Look, all hard drives are just about the same when comparing apples to apples.In this case I had to replace a hard drive I purchased from a local retailer because it made tons of noise. Come to find out it was bad from the factory with many bad sectors. However I purchased this one knowing Amazon stands behind the products. I am totally happy with this hard drive. Quiet and Fast. Best thing I can say is stick with Amazon and look for the deals even if it does take a few days. I rate this a 10/10!

I was happy, thought I won this one. Turns out within months of each other they have failed and I have lost data. I do not recommend these drives...

I am unhappy with this drive. I have some drives that are almost 6 years old and still running fine. I had all sorts of problems with this drive. I would run a hard drive repair program on the drive in OS X and it would work for a while and later would fail again. I did this dance about a dozen times and now the drive is totally unusable. buyer beware.

I have a decent rig containing an SSD and RAID 1 drives. I wanted a backup volume however. Since it doesn't run that often, it doesn't need to be super fast, however I did want to keep power consumption down. This drive fits the bill quite nicely. It's fast enough to do a quick backup, and it's low power and cool so it doesn't cause any trouble in my machine.

This bare OEM product installed without a hitch on my Full Tower Cooler Master. Noticably faster than my old SATA 3Gb/s 500GB drive that it replaced. Quiet, slick. It's installed in an AZUS mother board with 6Gb/s support for two of these drives, including the SATA 6 cables. The other drive is the 2TB 6Gb/s Seagate Barracuda Green. Together, they realy sing. Well worth the upgrade to SATA 6Gb/s capable mother board. The mother board, 12GB of memory, i7 processor and two Saphire 5770 dual graphics cards make a formidable computer and all of the components were purchased on-line from Amazon.com. The hard drives were: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST2000DL003Seagate Barracuda Green 1.5TB 5900RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive ST1500DL003- Bare Drive

WE PURCHASED THIS HARD DRIVE ON JAN 20 THROUGH AMAZON. IT ARRIVED AND SHORTLY INTO FEB. WE INSTALLED IT. ON MARCH 15 THE HARD DRIVE CRASHED, AND I HAVE LOST MONTHS OF PICTURES. I UNDERSTAND HARD DRIVES CRASH FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT THIS WAS BRAND NEW, NOT EVEN TWO MONTHS OLD. HORRIBLE.

Excelent drive for the value, if you want storage, and a good value. Very silent.Work excelent in my computer, and if you whant performace, you can buy a ssd, and have these drive for storage.Work excelent on windows 7, score of 5.9

No problems. Using this drive (installed in an external enclosure running eSata) to stream movies and store music, photos. Has decent speed for my use.

This drive is attached to an external Voyager usb 2.0 docking station. It writes faster than my firewire 400 back-up drive and it is super quiet. Great drive for the price.

This hard drive is very good, I have it in a system that is designed for a high end HTPC and it seems very quiet so far. The only downside to the drive is the 5900 rpm is the only thing that is bottle necking my system. It gives a windows rating of 5.9 in windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Everything else is great, I dropped it a star for the slight speed decrease compared to 7200 rpm drives, but that is expected.

I did not buy from Amazon, but I bought retail from Fry's. Worked good for 1 year and that's it. Broke down on me after 1 year. I paid $14 to ship back to Seagate for warranty replament. BTW, the warranty replament is a refurbished drive. Again broke down on me yesterday night after just 6 months. Will be spending $14 again to ship for Warranty replacement. Please use these only if you have some kind of mirroring or RAID otherwise you will be taken by surprise. Not worth saving those extra $20 - $30 as you will be sending that money anyway in shipping back to Seagate for Warranty replacement.
