Panasonic KX-TGF575S Link2Cell Bluetooth Cordless Phone with Voice Assist to replace a Panasonic set that is four years old and starting to make crackling sounds for the caller and on the receiving end. I read the reviews, the specs and was really hopeful that the phone would be an upgrade from the older phone.

The setup was very easy, the features are nice but the sound quality is horrific! With volume on as high as it will go all that can be heard is a whisper. When placed on speaker the sound is as if using a tin can with a string attached. Can just barely make out that anyone is speaking, have to hold the hand set up to the ear to be able to hear the caller. What's the point of a speaker phone if you have to hold it to your ear to hear it? It is slightly louder doing that than when on conventional use of the handset when not on speaker.

Setting up features was preset. All you have to do is charge the batteries for 12 hours, input to your phone book if you wish, and set up answering machine if you want a personal call message. We use our phone service provider answering service rather than the phone. Try as we may, we can not get the volume of this phone system up high enough to be heard. Feel like smacking it as you would a newborn baby to get it to speak up!

I fear this wasn't a great purchase and will be going back. One good thing; we found out that the old Panasonic phone set can be hooked up at the same time this new Panasonic system is hooked up. All phones work, so if you were wanting a 10-12 phone setup you could do it with Panasonic.

I had an older version of these cordless phones and was having a few issues after about 10 years of use, so decided to upgrade. Boy am I glad I did! What a huge difference.
I run a small business out of my home. I used to get 12 - 15 telemarketer calls every day despite being on the No Call Registry and having Nomorobo. I started using the call block feature on these phones and it is amazing. I don't know what it does to discourage telemarketers but I only get 1 - 2 calls per day from the sneaky telemarketers that use the local area code. I filtered many of those out now with the call block feature. I now have some peace in my day again. Buy these. They are worth the price just for the call block feature alone.

I bought this 4-phone KX-TGF574S Panasonic phone system to replace my 9 year-old KX-TG6544 phone system. There was nothing wrong with the old phone. It worked just fine after 9 years of fail-free operation. So why buy a new system?

I bet many of you are like me in that I get far too many damned robo-dialed "spam" phone calls. They drive me crazy! And because I am a Comcast phone subscriber, I use their NoMoRobo to cut down on the spam calls, but NoMoRobo has one fault (not of their making): there is always ONE ring that comes through before NoMoRobo hangs up on them. You'll be in bed trying to sleep and here comes one ring to jar you out of your dreams, and then ... the ringing stops. GRRRRRR.....!

The one-ring problem is no one's fault because of the way CallerID works. When a phone call reaches your home, the digital CallerID information does not arrive until AFTER the first ring. That's just the way CallerID works. Thus, no one, or no one machine, knows who is calling until AFTER that first ring. Therefore, NoMoRobo cannot do anything until after that first ring is finished, which is why you always get one ring before NoMoRobo can step in and react. For that matter, NO smart phone system can react and hang up on someone until AFTER that first ring. Blame it on CallerID and nothing else!

All of this got me to wondering "there HAS to be someone who understands this issue and who makes a phone system that lets you disable the first ring of all of your calls." If you had a phone like that, then you would be home free. The first ring still arrives at the phone, but the phone itself suppresses that first ring (while allowing all subsequent rings). But by this time, NoMoRobo has had a chance to assess "friend or foe" and hang up if it's a "foe" that is in their database. What this means is no more of those highly-annoying one-ring phone calls that disrupt your tranquil life.

After doing a little research, I found that ALL Panasonic phones these days have incorporated this feature! Hot damn, I said, and I settled on this particular KX-TGF574S model only because it looks pretty much like the old system, but is updated a little bit including this new one-ring-disable feature. I don't care about any of the other features. All I want is to eliminate the annoying spam phone calls!

To enable this feature, turn to page 36 of the instruction manual in the "Call Block" subsection. Here's the short story:

MENU --> SETTINGS --> CALL BLOCK --> ONE RING FOR BLOCKED CALL --> select NO.

