- + Тихо, быстро и недорого. Чесно скажу выбирал винт очень долго, перекопал кучу тестов, и в итоге оказалось что у данной модели по соотношению цена/качество+производительность конеурентов просто нет!

У меня 400Гб самсунг, который покупал как "тихий". Точно такой же шум, как описали двое ребят ниже - низкочастотная синусоидная вибрация. Надо сказать, что я заморочился на громкости системного блока - радиоторы на видеокарте и процессоре без вентиляторов, в корпусе - 2 120мм тихих низкооборотных кулера плюс блок питания термалтэйк что-то типа "green power cable select" с 160мм вентилятором. Еще стоит 150 Гб барракуда, которую не слышно.

- + Энергопотребление соответствует не скоростным винтам, а зеленым, низкая температура, высокая скорость чтения (147.8-72 M/c) за низкую цену.
- - Винт слишком редкий. Трудно найти тесты, а еще сложнее отзывы о Samsung HD103SJ.
(Хорошо что здесь нашел с такими же проблемами)
Есть заметная вибрация.
Шум не постоянный - пульсирующий, как гудки в телефонной трубке. Видимо samsung поставил крутые подшипники, тк он этим в винтах отличается.

- + У данной модели 2 блина, в отличие от его предшественников, 7200 оборотов и 32Mb. Греется умеренно до 34 градусов, 37 - под нагрузкой, что в общем неплохо. Цена- дёшево для терабайтника, даже подозрительно...
- - Есть вибрация, хотя если бы никто не сказал, так бы и не заметил.
Странно, этого диска почти нигде нет в продаже,...

- + Нет шума совершенно нет, как работает вообще не слышно но работает у нас сутками без выключения, как сам работаю в фирме где пк работают 24 часа.
Огромный + модель 2009 года так - что есть резон. Вот сейчас думает руководство брать 78 дисков.
Терабайт это не ШУТКИ. - - НЕТ.
Сегодня купили диск что сказать первый раз такой узрели не слышно вообще читает инфу идеально,...

I have had this hard drive (HD103SJ) running since mid November, 2010. It was not easy to pick a model when reading online reviews, because I could not find one that had a failure rate among reviewers that was low enough to inspire confidence. I settled on this one upon a recommendation from an acquaintance that had a SAMSUNG hard drive and upon online information from a computer store (Red Hill) in Australia, where I read the following: "SAMSUNG is justly famous for monitors and RAM production. In the old days when 250MB was a big drive, Samsung hard drives were very cheap, surprisingly fast, and notoriously unreliable. Modern Samsung drives are reasonably priced, perform well, and have earned an outstanding reputation for bulletproof reliability." This description seemed to have been written a few years before I read it, but it seemed recent enough to be taken into account when thinking about getting a new hard drive at the moment.This hard drive has worked without issues and no sector has gone bad, since I installed it. It is not as quiet as a 250GB MAXTOR that I have in the same computer, but it has a comfortable noise level, that is more noticeable during reading than writing. It's working temperature without a cooling fan is between 4 and 5 degrees Celsius lower than the MAXTOR hard drive. With a fan, it is about 2?C lower than the MAXTOR. I can not say anything about its speed, because I do not run anything on my PC where a slow or fast hard drive would make its speed noticeable to the user.I have kept this and the MAXTOR hard drive, cool with a THERMALRIGHT TY-140 fan since May, 2010. With this fan, the working temperature ranges between 24?C and 35?C depending on room temperature. You can read my review of this fan here on Amazon.com. I also, have it protected from electrical threats (i.e. spikes) with an UPS battery which is in turn connected to a voltage regulator.Update on February 02, 2013: This hard drive keeps working perfectly.

Snappy little drive. It does seem to make spin-up sounds on boot but then it quiets down, unlike a Seagate drive I have that makes a little click every few minutes and will probably fail soon. I use this as the main drive in my home theater PC and it's plenty fast. I thought about swapping this for an SSD as boot and this for storage but honestly it's fast enough for me. I try to keep background programs to a minimum for this computer and with a good chunk of RAM installed I don't find myself waiting for this to spin up and read during movies or games, and I play a lot of games. Dirt3, Skyrim, Minecraft (game and server) all run great off of it, not much time loading at all. If you're serious about speed, you'll need an SSD. If you're just looking for a nice drive with a lot of space, this is a great pick. I run Windows 7 x64 home with 8GB of RAM, if you use much less you might start seeing slow downs from swapping on and off the drive, but if you don't run many games you can probably get away with 4GB fine, but I wouldn't recommend less if this is your boot/install/swap space. Obviously this is a desktop drive (3.5 inch) so don't plan on putting this in a laptop or anything. Box is very bare-bones, exactly what you should expect with an OEM drive, and there really isn't anything else you need. Pop it in and go.

