- + Объем(не толстоват из-за объема), скорость передачи данных, скорость вращения шпинделя, кэш.
- - если только греется чуть сильнее штатного харда. а так, пока все ок., пользуюсь более 1,5...

- - Похрустывание при парковке головки.
По совету знакомых приобрел взамен 250 гигабайтной модели. 7200 об/мин против 5400 об/мин...

I would stand corrected by myself. I now believe that the HD ignites a fan when it warms up and the fan was making the noise all along. When the unit is not warm the drive is quiet. I could even improve on that if I wanted, bought a shosk absorbing material from Edmund Scientific instead of what appears rubber insulator. So please disregard the rest I had written, and apologize if I had negatively influenced anyone.I have just installed 2 of these drives into my Pavilion dv9000.Yesterday I was in the other room, and suddenly my wife (who is a good woman and knows zill about computers) came afte me running telling me that something was wrong because my laptop was giving a strange sound, just like previously when the HD was beginning to scare me, that it was about to die. I was sleepy so I shut it off.Today - first day I am using it, - and all I am wondering is, that how long can I put up with this? They are about as loud as my desktop (but closer to my ears...) . My desktop has about 8 fans 5 hard drives, etc. This seems simply unbearable. Like watching a film on a truck...Now apparently this is when they are running to do something. When they are relaxed, then it has a middle strong state, and then it goes totally quiet. So if you are buying this to do absolutely nothing, than you are in luck. Also if you are over 80, and can lower the volume on your hearing aid.Since I have 2 of these new drives, I was able to verify that both are equally screaming so this is not one defective unit. Still amazed by the number of defective ears out there.George

Highly recommend this drive. I am so happy I did this to extend the life of my Dell Inspiron-1525 notebook, which is now faster than ever besides swimming in free space. It even boots twice as fast as before. Easy upgrade if you purchase the "Apricorn EZ-UP-UNIVERSAL EZ Upgrade Universal Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit"(I got mine at www.amazon.com)

Well lets see,7200RPMSata 3.0GBPs interface in a notebook320GB16mb cacheThis little beast is the next best thing to getting an SSD. I find SSDs premature because they are limited in writes and even though it is a large number, it will be easily filled within a year. This is placed in my HP dv7-1270us. It fits into the caddy perfectly without a problem. It came in antistatic wrap surrounded by bubble wrap to hold it. The FreeFall sensor is only available in the BJKT suffix in their Black line of notebook drives. The HP ProtectSmart inside my laptop is a gimmick.The performance is very fast of course. Copying from the previous drive in eSATA mode got around 70-90MB/s write speed. Loads Windows 7 build 7100 within 25 seconds literally. This sped up my vLiting and other intense write speeds by at least making it 20 minutes quicker. The FreeFall sensor ACTUALLY works, not a marketing gimmick in other competing hard drives. I made it copy 7GB worth of ISOs just for the heck of it and when I purposely crouched myself and the laptop as if I was dropping it, the write on the screen paused after the 200ms and resumed within 2 seconds like normal. It won't quit out on you in the middle. Lets say you dropped the machine while you are copying large files, once your laptop is on the floor, the files will continue like normal without a hitch! Amazing!!! I have owned this for 2 months and it works great. Loading a library of 20,000+ songs encoded in FLAC takes no more than 5 seconds in Winamp. Loading the songs into the drive took about 45 minutes and 1 minute to add to the library in Winamp. This drive actually gave me 15 minutes more battery life than the stock Fujitsu in both idle and being used. HP ProtectSmart doesn't recognize this but who needs it when they got the SecurePark and the FreeFall sensors built in?

I picked up this hard drive to replace the hard drive on my laptop when I upgraded to Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade. At first, I was concerned that this hard drive wouldn't fit - there's always that worry in the back of your head.Imagine my surprise when I openned up my laptop and it turned out that what it had from the factory was an 80GB Western Digital Scorpio 5400rpm. This Scorpio black was the same size as that hard drive and all the fittings were exactly the same.Replacement was a snap. It took 5 minutes and was loading Windows 7 onto it about 10 minutes later. Perfect!This Scorpio Black is Western Digital's high end hard drive for laptops and has a freefall sensor that will park the drive if the hard drive or the laptop it's installed into should be dropped.If you're worried about fit, this Scorpio Black is standard sized and if you're wondering, open up your laptop's hard drive caddy (should only be 1 screw on most laptops) --- if you have my luck, chances are that you already have a Western Digital in there.Overall, I'm ecstatic about having a Scorpio Black for my laptop.If you own a laptop, don't skimp out - get this drive! I'm buying another for my other laptop! That's how much I like this drive.Fantastic!