For some odd reason, "no" means "do not allow the phone to ring on the first ring tone." It's a bit counter-intuitive to me, but that's the way it is. Save this setting, then hit the phone's OFF button. After this, the first ring will never be heard (although you WILL see all of the phone's LCD screens light up when the call comes in, just no sound). And if NoMoRobo is working and detects that the number is a spam call, it automatically hangs up on them. That kills all subsequent ringing, meaning your phone will not sound whatsoever for that one call. Problem (almost) solved!

Unfortunately, NoMoRobo is an imperfect system. Robo calls still make it past their system if the spoofed phone number is not in their database. I have found that the calls that usually make it past them are ones that have the same prefix as my own. For instance, if my phone number were 123-456-7890, then a call with the prefix of 123-456 usually gets past them. But there are others that escape them. I just had one this morning from allegedly a part of the state where I know no one. So what to do?

This is where the second useful feature of the Panasonic phone system comes in handy, especially if you do not have access to NoMoRobo to help you out, but it takes a bit of effort on your part to incorporate. The phone has the ability to store 3,000 phone numbers if you are willing to take the time to enter the information of people you WANT to hear from. It consumes a fair amount of time because you're stuck entering NAME and PHONE NUMBER on the numerical keyboard, no easy ting to do. (It's the same way cellphone texting USED to be!) BUT, if you're willing to do it, then you should. What you do this, you are creating a WHITE LIST. That is, "these are people I WANT to accept calls from." Family, friends, doctors, etc. You COULD use the phone's BLACK LIST feature, but this is a fruitless endeavor because the phone's ability to store blacklisted numbers is very limited, 250 numbers maximum. Phone spammers chew through bogus phone numbers far faster than you can enter them in your phone and overflow its storage capabilities. Black listing never works, but the white lists do!

Here's the key thing to do: enter all of the names and numbers of people you want to hear from in the phone. I made something like 50 entries like this, and it probably took me 2 hours to do (I'm very slow at alphanumerical texting). For each person/number you enter, make sure you assign them to a single "group." I chose Group 4, but it's arbitrary. Group 4 is as good as any. I then re-named Group 4 as "White List" but you don't need to do that. I just did it to make it obvious what Group 4 is used for on my phone.

Now for the secret sauce: once that's all done, then you have the ability to assign a different ring tone to that group, one that is different that the phone's default ring tone. The Panasonic phone offers a lot of goofy ring tones that are quite distinctive. Chose one and assign it to your white-listed people (Group 4 for me).

Once you have done that, then whenever your phone rings because the spoofed number got past your NoMoRobo filter, if that number is in your white list, the people you WANT to hear from, your phone will ring with the distinctive ringtone that you just assigned above. No longer do you have to get up to SEE who is calling by reading the phone's caller ID information on the LCD screen. No, you can let your EARS do the filtering rather than your EYES! When you hear that distinctive ring, you know to get up and answer the phone!

I still get mad as hell at the idiots who get through my spam filtering system and want to personally hang up on them (like that will do any good). Thus, when I do get the now-very-infrequent spam call, I recognize it by the standard ringtone and quickly get up to get to the phone. I do a fast check of the CallerID information on the screen, which usually says it's from some part of the country that is unknown to me, and quickly hit the CALL BLOCK button. The phone then gives me the menu option "Block call?" Choose YES, and the phone then hangs up on the call while also storing that (bogus) number in its blocked call memory. Now if they call back again using that number, as they often do, the phone will automatically hang up on them and you won't ever know what happened! I.e., you won't hear the phone ring at all, as intended. Of course, your phone's blocked call memory bank will eventually fill up. When that happens, you select the ERASE command to clear all the numbers, hoping that by now those blocked numbers are no longer being used, as is often the case.

After doing all of that, my house has been much quieter. I used to get 2-5 spam calls a day. Since I got this Panasonic system about 4 weeks ago and created my white list in it, I have had only 5 spam calls. It is not a perfect solution, but I finally feel like I have control over my phone system again.

Sorry to take so long describing all of this, but I'm sure that many of you will want to know how to cut down on your spam calls. This is my way of doing it.

