Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface 99.40
I purchased the Focusrite mainly because i was having problems with the
Behringer UMC2o2HD and much of the annoyance of that interface was
a hiss which is constantly there no matter what is plugged In or unplugged other
than headphones or speakers.
I had read a mixed bag reviews on the Focusrite scarlet solo I thought I would get
one and compare the two for noise and then whichever one was the best I'd
keep one or the other.

Well it came out the Focusrite solo was the one I'd be returning mostly through
shear frustration that really the manufacturer has not done enough to make
this an easy install.,
Now I will say with all honesty that I may have had a duff unit so I'm not saying
that all the solo Focusrites will be a problem for everyone.
But having said that my particular unit i would be using this as an interface
for guitar and would be running this through not a Daw at the moment as I have
another interface running through a DAW in another studio and no problems with that set up at all.
So i was using an application JamVox 3 or Guitar Rig 5.
I downloaded the drivers and installed both drivers including the USB driver just in case.
I checked that this interface was combatable with My machine which is running Windows 8 64 bit which it stated it was.
So, after install as specified the USB light was lit up telling there was a sound connection, I checked and yes there was guitar and music, but the guitar sounded as though it wasn't connected to my applications jam vox or Guitar rig, the sound was still clean like its coming from a small amp a dry signal rubbish sound.
No matter what I did, deleted all drivers re downloaded drivers with unit not hooked up, then reconnected and as before all lights, the device is displayed in both my devices but sound as it was before.
This had cost me about three to four hours to get this to work but no luck.
My particular unit no I was not giving it anymore time and contacting the company was not going to help in my case, this unit had already wasted enough of my time an absolute pig’s ear to set up.
Maybe it was faulty, anyway unless the manufacturer was willing to give me another one to trial than this review really isn’t up to much in helping anyone to decide do they want to try their luck as there does seem to be a little confrontation with the Behringer UMC2o2HD but what has to be said about Behringer once you installed their driver their unit functioned as it should but have this hiss, but it is something I can take out of any final recording and at least I know the noise is not actually in the signal so it won't be bound to any guitar effect I use, but something I suppose I’ll live with until it really p me off or am unable to remove it.
Practically the Behringer worked out of the box.

Great device by Focusrite, Every other budding instrumentalist or a singer, songwriter could go for it without a doubt. If you want only your sound to be recorded then this is the product you are looking for , Zero noise (professional sound quality) , great build , stylish design .
Even you will get a DAW license with it .
If you are a beginner and have no idea of using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) then it might take time to get started with it , But they will guide you step by step and the tutorials are best for the products like this i have ever seen so , it won't be any problem in setting up.
For your kind concern we get DAW with every Focusrite product so, it isn't specially added by amazon so, you can even directly contact the seller and get the same product in lesser price than amazon .
The product was delivered in 2-3 working days, got no defect and working fine till now.

So, Thumbs up from my side to Focusrite scarlet solo (3rd Gen).

You won’t be disappointed with Gen 3 Solo.. USB C(interface) to USB B (Computer) is lightening fast!!! It’s very stable !!! State of Art interface under 10k !!

Any one having a difficult time to choose. I say just go for it.
It's good for anyone and everyone.
But seriously you don't call scarlet beginners interface. It's easy to use that doesn't mean it beginners product.

First time using an audio interface. It works with Macbook Pro and iPad Pro. The USB DAC in this thing is also pretty awesome and sounds just brilliant when paired with a good pair of active monitors. I am also using this to connect my Electric Guitar to the iPad Pro and use Garage Band for effects. It works really well. I don't record music. So, I haven't tried that to provide an accurate review.

This is wonderful audio interface at this price. The sound quality truly makes it a 3rd generation interface. The air button is exceptionally fabulous. I mean there is a lot of difference when you record your vocal switching the air button on. Only drawback is there is no dedicated volume knob for headphones. But that okay for me. I'm very satisfied with the product.

It's very costly in India. So, if you know someone in USA, ask them to buy it there and bring it with them instead.
Now, about the product. :
Pros:
1.) Build quality is really good. Better than the other options available in this price range.
2.) Easy to move knobs.
3.) Proper indication of everything.
4.) Audio quality is very good.
5.) Bundled software is really good to start working right out of the box.

Cons:
1.) Costly in India.

Totally happy. Initially there were some blue screens of death. But then I realised that the sample rate should be set in multiples of 48 such as 48 96 or 192. When I did that. It worked great.

No separate volume control for headphone output. It is all linked.

Might be a better idea to go for the 2i2 instead.

As you can connect another instrument to channel 1 instead of only a mic. And you get the air function for both channels instead of just the mic channel. Also you get a separate volume control for the headphone output.

I can adjust, it serves my needs perfectly.

I was trying to buy 2i2 but after 3rd gen of solo is out everything except the instrument input is the same as 2i2 with the addition of air mode. So I go for it and the sound quality did not fall under 2i2 either, and most of the time I'm using only one input at a time so this is a great buy and I never regreat on this purchase.

Clean output with no latency....The build quality is top notch and feels premium.. Worth the money plus u get a software bundle with free DAW and other pluggins. Do get the studio grand from Addictive keys it sounds awesome.

Guy wait and buy Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio not SOLO. There is a difference, it has combined XLR and 1/4 inch jack ports also it has volume control nobs independent for headphones and audio monitors at back. Rest technically both match each others performance.

very gud and handy and quality of sound excellent.no comparison with other competitors.

Happy to purchase this, my expectation lastly fulfilled with this product. Must buy if looking for home studio setup. Seller is good, I received order nicely packed and have also registered the product at focusrite website using serial number to verify its genuineness.

Needs big jackpin headphones for monitoring audio or needs 3.5 mm to XLR jack converter
That's a problem

I would not give it full star because the unit has earthing issue and it makes it impossible to record instruments any one whose buying this product should check of they are getting a false unit . I was unable to return it has the return time had been finished . So I had to give to the seller's to get it fixed and it's been a month and I haven't got it back fixed so be careful

The supplied USB is not working I tried contacting Amazon and the seller but there's no way to contact them, phone number also not working I have to buy a new USB I thought of returning the product but I saw there's no stock..so I have to spend another rs 500 for USB..

 Sound quality is good.it is really pro product and value for money.good thickness. I recently bought it and so far so good. Will update more as i get used to it more.ty.

Always been a great experience with amazing but I was little disappointed when I opened the box and found that their was a wipe mark of wet clothes “for that I am giving it 3 star” which for the timing I thought it’s a used product may god knows but it works well.

I recently buy scarlett solo 3rd gen.
Product packing, in built quality , connectivity, etc. Everything is perfect.
Little bit tough to understand their bundle softwares and DAW. It took me 2-3 days to totally understand this.
But I'm all happy with this

This is the goto product for beginners and its awesome for any professionals who are travelling cause its portable too. The aftermarket support is also awesome since it is registered online and every piece is unique.
