good value. It's hard to find the smaller drives, andthe older machines will not necessarily work withthe larger ones.

I've purchased several as replacement drives for white MacBook's and they're a perfect fit and match for that use. Quiet and reliable for $30. I also purchased several external USB 2.0 enclosures to put them in for TimeMachine back ups so an identical drive for size and speed between an internal and external making a perfect pair.

I just never really HD issues with WD drives failing. Seagates, Maxtors, had to deal with those going bad but WD? Now some people don't like WD for their reasons but for the price and quality anything else is a tough sell at least to me.

Used the hdd for my ps3 SLIM and it worked great! Sometimes it would make a strange noise but that might have just been the ps3 itself.

I bought this hard drive for an older laptop that didn't have one so I could install the Windows 8 Consumer Preview on it. So far, it has been detected by the computer and all the software installed fine. I have noticed that it sounded noisier than other hard drives, but that could just be where it's placed on the laptop (on mine, it slides in the side so it's right next to the touchpad). I got this one because of the price, and it has worked so far, so I'll update my review if it breaks in the future.

120 GB Western Digital HDD, factory packaging. Great price and quick, reasonable shipping. This is a bare drive, not formatted so it takes a few minutes to format. I use it as a portable hard drve with a GT Max enclosure, so for less than 40 dollars I have a nice portable HD. Seller provides very good service/ support.

It wasn't the product that I ordered. They sent me a hard drive for a laptop and I had ordered an older model hard drive for a desk top, but I plugged it in and it works, so it's ok! :)

Product installed and is working fine. I have almost exclusively used Western Digital hard drives and have had no problems withthem. It did however take longer to be delivered than I would have liked but I can't complain too much about free delivery.

No issues at all other than the USPS sent it to the wrong house. Thankfully they were able to retrieve it and then get it to me a couple days later. My nephew had received a XBOX 360 Slim for his birthday and never realized that he would need storage room for game data, upgrades and demos. Not to mention the convenience of being able to download a game and play it. He plays Xbox live all the time so we were concerned that adding an "altered" drive might break that and it did not. It took me less than 20 mins to flash the firmware on the drive and install it. Best of all it was at normal people's cost instead of being raped at Microsoft prices. Very happy with the purchase.

This hard drive was really easy to install and is working well as a replacement in my brother's Toshiba L300 laptop.Note that mine did not come in a retail box but is shipped in an static shielding bag and properly secured with bubble wrap. I could not relate anything on the hard drive to the packaging, so I could not confirm that it was in the original OEM packaging (I did not pursue the answer very much and just trusted it was). It not being in a retail package might be something to note if you were planning on giving it as a gift.

New hard drive works great. Only thing you need to know (which I found out after the fact) is that you need to format the hard drive before installing. In order to do this, you need to purchase a USB to SATA adapter cable for about $20. Then you hook to another computer and format. Takes about 10 sec. But the cable is around $20. From there, install new hard drive, and then boot system. I used recovery DVD for my Acer Extensa 5420. It took about 45 min to complete installation of Windows XP. All works great now, no issues whatsoever.

Got this drive 1-2 years ago for a Dell 1720 and under normal internet surfing and normal daily used and it failed inabout within 2 years.

I am a neophyte at computer hardware - especially on my daughter's Mac Notebook.Installed it fairly easily. I didn't realize it needed to be formatted but the helpful Apple store took care of that. It is working fine.

I bought this item for my PS3 40gb when i purchased it back in 2008 and it was a great investment. It was a great value for the price I paid for the item. It was a breeze to upgrade the HDD, easy swap and format for the PS3. (It it noted that this was for the original (phat PS3)). I have recently upgraded to the PS3 Slim which contains a 120gb HDD. They release a 250GB recently, but I would advise to just upgrade the HDD yourself, it is cheaper and not that hard to upgrade.

I bought this to replace my old laptop hard drive in April. It died in September, so it couldn't even survive half a year. What a piece of work. I lost all of my notes and everything. My old 2003 internal hard drive that came with my Dell laptop still works, as well as my aging hard drive from about 5 years ago. And yet this thing, whatever you want to call it, couldn't last half a year. I will not be buying a WD product again. I suggest you do the same.

This hard drive is great because of it's compatibility. It is used with a laptop, ps3, or an xbox 360. Western Digital is a reliable manufacturer. My last hd was western digital but it became corrupt so I decided to upgrade. It works fine, and Amazon shipped it fast.

This hard drive was perfect for my situation. My Dell's hard drive decided to fail on me and I couldn't get it working again, so I bought this. Installation was easy, I was able to reinstall Windows in no time.It was also a great deal; the 80GB hard drive from Dell, which I originally had, was around $100, so this was worth it; twice the space for half the price.

I bought this unit to install in a ULTRA Enclosure.This unit is a Serial ATA. The PC board plugs directlyinto a socket.This is not the Parallel ATA/EIDE, Which has two rows of 40 ormore pins.Any way, I use it for for Backup and Storage with aLaptop PC. WORKS FINE

My first one worked for about a month then crashed.Kept getting hard drive access failures.Amazon was very good at replacing it asap.The new one works great.Would get 5 stars if the first one worked.

After a year of moderate use of my Gateway computer the 260GB WD Scorpio Blue BEVS HD developed bad blocks/sectors. I replaced it at my expense but not with a Western Digital product.

This was an excellent choice to replace the Dell (Samsung) hard drive on our labtop. We had many issues with the Samsung hard drive that came with the Dell laptop. The Western Digital hard drive is a smart choice if you are considering purchasing a hard drive. It is very reliable and one of the best products to consider when replacing. Do not call Dell!

Had to send it back to Western Digital because it failed the SMART tests. I had to pay shipping for it too. But WD sent a replacement and it's working fine. Took about 3 weeks from the time I sent it back until the new one arrived. Perhaps if I returned it to Amazon it might have been quicker.