Works as described! Handles our VOIP landline and two cell phones nicely. Highly recommended.

We really like the large font and lighted screen on the display (old eyes!). Also the audio announce of the callerId, though I wish there was a way to limit the number of times the audio is repeated (basically repeats on every ring, which gets old if you can't grab the phone right away).

This system replaces an earlier model pf the Panasonic DECT 6, which also performed well for several years and now is doing the same for someone else.

Phone is good but very irritating " Low Battery" alert in female voice kept me awake many nights. The alert is useful but should not activate in middle of the night. First time my family got scared as one of the handset was in other room and some lady started talking ;) Finally I found a way to turn it off. There should be a setup where it should not alert during night time.

The worst phone we've ever had. I simply wouldn't believe that this Panasonic phone set was causing all the noise and static we heard on every call. Had the phone company come out to try and fix my house lines about ten times. Each repairman would tell me "its the phones, not the house wiring or service." Well after fooling around with these crappy Panasonic phones for almost nine months, I decided to at least try another phone system. Don't get me wrong, we have used Panasonic exclusively for a decade or two, but those days are long gone. Went with a set from AT&T and problem has been solved. It was the phones all this time. What a disgrace and what a rip-off. I can't get my money back, but maybe I can help someone else not to get ripped off.

We had an older model Panasonic that was getting outdated. It could only block 30 calls and with all the robocalls we get nearly every day we needed the ability to block more calls. This phone is great in it's ability to block many calls but that is about it as far as our needs. The CONS: 1) The battery is very short lived and only about 20% of our old phone. We are constantly getting the alert "low Battery" and needing to recharge. Our older Panasonic phone lasted easily a week on charge but with this phone it barely lasts a day. 2) The speaker phone is useless. It is very difficult to hear people and the caller has a hard time hearing us on speaker phone despite volume turned to high. We never experienced this problem with the older Panasonic model. If these features are important to you I would not purchase this phone. In this case newer is NOT better!

Reading the reviews of this model, one would think it's hopelessly complicated to set up and use. Yes, there are lots of options and those options result in complexity. Fortunately there are built-in menus, and virtually all of the settings can be accessed from the menus if one takes the time. Some settings are buried and best changed by going to the manual and entering the associated codes. If the manual's lost, it can be quickly downloaded from the Panasonic site in just a few seconds. What I would love to see is a cordless phone that lets you use its Bluetooth connection to use your smartphone to change all the settings using an app, but I'm aware of no cordless phone make or model that does that. However, settings are something one alters only once in general - and once set, their ease of setting has a negligible effect on daily use of the phone.

If you do nothing more than plug your phone into a phone line and a power outlet, you'll have a highly capable phone that will set itself up automatically with the proper date and time, and which will answer calls after the fourth ring with a generic greeting to leave a message. If you're happy with that, you need do nothing more. I like that Panasonic has gone to using standard rechargeable AAA batteries, which are included and otherwise readily available. Finding replacements is trivial, but the included batteries usually last years. Linking to a cell phone is no more difficult than pairing any two Bluetooth devices, but it still works well with a land line for those of us who still use one.

The call block function works beautifully and Panasonic has added a dedicated button on every handset. On getting a spam call, simply press the button and confirm, and you'll never get a call from that number again. That feature alone is worth upgrading your phone. Call quality is very good and call volume is easily adjusted. Call waiting works well, with the second caller's number clearly displayed with caller ID. Spoken caller ID - as with previous models - can be a bit annoying and sometimes humorous in the way it tries to pronounce things, but the feature is useful when you're not near a phone.

The one complaint, which is not unique to this phone, is what happens when there is interference. Some other reviews have touched on poor call quality as an issue, but we've found the call quality itself to be nearly perfect. The problem is that we live in a high-rise apartment building with thousands of tenants around us. At any time there are about two dozen Wi-Fi networks within range, and our wireless mice and keyboards occasionally cease to function due to all the RF interference. Although it's not common, we sometimes lose the connection during a call; most often with the person at the other end being unable to hear us. Simply turning around can affect call quality. The spread spectrum digital transmission method used by Panasonic goes a long way toward alleviating call problems - and there really has been a significant improvement over early cordless models - but in the age of extensive mesh Wi-Fi networks for the home, you'd think Panasonic could improve on the good old cordless phone. Maybe it really is time to stop using landlines.

