I was stuck for ages on whether to choose the solo or the 2i2 model - that was when youtube videos really helped me decide if i needed the 2i2 or not. and the answer for me is 'no' - So the Solo was purchased. The most i will ever record at one time is a vocal and my electro acoustic guitar so the solo is perfect for me. The Solo was simple to set up, the focusrite software installed on my Mac with ease and i was in Garageband using the scarlett within minutes of having the box open. The functionality is everything I need - phantom power for my condensor mic, the 'air' preamp setting is also pretty nice and subtle so i am using it. i did fear it would be really harsh and not useable but i was pleasently suprised. the instrument input is also well deisgned with the selector for guitar or line in for example to boost the signal when needed. the light around the gain knob to signal peaking is also good to use; its not a db display, but for this price it is really useable. I love the ability to have direct monitoring on to reduce issues with latency. Just a great little red box with loads of opportunities!

Fazit am Ende!
Da ich schon seit Jahren singe und diverse Instrumente spiele, wollte ich mir endlich ein kleines Heimstudio einrichten. Beyerdynamic DT 990, Audio Technica AT2020, 48V-Phantomspeisung-Netzteil, eine Cubase-Lizenz bestellt und ab geht's...dachte ich.
Für die Audiowiedergabe selbst war das Mainboard gut genug (MSI B450 Pro Carbon mit ALC1220 Soundchip), die Aufnahmequalität war jedoch absolute Grütze. Für Sprache über Discord hat es zwar gereicht, beim Aufnehmen von Vocals für Lieder konnte man aber fast keinen Unterschied zwischen meinem vorherigen Aukey GD-G1, einem SM58, einem SM7B und meinem AT2020 feststellen, der Sound war wie von einem Schleier bedeckt, einfach schlecht.
Schließlich habe ich mich doch zusammengerissen und mir das Focusrite Scarlett Solo gekauft, das schon von vorneherein viele praktische Vorteile mit sich bringt:
- Mikrofonverstärker mit Phantomspeisung; vorher war es trotz Phantomspeisung und +30dB Verstärkung in Windows ziemlich leise
- zusätzlicher Klinken-Input für meine Gitarre; vorher musste ich immer zwischen Mikro und Instrument mit Adaptern umstecken
- analoge Regler; durch nichts zu ersetzen!
- Kopfhörerausgang mit ausreichend Power für meine DT 990, ein zusätzlicher Verstärker ist total überflüssig
Ausgepackt, angeschlossen, Treiber installiert (extrem einfach und hat auf Anhieb funktioniert). Es ist wirklich ein kompaktes Gerät mit hoher Verarbeitungsqualität, macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck.
Als ich dann Cubase geöffnet und meine Vocals nochmal eingespielt hab, nahm die Begeisterung kein Ende.
Die Qualität der Aufnahmen ist einfach ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht und ich fühlte mich ziemlich dumm, dass ich der Meinung war, dass der Soundchip auf dem Mainboard doch eh schon gut genug ist. Stimmen klingen jetzt sehr natürlich und klar und die Gitarre hat jetzt auch einen Klangkörper bekommen und klingt nicht mehr fad und langweilig.
Auch bei voll aufgedrehten Reglern sind kaum Verzerrungen und Rauschen zu hören, das Interface arbeitet auch bei Volllast sehr sauber.
Das einzige Manko für mich ist, dass das mitgelieferte Kabel mit 1m etwas zu kurz ist, um das Interface da zu positionieren, wo ich es gerne hätte, nämlich auf dem Schreibtisch.
Die Air-Funktion, die mit der 3. Generation des Scarlett eingeführt wurde, boostet die Höhen und Mitten etwas, um einen klareren Klang zu erzielen. Für mich bzw. für mein AT2020 ist diese Funktion aber eher uninteressant und verschlechtert den Klang, da es dann einfach künstlich wirkt.
Vielleicht hilfreich, wenn man ein eher dumpfes Mikrofon hat, wer diese Funktion allerdings nicht benötigt, sollte sich lieber ein paar Taler sparen und sich die 2. Generation des Scarlett kaufen, die technisch ansonsten der 3. Generation ziemlich gleicht.
Fazit:
- gute Optik und Haptik
- gute Audioqualität (sowohl beim Aufnehmen als auch beim Abspielen/Musik hören) mit quasi keiner Latenz
- alle notwendigen Features fürs Heimstudio in einem Gerät
- etwas kurzes Kabel mitgeliefert

