as a streamer, I started with the blue yeti...this rode procaster blows that mic out of the water. I cannot say enough about the quality of the mic both in your hand and when recording. Not having to run the mic through any programs to filter out garbage noise is a thing of beauty. The only reason more streamers aren't using this mic is the costs associated with switching to an xlr mic over usb. I have this mic connected to a focusrite scarlet 2i2 gen 2 and a cloud lifter. I highly recommend that setup. Great mic - great build - great purchase.

Dieses Mikrofon ist Perfekt für Leute geeignet die in Richtung Podcast gehen möchten.
Ich habe mitlerweile ca. 70 Podcasts mit dem Mikrofon aufgenommen, es hat einen sehr schönen warmen klang, ist NICHT auf Phantomspeissung angewiesen und ist sehr hochwertig gefertigt.
Es ist allerdings kein Mikrofon um Gesang oder ähnliches aufzunehmen. Als reines Sprecher Mikrofon macht es eine Super Figur

Die Verarbeitung ist spitze, es ist komplett aus Metall und fühlt sich sehr solide an.
Leider ist dies zugleich auch ein Nachteil: Es ist wirklich sehr schwer.
Es ist aber wichtig, auf eine geeignete Lagerung zu achten. Dafür eignet sich zum Beipiel die Rode PSM1, in der man den Rode Podcaster fest befestigen kann, sodass er nicht herausfallen kann, auch wenn man ihn fast horizontal ausrichtet.
Die Soundqualität ist einfach umwerfend, es hat schlicht kein Grundrauschen, nur mein (manchmal sehr lauter) Computerlüfter erschien manchmal in der Aufnahme. Das ist aber eine Frage des Setups.
Die Einrichtung ist sehr einfach und unkompliziert. Einfach anschließen, schon erscheint es als Audiogerät und man kann damit aufnehmen.
Der Monitoring-Output ist sehr genial, man hört sich tatsächlich ohne jegliche Verzögerung und kann aber auch über den Computer andere Sounds wie die Aufnahmen der anderen Podcast-Teilnehmer hinschicken.
Leider war es bei mir unter OS X 10.8 so, dass der Ausgangspegel nicht regelbar war, die Lautstärkensteuerung funktioniert schlicht nicht. Man muss also softwareseitig den Pegel regeln.
Ich kann das Rode Podcaster wirklich jedem empfehlen, der genug Platz auf dem Schreibtisch dafür hat oder gar ein Studio bzw. einen eigenen Raum für Aufnahmen.

He probado muchos, muchos micrófonos que prometían la Luna y no te llevaban ni al super de la esquina, ésto no ocurre con el Procaster, te promete la Luna y te la da, eso sí, si tienes una tarjeta de sonido que de la talla para llegar a esa calidad.
Mucha gente con la que hablaba por Discord vio el antes y después con varios micrófonos (neewer nw700, Yeti, snowball...) cuando me hice con el Procaster todo el mundo me decía lo mismo: "parece que me estás hablando desde un programa de radio".
Con una buena tarjeta de sonido o una mesa de mezclas decente este es tu micrófono, como dato, si la mesa de mezclas tiene efecto reverb la calidad de tu voz se dispara hasta el infinito.

The sound is buttery and rich; miles ahead of the $65 generic USB mic. I didn't realize how big a difference it would make!
This mic needs a pre-amp of some kind. If you just use a mixer, you need to turn the gain up quite far, so you'll need a decent mixer to make sure the signal is clean at those higher levels. (I'm using Behringer gear, and above about 75%, you start to hear unwanted line hiss. Installing a Cloudlifter fixed that problem. Whatever the case, this mic requires that you spend more heavily on the rest of your gear. Definitely the next level up from cheap beginner YouTubing, and you'll pay for it.
The Procaster has good sound rejection from the sides and rear. With the right adjustments and a less clacky keyboard, I find I can get rid of typing noises from the desk.
The mic, as others have indicated, is much heavier than your standard budget mic, so bear that in mind when working out your mounting solution.
I was about to get another two of these, (I have two condenser mics I was quite happy with in terms of sound quality, but they pick up everything from far away, from the other sides of walls, so dynamic mics are the answer.), but instead of dropping $600, I instead spent half that to get the next tier down; two Rode Podmics.
Judging by YouTube comparisons, they don't sound as nice out of box as the Procaster, but I'm hoping with some compression tricks and equalization, they'll serve. I also like that they have a slightly greater effective speaking range than the Procaster. When interviewing guests who are not necessarily trained in audio work, I want people to feel comfortable not being right on top of their mic.
But we'll see. If they don't work out as I hope, I'll return them and get another two of these Procasters.