I wanted to love this. Link to my cell and land line? Link to bluetooth headphone? Answering machine? Google assistant voice activation? This phone incorporates some fantastic ideas. Alas, I tried the base unit it in 3 different locations in my home and I just couldn't get decent sound quality. Although callers told me they could hear me well, I heard tons of pinging and banging and echoing. It was distracting and, ultimately, a no-go for me (I returned it). The trouble shooting guide in the manual said that you shouldn't locate the base unit near large metal objects. OK. My first location was next to the fridge, so I moved it. Second location was next to a large flat screen TV. But I was running out of options because that's where the land line phone jacks are (and there aren't that many), and the line to connect to them is not that long. Perhaps I could have gone and bought a longer one. But then there were these considerations, most of which other reviewers have also noted: the handsets feel cheap and light, they cannot be held between neck and shoulder, they do not have particularly good ergonomics they seem to be designed more to fit into the box than to be comfortable to use), the speaker phone from the handsets is not that loud, and the phone is not particularly attractive to look at (IMO). I still have (and use) my 7- or 8-year old Panasonic cordless so had something to compare these new ones against - the old are far better. Nicer weight, balance and shape. In addition to voice recognition with Google didnt seem to be that good though I didnt spend a lot of time using it. Amazon and Panasonic: you need to get Alexa-enabled. Oy..... dont know where to go from here. Voice activation is clearly the wave of the future and I dont now who else is making anything better. Ideas anyone?

Beware that the list of cell phones compatible with Link2Cell is not very large! I have had this phone for nearly a year and the voice quality with a Bluetooth attachment to my cell phones is garbled and sounds like people are under water. Checking with Panasonic they tell me that my cell phones (Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG K20 V) are not compatible. Pointing me to the compatibility list, I found that only a few phone models are listed. I.e. they will not help, fix or replace the phone.

10/2018 update: Panasonic replaced this phone for no charge, other than shipping it to them (kudos to Panasonic since it was well out of warranty). Unfortunately, the new phone produces the same garbled sound on bluetooth as the first one. Si IK think we can conclude that this model has problems with its bluetooth implementation.

I bought this phone in September. By November one of the charging bases stopped charging one of the handsets. I tried to get in touch with Panasonic and got a response that I would have to hold on the line for someone to pick up the phone for over 20 minutes. Then the automated system informed me that I would be charged over $9 for the privilege. I tried to inform Panasonic over chat about the problem and every time I entered my information it just deleted the information and made me refill in the information grids only to have it happen again. Product support stinks. The base charger should not have given out in less than 2 months and it is terrible support for the phone if they want to charge you to fix a problem you shouldn't have in the first place. I will try snail mail and see if I can get anywhere, but let the buyer beware, Panasonic is not customer friendly.

This is the fourth Panasonic Cordless phone I have owned. My first was 20 years ago and the prior one less than ten years ago. Its not subjective the handset speakerphone volume is too low to be usable in anything but a quiet setting or a good connection with loud audio. It needs to be all the way up to be usable realistically. Disappointed everything seems fine otherwise so far but will update. I have very significant audio knowledge I design and test electronics, not user error or as I said subjective.
Panasonic if you can please give me a diagnostic entry to increase the gain to the handset speakerphone speaker. If that's all it has then you can state that. I am aware Panasonic monitors these reviews.

We didn't know that our internet provider was the culprit that caused the distorted on our phones and decided to replace them, although they had been working perfectly, except for the necessity of battery replacements (not very often). After we learned that the fault for the distorted sound was Morris Broadband, we weren't sorry that we replaced our phones. We like these better. We like the fact that call blocking is not limited to 20 numbers, as was the case with our previous models, and it is very easy to block a call. What we miss is the blinking light telling us that there's a voicemail. We have not used the connection to our cellphone feature. Can't remark on battery life because we haven't had this set long enough.

