Using a standard MTU I have been able to push 79MB/sec (Bytes not bits/sec)sustainedFor the speed of hard drives in most of my systems I'm pretty well pushing the max throughput of the drives, including being able to burst at over 90MB/s in the initial data push.Considering I couldn't find a cheaper gigaswitch the fact that I can't find a complaint should make this an easy choice.

Great product! We run 3 lap tops, PS3, Dell desk top and 2 printers (one wireless). My family is ALWAYS on the net. Son plays online on both his laptop and PS3. This switch gave us the ability to speed up our wireless with the flip of a switch. It's quiet and cool...doesn't heat up. I am getting one for him to take to school where there will be 4 of them in one room, all gaming. Great price as well!

For my house my home network is way too complicated (two people but way too many devices and a home office)This integrated easily into my home network allowing me to move three network computers onto one router making them easier to network across desktops and laptops.

I ordered this for my home network. I've had it hooked up for over a month now not one problem at all. I had it drill some holes in to the bracket so I could mount it on the wall at and angle, which made it easy to see the indicator lights and provide a space to set my wireless modem. So far I have an Xbox360, two PC (only one gigabit), a blu ray player, and a wireless router with three laptops, an xbox and wireless printer, and like 10 wifi devices (phones kindles ipods ect). I checked the unit for heat and its cool to the touch, my wireless router gets hotter than this unit. Im happy with my purches.

Got it to extend the wireless across a 2 story house and it works like magic.Small light noiseless and easy to setupprovides very good speed and is transparent to NATting problemsThis is my second TPLink product and this brand is really good for the price you pay.

I have the power for the switch running through my home stereo amplifier, so the switch doesn't turn on until the amplifier does. I usually have to wait a bit (30 seconds?) for the various components to report that they have an internet connection. Aside from that it does it's job.

Performance has been great. The switch has been running for about a month and no issues to date to report. Setup was easy and currently have it working with a TP-Link 4-Port Gb broadband VPN Router.

This 8 port Gigabit un-managed Switch has plenty of ports for future use around the house. Works as advertised and lights up which ports are active when there is a data draw from them. Lightweight and affordable. Great way to split up Ethernet around the house to multiple locations/devices.

This switch is drop-dead simple to use: Just plug this into the wall, plug one Ethernet cable in from your router (to any of the 5 ports!) and connect the rest of your devices to the other 4 Ethernet ports, and you're done. It just works! This switch gives me fast file-transfer speeds between the computers connected to it.

This is not as fast as my L brand Gigabit switch but almost. The throughput is about 600Mb as opposed to about 750-800 for the name brand switch. Still a good deal for the money if it lasts.

This is GREAT for splitting your internet line to multiple computers, especially if you have broadband or cable modem that's fast and don't want to have to connect over wifi. It's super fast, and takes NO configuration. You just plug it in and it works! Fantastic and highly recommended!

Plug it in and insert your cat5's and it works. All my gigabit runs are gigabit through this switch. My transfer speeds internally have been stable...this is a good switch.

There's not much to write about this. I connected everything, hid it out of sight and it just works. I have been monitoring it for temperature and it doesn't seem to be getting very hot. Cooler operation in electronics usually means longer life and I hope this will stay trouble free for years to come.

I was upgrading from an old 10/100 netgear switch. I do notice some speed increases and I like that this has power saving features. I went ahead and updated to cat6 cable too. Idk if it's a placebo effect but my whole wired home network seems quicker.

I purchased this switch for a small home network with public access e.g. a couple of websites.I am subscribing to a few static public IP's for my servers, unfortunately it is limited to somewhere around 700kBs upload speeds.Wish they could balance it more to a 50/50 ratio. Perhaps in the future, although Phone lines have their limitations.On the other hand it seems to be sufficient for what I am doing, with about 18,000 hits per year.The switch is directly connected to the DSL modem and provides thereby 15 theoretical public IP numbers, which 8 of them are used.Throughout the past two weeks the switch is just doing what it is supposed to do, working great.My server have Gigabit NIC's , so at least on this part of the network there will be no bottlenecks.Although, in my configuration I might not be able to use the full potential of this switch, it is nice to know that I have some horsepower left.All over I am very satisfied with the price to performance ratio.

For the price, this thing is unbeatable. i have 22 of the ports in use, i ran cat5e throughout my house, did directv whole home dvr via this thing, works great, reliable speeds, plug n play, no hassles at all.