The cheaper Podmics worked; they're nice little mics, and with compression and tweaking they do nearly sound as good.., but not quite. There's just something nagging at the edge. I ended up buying another Procaster and am very happy with that. An expensive experiment!

Muy buen micro con un "pero": da poquisima señal. Con el. previo de una mesa de mezclas o interfaz A/D para computadora no tendrás señal suficiente para grabar ni aún dando tope de ganancia en previo (lo qie además provocará saturación y efecto de sonido roto, bajito eso sí). Yo tengo un previo de miceo a válvulas y ni por esas. Comprar este micro supone comprar un dispositivo Fet Head que le de 27 a 30 dB más de ganancia sí o sí, lo que supone otros 60-80 euros más. Con esto y conectado al previo o al mezclador ya sí sacas el sonido que es nitido y bueno. Pero claro, el micro al final te sale por 60-80 euros más de su precio. En cuanto al micro, pues es elegante, robusto, pesado (compra un buen soporte también) y ell sonido es claro, nitido y cálido, para voz ideal. Al llevar antipop interno quita explosiones de "p" o "b" pero si añades un antipop externo mejor aún. Contento con él salvo el gasto adicional en el fet head.

Ich habe mehrere Mikrofone ausprobiert, bin vom Procaster restlos begeistert. Das Teil ist für die Ewigkeit gebaut, nicht umsonst gibt es von Rode 10 Jahre Garantie obendrauf. Die Klangqualität ist vom feinsten, allerdings kommt es hier meiner Meinung nach auch auf die Stimme an. Ich finde das der untere Mittenbereich ein wenig stärker ausgeprägt ist als bei anderen Mikrofonen sodass es sein kann, dass die Stimme dumpfer klingt. Aber das muss man ausprobieren bzw ggf. mit einem EQ nachregeln. Insgesamt benötigt man auch sehr viel Gain, dies sollte man vor dem Kauf berücksichtigen.

Pourquoi un produit aussi encombrant et aussi lourd s'il faut — en plus — rajouter une suspension externe payante ?? Mon vieux Sennheiser MD416 a une bien meilleure suspension de capsule !!
(–) Je m'attendais aussi — au regard de la longueur — à avoir la capsule suffisamment en retrait de la grille frontale (comme le SHURE SM7B) afin de ne pas avoir d'effet de proximité (grave excessifs). Il n'en n'est rien !! Donc, pourquoi une telle longueur si elle ne sert pas à des corrections acoustiques ?
(–) Enfin, l'unique mode de fixation par l'arrière du microphone (avec molette exclusive à RODE) est très limitatif.

• Il me semble que l'unique intérêt se situe dans le look (si vous voulez avoir un micro dynamique "imposant"). Si vous voulez "simplement" un bon micro dynamique pour la voix, il y a — à mon avis — d'excellentes alternatives moins coûteuses en dessous de 50 euros !

Die Qulität ist natürlich überragend & mehr muss ich dazu eigentlich auch nicht sagen. Super Ding! Kann man jedem empfehlen, der etwas aus seiner Stimme holen möchte. Ich habe das Mikrofon für YouTube und Twitch benutzt und war sehr zufrieden. Klare 5 Sterne.

To set the tone for this, The mics I've actually used are headset mics, the blue yeti, a cheap neewer condenser mic, and the MXL BCD 1.
I upgraded from the MXL BCD 1 to this mic.
For those who don't pay attention to microphone quality the differences between the two are subtle, that being said, You're getting a lot of subtle audio bliss out of this microphone.
I have not, and likely will not ever compare this mic to the likes of the RE 20, or the SM7b, however I feel like this mic belongs with those two in quality when it comes to dynamic mics. (personal opinion based on no facts)
Using this mic with a goxlr mini for streaming has been an absolute delight. I love the way the mic looks, and I love the way it sounds. No need for a cloud lifter or any of that other gain boosting hardware with this setup.
I upgraded from the MXL BCD 1 to this mic.
For those who don't pay attention to microphone quality the differences between the two are subtle, that being said, You're getting a lot of subtle audio bliss out of this microphone.