I used it immediately to live stream to facebook and it was dead easy.. Plug in the USB cable to the PC let windows detect it and download the software.. then plugged in the guitar and headphones.. (I don't have a XLR capable mic). So plugged in my pedalboard Output lead into the Inst. input socket selected USB and pressed the DIRECT MONITOR button set the levels..Then did a live stream.. sound quality was excellent.. I then switched to my electro acoustic 12 string guitar and did another live stream.. again it sounded brilliant.. There's the option in Facebook Live to select it so the sound of your instrument comes out of your speakers too at same time as the headphone. I dare say it could be used live instead of a guitar amp if used with pedals .. then out to a PA or mixing desk.. Buy it if you're live streaming music.

This is the perfect audio interface to buy as your first one. I bought a pair of sennhesier HD6XX's and obviously I needed something to power them and honestly this interface has not disappointed.
It's able to have 192,000khz on both output and input so don't worry about it's capabilties. If you are on Windows then you will have to download the drivers before use but thankfully the drivers are really good and easy to use.
Plugging in both my mic and my headphones was simple and I recommend this interface fully, especially if you're new like me to this whole game.

Il pacco è arrivato nei tempi e nei modi previsti. Quando ho aperto la scaztole ero un po' preoccupato perchè non vedevo i codici dei software, ma una volta attaccato al computer la periferica (ho Windows 10) ha fatto tutta la configurazione, si è connesso al sito della Focusrite e mi ha chiesto quale programmi installare. Non sono un professionista, è la mia prima scheda audio usb, però posso dire che è davvero un buon prodotto. Ho registrato "live" voce e chitarra con ottimi risultati (microfono SHURE SM58 e chitarra acustica elettrificata), i due ingressi possono lavorare contemporaneamente.
Ho provato anche ad usare la periferica con Ubuntu 19.04 (periferica vista da sola senza alcun intervento da parte mia) registrando con Audacity, quindi anche in ambiente Ubuntu sembra funzionare bene.
Vorrei provarla con Windows 7 sul portatile, vi terrò aggiornati.

Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface 99.40
I purchased the Focusrite mainly because i was having problems with the
Behringer UMC2o2HD and much of the annoyance of that interface was
a hiss which is constantly there no matter what is plugged In or unplugged other
than headphones or speakers.
I had read a mixed bag reviews on the Focusrite scarlet solo I thought I would get
one and compare the two for noise and then whichever one was the best I'd
keep one or the other.
Well it came out the Focusrite solo was the one I'd be returning mostly through
shear frustration that really the manufacturer has not done enough to make
this an easy install.,
Now I will say with all honesty that I may have had a duff unit so I'm not saying
that all the solo Focusrites will be a problem for everyone.
But having said that my particular unit i would be using this as an interface
for guitar and would be running this through not a Daw at the moment as I have
another interface running through a DAW in another studio and no problems with that set up at all.
So i was using an application JamVox 3 or Guitar Rig 5.
I downloaded the drivers and installed both drivers including the USB driver just in case.
I checked that this interface was combatable with My machine which is running Windows 8 64 bit which it stated it was.
So, after install as specified the USB light was lit up telling there was a sound connection, I checked and yes there was guitar and music, but the guitar sounded as though it wasn't connected to my applications jam vox or Guitar rig, the sound was still clean like its coming from a small amp a dry signal rubbish sound.
No matter what I did, deleted all drivers re downloaded drivers with unit not hooked up, then reconnected and as before all lights, the device is displayed in both my devices but sound as it was before.
This had cost me about three to four hours to get this to work but no luck.
My particular unit no I was not giving it anymore time and contacting the company was not going to help in my case, this unit had already wasted enough of my time an absolute pig’s ear to set up.
Maybe it was faulty, anyway unless the manufacturer was willing to give me another one to trial than this review really isn’t up to much in helping anyone to decide do they want to try their luck as there does seem to be a little confrontation with the Behringer UMC2o2HD but what has to be said about Behringer once you installed their driver their unit functioned as it should but have this hiss, but it is something I can take out of any final recording and at least I know the noise is not actually in the signal so it won't be bound to any guitar effect I use, but something I suppose I’ll live with until it really p me off or am unable to remove it.
Practically the Behringer worked out of the box.

