Call it an exaggeration, overstating, a misstatement”, misinform—but in the end, it’s a flat out LIE.
Don’t get sucked into the name XEROX and believe what it claimed their product does. For instance, the product description, and manual claims that the device scans at up 4500dpi. It’s not true. It’s a LIE. After weeks of going back and forth with their, stick to the script, no-nothing tech support the bloody outfit had to FINALLY confess that IT DOESN’T. Their “solution” was to point me to a 3rd party software that would require that I AGREE NOT TO USE IT COMMERCIALLY.
------
“B205 device supports maximum resolution of 600 dpi only from document glass. It is wrongly stated in user Guide and product document page.. (sic)Also the tools provided with the device supports only up to 600dpi and will not support 1200 dpi or higher. 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution can be achieved only by using third party twain software like irfan view etc.”
-----
Meanwhile, their manual states:
SCAN
• Document Glass: Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi optical (LIE)
• Effective Output: Up to 4800 x 4800 dpi (LIE)
It also claims that it prints at 1200dpi. I wouldn’t believe that either. How would you know?
None of the above are misprinted but—straight up aimed at deceiving.
PLUS, plus… you can’t apply an upgrade patch without being connected to a network. I’m not a “user” my experience with computers spans over THREE DECADES and has worked as an engineer in some of the top tech companies in the world. You can take it from me—this machine is a big fraud. I am recommending that Amazon and other leading online outlets remove this device from their inventory due to misleading information (LIES) stated in its description
DO NOT BUY

The Xerox B205/NI is well designed and built making it an extremely reliable printer. It was simple to set up, taking less than 30 minutes. The prints are crips and clear. It’s perfect for home office work or the serious student, and it can easily be used by multiple users. It has a simple status display and menuing system that is logically setup and easy to use. It can be connected to a network by Wi-Fi and ethernet, and cell phones and tablets can connect directly by using the Wi-Fi direct option. The scanner can be used to photocopy, scan to file or email It quickly and quietly scans papers and picks up even the smallest details. The document feeder can be used for queuing items to be scanned quickly. The plug and print USB feature is easy to use and useful, I've used it to save photocopies directly to USB. The fax option works great, is easy to use and has all the features I would ever want.
Overall, this is a great printer built with high quality components that delivers the dependability Xerox is known for.

This Xeros unit does everything exceedingly well. The setup is very quick and intuitive with the software. It is basically plug and play right from the box. The screen on this unit is clear and very easy to read. It operates smoothly with no freezing. The screen is pretty convenient to have because it's very user-friendly and easy to operate. So far, I have used it to print, scan or photocopy over 550 pages for my small business, without any paper jams or any other issues. The only complaint is the steeper price tag. However, this is a business-grade unit so it should withstand heavy-duty use. Overall, this is still a great multifunctional printer that's perfect for your home business or small office and should give many years of service. Full marks from me.

I agree with others that the print quality is excellent and that it's nice to have three machines in one however there are some items that make this a deal-breaker for me.
1 - The wireless connectivity does not work, this is for both Wi-Fi connection to the network and for direct wireless printing. Try as I might I could not get the Mopira app to find this printer. With the Xerox Workplace app, which I use for the other Xerox printers, also could not find it on the network. The only way I could connect and use it was on networked PC's.
2 - For a hi-mid-range option it's slow when compared to other makes in its price range such as Lexmark printers
3 - For its price, there is no automatic double-sided printing, again other makes in the price range do provide this handy feature.
4 - Copying is single-sided as is scanning.
5 - Printing from a thumb drive is limited to only PDF files, it sees files such as jpg, png, and gif but will not print them.
Getting it connected on the LAN was simple enough with Windows machines immediately finding it and making usable. It does come with a driver/utilities CD but I downloaded the latest version form the Xerox web site.
Scan to network feature does work but trying to configure any feature on the two-line LCD display is painful.
I was able to print off a status report which shows the LAN IP. I was then able to connect to the IP via a browser but wasn't able to make any changes as I needed to be logged in. The manual tells me the user name, admin, but nowhere in the included documentation does it tell me what the password is. I needed to go online and search to find out that the password is the machine's serial number. This number appeared on the status report so after about half an hour I was able to use a browser to make changes. The web menu layout is not intuitive at all and even when using this interface and setting up the wireless connectivity it still wont allow printing from a phone wirelessly.
On the upside, it is capable of using both cheap paper and also heavier stock to produce excellent prints.
I can easily give it 5-stars for print quality but with a large part of its major connectivity not working and the fact that there is no automatic double-sided printing/scanning there's no way I could justify giving it more than 3 stars.