Fast. Works perfectly in a early 2010 MacBook pro. Does NOT get hot. I can only hear it in a quiet room with nothing else happening...besides that...don't hear it. I'd buy again

There are only a couple of components that are easily upgradable on the Apple MacBook (late 2008). If you are thinking about upgrading your OEM hard drive to a Western Digital Scorpio Black drive and need that extra little nudge to get you to go through with it, here it is. Do it! You won't regret it.The two tools you will need for upgrading your Mac's HD are: a #00 Phillips head screwdriver and a T6 Torx screwdriver. The entire upgrade, including: removal of the old HD, installation of the new HD, install of OS X, and restoring the entire system from a Time Machine backup, took just over two hours (about two hours and 15 mintues). Don't be intimidated by the time it takes. The whole process was very straight forward. I did run into a bit of a snag while removing the mounting screws from the OEM drive. The screws are made of a soft metal and I ended up stripping one of them. But that was the only dramatic point in the upgrade. Without the mounting screw issue, I could have shaved 15 minutes or so off my time.On to the hard drive's performance. The HD runs as quietly as the OEM MacBook drive, it is silent. I have not experienced any of the excessive vibration or heat issues other reviewers have mentioned. If anything, it feels like this drive might be running cooler than the OEM drive under heavy loads. OS boot time and application start ups are faster thanks to the 7200 RPM spindle speed.The Western Digital Scorpio Black hard drive is definitely a worth while upgrade. Who couldn't use a larger, faster hard drive.

I used it for just 10 days. No evident failure but an annoying clicking sound every couple of minutes (sounded like if the disk was stopping and the head parking). I tried to run Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics but always and immediately got the error : "Cable test: Write sector error".I asked support from Western Digital and they asked me to return it for a replacement. I asked Amazon for a refund.Probably I was not lucky, but this was my first and last Western Digital hard disk purchase.

Cloned my existing hard with Acronis True Image 10, swapped in the Scorpio drive, turned on the laptop (Sony VGN-FZ260E) and it worked like a charm! Booting, shut down and program loads are noticeably faster. Unlike some other reviewers, I heard no additional noise from the drive. If anything it is quieter than the original Hitachi drive. The only problem I had is that the old drive does not fit in the drive enclosure I bought for the Scorpio. So I have a bare drive and an unusable enclosure left over.

I've had my 80GB PS3 (Motorstorm bundle) for almost two years now and as every PS3 owner has come to expect, I began to run out of space on my standard hard drive. I decided it was time to get a new hard drive; something bigger and it wouldn't hurt for it to run faster too. So I looked around for a good hard disk drive and a friend recommended this one in particular.As soon as the hard drive arrived, I backed up my data onto an external 500GB hard drive and began replacing the PS3's hard drive. Overall installation (not including the back-up and restore) took about 5-7 minutes. It was clean and simple.After installing the new hard drive, I noticed installing games is a bit faster now (nothing significant, just noticeable). But the best part is knowing you can install games and download as many demos as you'd like without having to worry about space. Hard drive has been running fast and smooth for about 4 months now.If you own a PS3 and need extra hard drive space, this is the one to get.

I've been looking for a hard drive for quite sometime and ran across this one. At first I was put off by the reviews with people claiming that it would vibrate their laptop off the table. But I figured I'd give it a shot. I bought this to replace and hard drive in my MacBook Pro. When I first got it I got a usb enclosure so I could copy my complete hard drive over to it about 150GB, which took a reasonable 3 and a half hours which was pretty satisfying. After removing my old and put my this one in I was worried about vibrations but after turning on the computer. Nothing. Pure silence in fact it's actually quieter than my stock hard drive which was shocking! I noticed an instant improvement of about 15 seconds on boot-up. Applications noticeably loaded faster, spotlight search snappier. In general the computer responded like I always wanted. I would say that the 16mb cache is a big help as well as the 7200rpm since my older hard drive was 5400rpm and probably 8mb cache. All in all not sure what other reviews are pointing to but this hard drive seems to be the best buck I've spent in a long time and I highly recommend it!