They say good things come in small packages, where the Scarlett Solo is concerned, they are not wrong.
Up to now I've been recording by feeding output from my Xenyx mixer into the line in of my computer sound card and decided to risk buying a dedicated interface. I had seen a lot of the focusrite interfaces in use so, though not the cheapest interface by any means, I thought I'd opt for the Solo as I only really need a mic & gtr input.
After putting it through it's paces over the last couple of days, I am very impressed, the noise floor is so much better than I have been used to and even without and adjustment in my DAW (Reaper), the latency was pretty good. Did a quick loop-back test and set the latency to 'reported' plus 16 samples and it is spot on for everything, operating at 48K samples and a 128K buffer.
The direct monitoring is great, the build quality is rock solid and feels sturdy, the controls are smooth and feel "expensive". I now understand why these interfaces are so popular, you truly do get what you pay for.
I wasn't sure at first about leaving it plugged in, having no on/off switch, but having done a quick search it seems many people leave it on permanently with their system and some have done so for quite literally, years. Though given your on-board soundcard are permanently "on", it's only logical that it would not be an issue. One thing to mention, the USB connector on the cable isn't very clearly 'flat' on one side, if the cable doesn't go in smoothly all the way, you have it the wrong way around. That said, it's USB, so the '3 tries' rule applies anyway! ;-)
As regards setup, I'm not sure why people are having the issues described, it is super straight-forward and I was up and running in no time at all. Plug it in, it's seen as a 'drive', click on the URL mentioned in the quick start guide, follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have run the control software and your system is rebooted, it is seen in it's true form as an audio interface. Setup the required input/output in your DAW and job done.
You can set it up as your default audio for your system as well, I did not initially, but I have done now as I like having the headphone volume control.
Looking forward to more recording with this little beauty, very happy indeed.

So I've just setup a budget xlr microphone set up, pairing the Rode Podmic with this interface. It works and sounds great for YouTube videos, Streaming and podcasting. The struggle with podcasting is the fact it only has one xlr in, so if you want another guest in person, you're better going with a 2i2.
The drivers work fine and the build quality is a great premium, I'm not a fan of the red but I can live with it

Probleme mit AMD Ryzen
Das Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen ist klein und handlich und sieht schick aus. Leider sind alle Regler, bis auf den großen Volume-Regler, sehr klein. Wer also oft Einstellung verändern will, für den wird es nervig. Daher habe ich mich für das M-Audio Air 192/4 entschieden, das viel größere Regler hat.
Mein größtest Problem mit dem Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen war aber die Inkompatibilität mit meinem aktuellen AMD Ryzen 5 Prozessor. Als Lösung für die Ton-Verzerrungen und Aussetzer bietet Focusrite einen Beta-Treiber zum Download an, der die Probleme behebt, dafür jedoch neue Probleme mit sich bringt. Schade, dass im April 2020 der aktuellste Beta-Treiber aus November 2019 ist. Da hatte ich mehr erwartet, habe den Artikel zurückgeschickt und bin nun zufrieden mit dem M-Audio Air 192/4.

Ich nutze das Audiointerface mit Native Instruments Maschine MK3 und Ableton Live und natürlich zum Musik hören. Als Abhörmonitore kommen die KRK Rokit 6 zum Einsatz.
Der Klang ist wirklich super - Ich vernehme kein Rauschen, brummen oder andere Störgeräusche. An der Verarbeitung gibt es nichts zu bemängeln - Das Gehäuse ist sehr robust und die Regler fühlen sich sehr gut an. Da klappert und wackelt nichts.
Am Kopfhörerausgang kommt ebenfalls ordentlich Klang und Lautstärke an.
Zum Mikrofoneingang kann ich leider nichts sagen, da ich es momentan nicht nutze. Soweit ich weiß gibt es an der Audioquallität bei aufnahmen von zb Gitarre oder Stimme auch nichts zu bemängeln.
Die Installation der Treiber lief problemlos.
Wer also nicht viel Geld ausgeben will und etwas ordentliches auf dem Tisch stehen haben will, macht mit dem Focusrite Scarlett Solo definitiv nichts falsch.

