I needed this for an older Mac Mini, the old hd was dead, the Seagate fit exactly as the old hd and had worked perfectly since being installed. I receieved it when I was suppose to and It was well packed so that it would not be damaged in shipping.

I have been using this drive for about 4 months now, and it appears to be operating flawlessly. I used the Apricorn EZ-UP-UNIVERSAL EZ Upgrade Universal Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit to upgrade the original Seagate PATA 80G drive in my old Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop to the 160GB Seagate ST9160821A since I was running low on space on the original drive. The Amazon seller Sulla Tech shipped the drive very fast, and the packing was very good. Recommended.

Should have purchased from a retailer where I could have at least exchanged or returned without the hassle. Slow and Noisy seagate HDD.

Needed a new hard drive for my mom's laptop as the old one was going out. This is the exact same model as the one that was originally in it, and it works just fine with Windows 7 running on it.

product was new and was sent via expediete shiipping as requested. My only concern is that considering pc makers do not use these hdd anymore it is a little expensive. you can get a 500gb sata hdd for the same price but since my laptop is almost 5 yrs old I was forced to get this type. My pc is still good enough to spend a 100$ on it but was only hoping to spend 75.

I have been using this drive for almost a year now, and it has performed very well. It is speedy, quiet, and worked straight out of the box. Migrating from my old hard drive was also a breeze thanks to Seagate's DiscWizard tool.The only niggle that I have is the drive's power-saving feature which I find too aggressive. It spins down after 2-3 minutes of inactivity. As a result, when you are typing a document for example, and need to access a file on the drive, you will find a temporary lag as the drive spins up again to allow you to do so. This power saving feature appears to be an in-built function of the drive, and works independently of the power settings in Windows.If you are considering to purchase this drive, try to get hold of the ST9160821A-RK model (shown here) and not the ST9160821A. The difference is in the last two characters; the former is sold as a Retail Kit and comes in a well packed and sealed Seagate box, whilst the latter was meant for OEM distribution and is often sold with just bubble wrap packing. Those who bought the OEM ones often had various reliability issues, because the drive itself was damaged during shipping.

Cloned old disk and put into Dell laptop. It has been working flawlessly and much faster than the original. A great choice for an upgrade.

Just upgrade our laptop. took some effort to format and partition but access is fine and speed ok. better then before. Capacity +150% & speed +25%.