I tried to hook up this drive externally using a Bytecc BT-300 (SATA to USB converter). Under CentOS Linux 5.x, the various disk tools (smartctl, fdisk, parted) reported that the drive was 2.2 TB and did not support SMART. This was the same device and configuration that works perfectly with a Hitachi 7K320 drive.Once I connected it to the internal SATA bus, it behaved normally. I was able to copy my data from the Hitachi drive (connected with the Bytecc) successfully.Very strange. So, I give it 3 stars due to "ease of use" being degraded.

I upgraded needing more disk space for my work laptop. The drive runs cool and quiet with no problems so far. Installed over 3 weeks ago and it runs at least 10 hrs a day. I noticed an increase in data transfer rates to/from the drive as well a quicker boot times. My old 160G Seagate drive (Momentus 7200) was only a couple of years old so the performance boost was a pleasant surprise (I kept it with a minimum of 19G free and regular defrags).I did my homework before buying and I'm sure you won't go wrong with picking either of the two top contenders of the 320G drives. I really wanted to go with a 500G but decided it was still too early with the reported issues. Ultimately I picked this drive for the (real) free fall sensor, performance specs and better warranty.

Recently replaced my MacBook 160GB HD with this WD Scorpio 320GB . Three worthwhile points to make.1. Noticeably quicker than my old 5400rpm HD.2. Very quiet3. I have noticed an improvement in my battery life. Not equal to old 5400 rmp HD, better.I highly recommend this HD.

Most of my problems with this product were self inflicted. I mis-stepped on data transfer stuff... the actual drive went in and out smoothly and seems to be working flawlessly (after a couple of weeks). Once it... it went right to work. I experienced a touch of the vibration experience... but it seemed inconsequential to me and after re-seating the drive in my MacBook and making sure all the screws were tightened, the vibration seems to have gone away. I was a little disconcerted with the "BULK" packaging (no pretty box from Western Digital)... but there are plenty of resources on the web for help on install info and I found it nice to not have to dispose of extra boxes. I have refrained from dropping my notebook to find out if the motion sensor works but I do notice a huge improvement on starting and loading things. I don't want to rave on and on... but so far my experience with this product in my MacBook (late 2008) has been very satisfactory.

This review applies to model WD3200BJKT not Model: WD3200BEKT which does not have the free fall sensor----I purchased this drive to replace the 100gb, 7200 rpm Hitachi that came with my Dell Inspiron 9400. So far the drive has been equally as quiet, a little bit faster and of course much larger. I have noticed none of the vibration that a another reviewer noted. I have reinstalled Windows XP Pro on this hard drive at least five times in order to give the drive a good test copying and modifying files. So far this drive has passed every test with flying colors.Pros:Size - 320gb = lots of storage space.Warranty - 5 year warranty (unheard of in a laptop hard drive)WD's ShockGuard(tm) technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks during shipping and handling and in daily operation.WD's SecurePark parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off. I was a bit skeptical about this drive after a lot of people were stating that it wasn't that much faster than the 250GB Seagate Momentus 5400.4. Anyway I followed my mind and I wasn't sorry, because this drive with it's 16MB cache 7200rpm was a step faster in the tests I ran using HD Tune Pro. I cannot attach the pictures but here are the results. Transfer Rate Min/Max Average AccessTime BurstRate CPUSeagate Momentus 26.7/63.6 MB/s 48.7 MB/s 16.3ms 85.7MB/s 5.6%Western Digital 36.7/84.4 MB/s 61.9 MB/s 14.7ms 107.0MB/s 4.2%These are the results I garnered with my laptop between the two drives and as you can see from the results the Western Digital Black Scorpio gives a nice boos to the system. My laptop is a Lenovo SL400, 3GB DDR2-800 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz 1066FSB, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Reader, Webcam, etc. If you are not able to spend big bucks on a SSD Drives, definitely get the Black Scorpio. It is definitely worth the money and the Free-Fall Sensor doesn't hurt either.

I upgraded my ThinkPad with Western Digital 320GB Scorpio Black from ANTOnline I noticed an immediate 20%-25% performance increase over the previous 5400 RPM drive and no decrease in battery life and no increase in heat + It's dead silent! So I guess this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it...

Need a bigger drive for my new Lenovo T61 couple weeks ago. Sales guy talked me into buying a Seagate for $5 less, which proved to be a disaster. Never Seagate again!This WD drive works! As I am typing on T61 this moment, there is slight vibration under my palm. Other than that, it is just great!
