Habe mir das Teil gekauft, weil ich beim anderen Auto beide Batterien so gekoppelt habe und die sich mit der Zeit gegenseitig kaputt gemacht haben. Hinterher ist man immer schlauer... :-)
Aber das wird jetzt mit dem Trennrelais sicherlich nicht mehr passieren.
Auch das anschließen ist super easy, wenn man weiß wo man sein Zündungsplus abgreifen muss, damit es schaltet.
Alles in allem ein kleiner netter Helfer der die Batterien länger leben lässt und man nach einer gewissen Zeit Anlage an nicht mehr irgendwo steht und der Anlasser keinen Mucks mehr sagt. :-)

habe mir den stinger eingebaut weil ich für das car hifi eine zweite batterie brauche (die von honda civic erscheint mir zu klein) und es funktioniert sehr gut.....

Das Relais macht einen relativ robusten Eindruck. Wird jedoch bei Dauer Belastung sehr warm. Dies kann zu Problemen in kleinen geschlossen Räumen führen.

There's precious little specification-wise on this contactor. The contactor is rated for 80A continuous. However, there's no information about power factor requirements - if any - for the loads. It's really just a heavy duty SPST relay, not a true battery isolator. It doesn't monitor battery voltage and cut off the loads before the battery falls below a level that would compromise it. That brings us to another piece of missing information - the steady state current draw on the coil. That number I can measure on my bench power supply. When the contactor is at room temperature and is activated with a typical automotive voltage of 13.5v dc, it draws nearly 500 mA - about 6-1/2 watts. That seems high so I decided to see if just the coil current alone would heat up the relay. It did. By 100 degrees Fahrenheit !! In the second photo the relay body is running a cozy 168 degrees F (75.6 degrees C). Remember, there is no current flowing on the main contacts which would add even more heat.
This device was rated pretty well here on Amazon and should work fine for intermittent duty like switching a small starter motor. As a continuous duty load disconnect relay, not so much. It's going back to Amazon. Three stars for the utter lack of specifications.

Firstly, I'm using this relay as a way to increase how much power I can draw from an ignition sense circuit in my car.
This is not likely a big enough isolator to use for a dual battery system depending on how you set it up. If your aux/2nd battery only powers extra devices, and the crank battery still powers all the stock stuff in your car, this should be fine. If you have a system where the isolator interrupts the crank battery and has the 2nd one power everything while the car is off, this is not the one for you.
As a few people have noted, this relay seems to get particularly hot just by having it engaged, which has me wondering if the coils are too low of a resistance, and if maybe I could add a resistor to it to reduce that power consumption, at the cost of a higher minimum voltage to engage. Something to think about.
In addition to that, the terminals for the coil (the ones you power to engage the relay) are relatively difficult to tighten/loosen, thanks to them being tucked so close to the body of the relay, and the little divider between them (presumably there to prevent a short circuit, but you should have a fuse to prevent any damage from that anyways).
Overall, it's an okay relay. It does its job, but with a little more thought during design it could have been much better. Personally I would have only spent ~$12 had I known this beforehand.

Works exactly as represented and was an excellent value for the price! I installed this device to allow me to parallel the house and chassis batteries in my motorhome. I also added a diode-isolated "manual override" switch which allows me to operate the Isolator in an emergency to jump start my generator from the chassis battery or jump start my engine from my house battery if one battery dies. Also, I have a third diode-isolated trigger from my ignition which allows me to charge my house battery from the alternator when the motorhome's engine is running. Product was delivered on time and was very well packed. Buy this one with confidence!

Bought this for an accessory fuse block on my side by side. I am familiar with stinger and they haven’t disappointed me until now. The relay works fine until the temperature gets down to 10-15 degrees, at that point it won’t move. Does no good if you can’t depend on it working

Used as intended to isolate trailer's auxiliary battery from main van battery. Used E-KYLIN fuse tap to access key-switched auxiliary power to activate isolator's coil. Isolator seems to be of high quality and it has worked without issue from the start. It would be nice if they provided some sort of snap-on power terminal insulator though. Depending on where it's mounted, the top-mounted terminals could make accidental contact a problem.

used for my avalanches dual battery setup with some welding wire two sets of five feet red and black are great to run the battery and an inverter from the second to the rear passenger seat for an inverter or maybe another battery.(did have to splice and solder two sections together to reach the back though so i suppose one set would be good if you just wanted to run the battery.

Using this to control the power to my two Viair 444 compressors for my air system on my truck. Love this product. Swear by this. Last one lasted me 6 years on the truck. Worked thru 2 different sets of compressors. Passed the word to several friends and they all use this solenoid for their air systems as well. Get away from them stupid relays and use this. You won’t regret it

Use to power my Blue Sea fuse panel in my car. Does get warm but don't be alarmed, there is 80 amps of current flowing through it so don't freak out when it get warm. I used 4 AWG copper wire as my leads. If possible give it some room to breathe.

Had a different one before I use to run a second battery the other one broke in less than a month this one from stinger is much better made and has been extrely reliable don't do like I did and buy a cheap one 1st just get this one the couple of bucks you may save isn't worth the problems.

I used this to switch on power to my UTV accessories from my second battery but it won't switch when it's cold (< 20F) until it warms up. I can cup my hands over it and blow on it and it will activate. Not good in Maine when you can't lift your plow.

This is my 2nd relay, First one no issue 2nd one after running it with no load just the contact energized it reach 150 deg F.
When on my van after 15-20 minutes with only an USB drawing power I couldn't touch it!
Again poor quality control.
Too bad I lost my window to return it. Will try to call them to see if they guaranty their device.

This was difficult to install, not because of the design of the unit, but because it was difficult to find the correct wiring in my vehicle to hook it to. I wish they made this slightly more compact, not so tall or able to mount it at a different angle, as it was also difficult to find a place where it would fit. As with most stuff on my car it took me many hours to do what should have been a simple job. But the unit itself is ok.

Very impressed with the quality of this product. I watched many youtube videos about installing these and so I ordered one for my HIsun 700 UTV. I mated a full size deep cycle AGM battery to the original factory with this isolator and it worked very well! This is by far one of the best and cheapest mods possible!

Used this to add a second battery to my Toyota van. Has worked well so far. Forgot and left the key on over night once since i installed it, just flipped the switch to connect the second battery through the solenoid and it started right up....

I have only had this product since December 2018. It is usually frozen up more often than working. I have it mounted safely under my hood and it never works unless you apply some sort of heat to it. It is unreliable and I would never recommend you buy it. Purchase an American made product that actually works. Amazon or the company refuses to stand behind the product.

I installed a dual battery in my Honda SxS and the stinger worked great until the outside temperature dropped to 18*F. two of the mornings when I went to operate the stinger it would not function. After driving down the bumpy trail for a few miles it freed-up and began to function again.
I will search for a higher quality part that can operate in colder temperatures.

Keeps the "house" batteries in my campervan charged while driving, so my solar can start with a full charge when I set up camp. Also provides for a backup to my vehicle battery for starting the engine if needed.

Great relay for those wishing to make a keyless or push button ignition. Super easy to make my truck a flip switch on with push button start. They have held up very well, with zero issues . Would definitely buy again if needed.
