Get to the end!!! The ending is the best! I can usually spot plot points throughout, but this movie is well worth it to the end. Even if you don't care for the actors, the story and plot are well worth watching this to the end. I don't buy movies, but I bought this one.

Good plot, Great unexpected twist.---- Angelina Jolie is trying to meet up with a man name Alexander, But everyone is after Alexander (the russian mob for stealing millions) and (Italin Interpol). In the process of trying to throw the italians of the trail and meet up with Alexander she meet Johnny depp a tourist who then gets sucked up into a giant mess.

I don't want to spoil the movie, but I will say IMDB.com rates this movie with 6 out of 10 stars and I honestly think it should have been 9 or 10 out of 10. It is well worth the money to buy this blu-ray.

My three bias are: I adore Venice, I adore Jolie's action films and I really like Johnny Depp. For me a win, win, win. The director is one of the best, the extras you get with the DVD are really informative. I liked the storyline, the cinematography, the fashion, the intrigue, the views of Venice. It is modern romantic version of Robin Hood. The good hearted criminal wins and goes free and gets the beautiful lady. Entertainment yes: real life no. It is one of those movies that you WISH could be real.

I can watch this movie over and over again and I have and will again, very well done in every respect. thank you for the lack of filthy language and sex scenes, yet there is one area that i fast forward through, but it is not the hot and heavy stuff you find everywhere else. I enjoyed this movie very much, it showed respect for women, not lust. I hope to see more with this idea in mind.

Die vielen negativen Rezensionen verstehe ich nicht, ich bin von dem Werk sehr begeistert!

Die Story ist toll, die Schauspieler genial und Venedig --> was will man mehr?

Johnny Depp und Angelina Jolie sind super und es macht einfach spass beiden beim schauspielen zuzusehen.
Das einzige Negative ist vielleicht das Angelina manchmal etwas "überschminkt" wirkt --> was aber dann doch irgendwie wieder zur Rolle passt.

Das Ende ist einfach super und kommt total überraschend.

Allerdings mein Tipp wäre, den Film unbedingt in Englisch ansehen, die deutsche Synchronisation ist mal wieder mehr als schlecht und unstimmig zum Original.

Nichts Halbes und nichts Ganzes

The Tourist wirkt trotz der zwei wohl größten Hollywoodstars der Gegenwart ganz und garnicht wie ein Film aus Hollywood.
Wahrscheinlich Johnny Depps schwächste Rolle, er wirkte selten so unterfordert wie hier und optisch wusste er in anderen Filmen auch schon mehr zu überzeugen. Ein blasses und aufgedunsenes Gesicht reicht nicht, damit er als leicht schüchterner und etwas trotteliger Mathelehrer glaubhaft wirkt. Ich habe keine Erklärung dafür, wieso er sich für diesen Film entschieden hat. Es wirkt ohnehin so und das geht auch aus den Aussagen von Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck hervor, dass dieser Streifen besonders die Schönheit von Angelina Jolie zur Geltung bringen soll, während Johnny Depp hier seinem Ruf als Frauenschwarm nicht gerecht werden kann.
Angelina Jolie sieht in der Tat fantastisch aus und passt auch gut in ihre Rolle, aber das allein rettet den Film auch nicht.
Von Donnersmarck ist hier einfach der falsche Mann auf dem Regieposten, da seine Regie viel zu unspektakulär ist - gerade bei so einem Film muss man handwerklich viel mehr rausholen, vorallem bei einer so schönen Stadt wie Venedig. Man muss die schwache Handlung mit einer spielerischen Regie in den Schatten stellen, so dass der Filmspaß trotzdem groß ist.
Ansonsten scheint es auch noch ein Problem zu sein, dass der Film nicht weiß, welchem Genre er angehören soll. Wurde als Spionage-Thriller promotet, bei den Globes als Comedy nominiert und im Film wird Romantik angedeutet. Es ist einfach nichts Halbes und nichts Ganzes.

I enjoy this movie. I bought one for me and one for my mom. It's set in Venice which is a lovely backdrop for this movie. It has some action, comedy, and romance. Perfect for those nights when you can't decide what to watch.

Enjoyed this for what it was and for the setting. Kind of a bigger-than-life, hard-to-take seriously spy/intrigue plot set primarily in Venice. Played perfectly by Angelina and Johnny, it was entertaining and distracting. Can't forget the plot twist at the end and all the Venitian footage which reminds me why I have visited and revisited Venice and never tired of it.

I really like this movie. Johnny Depp is amazing, and in this movie he plays an ordinary guy for a change, and Angelina Jolie is just fabulous. I had to watch it twice just to be sure I had really seen what I thought I had seen. It is playful yet intense, with lots of questions, lots of action and lots of surprises. You're not sure until the end just who - no, I won't give it away, you just have to see it.

Hard to believe a film with such amazing talent could go so poorly. I literally thought of just turning it off 2-3x while watching it and figured I may as well "hold out hope." Bad idea! Do not get this movie - trust me. Sad but true. The most entertaining is just seeing the good acting amidst a poorly executed script and direction.

I found this movie very entertaining and thought Angelina and Johnny were a good match for their roles. I did go to the theater to see this movie when it was released and enjoyed it so much I purchased it. This is a movie I like to watch when there's nothing on TV I want to see. If your not one of those people who needs substance or are a movie critic with ridiculous expectations I think you too will enjoy this movie.

Loved this film, especially the twist at the end. I like most of Depps work as I find him to be professional and full of depth. Nice to see him get away from being (far too frequently) so quirky all of the time. I like most of his films, but he plays so many quirky roles that people don't get to see his more serous side that often. This is one of those that shows his true talent as an actor

Both me and the wife are Depp fans, and to a lesser extent, Jolie as well. I'm glad I didn't read any reviews of the movie, as it was a typical 'not what you think it is' story... big surprise ending and enough intrique to keep you interested and watching right to the end.... we'll watch it again, definitely a 'keeper'... Good acting, great action, good storyline, decent dialogue, fast enough paced to not get boring.

I have been reading all the reviews and don't get the hate. The movie was not that bad, actually it was pretty entertaining. Could have been a better script and better acting. However, I felt that Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie both had good presence and kept me interested in them and the movie.

A nice addition to my Johnny Depp dvd collection. This is different from his recent movies and allows one to see Johnny Depp as well as his character. He and Anjelina Jolie play well off each other and though there is a lot of action, it is not overdone and does not take away from the story. Lovely setting, Venice and a well made film. The rest of the cast are also very good in their portrayals.

This is an excellent action/adventure movie and I was very happy to see two of
my favorite actors on the same movie. Johnny Depp delivers a great job of a confused
and out of place tourist. Angelina Jolie as an unknown agent is wonderful.
As usual I found that the DVD version was more than I had hoped for.

I love this movie. It has great twists in the plot, some are a bit extreme, but oh well; it's escapist entertainment. And it makes me want to go back to Venice. Just reviewing this makes me think I need to go watch this movie again.
