I am an android phone user for over 2 years with the X8. I bought the X10 for my wife last year and she is very satisfied with it. I had her download OSMAND navigation app in the market and she uses it on OFFLINE mode, no data charges whatsoever. The only drawback is the small screen, but for its low price, it is what one gets.

I almost make a entire review for this phone but you know what it isnt worth it. I got it like 6 months ago and I have tried to get rid of it since the very first month without success, wanna know why?... because there is noting good about this phone, and im not as bad friend to lie to someone telling them that this is a good phone. I want to clarify, if you have never had a smartphone or you know nothing about technology you wont really mind, but if you do be carefull on buying this. Everithing I try to do or use or set up in this phone doesnt work, not even the mainframe is smoot when you have applications running, it keeps getting jammed. it suckes, and I hate it. Without only one exception, I can say this is the worst waste of money of my live (I Had a problem with an HP computer, that one is the worst)... If you have the money and you are thinking on buying this phone, we are 2011 so please do yourself a favor and stay away from this phone (I dont want to be rude but I would like to see something like this 6 months ago)

I am actually shopping for a replacement for this phone, it's just too annoying. It is a nice looking phone, small enough to be practical and is capable of running lots of interesting apps and whatnot, but it has a few fatal flaws that spoil it:I only use my phone casually, a few texts and maybe a short call a day are all I really ask of it. Despite this, the battery only lasts me one day between charges. I have turned off all the bluetooth and wifi widgets and whatnot, but the in-built battery manager tells me that the main power drain is "idle". This phone was new, so it can't be the battery's fault. Very poor for a modern phone.Secondly, to save the battery, the phone locks itself far too often and is a hassle to unlock, requiring a button press and a scroll of the touchscreen which is sometimes a little twitchy. This is true when writing texts as the delete button is next to a tiny space button (and I know I hit the right one, the phone tries to predict what letter you want to hit rather than just going off where your finger actually touches the screen). Also, the phonebook is atrocious for doing simple tasks like viewing someones number, but great if I want to send them a message on facebook - Arrrgh!Finally and most importantly, THE PHONE CALLS PEOPLE WHILE IT'S IN MY POCKET. This has happened on more than one occasion and is totally unacceptable. The screen lock feature clearly doesn't work. This wastes credit and annoys me and my friends. Utterly contemptible in a so called "smart" phone. I will not be buying a Sony Ericsson phone again.

Since this is my first Android phone i cant compare it to the big ones but i found that the screen could be a little bigger.The phone is heavy for its size it is the weight of a rock of the same size!!You cant install too much apps from android market due to its internal memory limitation and the fact it uses and old Android and you cant upgrade it. There is a way to install the apps on a SD card but i havent tried it yet.The good news are that the phone can do a lot of things like skype, ebuddy for msn for a great price.This version comes with a keyboard which is very usefull to type faster, you can type really fast using it!!The battery lasts for a day only so i buyed 2 more batteries for it which i use when im travelling.

Es una estafa de primera categoria.. estos son unos ladrones no compren estas porquerias de SONY...A las 3 semanas de haber comprado el equipo me llega un mensaje a mi e-mail (desbloquee su equipo)...???.---Hasta ahi todo bien, cual es mi sorpresa que ahora que me llega el cell (tarde) tengo que pagar para desbloquearlo.. q tipo de estafa es esta? El cell dice claramente UNLOCKED e INTERNATIONAL VERSION... Es decir q no tengo para que diablos desbloquearlo.. pero ahora SONY me quiere cobrar $55 extras para poder usar mi equipo, es un robo maldita sea...Adem?s el equipo esta defectuoso, le pongo una sim y el equipo no prende.. es decir que esta ocasionando corto???..-... He intentado con una SIM CLARO... ma?ana usara una SIM MOVISTAR, pero si el problema persiste significa que el equipo est? da?ado, tanto esperar para esto.. encima que me quieran cobrar m?s,... q sinverguenzeria es esta??. Espero lean la rese?a para que nadie compre m?s a SONY un equipo (Si hubieran dicho en el anuncio que habia que pagar para desbloquear no lo compro... como les digo a las 3 semanas me llega la sorpresita y el equipo luego de 1 mes)

The biggest issue with the Xperia Pro Mini (u20i) this is the lack of voice recognition in the base software, so you're going to have to root it if you want to do things like run Google Nav via speech. I can speak right into my cheap LG Optimus V and get directions while I'm on the road, but Sony Ericsson didn't put the voice stuff in the u20i... and the only way to change that is to root. Also, things like pinch zoom also don't work by design unless you root & change the software.Now, I don't mind rooting, but you always risk bricking your device if you do the wrong thing. If I'm spending $200 on a phone, I don't want to transform it into a paperweight for something that should be in the software already. Very annoying to have to waste time on things like this.On the plus side, it worked perfectly in Asia with the Telestial international SIM card, and it's working just fine with T-Mo's Pay-go service (including the data plan) here in the US. So if you want a quad-band GSM phone that you can travel with & also use at home by swapping out your SIM card, then this will do it.

