I loved that iron from the time I took it out of its box until its spectacular demise that ended with a circuit-breaker tripping 'POP'. THIS iron, even when on maximum steam settings, often has a 5 second lag before the steam starts. The steam is not consistent. The lag adds up when you are ironing a dozen shirts.
Not a terrible iron, but seconds after I took my previous Rowenta out of the box 10 years ago I knew I would have a Rowenta iron from then on. I have to say this one isn't much different than what I could buy for a third the price at the local discount store. Very disappointing.

It’s more cost efficient and needs less water as the other one... so that’s good... the Plug attaches amazingly well to the cord... a design that i have not seen before+++
Just make sure you keep all info... receipt, registration, etc. the Germans don’t like to give refunds or like to offer repair or replacement parts... so be prepared in case something goes wrong with it...
Its my third Roventa... if anything at all goes wrong and I don’t get their full support I will never trust this company again... so let’s hope 3 Times is the charm... I love the performance, but not in love with the company... that’s why only 4 stars

Two things:
1. This iron works fantastic HOWEVER it must always have water and steam must always be on for the job to perform as I expect for the price I paid.
2. My knuckles constantly hit the dial controls. I am trying to not let that happen by being more aware but it still happens occasionally.
Those two things being said I still love my iron but thought for the price I would get a great iron without having to always put water in it. Another small thing which isn't really a huge deal, the fabric instruction guide listed on the bottom is useless as you cannot read it with the shine of the font and the color of the background they put it on. At certain angles you cannot see it so I just stopped looking at it. All in all I'm happy with this product but wish I could get a good iron without water. BUT with water this thing performs beyond expectations and extremely fast so I WOULD purchase this item again. Keep in mind this is the 1st expensive iron I have ever owned. I had a $20 iron for about 15 years and just got tired of spending all day ironing so this iron definitely makes the job fast. Maybe you can't really get a good iron without steam, lol, what do I know. Like I said this is my 1st expensive iron. So in the end I'll deal with the "adding the water" all the time because it cuts my time more than in half and does great job!

It’s a good weight. Even full of water. Heavy enough to help you iron but doesn’t tire your arm.
Makes copious amounts of steam. You are able to control the steam. Several hundred steam holes cover the whole bottom. Don’t have to iron with the edge to get steam.
Clear easy instructions. Long cord. Would love the cord to be retractable but it’s worth losing that feature to not have it China made.
I love it ! No complaints.
It was delivered on Sunday which was nice because I had to wait for it before I could continue sewing.
Thank you Rowenta. Feels like a quality iron.

Ok, pretty sad now.... gotta go do same research I did a year ago for a great iron to replace what was the be-all-&-end-all. Thanks for nothing, Rowenta.
, add us to the people piling them to the trash after a year.... same problem where water started pouring out the bottom. This is not some $20 iron from target, for goodness sake, but the customer service reply was about what I would expect on something like that. Basically, “we could look at repairing it for about what you paid for the iron.” Really?! We don’t abuse the iron, we use it every day & maintain it appropriately, hence me biting the bullet & purchasing this “better” iron.... not impressed, Rowenta. Shame on you.

My only complaint is that it is easy to accidentally move the dial, making the iron much hotter (or cooler) then you need for the item you're ironing.

If you need a good iron (even though I try not to iron if I can avoid it) I would suggest you try this one.