Funktioniert soweit gut und wie es soll, allerdings hätte ich mehr erwartet was den Ton und die Quallitätfür diesen Preis angeht. Mit diesem Interface und einem 60€ Mikrofon höre ich keinen riesigen Unterschied zum vorherigen USB Mikrofon mit eingebautem Interface für 15€ aus China. Es kann natürlich auch am Mikrofon liegen, aber ich habe immernoch Störgeräusche drin, die ich mit einem Rauschfilter später entfernen muss.

Das Gerät fällt aus, aber Anna vom technsichen Dienst von Amazon hat 5 Sterne verdient.
Das Gerät ist eigentlich toll, meins hat aber nicht gehalten.
Ich hab nach 6 Monaten jetzt gedacht, ich könnte es zurück schicken. Technischer Hilfsdienst von Amazon, Samstag, kurz vor zehn am Abend, Anna hilft mir. Das ist super. Ich kann das Gerät zurückschicken. Die Hilfe kam schnell und effizient. Ich sollte sie nachher bewerten, die Anna. Aber ich hab das Fenster zugemacht und dann war da nichts. Bitt überprüft die technischen Möglichkeiten, den technischen Dienst zu bewerten. Danke Amazon.

schlechte Qualitätsprüfung
3 Foscusrites hatte ich zuhause und alle 3 hatten einen Mangel. Das wars für mich.
Habe mir jetzt noch ein Behringer 204 gekauft mit dem ich auch wieder sehr zufrieden bin.

Super Qualität!
Ich habe das Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen und bin bisher sehr zufrieden. Die Verarbeitung ist perfekt und die Tonqualität ist für 109€ sehr zufriedenstellend. Ich habe bisher nur eine Problem mit dem Treiber des Audiointerfaces. Der Treiber sorgt nach einer unbestimmten Zeit dafür, dass es zu Störgeräuschen kommt. Ich halte davon ab diesen zu installieren.

Ziemlich leicht und klein!
Habe mir das Audiointerface gekauft, weil so gut darueber berichtet worden ist und mir eigentlich die Farbe und das Design gut gefaellen hat. Alle Kabel konnten gut eingesteckt werden und sitzen fest im sockel. Die Knoepfe koennen gut gedreht werden liegen aber sehr eng aneinander. Vorallem die des Volumenknopfes fuer die Outputs und den Kopfhoerer. Es ist minimalistisch und koennte fuer meinen Geschmack groesser sein damit es einfacher zu bedienen ist. Es ist nur das Audiointerface geliefert. Keine Adapter fuer die normalen Klinkekopfhoerer. Also sollte man sich vorher gut informieren, welchen Adapter man noch braucht. Ich wuerde es auch toll finden, wenn es noch mehr Farben geben wuerde.

Super Qualität und auch mit dem iPad Pro kompatibel
Das Audio Interface ist wie erwartet top. Die Bedienung ist denkbar einfach und alle Drehregler und Knöpfe fühlen sich sehr hochwertig an.
Besonders hat mich begeistert, dass ich ohne zusätzliche Spannungsversorgung das Interface über USB-C an mein iPad Pro anstecken kann und es mit der vorinstallierten App "Garage Band" sowie auch mit Drittanbietersoftware funktioniert.

Enttäuschend, kein Stereo Line-in
Ich war erst begeistert, da ich einen guten Eindruck der Klangqualität habe und kein rauschen und ohne externes Netzteil bzw. rein über USB auskomme.
Enttäuschend ist, das dieses Gerät scheinbar kein Stereo-Input eines externen Instruments über Line zulässt, sonder nur Mono (symmetrisch/unsymmetrisch) was mich seeeeehr enttäuscht!!!! Hätte damit überhaupt nicht gerechnet, und nun ist die Rückgabezeit leider überschritten :/ Ausserdem habe ich mir dazu noch die falschen Kabel gekauft, da ich davon ausging mit einem Line-In Eingang würde stereo unsymmetrisch ankommen. Leider nein. Gerät ist für mich daher unbrauchbar.