I use these in my Newer Voyager Q. It's a little FW800 drive toaster. So I'm constantly swapping drives in and out and I use them for video, photos, artwork, archives, etc. They're awesome and I've burned out countless drive enclosures and the drives always stay good - and they're always these Samsung drives. Love em.

this is a great mechanical drive. It is faster than average (look for reviews on tech sites), runs quite cool (I have a pretty crowded M-Atx case, no heat problems ever) and is pretty silent (the only annoying sound is the spin-up of the platters, but while in use it is near to unaudible). Right now it is my secondary drive (primary being a SSD) and because it will power-down most of the time I barely remember it's there.

I grew up buying Western Digital and Seagate, so I was hesitant to purchase Samsung, even though Samsung provides storage devices to MANY equipment manufacturers and stands as one of the top dogs in component supply. I bought 5 of these beasts to build a home NAS with raid-5 and FreeNAS to get about 3.7 TB of usable space for home entertainment. I now prefer Samsung drives and will only buy these when building machines.The price point is a little higher than the WD Caviar and Seagate Barracuda, but the quality may be a bit higher too. Not that I am no longer a fan of those two companies, nor do I just disregard anything they have to offer. But after I installed and configured these drives in a RAID-5 array, and tested basic I/O over an enterprise-class gigabit network, I consistently saturated the gigabit bandwidth (or near saturation at 110-112 MB/s), I realized that these drives are blisteringly fast. Granted, there are performance improvements in read rate in this RAID array, but not much improvement in writes. Technically, the 3.0 Gb/s SATA connection would suggest it could move data three times faster than this, but that's not only nearly impossible to reach in a desktop, 100+ MB/s is very difficult to achieve in a desktop as well.In short, while these Spinpoint F3 models have been retired, please consider Samsung storage devices when building a machine or replacing drives. I'm a 15-year Seagate veteran and I seriously may not go back. In fact, the only reason I might go back now and again will be a result of cost. Again...you pay what you get for, though.

I got four of these with a new system 14 months ago. I just finished doing an image rebuild of my windows 7 system because two drives went bad. My system started acting up last month and after downloading several tools, I found one that told me my drive had way to many faults and needed to be replaced. I must say, SMART worked quite well at masking the problem for many months apparently, doing its hidden remapping thing on the bad drive. I tried installing windows on one of the other four drives and after some time, it took but this was suspect too. I could see the install of windows going fast, then real slow, then fast, then real slow. Made me think again that this second drive had bad spots. After the windows re-install I had similar issues running from the second drive. I could not for example install new video drivers on the clean install of windows. After a couple of hours I scrapped the second drive too. The new install exhibited the same behavior as the old one. So I used windows backup to make an image copy of my windows 7 system from the first drive, placed on a third drive. Then I unplugged these two bad drives and rebooted into windows repair. I then used windows image restore to restore to the fourth drive. Flawless. Did not loose a thing. Of course I now have two useless drives with lots of errors on them, but I am very happy I choose to get four drives when I bought the system originally otherwise I'd be screwed.IN SHORT:The drives are inexpensive and fast enough. But two out of four drive failures in 14 months is a very bad record I think. I can't say this is typical, only that this is my experience with them. Perhapes what disgusts me the most is that I never actually used three of the four drives, so for drive #2 to also be too bad to use, means it came that way from the begining. What crap is that eh?Hail Flavius!

I purchased 2 of these back in September of 2011. As of July of 2012, both disks have significant uncorrectable errors and are unusable.Manufacturer's warranty is supposedly 1 year. Samsung/Seagate websites says they are out of warranty.I would beware of this seller and these drives. I have been completely unsuccessful at getting these bad disks RMA'd.

I replaced the hard drive in my 2 GHz Core 2 Duo 17" iMac with the Samsung Spinpoint 1 TB drive. The drive it replaced was an Apple-branded Western Digital 180 GB Caviar series. The Spinpoint has been up and running for a month and has performed very well so far.The original Western Digital drive it replaced somehow managed to be almost completely silent during operation. There was a slight whirring noise when it booted up, but after that, no noise at all. The Spinpoint is silent except when it is seeking, when it makes a muffled clunking sound.This is only noticeable in a quiet room. Taking into account that this model of iMac normally has no fan noise, it is likely that in most applications, you'll never hear the noise the Spinpoint drive makes.This is the first time I have not gone with a Western Digital drive. I hope that the Samsung Spinpoint has an equally long service life but only time will tell.The drive arrived in the well-designed, eco-friendly packaging as have the other drives I purchased from Amazon recently.

