso con pilas y va muy bien. Cuando usemos el cable a corriente hay que conectarlo siempre a un enchufe con buena toma de tierra para que no haga un ruido descomunal.
En general se trata de un muy buen aparato totalmente recomendable.

Perfecto como ampli para casa
Tiene todo lo que necesitas para tocar en casa:
- Unos sonidos increíbles, mejor que muchos amplis "de verdad".
- Suficiente volumen para practicar en casa
- Entrada de audio para poder tocar sobre tu música favorita
- Salida de auriculares para tocar sin molestar
- Afinador
- Es pequeño y bonito.
- Es fácil y rápido de usar. Enchufar y tocar.
Además suena muy bien como altavoz para poner música con un mp3 o el teléfono.
La versión superior (THR10) tiene alguna función más, pero para mí éste es más que de sobra.

Es justo lo que iba buscando. Mis hijos han invadido mi casa con sus juguetes y este ampli es de un tamaño perfecto. A bajo volumen suena muy bien. Cero ruidos de fondo. El ecualizador se echa en falta por eso 4 estrellas. Aunque hay un app Android que te hace el apaño..

Perfecto para tocar en casa, es bonito y tanto los sonidos base como los efectos son estupendos. Esto de un aficionado, no profesional de la guitarra.

I have to admit I bought this having done scant research, it appeared in a 'top 10 bedroom amps' list somewhere on the net, I liked the look of it, and Yamaha's pedigree so away I clicked on my favourite online store.
What came through the post was a fantastic box of tricks. I didn't realise it has a tuner function - albeit rudimentary it could come in handy if I lose my clip-on tuner. The most amazing thing is the USB connectivity, I knew you could use this to load patches for different amp models but it came as a massive surprise to find out you can actually record into the supplied (online code) Cubase software! This is mind-blowing, I didn't know this was even a thing.
Back to the basics; the tones the THR5 produce are so warm and gorgeous, if you're lazy or in a rush you can use its onboard FX and it's not to be sniffed at! the delay is very decent. The ersatz glow of the valve amps gives such a nice impression and overall it looks the business - I love that transistor-radio-y metal body look, the handle, the tactile feel of the on-off switch, the compact size which doesn't require a monolith occupying your floor space. It's all there, and what's more all the cables are there too - Yamaha haven't skimped on this side of things either; I could easily imagine having to buy your own USB A-to-B (the type you normally see for printers) but no, it's right there in the box, as is a 3.5 jack-to-jack for plugging in an external source to play along to. It's all there.
I'm struggling to find anything to criticise.... no, I can't do it.
It's an amazing package at a remarkable price. One of my best ever purchases and that is really, really saying something (saying something).

The amp is great, i liked it and was very please with it, until i used it with batteries. I specifically wanted a battery amp but it cut out repeatedly at any more than half volume. I tried a new pack of heavy duty Duracell but same thing. A check on line pointed out its a known fault. I wast even playing loud , just some blues. The amp its self, great, sound quality impressed me, sounded great whn i connected my phone to it, effects great. small neat fitted nice on the shelf. I returned it as the battery thing annoyed me. Cutting out while playing is annoying. My aged cube that i unfortunately sold after this arrived would let you belt it out all week on one set of battery.

My Fender Frontman practice amp starting dying recently (the reverb circuit probably) and I was looking for a small amp with a big sound. Anything I tried under £200 in the shops nearby sounded pretty disappointing, and I was faced with the prospect of shelling out for an expensive Marshall 1w tube amp until I discovered this wee beast.
The THR5 is tiny - it's similar in size and shape to an old timey radio or toolbox. Easily small enough to sit comfortably on a desk. The metal frame feels quality and there are cute touches like the tactile power switch.
It offers a good selection of amp models - the clean amp is brilliant for jazz and the modern is great for high-gain distorted riffs. Each amp model sounds quite distinct and they offer a lot of versatility. I'm also surprised by how warm they sound - the digital modelling works. The effects are a bit full-on - I'd like a more subtle reverb for example, but they're a welcome addition to the package and, in combination, you can create some very weird sounds.
The amp is plenty loud enough for living room practice and it could certainly disturb the neighbours if you turned it up.
Can't recommend it highly enough if you're looking for a tiny amp that sounds good and doesn't break the bank.

I bought this for my son who is learning to play the electric guitar and takes his guitar to and from school. He can now take his practice amp with him. I'm particularly impressed with the effects that it has built into it, and the built-in tuner. It looks great, is well made (as you would expect from Yamaha) and gives a surprising loud amplification for the size of it. It's enough when going at full chat in my son's bedroom to make me have to ask him to turn it down a bit when I'm watching TV! He hasn't experimented with the connectivity to the PC yet, but that's next. I recommend this if you want a small amp that doesn't clutter up a room but gives a good sound.

I wish I had bought one of these many years ago - it is the perfect practice amp for home. At £158 on Amazon at the moment I just had to get one. This THR5 version is easily loud enough for any home situation - very rarely do I get anywhere near the maximum volume. The quality of the sound is really excellent - as a modelling amp it sounds incredibly realistic - I prefer it to the Pod XT that I have for amp modelling. Overall I can't recommend this amp enough - it looks cool, has fantastic amp models, quality of built in effects is great, is brilliant also with your own pedals/stomp boxes and is easily loud enough for a home situation and the sound quality is really fantastic and I find very enjoyable to play through it.

All round brilliant and much more than just a practice amp This amp makes a great desk top monitor - I can run stereo in and out through the usb from logic to hear whole backing tracks or keyboards clearly. I was a little worried it might not be loud enough but it certainly is for at home. Guitar sounds across the range are brilliant and nuanced and sensitive. So portable with the size and running on batteries. I totally agree with the high level of enthusiasm of other reviews ... just buy ....there's no way youll regret it - it will inspire you to play more especially with such easy set up.

Possibly the best 150 quid I've ever spent. The dynamic range of this thing - from clean to hi-gain - is quite phenomenal. Possibly the first amp I've ever owned, practice or otherwise, that I haven't spend a year and a day fiddling about with and plugging various external effects into to get a very, very decent sound at low, home friendly volumes. Just superb. Combining the built in amp models with the built in chorus / delay settings offers some very professional sounds; and with the addition of an auxiliary socket, you can play along to your favourite backing tracks to your heart's content with guitar and backing track merging seamlessly. Down graded by a star because of a weird raspy rattle that you have to spend some time playing around with settings to eliminate on clean sounds; but honestly, for an amp that's about the same size and weight as my fiancées handbag - and funnily enough, the same colour - it is a stunningly impressive piece of kit. If you ever get fed up with being confined to one room because of heavy gear / complex setups when you just want to play in the bedroom, in the lounge or wherever for a change, this little practice amp is both amazingly convenient and versatile... Oh, and produces sounds that simply defy the price tag.

this amp is superb. the value I find is also excellent. the tube effect light is very nice and the size means to me its easy to store and when in use isn't intrusive. I haven't used the battery powered yet but on mains I am very happy. I would buy another and am already thinking of the THR10
