I have two of these running in a NAS. They have been in service for a month and have zero S.M.A.R.T. issues so far. We'll see how they hold up over time but so far they are fast, relatively cool, and are humming along just fine.

Added 5 of these to my new Synology DS1511+ and am very impressed with the write speed (100 mb/sec +). Previously purchased two of these for a workstation running VMWare ESXi and getting very nice performance. Will be buying 4 more of these to replace the 1TB drives in a Dell PowerEdge server. Oh, did I mention how satisfied I am with these drives? Yes, it costs more, and it's worth every cent.

What's the difference between this product and the one on this page:http://www.amazon.com/Constellation-2-0TB-Sata-3GB-S/dp/B003AQLQ2C/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1294691324&sr=1-2Both are sold and shipped by Amazon and contain the same manufacturer part number, but they have different prices, quantities available, one page is lame and ugly, the other really detailed, different ASIN numbers, et cetera. I've tried to write Amazon and find out why this is so and Amazon doesn't seem to be able to answer the question - they keep telling me to call Seagate.Argh.

The only problem I've had is with a bad sata cable so only one of my two drives were found by the motherboard. I have one drive running on a new AMD Phenom II x 4 system. It is quick and fast. It is very heavy, perhaps due to the antivibration measures. I'll soon run both drives in RAID, which should give me a little better system performance. I've been using Western Digital drives for quite a while successfully, but was bothered by some reviews of DOAs, so I thought I'd try a Seagate this system. I'm happy with it.

I bought these disks to fill up my new NAS ( a Synology DS 1115+ ). I looked for a higher performance drive as we are going to be putting a lot of data onto these and want to be able to keep up with I/O demands.These drives perform well and don't run as hot as some other drives. The increased spin rate and cache make them a must have!

Constellation class drives are much pricier that their regular counterparts, but in this instance I was building a server, and data protection was paramount. When your data is at stake, its stupid to buy cheap drives for the most important part of the PC --your data! The extra features help to reduce false positives, and the energy savings make the server less expensive to run in the long run. Drives arrived extremely well packed and all 6 drives dropped right in without an issue. Very fast RAID performance. Happy with these drives. If they all live out their warranty, I'll have gotten more than my moneys worth.

Bought two of those to run in my Synology DS1010+ NAS. So far the drives perform very well. The larger buffer (64MB) and the higher rotation speed (7200rpm) are noticeable. The only thing that keeps me on my toe's are that the drives if not idle continuously run at higher temperature than my old drives. Bought them from Amazon in OEM packaging. No complaint here. Excellent protection upon arrival.

This is the speediest, quietest hard drive I have ever owned. I am so pleased. My Hitachi 2 tb didn't even last a year!