Still under warranty, but now I am dealing with Seagate not Samsung, as Samsung's Hard drive business, was sold to Seagate. Bought this drive for my first PC and it has been 3 months now and it works just as well as the day I got it. The drive is fast as advertised but it does make a little noise when its reading and writing. In the end it does what its suppose to do and its a great purchase if your looking for a quality hard drive.

Hard drive was great when I first got it, had a fast transfer rate and the written detail about the item was exactly what I got. But after 6 months of use, it already has the S.M.A.R.T. error trip and I have to replace the hard drive. Was hoping the fail rate to be a little bit longer but it is covered by Seagates warranty (since Samsung sold their HDD division to Seagate).

Length:: 2:00 MinsThis video is for the 2 hard drives that I received from amazon.com. They arrived thrown into a box with no type of protection. I contacted amazon and they gave me a pre-paid label to send them back and sent me replacement drives with next day shipping. The drives that I received the next day were in MUCH better shape. Amazon states these drives are only 16 MB cache but I have confirmed by checking the model number they are 32 MB cache. When the box arrived I also checked the box for this information and sure enough it was indeed 32 MB cache. These hard drives are great. They are quiet and very fast. At the end of the video I included some benchmark tests for these hard drives which I am running as 2 separate simple volume drives.

I snagged two of these before the prices jumped, but they're great drives. I've had failures on every other brand of hard drives, but Samsung's just keep going. I have two older 250GB Samsung's that have been through 3 different machines and they're still going great in this one. The new 1TB drives also perform really well, Serious Sam is loading off one of them faster than it loads from my buddy's SSD.

Recently bought the samsung drive after reading many reviews and finally making a choice. The drive arrived fairly fast from Amazon but when I opened the box found that the drive was inside the manufacturer's plastic packaging which would protect it from dust but otherwise just laying loose with a very small piece of bubble wrap that had deflated.Thought about sending it back at that point without even opening the manufacturer's packaging but needed the drive so decided to install it. So far the drive has been flawless, and will probably buy another one, just probably not from Amazon since they can't seem to figure out how to properly pack their boxes.

I have used 1 in all 3 of my computers in my house and have never had one issue with them. They are fast enough that the only people loading maps faster than me are the ones with SSD dives. I recommend this drive to anyone that asks me what they should get. I've had over 20 hard drives all name brands and this one takes the win by far! If your looking for a quiet and fast drive(faster than my old wd black, this thing avg speed is 118Mb/sec!) than this is the drive you should get.

I have tried untold hard drives of all brands over the years, and as far as I am concerned, this is the gold standard for 1TB drives. The F2 SATA 2 was tops in its day, and the F3 SATA 3 maintains that standard. If you balance out seek time,noise, heat, and dependability, you will find no better drive. The only thing missing is a 2TB version.

Very good compromise between price, storage capacity, and performance. You get 16.6GB/dollar which, while not the absolute highest if you compare to the Spinpoint F4 2TB, is very good considering that it has higher sequential average read/write speeds at 120MB/s against 100MB/s and it has noticeably lower access times, making it seem more responsive. It's very quiet; you can really only hear it when it's doing seeking operations. Temperatures are very low, as well. Copying 62GB of files to it, it only got to around 38C. This Hard Drive has been on the market for almost two years now, and it seems to be extremely reliable. If you don't need SSD performance or can wait until they get to lower GB/dollar, this is what you should go with.

As of 9/8/11 I received my package and it was packaged perfectly. It was two boxes deep with a cradle for the HDD inside the inner most box and to cushion it they had air bags inside the lining between the first and second box. I do not need to review the performance (as this drive is two years old and the reviews are always amazing for this thing) but I want to let other Amazonians know that this is SAFE TO ORDER!

I am a professional photographer that creates a large number of image files each year - 10 to 12TB. This is my go to hardrive for archiving and storage. I currently have 18 of these drives in my image management system. They have provided me with dependable performance over the last two years.

saw the other reviews on this and was a bit skeptical especially with the packaging. Its completely quiet and the packaging was 3 layers of protecting. Make sure to buy from amazon and not any third party sellers.

This hard drive is quick! Installed windows 7 in about 15 mins. Load times for booting up and opening programs are blazing fast now compared to my older 160gb 7200rpm drive. I'm very impressed with this drive and also very satisfied =)
