Malfunction.

On set up, I hadn't put paper in yet, paper jam message on menu screen, would not clear I tried many times that day. I boxed it back up returned to Amazon. That was in mid June, where is my refund to my payment source.

Printer itself is good

It came early. I love that. But i purchased this reading that it comes with almost everything i needed except paper. Amyways it was missing the starter cartridge and the starter drum.

This printer has printed well for me so far. I've only had it less than a month and not a lot of printing, but what I have done has been perfect. I was tired of buying inkjet cartridges just to dry up from my sporadic printing. I decided on a monochrome printer because I rarely needed color printing. This printer has done what I wanted.

The install CD could not be recognized by my laptop, so I contacted CS chat and they helped me get the right driver & recommended a video to watch to help. I do wish there was a manual, or more detailed instructions. But once installed, it connected easily with my printer via wifi, and even from my phone.

It came with a 700 page toner cartridge to start. So far, very good.

I would buy this again.

The printer scanner itself is great. It might be hard to configure if you don't configure wireless printers/scanners every so often. Not good for beginners or the inept. They should stick to HP or Brother. Wile it is not as seamless an installation as HP but it does work if you have some knack and are persistent. Interesting use of a start button to scan or print two sides of the page. In other words, for the money you should be happy with the device once you get it configured. ADF works very well and separates even fairly large stacks of papers to scan. Inexpensive to operate and paper print quality and scanning quality are both good.

(Note: For this review, I am going to compare it to my HP LaserJet M227fdw which I bought for about 200 dollars.)
I bought this printer to replace my grandmas inkjet printer. I was going to go with HP, but the model I wanted was not available in my price range of 130 dollars.
So I then set it up. Setup was a pain software wise. The web console is very basic and connecting it to WiFi is sorta hard. But I got it connected. I then ran some test prints. Text wise, I could not tell a difference between the text test pages I printed on the Pantum and my HP. But when it comes to image quality, the Pantum fails. Don’t take my word for it, look at the pictures.
So the image quality sucks, but it is a mono laser printer that will be used for printing and copying text documents.
A few more things:
- You can only buy Pantum Toner cartridges online. You won't find them at the office store.
- There are no aftermarket Toner cartridges available.

Bottom line:
Its a cheep laser printer from a Chinese company. The overall quality of the printer is quite meh, along with the print quality which is also meh. But it gets the job done. However, if you can, I'd recommend buying a laser printer made by a name brand like HP or Brother if you can.

I love this printer when it’s working but 50% or more of the time it isn’t. Took awhile but I installed connecting and running driver from disk. Finally everything worked- WiFi from laptop, iPhone and iPad. I was even able to scan from mobile app on my iPhone. Then lost everything. Hooked up laptop again and I was able to WiFi print, but not scan. I couldn’t even scan manually- error “no USB comm no Resp”. Why would I need USB when I’m pushing scan on the printer? Now I can’t even print via WiFi. I’ve connected my laptop three times. Doesn’t make sense. I’ll try again to hopefully be able to print. Very very disappointed ☹️
PS at first I didn’t want sleep mode because I had a printer but it would shut down after a few hours and need to be turned on manually - when this printer is working it will start up when printing

I was very disappointed in my last color/b&w ink jet printer. The manufacturer's had made their printers malfunction upon refilling their cartridges. Their new cartridges were too expensive. And I decided that I rarely used the color. After researching B&W laser printers on Amazon I bought the Pantum M6552NW. It has more features than I need, easy to use, and easy to set up. The price is very good (for $20.00 more there an excellent Pantum printer). Their replacement cartridge is less than the ink jet cartridges and last 3 times longer.
As I just bought the Pantum printer I have no opinion of their tech support or how long the unit will perform well.

The instructions are garbage. They did help me setup so I could print from my phone but I had a hell of a time getting my Laptop & Desktop to talk to the printer.

What worked: First, download & install driver from Pantum website. Then I logged into my AT&T router and I went to devices, (had to use the special access password. NOT the wifi password) and I went to printer and used menu to go to Settings > Network Settings > WPS PIN Mode and used that PIN on the wifi router to allow access. Then I went to Ubuntu's Printer> Add New Printer and it showed up as a detected network printer. I selected the printer and then selected the driver from the dropdown menu.