The setup isn't too bad, and the manual is easy to follow.
This is ideal for documents, and text, but it's not ideal for images; the clarity and quality is lacking, plus there isn't color. It prints quite quickly; the number given is 31 pgs/minute, and it seems to test to about that.
The 2 sided printing function-- you have to flip the darn thing yourself! -_- We're not in 1990, this should automated. Xerox has been doing printers for decades, so I'm not sure why this feature isn't present with other printers on the market.

The process of getting the correct driver in place (multiple options on the website) was the first annoyance. And it wasn't discoverable to my Mac on the network connection -- so it's not announcing via Bonjour.
Next, the challenge of configuring the scanner. Well, that appears to work primarily via USB (the network attachment was not visible in the TWAIN drivers, nor was the "Scanner" function there in the printer options). So, we settled on scanning to a network share. Not ideal, but workable.
Finally, the marketing copy said "two-sided" was a capability of this printer. Never in my dreams of the last decade would I have thought this to mean *manual* duplexing... but it does. This printer does not automatically flip the page to print on the reverse side.
In all, it's cheap... and it shows. With a name like Xerox, I definitely expected better.

Setup was easy though not as smooth as with touch screen printers. That being said, the process only added about a couple of minutes cycling through the choices. I used WPS at my printer and router to set it up and that can save a lot of time in setting up Wifi.
The printer requires very little warm up time. When I say little, I mean a few seconds! It prints pages very rapidly and far faster than any ink jet. The print quality is amazingly crisp and the grayscale is of such good quality you forget you are looking at a black and white picture.
Copying is fast and smooth. The feeder feeds damage free pages rapidly and accurately.
Prints come out the front middle portion of the printer and stay within the printer's footprint. There is no paper tray sticking out and that means more freedom on where to place the printer. No worrying about someone snagging a paper tray and taking down the printer.
This printer's quality is impressive along with its copying and printing results. It is light for a laser printer. Ideal for those who have large volumes to print such as home office workers or students. One advantage of laser printers for those that do not print frequently is that there is no worry on having ink heads drying out due to lack of use. A basic multifunction printer that provides all the necessary services except a built in fax.

It also has a document feeded and flatbed for scanning.
That said, this has been the most challenging printer I have ever set up.
1. The menu system shows 2 lines at a time and is difficult to navigate.
2. The ethernet was disabled by default. This made the entire process much more complicated than it needed to be
3. My Windows 10 machine could not install the printer due to missing drivers. When I tried to download them I got a 404 error saying the page could not be displayed.
4. I ended up using the drivers on the CD. I have not done this in years.
5. When I finally got the printer going it printed a cover page before each print job. This is a colossal waste of paper
I am a tech by trade and have installed countless printers in the past. This is the worst of them.
Once I figure out the cover page issue I'm sure I'll like it.

Still, this Xerox machine feels like a solid business-class experience. There aren't the fancy colour touch screens like the newest ink jets have but this is built like a reliable business appliance that will simply print, scan and photo copy in black & white for thousands of pages. If you want a solid workhorse that just works, then this is a good option.

[Experience Using Product]
The Xerox B205 Monochrome Printer & Scanner/Copier comes well packaged and is easy to set up, using the included detailed manual; it also comes with a driver installation CD, however you can also download the Windows/OSX drivers directly from the Xerox website. As for the cables and besides the powder cord, a printer-to-USB cord and ethernet cord is also included.
As for usage, you can print up to 31 pages per minute in black and white; it prints quickly and the start pack of black ink can last up to 1,000 pages before being replaced, which is much higher than most competitors, being more consumer-friendly. While using Google Print, I experience no complications while printing - all pages came out in good acceptable quality with no smudges or quality issues; in total, I printed 35 work related documents for this review.
The interface is poorly designed and offers a small black and white LCD screen which is frustrating to use when configuring settings; many all in one printers in the same category offer 3-6" coloured LCD screens with a plethora of options - this is the biggest let-down from Xerox - it feels like the company is stuck in the late 1990's/2000's with its design which makes it unattractive as a consumer. In addition, having the ability to add colour cartridges would have been nice - as I work in an office most of the day, we sometimes print coloured documents, therefore having a black and white ONLY printer will restrict its popularity and sales, given that business owners and individual consumers want an all in one printer with endless options and features.
[Conclusion – Final Thoughts]
Overall, if you are looking for an all in one printer that will mostly be used for printing black and white documents, this will get the job done and perform exceptional well, however if you require something with more features that is also more interactive (coloured touch screen) look elsewhere.

