Хорошая модель
- + надежный тихий , относительно крепкий
- - не очень шустрый
Работал несколько лет в качестве USB накопителя (дополнительно покупал корпус), пережил несколько падений, одно из которых в процессе копирования. В результате чего повредились некоторые секторы - стал страшно тупить и отказывать...

Работает несколько лет в качестве USB накопителя (дополнительно покупал корпус), пережил несколько падений, одно из которых в процессе копирования. В результате чего повредились некоторые секторы - стал страшно тупить и отказывать. Однако мне удалось выделить местонахождение повреждённых секторов - оказались в самом начале, на этом месте я создал отдельный раздел в 5гб (которым естественно не пользуюсь) И теперь диск продолжает работать нормально

I don't know what someone else got, but my Seagate had a "removing this label voids guarantee" right over one of the basic mounting holes. So, I poked a hole through the label and ran the mounting screw into the hole underneath. Yankee ingenuity or something."Bare drive" means no mounting screws, so you need your own.The advertising blurb doesn't mention whether the reason for the low price is that this is a "pull" hard drive, so I assume this is brand new, never been installed. Only Time will tell whether this is so, based on its longevity and freedom from problems. So far, so good.

I never expected to get this at this price You have to know how to partition it, it's not ready to use out of the box, so don't be dissapointed, it will work perfectly but you'll have to google how to set it up.

The drive I got from GoHardDrive is an OEM drive as far as seagate is concerned. Any warranty will be from the seller. The listing says 2 year warranty but from the manufacture I have 1 year. Hmmm. ... $10 more from tiger direct and I'd had a 2 year warranty from the manufacture.

My little ASUS netbook came with the 160GB version installed from the factory. About a year later it started to sound like a coffee grinder. I am very easy on this unit. It has only left my desk a few times, and was never dropped or banged. There were no functional problems yet, but I had to think that was around the corner when the bearing seized or something. So, I can not recommend the Momentus drives.I replaced it with the Western Digital 320 GB equivalent and I am very happy so far. The original 160 was actually plenty for me, but the price differential between 160 and 320 is very small and you can never have too much hard drive space.The biggest problem was getting a new 20 digit code from Microsoft to re-install Windows 7. I wanted to just do a clean install on the new drive. It meant almost an hour on the phone on hold and trying to talk to a guy who sounded far, far, away on a noisy line. I tried to assure him that I was not pirating Windows just upgrading a hard drive. I'm sure I am on a watch list of some sort now. So, no matter what drive you choose, plan time for that too and put your patience hat on.

I bought this to replace the drive in my ASUS 1000H Netbook when the original died an agonizing death when a paper weight dropped onto the computer. This item plugged strait in, no adapter necessary. I reloaded the original OS from a flash drive. A good link to have for that maybe is [...] . Computer works fine. The delivery was a day early, the packaging maybe excessive. A packed box, packed inside a large box with air cushions. Other than that the original died when whacked, I think this hard drive is good.

5 months after purchasing this HD and installing it with no issues, I woke up in the middle of the night to the clicking sounds of massive hardware failure. No clue if it was a bad drive or not, but I wouldn't buy a Seagate again!

I used this to replace my old WD 250GB drive that got the "click of death".So far:Pros:-Fast enough for my needs--maybe a little slower becuase of RPM and cache size but not too much-It took less than an hour to install Vista Home if that gives you an idea of transfer speed-Great packaging--anti-static bag and recyclable plastic "holders" to keep it centered in the box--minimal and sufficient-Quiet. The only time I can hear the noise is when it is deathly silent in my room and the HDD light is on... other than that--nada.Neutral:-Capacity is a little low--149GB after format and 121GB after OS. Its fine for me because I will never need more than 30GB or so.Cons:-No warranty what-so-ever. Makes me a little nervous.Great product for the price. Probably would recommend.

Needed to replace a busted hardrive for an older Acer notebook. Installed easily, recognized easily, and laptop up and running after restore. The price was right and the specs were slightly better than the replaced drive. Not cutting edge HD technology, but just what I was looking for.

The 60 GB Seagate drive in my daughter's MacBook was giving signs of failing. I ordered the Seagate 160 GB drive and it was delivered within three days without special delivery. The installation was straight forward and since I had backed up the contents of the old drive, after a reformat and loading in the Mac OS the rest was easy. The new drive appears to perform flawlessly.

I bought this drive to replace one in a laptop that had failed. It installed flawlessly and has been running well since. Probably not the optimum performance but for the price I think it's great.
