Does NOT play any record even records I had for some time and they never played before.
Is a waist of money. This is the west item I bought in my life. Simpy does not functioning. I wish
I could grade this with 0 since it does Not play anything apart from hearing scratches even with
my new records which are in perfect condition. X. X.

My mother can't move the needle and place it on the LP as she can't see it, but this player as a automatic play button that solve that issue for her and gave her the freedom to listen to any long play when ever she wants.

I am happy enough with deck. It plays my records which is enough. I was disappointed reading technical reviews that suggested I'd notice a better sound if I listened to music played on a second hand older (better built) deck.

I read other reviews and decided to choose it in preference to pricier models from Denon and Rega because I wanted something to plug into my new Yamaha midi system rather than a true hifi model.
This turntable has a phono stage, so I did not need to buy a preamp. However, as the aux in on my Yamaha is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack, I bought a Y cable and female adaptor to convert the red / white stereo output back to a single input.
I am delighted with this turntable. I am using it to play my expanding record collection of 60s, 70s and 80s music. I particularly appreciate the auto-cueing mechanism which means I never have to touch the record arm. The turntable speed adjustment / indicator is also very useful.

Needed to buy a turntable that was compatible with our Bose cd player as we still wanted to play our records too. Good quality. Only thing against it was that it hasn't got a usb socket so we can't download recording from our records. Use it all the time as our records sound so much better now.

Purchased as a Christmas present for 18 year old granddaughter. Certainly transaction was easy, delivery prompt. She was very happy and played through a lot of her vinyl collection immediately, did notice however that it was very sensitive to room vibrations - more so than turntables I used years ago, however tiny bit of blu-tack on pick up seems to work

I put this together with the Pioneer A-10-K 50W stereo Amplifier and sounds great and even looks the part as well the deck even has got handy push buttons on it so you don't have to touch the record arm at all how fab is that brilliant record deck well pleased.

If you are looking for a new record player (turntable) to play those old 45s on for me you can't buy a better one than this Pioneer PL-990 turntable, it's got an inbuilt amp so you can plug it in to your stereo system, and the sound quality is exquisite

Having owned Technics this is just as good. Easy to assemble. Looks great and plays my records like a dream. Couldn't be happier. And great price too. Delivery and packaging excellent. Definitely recommend.

Когда я пытался играть в нее, стало втиснут между подлокотник и поднял левом углу проигрывателя и не будет вращаться.<БР />

This review is about the product manufactured by Pioneer. It in know way reflects the excellent service of the retail outlet 'Hughes Direct' they were helpful and very efficient.
The Pioneer PL-990 was well packaged. I unwrapped it carefully and followed the set up instructions. I was disappointed when the turntable did not respond to the start button and would not turn. I tried a few times to get it going but owing to the light make up of the machine I was concerned that I might damage it if I persisted, so I gave up, carefully re packaged it and sent it back at no expense to myself I might add.
I would conclude that this turntable is over priced as it is made of cheap plastic and probably not very enduring. However, Hughes Direct are very helpful and I would buy alternative products from them in the future.

I ordered this item "used" as it was the most cost effective way of having this turntable shipped to me in France (the postage on new items was VERY expensive). The turntable was delivered in a matter of days with effective tracking, and I was delighted to find that although it was described as "used - as new" it was in fact brand new. Great so far......
As far as the actual turntable is concerned, the build quality is very good (maybe the platter is a little lightweight), the setup procedure very easy, and the reproduction quality is excellent. The fact that is has built-in preamps makes it very easy to connect as just about all amplifiers have "aux" inputs but not all have "phono/RIAA" inputs (I realise many audiophiles will not agree but then this review is aimed at people who just want a reasonable cost turntable). After years of listening to CDs on my Onkyo system (with Celestion Ditton 25 speakers) I was taken back in time with the warm quality of music the turntable produced.
If I was to be very picky, the only areas I would identify for possible improvement would be that the cartridge could be better quality (but is more than adequate for the price) and the output leads could be longer (or supplied from rear female connectors as opposed to flying leads).
Overall, very satisfied and in my opinion hard to beat for the price.

I bought this for my wife to play her late fathers' vinyl collection at home. We plug it in through her cd hi-fi and the sound is amazing.
Don't buy the connection cables as suggested as these come supplied.

I bought this for my daughter, she is 13, so I didn't want to spend a mint. Performs well, with good sound, also very easy to set up. At the moment she is using it with a RCA to minijack connecter into a good pair of computer speakers with bass unit, as another reviewer suggested. This works fine in the short term, will want to upgrade to proper amp / speakers at some point.
I paid £129 for this and think that is reasonable for the build / quality.
f you are a hifi buff though, you will be disappointed with the auto play feature, its great for my daughter, I did not want the better quality Rega for her where she had to lift the platter to change the band to change the speed or a Project audio where the band is round the edge of the platter and the counterweight might fall off any time, which are the turntables which are in similar / next price range.
I paid £129 for this and think that is reasonable for the build / quality.

Even after buying a splitter and getting Professional technical advice this system still played my Vinyl very distorted.The turntable looked good with my Pioneer Stacking system but like i said my vinyl was all distorted.Shame but i have returned this item.
