- - Пока на свежий комп Винду накатывал, в SMART успело появиться "Command Timeout 10". После установки драйвера AHCI контроллера, отсчёт прекратился.

- - Взял его, вечером скопировал на него данные(ладно всего лишь фильмы с торента), на утро он отказался определяться, отнес в магазин, поменяли, попроси проверить на месте, достали из упаковки с заводской наклейкой, и он тоже не определился, вернул деньги
До недавнего времени уважал Сегейт, сейчас начал опасаться,

Очень плохая модель

- - Не прошло и двух лет (610 дней), заскрипел, комп от него стал подтормаживать...HDD Observer показывает здоровье всего 46%, скорость низкая. Всегда Seagate брал, все устраивало, но купил грин серию, хотя предупреждали...

I checked around and amazon had the best price for this 1.5TB hard drive. I received the it in 3 day of purchase. The hard drive works great and is very quiet. I purchased it for my surveillance system, and so far it is working as it should. Seagate makes very good hard drives, and I have never had any problems with them, except when one went bad on me. I ran a software from their website, and return it with the results determent it was bad. Their return policy on replacing a bad hard drive is painless, and I received a new hard drive in about three weeks. Awesome!!I recommend this hard drive.

First off, would definitely give this drive zero stars if possible. I have had bad time with seagate cuda's in the past, so much so that I swore them off. Since disk cost is still high due to the flooding and I really needed a bunch of gigs fast/cheap I just got one anyway.Its newer firmware then I have used before so I thought I might have a better time. Nope, had it spinning for like 24 hours straight before it started to beep (lol i am not kidding). Fortunately was home to hear the weird noise it was making... Anyway lost connection to the drive, and when I powered it back up... my partition 'grew' to 12TB, with 18446734TB free space after it (I totally wish).I'm running testdisk on it now, doesn't look good, but its so far the only tool who is not reporting off the wall disk size.I would have to say the fail rate for me with seagate barracudas is higher then 50% in the first month of use. One time I bought two for a raid1, both failed, that's when I swore them off. 50% is an insane figure, and it makes me wonder if I live inside an continuous EMP or maybe I should try mining rare-earth magnets here... Regardless, these cudas fail harder and faster then any other drives I've used. ever.Maybe its a scam where seagate is trying to pull cc#/ssn/emails off drives that are returned for mass marketing schemes... That said I hate returning used drives.

Not as fast as some drives, but the price is right. Plenty fast to serve video and audio. It is the noisiest component in my PC, so I will be getting another boot drive, and using this as a backup so it's not on all the time.

This review is on the 1.5TB drive. Runs cool in my enclosed heat generating media center. Fast transfer times, no studdering of 1080P MPEG-4 AVC HD HD-DTS video. In addition to having a fair amount of storage, my reason for buying this was it's reduced energy use and subsequent lower heat generation in my enclosed system. Kids watched videos for an entire rainy saturday with no issues.

I purchased this drive about 8 months ago. I just installed it a couple of weeks ago. It lasted a little over a week and died. I am going to call Seagate and see about having it replaced. From what I have read it is going to cost me shipping and I get a refurbished one in return. I would not recommend the "green" drives. They don't seem to stand up to a lot of use.

This is the 2nd Seagate Green 5,900 RPM 1.5GB hard drive I have purchased for use as a backup drive in external enclosures. The 1st drive has been running continuously for about 1 and a half years with no problems. This drive has been running for a few months and also has had no problems. Definitely would purchase again.

Drive failed within two weeks. Luckily I had a backup before it finally died completely. It was giving I/O errors, now it won't even spin up.

Using these drives for backup, needed something cheep. Currently in a ZFS RaidZ1, they sometimes come offline. Although I dont blame these drives as they are not intended for server raid usage.

I needed this drive to replace one in a RAID array that had gone bad. Slipped it into place in minutes and had the RAID back to 100%. Was exactly what I needed.

This is a SATA hard drive, not to be confused with the old "ribbon" hard drives. It holds about 1470 billion bytes, or about 1.33 terabytes after formatting, plus OS, plus converting 1KB to 1024 bytes. It's enough space for most desktops. My 750GB Hitachi hard drive was getting the "grind of death" and was quickly replaced with this product. I used Windows 7 tools to clone the Hitachi hard drive, which backed up my Windows 7 operating system with all my files.It's quiet, and runs cooler than a 7200RPM. This is good, because I upgraded from a tiny Geforce 9300 graphics card to a monster Radeon 6850 card without installing any additional cooling. Hard drives in a cooler workstation are more likely to live out their hypothetical 300-year mean time between failure than hard drives in a hotter one. Will it last that long? I'll have to wait and see.

I bought this 5900 rpm bare HD & installed it as an ext HD drive (using eSATA Rosewill case). Seems to run a bit faster than the 7200 rpm Seagate extHD (eSATA) that it replaced. But I was also pleasently surprised to find that it is MUCH quieter and runs a lot cooler.