SET-UP:
Set up was quite easy. It was not as intuitive as some of the HP and EPSON printers I have tried, but it was fast.
SIZE:
As soon as I took it out of box, I realized that this printer is not that big at 15.8 x 14.3 x 14.4 inches and not very heavy at 24 lbs which is expected from printer aimed at home offices and small businesses.
TOUCH-SCREEN:
This multi function printer lacks touch screen which is disappointing. The tiny dimply screen that comes with is very outdated.
MONTHLY PRINT VOLUME:
With recommended monthly page volume of upto 2500pages, it is sufficient for busy home office or small businesses.
CONNECTIVITY:
Ethernet 10/100 Base TX (Embedded type), High-Speed USB 2.0, Wireless 802.11.b/g/n
Mobile Printing: Apple AirPrint, Google CloudPrint, Mopria, Xerox Print Service Plug-in for Android
PRINTING:
At 31 ppm Print speed can be considered great at this price range. Maximum Print resolution is Up to 1200 dpi (enhanced). Print Quality is sharp and Clear. First-page-out time for printing is around 8.5 seconds.
COPY:
Maximum Resolution: Up to 600 x 600 dpi
First-page-out time for copying is around 14 seconds.
SCAN:
Scan destinations: Scan to Email, Scan to Network (SMB, FTP), Scan to PC, Scan to USB, Scan to WSD

This printer includes 120-sheet output tray.
Main Paper Tray Capacity: 250 sheets (Paper Size 4.14 x 5.85 in. to 8.5 x 14 in.)
Automatic Document Feeder Capacity: 40 Sheets (PaperSize: 5.8 x 5.8 in. to 8.5 x 14 in.)

COMPATIBLE TONERS:
106R03580 5,900 pages (Black) ,106R03584 24,600 pages (Black)
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Overall, this is very capable and fast printer. Print and copy quality is exceptional. Hardware is great. I still miss touch screen on this printer which is pretty standard now a days. Other features such as double sided printing is also missing in this printer.

You can print directly from your iPhone or Apple device using Apple AirPrint or from your Android devices using Mopria or Google Cloud Print. The all-in-one printer has its own built-in Wifi so you can connect directly to it instead of routing through your network.
PROS
+ Prints fast and reliably – 31 pages per minute!
+ Print quality is clear and crisp – excellent for B&W text documents
+ Built-in WiFi direct connectivity – print directly from your smart phone, tablet or laptops! (Using AIrPrint, Google Cloud Print or Mopria)
+ USB port allows you to print directly from a flash drive or external hard drive
+ Covers most (if not all) small business and home office needs – prints, scans, copies
+ Low cost printing per page – comes with a starter cartridge (should last about 1000 pages)
+ Great all-in-one printer for printing in large volumes
+ ADF capacity of 40 sheets
+ Output tray capacity of 120 sheets
+ Input tray capacity is 250 sheets
CONS
- No auto duplex capabilities when printing, copying or scanning two-sided documents! I think that should be a must-have for offices. You have to manually flip the page if it’s two-sided which is a pain if you have a thick double-sided document that you need to scan/copy/print.
- No fancy screen. It looks like a dinosaur – a printer from the 90’s or 00’s I thought had gone extinct! If you like or have gotten used to operating printers with more modern touch controls and big LCD screens you might be disappointed.
- It’s tall and on the heavy side (about 24lbs) but not an issue if you have a big desk or filing cabinet to sit it on.
* No fancy color printing as it’s a monochrome laser printer, so if color is must-have for you, look elsewhere!

I did, however, have a few negatives regarding this printer. Although setting it up was pretty easy using the cable, I had a lot more trouble setting it up so that it can be used using my WiFi network. The instructions weren't clear for me and it took a lot longer than I anticipated. As well, the printer offers 2-sided printing but you need to flip the page over manually. It's not automated. Also, the LCD panel and buttons were a little bit confusing for me and took a little bit of getting used to. Because it feels like a pretty bare-bones home office printer, I'm hoping it can last.
Overall, this printer is just okay. The true test is to see how long it can last before it breaks down to see if it's worth the price. The 1-year limited hardware warranty does make it seem promising.