I tend to prefer using a land-line at home because the audio quality is usually better... well, I just replaced an older, dying Panasonic phone with this one. The audio quality in the older phone was much better. This one is worse than a cell. Also, there's a sharp edge that goes around the face of the handsets. When holding the phone to your ear, it can be painful. The older phone had a rounded edge and was much more comfortable.

The last thing I don't like about this phone is that you can't delete messages from the handsets. You can listen to them but not delete them. To do that you have to go to the base station. What a pain.

Is there anything good about this phone? Well, I suppose it works. It can make calls... it has several handsets for different rooms... but none of that really matters because I don't want to use this phone for the reasons above.

I bought this phone system for the Link2Cell feature. We are planning on dropping the landline phone service but still wanted portable phones throughout the house so that calls could be taken if our cell phone was in another location in the house. The feature worked well for a day or so but I noticed that if my wife left the house with her phone, when she returned her cell phone didn’t pair with the Link2Cell system. I removed the L2C device listing under the Bluetooth settings on her phone and re-paired it to the Panasonic Link2Cell phone system again. Overnight her phone came unpaired again and once again wouldn’t pair with the Panasonic phone base without removing the device from the Bluetooth settings and then re-pairing it again. I’m having the same issue with my phone now as well. My iPhone 6sPlus and my wife’s is an iPhone 6s. Neither of our iPhones have ever had any Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity issues in the past. My wife and I are both retired and while at home we are within 15’ to 20’ of the Panasonic base unit. We can be sitting at the breakfast table 5’ from the base and loose connectivity with the phone system.
I don’t know if this is a problem with the Bluetooth radio in the Panasonic base unit on my particular system or this is the weak link of this model phone system, but with my experience from this Panasonic DECT Link2Cell phone system, I would not recommend it if you are looking for a home phone system to use with your cell phones.
It is too unreliable to maintain connectivity or to pair back up with your cell phones when you return within range of the home phones base unit.

As for the other features of this phone, the call block feature does work and so far works well. The call announcement feature is a joke. The pronunciation of names is awful and, most part, are hard to understand.
Talking on the phone is clear on all but one phone that is staticky. This handset is furthest away and on another floor but the DECT phone it replaced didn’t have any issues.
I also wish there were more ringtones to choose from.

Update on Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth Phone System.
04-13-2020
Been using this system now for 7 months and can’t change my initial rating.
Since my initial review I have replaced my iPhone 6s+ with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The problem with loosing Bluetooth connectivity improved a little but was still sporadic at best. When answering a cell call on the Panasonic Link2cell phone there was a slight echo noted by the caller but was tolerable.
There’s been no change in the Bluetooth connectivity issues with my wife’s iPhone 6s.
One of the pros on this phone is if you pair 2 phones like we do the Panasonic Link 2 Cell will use the same ring tone as that cellphone uses. Of course you must have a different ringtone on each cellphone.
I also love the caller block function on the Panasonic System.
As for the one extension that was furthest away from the base and just couldn’t make it work in that location, I moved it to another room and am relying on another older phone system to fill that void in my home office.
I was hoping for a reliable portable phone system that paired with our cellphones and would allow us to do away with our landline.
This just isn’t that phone system! (0^0)

My old base station got hit by lightning but the hand sets units are compatible with the new system so I now have a phone in every room of our house and on the patio as well. Since we are elderly with health problems, it is very important to have a phone close at hand. It's hard to run for the phone with a walker. I also like the intercom feature.

Update 8 27 2019: Been using these awhile, The batteries go dead in only two days when off the chargers. Constantly have to change phones because of "low battery" voice. Voice is very annoying at 2 am, then 3am, then 4 am etc. Hourly until you get up and change phones.