When I received the printer and pulled it out of the box, I couldn't believe that there was no owners
manual. All there was is a fold-out diagram that was in 2 or 3 languages but didn't give you trouble
shooting, or detailed info on hooking up the printer and connecting the wifi etc. The printer is ok
but I'm just use to buying something that walks a person through it verses driving you nuts! Right now I
have it hard wired just so I can print things. So I'm not getting much use out of it right now.

I purchased this printer in August. This printer has never worked right, and the return window has closed. It always has problems with changing out cartridges. Continual message that says, "No Cartridge". Despite all troubleshooting attempts, this time I have not been able to resolve the NO CARTRIDGE message. At first I thought the cartridges were defective, so I returned them and with each new cartridge inserted, I keep getting the NO CARTRIDGE message. Turns out, it's a common problem with Pantum printers. I'm getting rid of this printer and switching to a more reliable and proven brand. Pantum is a brand from China. You get what you pay for and this product is no exception! DO NOT BUY!!!!

I am updating my review, it definitely took me some time to get this thing to connect and to do the drivers was difficult since I have many devices of all sorts that connect to it. I appreciate what Pantum is doing in trying to take out the monopoly of printer giants that overcharge for cartridges and provide an acceptable alternative. It is a B&W laser printer with good features just rough installation.

This comes with a disc you have to use to setup the printer. When I connected it to my laptop without the disc setup it does not recognize it as a printer. I was only able to setup for WiFi use, connecting to computer but computer see the device but does not see it as a printer. Odd. Cannot find customer service info anywhere besides Amazon question and answers.

It's been more than six months after I bought this printer. I had a Samsung 310 color printer long ago, then the color messes up after I bought a set of cartridges. I bought a Brother Compact Monochrome Laser Printer HLL2390DW, which died after 500 days though with very light use (disposed a few weeks ago, shouldn've kept the cartridge). I needed the printer/scanner function so I switched to this printer. So far so good. The printing quality seems fine. I didn't bother to use the built in wifi function since you need to switch on and off, and my desktop didn't have a wifi card. I first used a USB cable to connect which worked fine. After I reconfigured the home network and moved my workstation to another room, I just plugged it in the router with a ethernet cable. All I need to do was delete the printer and add it again. Everything works out fine. It's actually much better this way, as everybody can print directly to the printer. I haven't run out the cartridge yet. Just checked out that a new cartridge is not cheap, but comparable to Brother and possibly other brands. The scanner also works fine. No complaints so far. I will certainly come back with updates.

The printer is well worth the money. As a college student I print a lot of paper, and having to rely on traditional printers wasn’t cutting it. I was so tired of buying $60 ink cartridges that would run out after a few prints. I sure wasn’t about to buy a multi-hundred dollar dedicated office printer so I needed to find a happy medium. This printer takes a minute to set up and it’s wireless ability to print is functional but could be improved on with ease of use. The printer itself is has phenomenal value for its performance. It prints several pages very quickly and without jamming or having faded text. It is a very seamless printer and I would recommend this one over any of the other mainstream brands because the toner for those ones are astronomically priced. This printer does everything in black and white but it performs very well at all its functions. I would definitely recommend it.

The customer service is very helpful, but it does not work as "AirPrinter" with iPhone XS.
This is the response from the customer service:
"in Phone, it need to change the e-mail to image, word or PDF, then you can print it. "

I've had this printer for just a few months. We got it to take with us for weekend off site work because it was small and portable. It can only make one copy at a time--you just have to keep pushing start. There's no way to increase the number of copies that you get. Also, if you print more than 15 pages at one time, the rollers inside get hot and cause the paper to jam. The paper jams are extremely hard to get out--currently there is paper stuck in the printer and, without a screw driver, it's just staying there. When it scans pdf, for some reason, it makes the files VERY large--like 1 page document over 1 MB! It does have good print quality. But, it's not worth it.

I tried multiple ways to install this printer. Originally purchased it for it's wireless capabilities, which are non-existent at this time. There is a possibility that I may need to update my router. To that end, I have one on the way and once it is installed I will re-install the printer and see if it works then. Currently I am unable to print even with the USB connected to my laptop. Super annoying. The test page prints properly after following installation instructions, but when cords are removed it's like it doesn't exist. Stay tuned for further updates once the new router arrives.

Very sad, as the print quality is great on the test page!

Easy to connect to computer. Very fast copier. Good print. When paper somehow gets jammed machine spits out crumpled paper without causing the normal jam I encountered in other printers. I haven’t used the scan yet but assume it will be just as easy. I use it mostly for home but I believe it would be a very good printer for most small businesses . Haven’t had to use technical support yet so can’t comment on it.

