Great sound and simple to connect to my iPad. A bit tricky to connect to my Windows laptop but not to worry hardly ever use them with laptop. They are strong too, they have bounced onto the tiles of the shower on more than one occasion. Charge lasts well too. Have three and will buy one or two more

As a purchaser of the previous Mini Boombox (model F-00003), this review is mainly aimed at people who would like an unbiased comparison review of the new UE model.
When I received the previous model, I was totally over the moon with it. The sound was excellent (taking into account its size), the shape was not only ergonomically designed, making it very "touchy-feely" but it was also easy to clean. I can honestly say that it was one of the best and most used gadgets I've ever purchased.
So how does this current UE model compare?
When I opened the cocoon-like, transparent plastic box, any "over-the-moon" feelings quickly evaporated. My first thought was disappointment. The outer casing is made of a rubberised material and whilst it can probably be described as "funky", I immediately realised that this cannot be easily cleaned. There are no feet for it to stand on, so the underside will pick up any dust etc wherever you place it. So it's probably not suitable for kitchen listening as any left-over spills will soon be transfered to the base of the Boombox.
Nul points so far.
The new model is slightly bigger and a fraction heavier.
The sound quality of the UE model is brilliant for its size. There is a grille at the front and rear, the latter of which accommodates the base responses, a feature normally only associated with much more expensive speakers. So this model certainly does perform well and produces a slightly more richer sound that its predecessor plus the volume controls are certainly better and more responsive.

However, in my opinion, Logitech have definitely missed a trick by eliminating the pause, plus forward and back buttons which were so useful in the previous model. OK, you can perform these functions on your smartphone but if, like me, you prefer to do this on the Boombox, you cannot. And if you need to cut the sound quickly, it will be a fiddly and time consuming task finding your phone or tablet settings to do this.
Nul points.
Bluetooth connection was easy and fast but mine suffers form frequent and annoying 1 second dropouts which I never experienced with the old model.
All in all, I am in two minds as to whether to keep and use this or revert back to my previous model.
If you're looking to upgrade your old model to this one, I would honestly think twice.

We used this mainly to upgrade the sound system on my daughter’s laptop. Fantastic sound, far louder and better than the speaker she had before, which was 6W. Far better sound than any laptop I have heard and I have a Dell with JBL sound system. Does everything it promised to do at a fantastic price!

I read a positive review on Internet about the Logitech BoomBox and I absolutely agree with it.
The BoomBox is really portable and when it pair with your device it makes a funny sound, so you don't have to remember any led blinking sequence. There are three soft buttons on the top and the volume is really good, if you consider that the speaker is small.
Compared with other big brother of different and "luxury" family, I would say that this speaker is the good choice for price and performance.
I'm using it with my iPad together with Spotify. Lovely.
I recommended it.

This product is amazing, I had been looking for a bluetooth speaker for quite some time, and one that had great bass and great sound quality and this definitely ticked the boxes! It arrived on time and it is so worth the money!!

Almost unbelievable how good this little unit is!!!
Having looks at lots of other units and read loads of reviews, I chose this. However, I was really surprised just how small it was when I opened the box. It really is small!
However, the sound is great. I've tried lots of different music and also spoken voice. Given it's small size, it really is impressive. Plus the speaker phone capability for telephone calls is really impressive. The person at the other end of the call had no idea!
Plus it comes with a USB power block and cable too!

Logitech advertise that the mini boom connects together to get a bigger sound. This is the mobile version and although looks the same does not connect. Apart from that it is a fabulous sound and good quality product

After lot of research and reading loads of reviews of Bluetooth speakers I went for the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. The audio quality is absolutely awful. I returned it immediately and I went for the Braven 570 instead - they cost about the same and the difference is incredible. You were warned.

Nice piece of kit & fairly simpe to link up with mobile phones & play your tunes. Ideal for parties or work areas where everybody can chip in with their song selection & play them for everyone via the speak. Good volume & sound quality for such a small speaker. Come with charger.

Not so heavy as I imagined. Delivers good sound, fair amount of bass and volume is enough for a small/medium room, not for outdoors. Battery lasts around 10 hours, which I find adequate. Overall, good value for the price.

None of these boom boxes are going to be perfect, they're all a compromise on size, price and battery life. This product does pretty well on all. The only criticism I would make is that it just needs a tad more treble. That doesn't make it a bad product but just means you probably play it a bit louder than you normally would. The bass is good for the size. To balance the bass / treble a bit better I've simply blocked the reflex port on the back with some black tape. Bass is still good but just a bit less. Overall the speaker is pleasant to listen to over long periods. I use it on an ipad 4. I notice that when I watch video then there is a slight sound out of sync delay with the picture. This is a common issue with Blutooth audio devices.