Xerox B205/NI Wireless Monochrome Printer with Scanner & Copier
Xerox B215/DNI Wireless Monochrome Printer with Scanner, Copier & Fax
There is about $100 dollar difference in the price point of these two printers. Both are intended for small business, or home office use. They are both monochrome printers, printing in just black and white and grayscale. Both support Windows, Mac, and Linux printing. Both print at 31 pages per minute. The 215 has a touch screen interface, but also a lower recommended monthly usage by 1000 pages. The 215 also has fax capabilities which the 205 does not. And both models take the 106R04347 replacement toner cartrage which will run you about $100, so roughly 3.4 cents per page.
Both are good printers. If you do not need the fax functionality the 205 will likely meet your needs. If Fax is essential then the 215 is a great offering at a fairly reasonable price for the device and for authorized refills for the toner.

Print is clear.
Works well on various media products.
Scanning works reasonably well.
It will do double sided prints but it's necessary to manually flip the page.
The 40 sheet document feeder saves a bit of time.
No improvement on the standard capacity of250 sheets.
Convenient 1 page feeder, if that is all you need to print.
Small screen but buttons are placed conveniently.
Has basic wi-fi security features.
This isn't something that we'd purchase ourselves because there are a few better options available in the same price range.
For a small office or Frat house where documents are needed without colour this isn't a bad option.

Aside from the fact that it failed miserably and the instructions were sort of limited, it all turned out okay. Until cleaning time came. I took it apart again and it's a bit of a pain to get it cleaned. All the parts: container, lid, but worst of all, as I used the angel hair attachment, I eventually figured out what the little pokey tool provided was for.... to clean it. Trying as hard as I could, I still couldn't get all of the dough out of the holes while using way to much water so I gave up and waited till it dries to scrape the remainder off. Wet towel all around the non washable parts of the machine and back in the box it went until next time!
Overall, here's my take on this machine:
- Limited instructions, lots of learn as you go
- The attachment should be stamped as to what they're for, because the drawings don't make it very clear
- The amount of effort to get it cleaned up afterward is astounding
- Leaves a bit of unused dough in the machine after you're done
- Neat little compartment to store your pasta mold attachments
Now the long awaited question: Is it worth the money? To me, it is a bit too expensive for what it offers. I guess it all comes down to how much you like pastas.
WARNING: Upon removing the shipping labels and plastic tabs from the toner cartridge, there will be black powder everywhere. Do this in a clear area, away from your carpets...
So to start off, setting this up was a rather straight forward process. Unbox it, take the power cable and USB-B cable out, plug the machine in and wait for the system initialization. I've noticed that every time you boot or reboot it, it WILL print out a config page. To turn this function off, press the "I" button above the navigation arrows, go to Machine setup, turn Conf.Page to Off. Now out of the factory, Ethernet is turned off so if you want it connecting to a network, you will have to enable it, or use Wifi. I decided to go with Wifi setup as this is where most printers fail terribly. Aside from the part where I had to enter my 20 digit password 1 letter at a time which took about a million years, everything went smoothly, it took WPA2 like a champ. I used Windows Add a printer function but it seemed to glitch out half way through. The progress bar freezes and it doesn't go all the way to the end of the process. It doesn't picks up in my Devices page, but I can still send prints to the machine through any app, so it isn't by itself not a big issue. Edit: Upon further usage, I noticed that the alignment of the pages were a bit off. I now recommend you install the Xerox drivers as provided on CD or through their website to avoid issues. Tinkering around with it, I noticed I had two errors: 001 Code 07-600 and 002 code 01-150. As it doesn't seem to affect any of the functionality and since I wasn't able to find any material online in regards to those codes, I'm gonna leave it as is. The printer goes to sleep really quickly (under a minute actually), but the warm up time is literally 2 seconds, so again, not a problem. If it bothers you, that can be changed in the settings.
Pros:
- Super quick prints, blows any of my other machines out of the water
- Easy setup, given you are the least tech savvy
- Solid build quality, feels like it'll still work even if I were to throw it across the room
- Paper tray can be pulled out all the way to allow for easier loading
Few things that bug me are:
- Conf.Page being printed every time machine is booted/rebooted
- Wifi or Ethernet for networking, cannot use both simultaneously
- No hot swap for the latter, upon turning Wifi On/Off or Ethernet On/Off, you have to reboot
- No two sided printing, has to be done manually
- LED screen is not backlit
- Annoying Banner page (Basically a extra header page with file directory and name printed every time). To disable this, go to your printer Internet services page (Input Printer IP Adress in the browser bar). You will have to set a new password, by default it will be your unit Serial Number. Go to Properties, Services, Printing, Banner page, set Banner Page settings to Disabled
