Inferior product to the Phillips Vacuum trimmer
I have owned both the Phillips 7200 and after it petered out after 7 months of use (2 yr warranty), i figure this would be a more robust product (5 yr warranty).
The truth is I much prefer the old Phillips I had. The Remington vacuum trimmer only catches about 50% of the hair it cuts, whereas for the the Phillips it was closer to 80%
What people say about the very flimsy plastic guard is true, it bends very easily leading to an uneven shave, and it's downright scary to use around a mustache due to the fear of pressing too hard and cutting way too close. The Phillips vacuum trimmer had a very hard plastic piece that made it easy and consistent to shave.
The sliding mechanism to adjust the height is worthless due to the bendy plastic guard, but is also a little more hassle to get to the correct setting even if it had a usable guard. The Phillips vacuum trimmer uses a rotating dial which is easier to use and has more granular settings.
The Remington vacuum trimmer is much louder and has more vibration than the Phillips trimmer, and changes pitch constantly in an annoying fashion while cutting hair as if the motor were struggling.
So if anyone is reading this, consider the Phillips 7200 over this. I know it has a shorter warranty period and in my case, gave out in less than a year, but i'll admit i did not take care of it as well as i should have. I will be returning my Remington to re-buy the Phillips, and i'm sure with more delicate care (not running the vacuum under water, etc) it would last longer.

Guard bends easily resulting in really uneven beard length
I’ve had the last two generations of the Phillips vacuum trimmers and after the last one broke, I went for Remington.
Honestly, I expected a higher quality experience from Remington. The length guard is super cheap plastic and bends in toward the blade if you press with ANY amount of strength (like when you’re trying to get a hair that grows in an awkward position.) This results in huge variances in how long your beard is when you’re done. I basically have to leave this on the lowest setting possible which is not ideal. At all.
Battery life is better than Phillips. Vacuum basket is very easy to clean (just pops out from the front of the trimmer.)
The vacuum works like MAGIC. Way better than the Phillips. There is just a tiny dusting of hairs on the counter when I’m done and I’m an Italian, beardy guy. That’s the best part about this trimmer.

Terrible design
The adjustable comb's locking mechanism is a very bad design. The button to adjust the comb's length is on the back of the trimmer just below the head. The picture shows the green button next to my thumb. A simple press on the button releases the lock, which makes the comb move freely up or down. I accidentally pressed it with my thumb while trimming, and this made the comb collapse to the lowest setting. This left a section of my beard trimmed down almost to my skin, which ruined my beard.
I would give this model of trimmer ZERO stars if it were an option. I do NOT recommend this product!

Works...mostly
I purchased this to replace a Phillips vacuum trimmer I had for several years. Overall, the trimmer is a resounding MEH.
Pros - Trimming and vacuum functions work as expected
Neutral - Cleaning is fine. No complaints, but it did not wow me either. I have not used it enough to judge the battery life
Cons - The length comb is very bulky. It makes it impossible to adequately trim my upper lip near my nose. I have to rely on a separate trimmer to complete the job.
Pros - Trimming and vacuum functions work as expected

Great for stubble/trimming but not for shaving a full beard.
Excellent shaver for short stubble. I would never use this if you are shaving your beard though. With around 3-4 days of growth I have to empty the container at least once sometimes twice. If you have an actual beard you would be emptying it every swipe or so. The vacuum is amazing though. I’ve used it 6 times so far and have been super impressed with this version from the previous one I also own. Way less hair to clean up after which is phenomenal.

Awkward design, poor depth/height control
Nicely balanced. Great battery, feels solid. Nice vacuum feature. Quiet operation. Beard trimmer depth guide is incredibly poorly designed. Only one side attaches to trimmer body. The more you raise the guide for greater length of trimming, the less stable the guide is. Flexes easily meaning depth/height changes. In addition, the lock control to change adjustments is terrible. Hard to accurately move especially up for longer length. Final very poor design issue is it is nearly impossible to use the guide in a tight situation such as to trim mustache under your nose. I will say for just trimming the open face for sort length setting, it works great. I would just like to talk to the clean shaven engineer who designed this. The other strange thing is I’m replacing a decade or so old Remington trimmer MB-400 that is so far superior to this one—why did they ever discontinue it??

Useful trimmer that requires a bit of shifting pieces.
I bought this to supplement a Norelco beard trimmer with vacuum (which is no longer available - I left my working Norelco home so I bought this Remington for use on a trip). I'm pleased with the Remington, it trims beautifully. My only issues are with its design. I have to remove the plastic guide and blades in order to get to the vacuum container. That said, the vacuum on the Remington is much more effective than the Norelco - many fewer hairs escape the vacuum on the Remington. Another issue is that I have to change blades to detail my mustache edges (unlike on the Norelco) - but the edger works very well. So my bottom line is that this trimmer works very well but requires shifting around that the Norelco doesn't. I'd recommend it, though.

Well Designed Vacuum Trimmer!
I'm new to remington and sofar I'm really enjoying the switch. I used to be a Braun user but my disappointment with my Series 3 3040s was basically the nail in the coffin for Braun. The shaver worked but why do I need to make three or four passes to shave stubble? I mean come on. I used my Remington F8 foil shaver on a three day old beard and my God it chewed through it like my old Panasonic did! Basically cutting my shaving time in half!
Okay so enough rambling. On to this Remington MB6850 vacuum trimmer. Why did I want one? Because I get lazy. I let my beard grow out sometimes for weeks and well it gets to a point where I need to trim it up or take it all off. While my old Norelco 7200 vacuum trimmer did the job, but cleaning that trimmer was a nightmare. Hair would get packed INSIDE the actual cutter head! It would get so packed in there that I'd have to take it apart (the cutting head isn't supposed to be taken apart). This was a must to prevent the cutting heads movement from being hampered by hair getting stuck inside it. As for cleaning out the rest of the Norelco 7200 that was easy enough.
This Remington MB6850 on the other hand is a whole different design. Its basically a traditional trimmer with a vacuum portion at the cutting blades. It's simple and it works! Hair DOESN'T get stuck inside the head and instead it gets sucked into the canister. This vacuum trimmer also comes with large and small trimmer heads. Thank you Remington for not being cheap! As for cleaning, the head comes off like it would a hair clipper, you just pull up on the blades edge and the head comes off. The canister comes off by pressing both release buttons in at the same time and then heres the cool part. The filter mesh is on a little hinge that flips up! This makes cleaning very easy since everything is now open. Assembly is a two second process. Using this as a trimmer for my beard and side burns has been an absolute pleasure. It's just easy to use. The adjustable comb is simple. Just push the green button and move it up or down. Nothing complicated there. Someone else complained about pressing that button while your trimming. I've found that holding the trimmer with your hand chocked up so high that you push the combs release button makes it basically impossible to use. When held normally this trimmer is like any other trimmer albeit with some added bulk for the vacuum part.
So all in all this is probably the best vacuum trimmer I've used sofar. Before this the old Norelco T980 was my favorite but that model has long since been discontinued for about seven years. Now Norelco chooses style over function which isn't smart. Remington chooses function first then style. That's smart and a better design approach. I fully recommend the Remington MB6850. It's a great trimmer that's designed with ease of maintenance in mind and designed well enough that I feel it'll last a good while.