Great sound coming out of such a small device. The bluetooth connection worked perfectly first time round on my Iphone and the connection does not often breakdown across my relatively small flat. I've rediscovered the joys of listening to online radio thanks to this.
Unfortunately, I haven't managed to get the bluetooth connection to work either on my laptop or my Android devices yet...

Getting an i pad to connect with x 2 bluetooth speakers ain't easy. But the UE App enables this, with no connecting problems. Delighted with the performance from the speakers no that I can enjoy genuine, effective stereo.

Had this for nearly a year now, NOT A SCRATCH! Very loud and I like the fact that it's Bluetooth so I can be over 10m away, and still control it from my iPod touch. Very stylish in the black and red I got it in, but they don't do that anymore I guess. Got it for a bday present and it's fantastic. One downside is a bit tinny and also buffers a TINY bit when my iPod us far away. But it's great

I was originally thinking i would get a jawbone or something along those lines. I then saw this little speaker with all it can do and the small size. I decided to buy this one and i don't regret it. I always have the speaker with me and even use it to listen to music in the car on my way to and from work. The size makes it possible to put it in a jacket pocket so there is no reason not to take it with you where ever you go.
If there is anything negative i can say it would be the sound is maybe a bit too sharp. But all in all this is a very good speaker and amazing value for money.

I did a lot of research into a portable speaker that I could take on holiday and play music around the hotel/house I was staying in. This is a great option (not if you want to hold a raging party) but perfectly good sound for having a few people around and listening to some lovely tunes. It's also genuinely small so it's very portable.

Really impressed with this little portable speaker, pair your iPhone, computer,etc and you have sounds with you on the road. It certainly won't take up much space in your luggage.

This unit works great with iPod, iPad etc. but one small gotcha - the delay introduced by the bluetooth connection is just enough to throw the lip-sync off when watching videos. Of course you can still use the wire for that, but it's worth bearing in mind if you are thinking of it for enhancing video watching on an iPad etc.

In summary, I haven't tried many other speakers in this class, but I can easily recommend the UE at around 50-60 pounds.

i did alot of research into portable speakers since i travel alot and also like to appreciate music the way it was intended to be appreciated.
i have to admit i am super impressed by this little soldier. i own a big jambox and to be honest aside from volume this is just as good.
if you have poweramp and you set the base too high this thing will dance around the table a bit but i dont mind that at all..

I had a B-Tube before buying this one which sadly and quite abruptly stopped working. This little box is amazing not only is it an excellent mobile speaker for music with an astounding amount of bass for such a very small speaker but it is also very good as a hands free/ conference speaker for telephone calls. Clarity and quality of the call or both ends of the conversation is very good. This is exceptional given that most of these devices only have good clarity in one direction not both. The acid test was when I used it to call my Dad who is very hard of hearing and even he could hear every word I said!!

I bought this as a gift for my sister for Christmas. It is ideal for what she wanted. It seems slightly smaller than the Jambox but with a similar quality of sound if memory serves me.

Works out of the box with Ubuntu ( 12.10 here ) as A2DP sink and also as hands-free phone audio capture / output.
Really needs an integrated Bluetooth adapter, though; we tried with USB Bluetooth and it was very flakey, frequently cutting-out and losing its association after bringing the laptop out of suspension. Using integrated Bluetooth is very smooth and the laptops automatically reassociate when then come into range. Up to two devices can associate and output simultaneously.
Occasionally drops out of lip-synch when Mrs is watching a film on the laptop, but that's more the fault of VLC than the speaker.
Also works with Android phones.

I was very impressed with the clarity and volume of this great little speaker...
For something so small it packs a punch !!... and is perfect for travelling because of its size..
The only small gripe i have is that the speaker looks blue and white on the photo when ordering,
but in actual fact it closer to grey and white.. i know its only a small thing but worth mentioning !!
Overall it gets a big thumbs up !!

This is a brilliant little speaker, no trouble pairing with my android phone (HTC desire), or with my Linux (like windows but free) computer. I use it a lot in the bathroom, no wires, leave the phone in the bedroom, pair, play radio/music, sweet.

Was tempted to get beats pill but UE mobile boombox was just a better choice. Good pricing, good size and weight. Easy and compact. Only problem is how is sometimes cuts out the bluetooth connection (for example, I have my iphone 5 spotify music playing and ocassionally has a cut out noise in the middle of song).