I've had these only 2 days, but have noticed that the volume compared to my older Panasonic , is only half. I'm slightly hard of hearing (or so other people tell me), but these are hard to hear ring at the remotes and the person talking is about 1/2 as loud. Would return them but the reviews on the amplified phones say the clarity is bad. So I either keep these at a soft, but clear volume or get a louder volume but muffled sound. I'll keep these for a year or two and then if my hearing gets worse, I'll re-shop for a better phone. Got them on Prime day so about $30 savings. I needed the 250 call blocks with answering machine which really works well on these.
Update: 8 6 2019 Because you can add ANY detect 6.0 handsets, I added my older Amplified handsets (2). They can answer, talk, dial out, see phonebook. They cannot speed dial or block (because they are from 2016 and do not match up perfectly. To block I just pick up one of the newer ones and block it. Using the older amplified I can hear perfectly.

It'll transmit a great cell phone signal to the panasonic all over your house. Make sure the cell phone is within usable distance via bluetooth to the Panasonic Link to cell feature. This is my second version of these phones. Prior set wore out from old age. As I had it about 10 years or so, I was fine with that, and happy to stay with the same brand / model.
This phone has all the features you would expect, including call blocking (but that's not where the robo-call killer is), crystal clear sound, long operation on a battery charge, etc. You are probably figuring out the call-blocker isn'y working so well any more as the robo-callers are now using a different phone number every time they call you. That renders your call-block useless.
The really big deal is a combination of two features. One is that you can put your friends / family / business contacts into groups, each with a distinct ring. And the other really big deal is the do-not-disturb function. I have mine set to start at 1:30PM, and end and 1:29PM. So basically, my phone is always in do-not-disturb mode. And... I set the groups (family / friends / etc) to ring even during do not disturb periods. So people that i know and are in my call-groups will still ring my phone just like normal. But Robo-callers don't ring the phone and they never leave a message because they mostly know you won't call them back. So they can change their calling number all they want and it still won't ring my phone. If someone I need to communicate with does call me and they are not in one of my ring-through groups, they will normally leave a message and I can add them into one of your groups later if I want. These two features have saved my sanity. I NEVER get disturbed by Robo-calls any more. This alone makes this phone a must-buy!
PS: I don't use the cell-phone or blue-tooth functions, so cannot comment on how well those work.

Connecting devices and adjusting settings are all wildly complicated and unworkable on this device. While I was able to successfully pair an iPhone X, and the Link2Cell actually worked, other problems made it unusable. My biggest complaint is that pairing the system to a Bluetooth headset requires a device PIN, which is an out of date mode and not an option for either Apple AirPods or Jabra headsets (I tried both). The Panasonic is unable to “discover” available devices and so I could not get the headset to work which was a very important feature for me. Online support is non-existent.
My other complaint is that in general the entire menu settings interaction is worse that bad tech from two decades ago. It is basically the same hierarchical menu design that you would find on an automated voice system, and we all know how much fun those are! Here’s an example of how that plays out: by default, the phone system speaks caller ID. If you want to turn that annoying chatty robot voice off, you have navigate through about 10 steps on the base unit to set it to “off.” But wait, you’re not done. You now have to repeat that 10 step dance on every handset because they seem to have minds of their own. But wait, you’re still not done! You’ve only turned off chatty caller ID for the landline. Talking caller ID still happens for incoming cell calls. To turn that off, you now have to navigate through an even more complicated set of menus and yep, you guessed it, you have to do it on the base station and on all the handsets. Whew. Even after all of that effort, I have one handset that refuses to accept this simple request and will not shut up.
I am sending the whole system back to returns! Bottom line, so long as you just want a cordless phone it’s fine. But maybe you could save a little money and buy a cheaper model without the bluetooth which is just not ready for prime time.