verstehe nicht warum der so geliebt wird
Habe den Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen ca 3 Wochen verwendet und war eher enttäuscht. Es gibt kaum Anschlüsse und selbst mit Treiber und allem hatte ich öfters Aussetzer (musste in die Settings gehen, die Frequenz runterschrauben und wieder hochschrauben damit der Sound wieder normal wurde, weiß bis heute nicht warum). Ich habe mir dan ein Produkt von Behringer gekauft, ging ohne Probleme, günstiger, genau so guter klang, viel mehr Anschlüsse und der ging plug and play ohne Treiber, natürlich besser mit den Treibern. Finde in der Preisklasse gibt es besser Interfaces. Kompakt ist er aber das muss man ihm lassen.

Kleines Tonstudio für die Tasche
Ich habe das Interface nun seit einem halben Jahr. Beim auspacken war ich über das Gewicht und die Verarbeitung für das kleine Gerät sehr überrascht. Die Qualität äußerlich ist wirklich Top. Beim installieren hatte ich hier und da meine Problem, da dieses System sehr viel Auswahl bietet. Was wirklich sehr gut ist, man kann das Interface für verschiedene Aufnahmeprogramme verwenden. Somit ist es sehr flexibel. Von der Aufnahmequalität darf man kein Tonstudio erwarten aber man kann schon sehr klare und schöne Audiodateien damit erstellen, von denen man sich nicht verstecken muss. Ich habe es mit einem Yamaha Tyros 3, Gitarre mit Tonabnehmer von Yamaha und einem Kondensator Mikrofon getestet.

Als Soundkarte richtig gut
Ich habe dieses Audiointerface als Aufnahmegerät für mein E-Piano gekauft. Dafür ist es auch wunderbar zu gebrauchen. Was mich aber begeistert hat, ist die Soundqualität des Outputs. Ich habe in meinem gesamten Leben noch nie einen so klaren und räumlichen Klang aus einem Computer bekommen. Auch andere 100+€ Soundkarten konnten da nicht mithalten. Dies hat dazu geführt, dass ist das Gerät zwar ab und zu zum Aufnehmen benutze, es jedoch die meiste Zeit als Soundkarte für meinen Computer in Gebrauch ist :)
Kann ich definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Good value for money
My third Focusrite product, they always deliver decent quality at a reasonable price. This interface comes without any manual or SW, so you will have to download everything. It is not bad, just beware if you are going to be offline. For such a portable interface also I'd expect some kind of transport bag. I doubt you will find anything better in the price range, with proper ASIO drivers (not ASIO4ALL) and decent preamps.

Sehr gut für den Anfang
Ich hatte eigentlich nie Probleme damit, dass mir die Soundqualität von meinem PC nicht ausreicht, aber seitdem ich es habe, lässt sie die Lautstärke sehr bequem verstellen und wenn ich FL Studio benutzte, dann kann ich gleichzeitig den FL sound und den restlichen Desktop Audio Output hören, ohne immer in den Audiosettings von FL etwas umzustellen oder 2 Outputs benutzten zu müssen.
Es ist schön verarbeitet, fühlt sich hochwertig an und sieht gut aus.

Outstanding quality for a very affordable price
I got this interface as an addition to my home studio; I mainly use it to track bass and guitars. All I can really say is that I have no complaints whatsoever!
The design is very nice, the device itself feels very sturdy. The free software perks that are included are very nice as well. Focusrite provides several detailed instructional videos, so installation is also a walk in the park.
PROS:
- Beautiful and sturdy design;
- Easy to install, thanks to Focusrite's instructions;
CONS:
- I guess that a con for some people can be that you can only hook up one instrument and one microphone at the same time. For me this is no problem, since I'm only tracking one instrument at a time.

Way better than my previous Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Looks a lot better than the 2nd gen interfaces. The volume knob (all other knobs also) feel like they put much more quality in there. Does it sound better ? I don't know but I feel like the 3rd gen does and it's definitely louder (if you turn it up to full compared to the previous 2nd gen)
Didn't checked the air mode (for recording) yet.