I have had two Android phones in the last year, the Nextus One and TMobile G2. Both of the phones are outstanding. Went to the G2 because I wanted 4G and a keyboard.I bought this phone as a weekend phone, it's very small and compact --- has Outlook email (via RoadSync which is loaded), gmail, google apps and everything my G2 has --- including a keyboard, except less internal memory. The sound clarity is outstanding and the screen is very sharp. Not sure about the battery life as I don't use it on a daily basis. While it is not as powerful in processing power as the Nexus One and G2, it's more than decent, runs fast and better than most Android phones. It only has 3G data but that is fine as I use the Web and data less on the weekends. Keyboard is small so it takes a little longer to type but not really vs. no keyboard.I do have a colleague who uses this phone daily and she uses a lot of cell minutes. It works great for her on Simple Mobile (really T-Mobile backbone).However, it's a great unlocked phone for a great price.

for no reason my cellphone stopped working after 2 months of use, since the beginning it has been really annoying, I regret buying this little piece of garbage, it's too small, too slow, the charger sucks and now it doesn't even works.

I recently bought this phone for my girlfriend, and it is pretty nice, it works fine and has a lot of features.It came only with pink case, but that is not a big deal.The battery life is only one day or less, but it charges very fast!It came with 2GB memory card, charger, USB cable, and headphones.Now there is a problem with our operator! Our 3G works at 850Mhz! and this phone supports only 900Mhz and 1200Hz, so basically we are using this phone as 2G. That's a very important thing to mention on the advise.Now I know there is another version that works at 850!! :S

I just can think of enough bad things to say about this phone, i do not know what the people were talking about low battery life, on average i can get a full 2 days usage on one charge. The screen, sure it looks small, but when you compare it to the Iphone it is just a little smaller, and does not have all the bulkiness that an Iphone has. Another thing do not be afraid of the words International Version, many of these phones will come from the middle east and that is why that term. Note, because they come from the middle east their android marketplace is restricted to nothing. Easy fix, many of the phones will come pre-installed with android 1.6 on them, so simply download pc companion on your computer by inserting the provided data cable into the computer, and then you have android 2.1, which also features the android marketplace, and a few other tweaks here and there. I would recommend getting some kind of skin or cover to prevent your phone from scratching, as well as screen protectors.

This phone is the best phone ever. It's small fits right in your palm it's not big and fat like a sidekick or like samsung galaxy and it's only $171 and it an android! Plus you can get cool apps on the android market I would recommend this phone to people who like small smart phones. The only bad thing about this phone is the theme it's a blue color that you can not change other then that it's really awesome, if you like Sony Ericsson cell phones you should buy this phone.

The Good:- Cute, excellent form factor, nice key spacing/size on QWERTY, good weight, nice size for my hands, pleasant "snap" in opening keypad, amazing touch-screen, decent camera, easy set-up with email/FB/Google apps. Loving Android!The Bad:- Total battery vampire, voracious with all its connectivity options turned on. The first day I had it on, after charging all night, the battery was dead in less than 10 hours. Thought about doing a return, but then did some reading on the forums about tweaking settings to optimize battery life. After updating settings, I'm getting through a day with ~70% battery, which is fine.- I purposely ordered through Amazon.com (and not one of the Amazon Merchants) to avoid vendor drama. Phone came with note stating that the package had been opened to assure that the proper chargers/manuals had been included for USA, but no USA charge adapter was in the box. That and a few other observations makes me suspect I didn't quite get a "brand-new" item. This wasn't a deal killer for me as the phone was in excellent condition and I had a spare adapter from another gizmo, but it left me a bit unsettled.Phone: 4 starsVendor/Buying process: 3 stars

best mini smartphone in deep.came with 2gb, android 2.1, charger adapter, usb, manual, handsfree.PROS:-Size: "MINI" really meant it-slider qwerty keyboard takes advantage over xperia mini. xperia mini pros virtual keyboard is a non qwerty one, so you wont be using it for more than three words.-android market: access to more than 800k applications. IMs, mails, music players, games, and more.-5mp camera-flash: take good quality photos for its little size.-loudspeaker: really good! you won't need a stereo anymore... lol.-capacitive touchscreen: bye stylus!!!! quickly response to touch.-PRICE: cheap for a smartphone like this. you have all you need on it.-Networks: wifi, gsm, 3g, bluetooth, you can transfer files, sent mms, sms, internet.CONS:-would be great to have android >2.1 but you can't caus sony ericsson didnt update that version from this smartphone.-battery life too short. you'll need a spare and go with your charger everywhere.and that's it. it couldn't be better. i love this phone.

