I use the Seagate ES as my main data-drive.-Very fast drive-Quite operation-Just plug it in with a SATA cable, parition/format and forget it

As described, these were great bang for the buck .These are great for SANs with 4 or more drive as they wistand the vibrations over long periods.

purchased other drives for my RAID and this model seems best suited for 24/7 operation. other drives started to have ATA errors after months of running.

I bought 2 of these and installed them in a Dell T310 server in RAID 1. I had one minor issue a couple of days after the install, but I can't say if it was the fault of the drives or not. Besides that they've been running for about a month without any problems. I won't really know if these were worth the extra expense for a few years. They were certainly cheaper than Dell's options for 2TB drives.

Works great in my Netgear ReadyNAS Pro 2. Although the drive is labeled as OEM, it shipped in Amazon packaging that was probably better than retail, with the black plastic spacer things. I've bought dozens of OEM hard drives from other vendors, notoriously that egg place, and usually OEM's are just thrown in some bubble wrap. I am converted and will now only buy my OEM drives from Amazon from now on.

Hard drive is in a Linux server tasked with video security archiving. It is quiet and trouble free with a long mtbf rating