The phone itself is very nice. My intended use however was for Bluetooth connectivity for myself own purely. The iPhone latest models eight and X both exhibited severe echoing with this model and with the earlier Panasonic I had. This was not a problem when we use the iPhone 7 earlier I don’t know what has happened but ultimately you cannot live with the echo that other people find when they speak with you on this model.

i agree with all the positive reviews regarding the performance of the phones, but i had to down grade the review due to my perceived view of the weak performance of the batteries. i have been purchasing panasonic cordless phones for over 20 years now, and i recently upgraded to this model. i like everything about it except the batteries.

the batteries run out of juice very quickly compared to the last sets of panasonic phones that i have owned. if you keep your handsets in the cradle all the time, then this wont matter to you. however, if you carry your handset around most of the time (as i do) then you will see that you go back to the cradle to recharge the phone much more often.

also, just a small, but the low battery warning seens to go off when there is still a lot of life left in the batteries..they might want to recalibrate that low battery warning.

Phones work great! Make sure your batteries are fresh or you may have a problem with the connection breaking up. I used the old batteries out of my old phone. Two of the phones were breaking up when trying to talk on them. I replaced the batteries with a new set that came with the phones & the problem was solved! I also bought an extra handset to make 6 in total & the phone extender just in case. The wife likes to take the phone with her when working in the backyard or when visiting the next door neighbor.

I had my doubts reading only the one and two star feedbacks, but all of the landlines seemed too pathetic to purchase. I had to replace my old Uniden because even new batteries would not hold a charge so I took a chance on this (trying desperately to overlook the price and opted for an extra receiver) and I was very pleasantly surprised. First, I'm lazy so when the box came (which was my only negative because it wasn't in an unmarked box and if someone wanted this they could easily see, from the street, what this was on my porch and steal it), I took it inside for a look see. Pretty straightforward, the receivers need included batteries and need to be plugged in - done! Then, the base, hooked it up on the wall which I couldn't do with my old Uniden so, I'm getting happier. Batteries in and charging. So, I look at the handhelds and start pushing the buttons that are clear what they do and I was able to adjust the ring and noise cancellation later after I made my first call. So, then I got more interested and found where to hook up the cell. I got to the part where it said to pair, went to my cell, put it on pair - DONE! Just that fast. I called myself and it worked perfectly. I called someone and had them call me and it worked perfectly. Then, I went to sent the time and date and found one glitch and had to pick up the "quick" manual. Found that two arrows pointing at each other was a "star" (who knewww). Set! If I do nothing else at this point - like block a call - I'm good until I die. After reading the quick guide I could see where some found the extra two codes to do other stuff, but I'm as happy as I was with my new Android phone when I tried to figure out what it could do and still haven't found all the features. So, I'm good. Tomorrow, I may even leave a message for others to hear on the phone (but, do I really need people to hear, "leave a message because I'm not there". That could signal others to stop in knowing I'm not home......So, there you go. I really like this phone. I got a call on my cell (that I rarely check at home and get so much grief from because I don't attach it to my hip) and I picked up the receiver next to the lounge chair and wallah, spoke to someone who said I hadn't returned their text. Duh! Glad I took a chance on this. Now, if I can find a good wireless thermometer station (trying going through those tidbits of feedback)........L8R

We have used the Panasonic Cordless systems for years. This latest upgrade is a godsend. With all of the Robo-calls and Spam-callers/Telemarketers, our old system, with only a 50 number capacity, required a lot of input to keep up. This system, with a 2000 number storage capacity, has made blocking these clowns a breeze. I highly recommend it to anyone with a "junk" caller problem. Besides that, speaker clarity is great, the screen read-out offers large, easy-to-read fonts; the speaker phone works great; the phone book(s) capacity is way more than we've needed so far; and the multiple phone books and cellphone matching eliminates the frantic hunt for our cellphones when one is heard ringing elsewhere in the house. The automatic "Eco-Mode" battery tending is a nice feature, too. You can just leave the handsets in their cradle/charger all the time without fear of limiting battery life.

As soon as we receive our replacement phones we'll return these. The talk, sp, off buttons too small and difficult to use for older hands. The volume goes to 7 but compared to our 10yr. old Panasonic set that is about a 3 which is very low and difficult to hear. We could barely hear on talk mode and even speaker phone was low and a bit choppy. Calls were constantly dropped and if we had a second call no notification. We missed a call from hospital. Our old phones we could leave off charge for 3 days - these needed charged every 3-4 hours. When battery showed at half mark dropped calls were frequent. We had to turn the phone sometimes so people could hear us. Call block is good.