I bought this phone based on my past good experience with Sony Ericsson phones. The fact that it was small and light made it attractive despite the cost.After a 30-day trial I can say that the software is flawed and it was a complete waste of money. The problems I encountered are as follows:- The phone has no ear-distance detector during a call. So if you need to access the keypad and bring the phone away from your ear, the screen stays black. Pressing the home or return keys bring the LCD back for a little while but then the screen goes dark again randomly in the middle of your entry! So annoying!- The battery is horrible. Being a new phone, I had to recharge at least once or twice a day or it would run dead.- The charger connector on the phone is protected by a little piece of plastic that requires you to push your nail on the edge and pull. I totally see this mechanism not lasting more than 3 months of use.- The texting software is a disgrace. Text predicting does not work to catch apostrophes and there is no way to ignore the suggestions and keep your input entry! The suggestion takes over upon you hitting the space key. Of course the multi-taping option is available but to me it is too time consuming and a thing of the past. The spanish version predicts words with accents which yield an error upon submission (accents are not understood by the carrier!)All said, the one positive I did find is the sound. After all it is a Sony! But sound reproduction does not make a good phone. At $300 this is an expensive option, when we have way superior phones like the iPhone and Droid selling for the same price(w/contract).My advice: DO NOT BUY!

I've got an X10 and a GF wanted the mini. She was actually a little disappointed that the mini was super mini but functionally it works great. Other than that I haven't heard any complaints. It does have a decent battery life and everything else seems to be good with it also. No faults in the screen or functionality of other parts of the phone. After a "get to know it" period she had no complaints and started to really enjoy using the phone.

I bought this phone for a colleague of mine who asked for a pocket and fashion mobile (I am a satisfied owner of Motorola Droid); leaving aside the initial difficulties in setting the phone I received (the factory setup was for the Chinese market!) and, in particular, the difficulty to change the electronic keyboard and the connected Chinese vocabulary (initially, I downloaded a free android keyboard from the market - along with the Italian dictionary - then I realised the possibility to use the Italian sony-ericsson electronic keyboard by long pressing the text space....)it is a nice mobile, with a good balance quality/price, and I strongly recommend it.

Ok, let's say it's not an Iphone, it's not Samsung's Galaxy either, but this little tiny toy can do almost everything. I bought this item as a gift for my girlfriend and have handle it for a couple of days and I'm definitely very very impressed. I'm sure Android is the future for mobile phones OS. Never had a cheaper phone as good as this. Just add a 16 GB Micro SD Memory Card and you'll be done. Tons of aplications to install from Android Market, GPS, 5 megapixels camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, smooth touch screen flow and many many other features. Battery life is probably it's only bad one but if charging every day is not a problem you'll do well. I'm sure I will buy another soon. Try it!!!

me extra?a que sony ericsson, que es mi marca favorita de celular haya fabricado un telefono como este , no era lo que yo esperaba, la bateria del celular esta integrada en el mismo telefono o sea que es una sola pieza si la bateria se da?a tiene que descartar el telefono pues no se le puede remover la misma como a los demas celulares, no lo recomiendo.lo compre y lo devolvi y el sonido es muy pobre. NO LO COMPREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this phone to replace a blackberry with medical software and an MP3 player. I wanted something that would fit into a woman's pants pocket with ease, and this certainly does. I don't go online much to check email or browse the internet, so screen size wasn't so important to me. It runs Android well and Epocrates beta for Android works as well, if not better than epocrates for blackberry, which I used to use. It has a headphone jack and a fairly exceptional built in speaker (considering the small size of this device). The audio quality for MP3 playing is excellent. The camera is fine, but doesn't replace a point and shoot for special occasions. Texting with the built in keyboard is fairly easy, but I am not a big texter, so I can't comment much on that.I am pretty rough on my devices and have dropped this on the floor many times, and also recently submerged it in water for about 5 seconds (toilet bowl mishap). It has never malfunctioned despite my abuses, and actually looks really good after many months of use.Usability as a phone is fine, although the screen turns off after a few seconds to save battery, so I have to "wake up" the phone again to end a call.Battery life is fine for my uses- needs charging every 3 days or so. Probably would need to charge once/day with heavy use.

I love this little phone, it feels good in my hands and I like the size of this thing. I like the interface, its easy to use and the phone is fast and responsive, I really like the slide-out keyboard, I don't have any problems while texting, was concerned it would be too small but it works great. The keyboard also lights up when dark so that was a nice feature because I wouldn't like using the screen for texting. Have used the phone for a few months now and I have not had a single issue with it, would recommend.

If you use the phone for lot of emails and messagesgo get a fat phone from your provder or some other expensive bulky gadget.But if you are an occational smart feature user and like the small form factor buy this one.Buy this one knowing that it is small in size, has a small battery and little slower than other expensive phones .After buying don't complain about usability or size or life of battery.If you do not use lot of smart features like email, messaging and browing etc,use the readily available power widget to turn of wifi, data,location and blutooth servicesto save battery life.Since it has smaller capacity battery it discharges fast. Also it charges very fast.I haven't experienced any freezes so far. Touch screen is responsive. All else is fine