I need a 8-port ethernet switch to add more stuff to my home network. This worked as soon as I plugged it in. No delay, no set-up required. I just worked as I expected. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and there has been no problems. Nice!

I bought these units as a part of a home upgrade to gigabit ethernet (replaced 10/100 switches). My main router is a Netgear Wireless Dual-band with 4 gigabit ethernet ports, thus I needed these to propagate gigabit through my home network wiring. The TL-SG1008D installed easily, works as specified and are fan-less (thus, quiet, but yet cool).

I've been running this for 2 months now on my home network to extend the network to 2 additional Roku units in other parts of the home and extend the Gigabit router. It works! No problems. Stays cool and I've seen no issues with speed of any kind.

Works great! Installation couldn't be any easier. The lights are helpful and the switch runs quiet and cool. There are smaller units available if size is a premium, but this one seems to work very well.

This switch does what it says on the box. It is compact, lightweight and I like that it is green so that it uses less power on the unused ports.It also does not radiate heat out of the top so that it can be placed above / below other equipment.

I was able to achieve transfer rates of ~560 megabits/sec with this device over a questionable cat5e cable @ 100 feet. I was a little worried that the house is plastic and feels cheap, but it runs very cool, which is a sign of good power efficiency.

The switch works flawlessly, and the gigabit speeds will easily handle any consumer load. I was able to transfer files from 10 of my machines all at once, every one of them transferring at 100MB/sec, full duplex for just about 20Gbps of saturation. I'm sure it can handle the full 48Gbps as stated, I just ran out of machines to test with. It's not listed in the description, but it does support 10k jumbo frames. The lights go blinky blink.It comes with some rubber feet and rackmount ears, which can be placed normally or at a right angle, for those without racks that want to wall mount. It uses the standard IEC C13 power socket, aka the same cable/plug that computers and monitors have, an internal power supply, and it also comes with a grounding terminal.The only downside to this switch, is since it's designed to be installed in a rack, expecting higher temperatures, the fan is a bit loud. Not enough for rage face, but noticeable. In fact it's the loudest thing in my rack, besides my main machine. I'm sure anyone competent with electronics can open it up and swap out the fan, so it's no big deal.Basically- no setup, no configuration, no rebooting, no hassles. Just plug it in, connect your router and machines, then enjoy gigabit speeds on your network.

This hub is fast, 1000mb, simple and easy to install. I had no issues setting it up and it works perfectly. It is installed in my home theater and links to my main hub and router in another room. Most importantly it has no bottlenecks.

My roommate and I are in college, and share a gigabit ethernet plug. we use this to have fast internet on both out laptops, and there is no speed decrease. Works in the background, and I have never needed to restart it or anything.

I would definitely recommend this product to any home network manager or a small business network manager. I use it at home so that all my children's computers can connect at the same time also to break up my linux/windows environment and to add more/better wireless coverage to the house.

Very happy with this Switch. I too tried other more "known" network switches out there, but was never really impressed. Endless power cycles normally fixed the problem but thats not ideal. Based on the other reviews, decided to give this switch a try. Very happy. Have a BD player, two Apple Tvs, a Tivo, a networked receiver and a Tivo all connected into the switch. Many stream HD video. No network issues to report. Also runs very cool too !

Not much to write about an unmanaged switch except that these are inexpensive, simple and worked just fine. I got tired of my weak wireless in parts of the house and had ethernet cables available, so I just put a couple of these in. No issues.

Purchased this for additional ports on our network. The performance is outstanding. The latency between our workstations and application servers was reduced to under 1ms from 4-5ms on our other unmanaged switches. Would buy again!

Works as advertised, a little bit light weight and can get pulled by the weight of the ethernet cables plugged into it, but hey, what ever. It's $15 lol. Very fast, no problems so far, totally worth the cash for a 5 port gigabit switch. Love it.

We had a problem with our wifi reaching through out the house. We are big online gamers and was losing a lot of download and upload. Once we got this switch, we were able to use it to wire our gaming towers up. No lag now :)

This item replaced a Netgear of similar design and this is far better and has more speed and control of the Ethernet ports, It helps out with congested internet by being fast and having ability to power down unused ports, and it controls the ports by data flow which helps out with speed I think. I notice more through put of data and faster. I would However suggest the 8 port switch if you have larger area or for future expansion.
