It's cheap, I got it for 13 dollars and it works
If you want something that feels well made for a desk top, this isn't it.
If you want something that weighs next to nothing to carry around in a bag this will do.
On the back it says "BATTERY, SOLAR CELL" so I suppose it contains both. No problem using it at night.
No backlight, at least not that I know of.
And if you haven't thought about it, I got this color because it's cheaper than the other exact model and I can find easily on a desk full of black electronics.

This is an awesome calculator. Its perfect for my kids and their school work. Shipping was super fast and it came with a cute bag to keep the calculator in. It came with instructions on how to work everything as well. Very happy with this item.

...which is conversion from decimal to binary is kind of a pain in the butt. I have to switch back to decimal from binary after every conversion, which means two calculations for every one that I actually want the answer for. Ugh...annoying,

I have a 9th grader kid that was in need of a scientific calculator, I showed few other calculators along with this one and after seeing the rest decided this one was the best one with the buttons that were needed for the classes being taken in High School and that would would work good enough for coming years at school too.

I like this calculator. That being said, it’s not user friendly and the supplied booklet doesn’t really disclose all of the features. I had to search for the manual online and found it on Sharps website. It has a ton of features.

The keys are very hard to read when they are not brightly “painted”. Bright paint was available but it was not used on all the keys. It is readable outdoors but difficult in dim light. No user manual was included but out there on the internet.

Great calculator , the only issue I had with this was learning to operate it the day of a major chemistry exam. Needless to say it was not doable and I had to purchase another calculator. I takes time to learn how to navigate this type of calculator.

It is great for students who are limited by exam rules that don't allow calculators like ti84 and etc. It's a little handy one with many helpful functions like frictional-to-rational-number-exchange, which I felt really helpful in doing physics problems. And it equipped with a solar panel that helps you run in a low battery situation. The cover panel has a very cool carbon-fiber-like design. I actually use it more than my TI84 lol. Highly suggested.

This is a great scientific calculator. The nicest thing is that is shows the equation you just entered to confirm you calculation. It is basic plastic. But for 13 dollars, I was not expecting a hard plastic HP.

Out the box you need to change some setting to get 1.000456 type answers since some other setting is the default. This is a good pair to my other older sharp calculator since having two is a good idea. I really liked it and the solar panel is pretty nice to have.

between 1990 and start 2000, I like Japan design and I don't understand the Sharp Corp. why they are so slow in 21 century. This piece of plastic on the bottom side is so huge, was it really impossible to make the aluminum back of the lid and halve the size thickness? sinceraly to Sharp Corp.

I liked the calculator but the paint on the small keys is so dull that you must find a place with just the right lighting to use it. If you move it into a good light, then you get a reflection from the black shiny background.
The keys look great on the sales page but not on the shipped unit. Big disappointment. After 2 weeks time, I will get something else.

This is the most intuitive calculator I have ever seen. As an engineering student, I have never used a better calculator than this one. It has all the functions I need right there for you, and it took no time at all to learn how to use. 10/10 would recommend.

I use it for my statistics class. I love how easy it is to lay the numbers out and get your final result without having to go through unnecessary steps. The ruber case looks cheap though. But for the price I wouldn't complain.
