My son & I have had practice in cracking open the Mini ourselves. We installed this hard drive with no difficulty, just time and patience. Now have much more storage.

This hard drive was a great purchase...heard lots of bad feed back about bad packaging..i have to disagree...only thing i have to say is that mine wasn't really a 320 gig hard drive...more like a 297...what happened to the other 22gigs??..ha.ha...i heard they round it up...but 20 gigs is 20 gigs man...ha.ha....its cool though..my macbook works great and its really silent....would most definitely recommend this to anyone lookin to upgrade their macbooks...

Almost since I've installed the drive in my MacBook Pro, it's made a tremendous racket. It sounds to me like a drive that's on its way out. Is this normal for the drive?

I upgraded my ps3 with the 320gb hd and is wonderfull I should have gotten the 500gb but 320 is perfect for my budget!

I did the mod with this hard drive for the xbox 360, works great, no more "ghosting" in GTAIV, or slow textures load in Halo.Very good product for the price.

Like everyone else stated this is THE PS3 replacement hard drive. Whether you got the 60, 80 or 120 GB drive to start out with, you will quickly see (even if you are not a hard core gamer) that it will begin filling up. When you take into account all of the data you can store on your PS3 like pictures, music, etc. you also need to keep in mind that most games these days require a multi GB execution file be loaded onto your hard drive when you play them for the first time. Because of this, I noticed how my drive began filling up quickly (I have about 6 games and about 10 GB's of music and pictures) and before I noticed it I had 34 GB of space used. This drive and the installation process overall is extremely easy (less than 10 minutes excluding backup time) just please be careful and use a good small phillips screwdriver because the blue screw inside the PS3 that releases the drive casing as well as the 4 smaller screws that hold the drive in the casing are VERY EASY TO STRIP. It has proved to be extremely reliable and the PS3 fomatted it automatically when I booted up after installation. This should provide the casual to average gamer with plenty of room for quite a while. I would also recommend (as other reviews thankfully did) purchasing an external case for the old drive so you have a small but functional backup drive especially since this stuff should not end up in the trash. Reduce, re-use re-cycle as Jack Johnson says. PEACE

I bought this to upgrade my 160GB hard drive in my Macbook Pro. I've never installed a hard drive before but am decent with computers. I followed instructions online and it was very simple.The hard drive is silent. Runs a tad faster it seems. So far no complaints about it. Love the extra hard drive space.

I recently purchased and installed this on my launch PS3. I don't notice any difference in speeds between this hard drive and my old one, but I can swear it's a little quieter. Installation on a PS3 is really simple except for the screws which are super soft and can be stripped easily. I'm really happy I got it and now have a ton of room on my PS3!

I bought this hard drive, and installed in my PS3, I pay half of the cost for the one with instructions and it almost twice the size, for instructions I went to the sony website and other with video, easy, 15 minutes.For PS3 you need a memmory stick (USB) to transfer the operating system and backup.

I bought a base model 13" MacBook Pro so that I could upgrade the hard drive myself. I searched all the reviews and tech tests and decided that this would be the best 500 GB hard drive for my money. It hasn't let me down so far. The original drive was a Fujitsu(Apple uses one of 4 different brands), and they perform very similarly. The battery life has extended by about 10% though, and between that and the quadrupled space, how can you go wrong with this?

I purchased the 500 GB drive to replace the 80 gig in my PS3. It went in fine, and works perfectly, and has a massive amount of storage at a fair price. I'd definitely recommend this product to upgrade a ps3.

More than enough storage for my laptop -- enough to partition to do dual-boot -- and is ultra quiet and fast. Haven't had it for too long, so can't comment on it's durability. Excellent buy.EDIT: I have had this product for over a year, and it's a great hard drive. Still quiet and no problems. Recommend

I purchased this hard drive as a replacement for my working drive on my Dell laptop. I read all the positive reviews and figured this would be a reliable hard drive. Boy was I wrong.I got the first drive in February of 2009. It lasted two weeks. I called Western Digital and they wanted me to pay to ship the defective drive back. They finally agreed to paying the shipping both ways.The new drive worked for about three months before it was completely unrecognizable by my computer. It was a reconditioned drive that was sent as replacement. Since I was not able to return the drive without paying someone a hundred bucks to "scrub" the drive to remove sensitive information, I decided just to eat the cost of the drive.In any case, if they are going to send me a reconditioned drive, it is likely that it will fail before a new one would. Fortunately I had my old drive with most of the information I needed.

This was my first replacement HDD for my laptop, and I got to say it works pretty well, It is silent and the speed is acceptable running Windows 7, the packaging was real neat as well, the drive was encased in two black casing on either side keeping it horizontal in the box. Great Buy!

since i haven't heard of this supplier before, i wanted to see some reviews and thank everyone who posted reviews! that's why i'm doing this one. the supplier was Apex Suppliers, LLC.They were very prompt in filling the order and had it in short order. The disk drive worked very well on install, and is works fine, so i had no real need to get back to the supplier, but since the ordering process went so smooth, i would order from them again.(i really cant' say this about a lot of local suppliers i have delt with!)

I used the lap top HD to upgrade my MacBook. Everything went perfectly. The HD is in now as I type this review and has been working for the past 6 weeks of so.I just copied everything over using Carbon Copy Cloner and made the new HDD bootable and voila. Much, much more room and no problems. I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 because no one knows if any new drive will have problems early on until you've used it for 3 - 4 months. If this HDD is still going strong by then I'd come back and update this to 5 stars.Recommended!

Just installed this a few days ago. So far so good. Only rant on this product is it's a bit noisy and slower compared to the 160gb drive that my MBP came with originally. But for the savings and size...its well worth it.

The product shipped quickly. It was very easy to install. It has a lot more memory for your dollar then you get with the hard drive that comes with the standard macbook. i bought it because my hard drive died, but would recommend for someone looking to upgrade as well.
