Mon premier achat "reconditionné". Etat extérieur , de légers coups, pour le reste absolument comme neuf. son HYPER directif, faut vraiment bien les placer et configurer son installation. Une fois tout cela mis en place. A vous les joie de l'Atmos et autres spatialisations. Parfait pour mon utilisation.

It does not work in Australia unless you use a step down transformer / adapter. The Qand A was confusing as the unit is the US model.

I bought these last week on Amazon for $118 (including shipping). How good could a pair of speakers be in that price range? Well let me tell you. The word amazing comes to mind. I've been an "audiophile" for going on 40 years. My methodology for buying speakers has always been to listen to the best speakers available, ones that I couldn't possibly afford, then work my way down into speakers that are within my budget, but sound as close as possible to my "dream" speakers. Simply put, these speakers are solid, well-made, and have an incredibly warm and accurate sound. They can easily compete with speakers up to the $500 price range, well compete is not the word…blow the doors off speakers in that price range is more like it. I would even be so bold to say, that in a blind study (if you had no idea what speakers you were listening to in a side-by-side comparison), you may find yourself choosing them over speakers in the $1000 range. That's right! I said it! It had to be said! I don't know what Sony did to these little buggers, but they are magnificent. Now one week later, the price has increased to $148, and not just on Amazon…everywhere. Not sure what made them jump $30 over night, but are they still worth it? After hearing them, I'd pay double. Oh, and by the way, I am using them as main speakers in a two-channel scenario, not as surrounds. Utterly impressed, and they are not even "broken in" yet. If you are in the market for excellent bookshelf-sized speakers, look no more. Don't let the low price fool you…you've found them. Cheers guys!

Now, I am not an techie or an audiophile, but I do like and can certainly tell the difference between good and bad audio components, especially speakers. I have a couple of very expensive home theater setups both using power conditioners and Sony ES components with ridiculous costing interconnects and speaker wiring out to Polk LSi speakers and Polk subs.
My desktop setup is very modest, using a Fosi Audio DAC, a V2 50x50 amp and a P1 tube pre-amp with upgraded tubes. All are connected with custom made star quad RCA cables and 12ga twisted pair speaker wiring. I am using my laptop to stream Hi-Res audio via USB using the Equalizer APO/PEACE software. An inexpensive but very clean sounding and solid setup altogether.
I have been using my LSi7 $800/pair bookshelf speakers and a BIC F12 sub for a while. Overkill for a desktop setup?Yeah maybe...
Anyway, I saw these Sony 3 ways on sale for $73/pair. They have very good reviews. I decided to give them a try because I wanted to get my LSi7's back to their surround positions. I was expecting a downgrade in sound so I was not that excited. It is a desktop setup anyway for listening at lower volume levels, so I did not want to spend a lot. Well, let me tell you something. These little Sony SSCS5 speakers sound better than my Polk LSi7's!!!!! More detailed with a better soundstage and better separation. HOW CAN THIS BE?? For $73.00 for a pair?????? Come on. I can't get over how good these sound. I am listening to the Rippingtons- Built to Last album. Wow, I am flabbergasted and amazed. I guess I will be doing my critical listening at my desktop now?? I will need to see a therapist.

I've been a Sony buff pretty much all my life, but just recently a couple of items I purchased from Sony left me quite disappointed. One was my 4K Blu-ray player, which is just out of wack and the other one was this subwoofer. After reading the reviews and every expert's recommendation on the net, I decided to buy this one over the Polk PSW-10. Well, let me just tell you, that was a big mistake! First, and for sure the most annoying feature of this Sony sub is that when I used "Auto" switch, it kept switching off every 10 minutes or so, especially when watching TV shows or movies. I read my receiver's instructions and they mentioned that if it was on a signal would always be sent to the sub. I guess the sub didn't detect any low frequencies during the movie dialogs, etc. so it just kept shutting off. However, after playing a loud sound, the sub would all of a sudden wake up again! And I could hear the on and off clicks all the time--super, super, annoying! Next, the enclosure is way too narrow to play nice, tight bass frequencies, especially music. It just sounds too thumpy, like a cheap speaker. I cranked up the volume really high to see how this sub would sound at high volumes but the sound was muddy and lacked clarity, tightness--unlike the Polk PWS-10, for example. The controls on the back are just okay. It has a crossover with a nice range from 45-200 Hz, which in theory it'd be perfect but at 200 Hz it just becomes a large speaker--you hear pretty much all the sound but very muffled. The volume control was almost useless too. Even if you cranked it all the way up you couldn't tell the difference. It depends too much on the AV receiver's volume. Again, I was very disappointing to hear the poor quality sound that came out of a Sony product. If you're looking for a good quality sub in this price range go with Polk PSW-10 (or some other brand). Believe me, your hears (and your wallet) will thank you for it! Just stay away from this one!