Works great for us. Our first laser printer. Easy install. Only problem I had was selecting the wrong quick install method.
I selected the one for a cable connected install instead of wifi. Started over, selected the wifi quick install and all was good. Prints from phone and laptop like a champ, and much easier than our HP.

I am not the brightest tech bulb, but I am not stupid. I am ready to throw this printer away. Configuring the wireless scanning is amazingly cryptic and configuring wireless printing is only ever so slightly better. Do not buy this printer.

The printer works great. I have not used the copy/scanner yet. Some parts are light plastic. I wont let kids use it as I dont want them to break the paper feed or plastic holder where paper comes out. Otherwise it seems to work well. Clear printing and easy to set up.

I was hopeful this would work for us but it constantly goes into energy save mode and then won’t print until you hit the button. As a business I have my front desk set up by WiFi and having to run back and forth from office to front desk is quite a pain.

This printer is just what I was looking for! One of the few I found that fit on my 15" wide stand, with room to spare. I love the single large ink cartridge it comes with, which was a snap to install. This printer is way more quiet, and faster than my Epson Work Force, and seems well made. I also appreciate the pop out control panel, which makes viewing much easier. I have not set up the wifi feature, and may not, so I can't speak to that. The scanner works great! I am very happy with this purchase!

Was an easy install with the cd and prints and scans very easily - super fast an unlike the brother doesn't keep falling asleep so that's actually a plus for me. What else could you ask for?

Are the refills any cheaper for the ink tho?

We have never heard of this brand before, but so far after 3 months it has been a great printer. The setup was a little bit of a pain. The directions say to run a network cord from the router to the printer as part of the setup, but I was to lazy and was hoping to just add my WiFi password and find a work around. Nope, I couldn't get it to work until I followed the directions and used the network cable. It's probably some Chinese spy trick to hack my WiFi?
Anyways, looking past that the printer has been great. I like that I can look up something on my phone and print it if I want. My wife and kids print the most and after 3 months the starter cartridge is still working.

This is a workhorse of a printer. The b & w cartridges last a long time. My first Pantum lasted 38 months & was affordable. So when it went to printer heaven, I got another one.
It’s for my home office.

The printer overall is fine, a little slow, but does the job. The ink cartridge however is the most frustrating thing I have ever had to deal with. Not only can you only order a new one from their website or Amazon, but the moment it hits 1,600 pages it stops, no passing go, no maybe you can get a few more prints out of it, just nothing. I was able to get it to print a test page, which printed beautifully, but nothing else. If you do not pay attention to the indicator level you will be out a least a week before a new cartridge can be mailed to you. It should at least keep printing until the actual cartridge is out and not just a paper count. It's just a waste of ink!

The printer works well with either cable or wireless from multiple sources. However, the scanner is suck and does not work at all when you want to export the files. The driver installation is very tricky especially when you are using company laptop with VPN. When installing the scanner driver to the personal macbook, it requested to upgrade the whole operating system in order to have an embedded feature in iTune. Overall, if you want to also use the scanner, this is not the one.

Everything good but the WiFi on this suck. It work when I install it and when I turn off my PC for a while. It doesn't work wifi anymore after I turn my PC back on. I have to reinstall driver all the time to use wifi. I just use the cable but what the point when you can't even use it anywhere you like. It's decent but wouldn't buy it again.

It's one glitch after another. Every two or three months i have to call the company and troubleshoot or reinstall drivers. It is a complete and total waste of my time. when it works, it does print very well, but i dont have time for this. i have had this printer since sept 2019, and i have had to call the company 3 times now and getting ready to call them again. I have two laptops and neither will connect to the wifi on this printer. it is the only wifi product in my home that i have trouble with. never again.

I initially was excited for this product because it has everything I was looking for but when I received it. It didn’t work. I was so disappointed but it is wise it is. Plus it’s a pain to set up this printer also. They should make it easier to set up.

My only con is not being able to hook it up to the Wi-Fi, but that's user error I'm sure. Prints very fast and it does exactly what I want it to do. Added a laminator to my collection and my foil cards are coming out fantastic. Very happy with my purchase!

Took a chance on this Chinese brand after having unsolvable print troubles with an HP5055. Unlike the HP, this works perfectly the moment I plugged it into my iMac. The print is clean. No more inkjet clogging junk for me.
