I should have listen to the old saying, "If the price looks too good to be true, then it is!" First sign of a problem, the drive was shipped in three bubble pack envelopes. Not in a box, no foam padding, just the three envelopes. I guess that's what they mean by "single pack bulk."Anyway, being an optimist, I went ahead and installed the drive. I started the computer and soon learned it won't mount. Listening carefully, I can barely hear the drive spinning, but the heads are not actuating. I tried just about every diagnostic software I have to get the drive to mount but to no avail.I removed the drive and compared it to other Western Digital Drives I have and immediately noticed some minor differences. I strongly suspect this is a refurbished drive ... which is not mentioned in their advertisement. Given the conditions for sending this back, it is just not worth it.

I bought 2 of these to create a RAID1 on my Synology DS211j NFS. They run smoothly. Quiet and reliable for the past 7 months. Good product.

I have used Western Digital drives for many years and have yet to have one fail (really!). Quality has always been consistently high in all applications, both internal and external. The 320 GB seems to be the most popular (I have several) and the speed and cache size are appropriate for day-to-day desktop use. The big 1 terrabyte drives are impressive, but the smaller size is more manageable. I always choose WD.

Worked fine from the first moment. No difficulties during system assembly.System has been running for over a year - no problems - use is not heavy, though.

I built a light game rig with it, it has been a working horse so far. I do not know how long it will last. Some reviewer said it only last several months. Let us wait and see. The reason I give it 4 stars is that the buffer seems a little bit too small (8 MB). My 250 GB drive has 16 MB buffer. I am not sure if the small buffer contributes the shorter life of this drive.

Ordered 3 SATAII drives - recieved only one, the other two where IDE drives.But they say on all of the boxes SATAII ????????Looks like amazon sent the one that was correct.

I am so glad I changed my noisy Seagate Barracuda with this hard drive. Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drive are known to be very silent hard drives. I am very picky in hard drives because I can't stand any noise. Well, this hard drive is very very quiet, you actually have to place your ear right in front of the PC to just barely hear it. Of course, the drive is also very fast as well. You just can't go wrong with this beauty.

Can't really say much about noise levels or performance, since it sits in a closet as a boot drive for a server. But it has lasted at least a month with no signs of early failure yet. Qualifies as a good drive to me!

I ordered one of these for an HTPC build. It's very quiet which is important for an HTPC and cool which is important for longevity. The HDD in the Comcast Tivo DVR sitting next to it is much noiser. It's also much quieter than the WD4000AAJS it replaced. I plan to order another one of these to replace the HDD in my office PC when I upgrade it to Windows 7.The 320GB size seems to be the sweet spot in the lineup. The 250GB is only a few dollars cheaper. I think 70GB is worth an additional few dollars.Highly recommended as a desktop HDD. I like the Caviar Green series for a server HDD.

Upgrade Dell Dim 8400 from 160 to 320MB using Apricorn Livewire. The new hard drive is much quieter!! You can barely hear it. No problems to report. Works as intended.

I didn't install this since I wouldn't know where this goes, my husband did it for me and I love it. I have SO much more space for graphics, games, etc. It's great to have a separate hard drive for those things.

It's working great. I'm using it right now, lol. I'd actually give it 5 stars, but this my second one. Otherwise it works great. Great price and shipping time. Was able to put it in with no problems right from the beginning.

This drive is probably not for you if you have no idea what Bulk/OEM means in the product title. It means that you'll receive just the hard drive in a plain cardboard box - no fancy packaging, no manual, no screws and NO CABLES whatsoever. You can save a few bucks by getting this packaging if you are assembling your own machine (in which case the motherboard and power unit likely include the necessary cables), or if you are replacing a SATA drive. If you are adding a drive to your Dell or HP or whatever branded machine, you will likely need to buy a SATA data cable and possibly a SATA-IDE adapter power cable.For me the drive works great out of the box. It's a fast and moderately spacious drive at bargain basement price.

I recieved this drive pretty quickly after ordering, and the price was right. Otherwise I've had no issues. It stores data and hasn't failed on me, so I'm happy with it.
