Time and time again I've been running or exercising for extensive periods only to find it's given me a wildly inaccurate HR or none at all. It's incredibly frustrating to find that a significant portion of your fitness hasn't been tracked of has been tracked inaccurately and therefore you can't track your long term progress accurately (after implementing all the recommended techniques for usage to ensure accurate HR and fitness monitoring). I've experimented by using it alongside accurate gym treadmill HR trackers and/or other branded sports watches on the other arm and the difference is immense. It also needs to be above 20% battery or it becomes even more inaccurate. This goes the same for if it's internal memory is reasonably full then it'll again fail to track anything reliably.
Not worth the money, infuriating, unreliable. All you want is decent, reliable data tracking from a sports watch and this fails on all accounts. Spend a little extra, pay for another brand and see how you get on with them, I for one won't be returning to Polar.
Informative, does what I need it to do without glitches and technical issues I’ve previously had with garmin.
Love the look of it too. There are quite a few settings on the watch to track your steps, sleep, breathing, HR and options to help you train. Not used all of them yet but easy enough to use.
Overall I would recommend the product.
Nice looking timepiece and the data on the watch itself is very good. Has certainly inspired me to exercise more. This was kind of the point in getting it.
Sleep tracking also useful to aid recovery. Used the information to assist with rest and improve sleep. Polar app provides decent information.
The wrist HR technology isn’t good enough. It just doesn’t work accurately. I gave it a month and the HR monitoring was upto 40 bpm out when compared to a HR10 chest strap, a garmin or surprisingly my wife’s wrist Fitbit. These were all within 4-5% of each other. At one stage when climbing a hill my HR was 40 short of the accurate which was dangerous and fell to 35-40 when it was in fact 85-90. As watch for everyday use I should not have to be thinking about its position on my wrist continually. Disappointed as I say. Love the app, love the gym hardware compatibility. Don’t live the fact I started to worry about my low heart rate and when in the higher zones I was actually pushing way to hard (unsafely) due to inaccurate readings. Sorry Polar, this isn’t ready yet.
