Quite good with Dropbox on a MacBook Air with limited memory
So far it it is working OK and speed is acceptable for holding a large synchronised Dropbox on my late 2011 MacBook Air running High Sierra. It doesn't drain the battery when the computer sleeps but Transcend's software doesn't allow Dropbox to realise where the folder is after waking up.
As a workaround, when the Menu Bar Dropbox icon complains that there is no folder to synchronise to (and want's to download everything) tell it to quit. Then launch Dropbox from an alias you had made and left on the desktop. Dropbox then realises where to look and does only what's needed. Works for me - hope it does for you too.

a bit of a disappointment, as it worked OK during the time I ...
Purchased May 2015. It is now October 2016 and the drive has failed giving an "exit code 8" error. All the contents are read only, so I had to copy off what I could. Disc Utility could not fix it... a bit of a disappointment, as it worked OK during the time I had it. I also had a problem on holiday, when MacOS would not write to the drive and advised backing up and reformatting - luckily I had my portable drive, which I think I will stick to in future, as the jet drive is simply not reliable enough

Great Product let down by the limitations of OS X
Although I had great expectations for this product, I have been a little disappointed with it. It's not anything to do with the build quality or the data transfer speeds, both of which are fine for my needs. What was unfortunate and a huge problem (for me) was that I wanted to move my home folder to this device and my OneDrive folders. However I have been unable to do either of these things. The OneDrive app will not let you install to a removable drive and if you move your home folder to the drive, your machine will boot without any user preference and will require setting up as a new device every time it boots. This I believe is because OS X will not mount a SD card at boot. I do not believe this is a fault of Transcend and why I gave it four stars. If you just want somewhere to store media files or documents then this is a God send for MacBooks with limited storage and non-replaceble drives such as the MacBook Air Mid 2014 128gb.

The cheapest option to upgrade a Mac's storage!
I bought my first MacBook Air 13" (128HDD, 4 GB memory, Early 2014 model) last year and I wanted to upgrade my storage, after researching various options this 256GB sd card was the cheapest by far.
It's really not difficult to operate, just put the card in carefully, format it to 'Journaled' and away you go. If you have any cloud storage (Google Drive, iCloud etc) I would still back-up anything important, like you would with any external drive.
A small warning - if like me you can go weeks without shutting your mac down fully (because you are putting it in 'sleep' mode, which I read is perfectly fine to do) and you find you can't save to the card, restart your mac and all shall be well again!

works well
works well, easy to install just plug it in ... only issue is the card is a pain to get out again, you need a thin blade to get under the edge and prize it out ... saying that I'm not taking it out all the time as its extra storage that's staying in and no one can pinch it out the side without a blade :)

Storage capacity
I have used this to boost the memory on my Mac computer - I can offload things I do not need to keep readily accessible - and if I do I can retrieve it. I am pleased with it although I have not used it for a very long time - its recent purchase but so far it is a very good deal.