Sound quality is great. a world better then the comparable but tired Panasonic set it replaced. Love the CALL BLOCK button.
I use hearing aids for near normal hearing and the loudness of the phone on speaker is adequate at max in a quiet room but I'd love to have the sound a bit louder at times and that is not available.
The following may be generic to all wireless phone sets, but if one is on the phone, there is no provision for an incoming caller to record a message. I contacted Panasonic, was told for that capability I would have to use my carrier (COMCAST) and it's either their unit or COMCAST, no way to use both. I chose COMCAST out of necessity as I use my phone in Census work so people responding to me need to be able to leave a message if I'm on the line with someone else. But how I'd love to be able to switch back and forth. . .
Overall I still give this set 5 stars as so much about it is just right.

I love this phone! I have used Panasonic phones for the last twenty years but I have never been excited about a phone system until I purchased a Link2Cell. The thought of having to type in my contact list was one of the main reasons I waited until my old system died to upgrade. You can find cheaper home phones than Panasonic, but these high quality phones last a decade or more. Since I was going to upgrade, I decided to get the latest tech and found this Link2Cell phone system on Amazon.

The number one reason I love it is that I could easily import my 100+ contact list with the push of a button. The second reason I love it is that there is a dedicated "call block" button. If I answer the phone only to discover that it is a robocall, I can push call block and it is automatically added to my blocked numbers list. The blocked numbers list holds 250 numbers! Yea! Plus it can block extensions for scam calls.

This phone essentially gives you a second or third phone line without paying your phone company extra. Once you have paired your cell phone, you can answer and make phone calls from your cell phone using this Panasonic system and you can make phone calls using your home/main phone number. You can pair two cell phones to the system, which is great for couples.

My previous Panasonic had a light flashing on the top of the handset when the answering machine recorded a caller message. This unit just tell you, in the handset, that there is a "New message" but no flashing light or other indicator. The base unit does have a red flashing lite. Don't know why Panasonic deviated from this. There may be something in Setup.

I also love the 250 Call Block button on the handset. Beats using the provider's Call Block, that usually has a limited (Cox has a *60 with 30 entries). Just push the button. Another thing, the voice that announces the call (caller ID) is squeaky and would be nice if the user could choose from a few other tones. My other was way better.

The problems were:

Ringer and caller I.D. sound were ridiculously loud. When I made a call, (at the highest volume)the person at the other end sounded low and garbled. He complained to me that at his end, it sounded like I was shouting at him.

I returned the phone.

Bought this to replace another Panasonic cordless phone system. Unfortunately, this newer version is just awful. The range is very weak and calls drop with great frequency. Both the sound quality and volume control are poor. At maximum volume calls are just barely audible, and the sound quality out of both the ear speakers and speakerphones is marginal. This set was a very good deal on Prime Day, but I have already ordered a different sent from another manufacturer and plan to return this one. Coincidentally, another member of our family bought the same set and had exactly the same experience. That set was returned as well. Save yourself time and money and buy something else.

I wanted a phone system that had easy to read large lettering as well as large numbers and a large screen. This phone system has numbers that are large enough and a well lit screen that is large enough, but the lettering on the buttons is so tiny that I literally need a magnifying glass. The backlighting of the buttons does not help in reading lettering on the button. So I am left wondering if the button says Intercom or Speaker, etc. The system does block calls easily, and that was a main reason I got it, but I lost the easy reading of the phones in doing so. I thought I researched thoroughly before buying, but apparently not enough. More and more, I am learning that there are some things you just need to buy in a store.

You can't delete messages from the phones. You can't save messages as NEW, so if somebody has called for my wife I have to remember to have her check the messages. To block a caller after the "person" has already called, there's about 4 or 5 steps you have to go through. Panasonic did a piss poor job thinking about the human interface. You can't stop the phone from ringing even though I know it's a robocall. I have to wait for the phone to start recording before I can block the call. There's only about 250 #'s you can block. I'm really disappointed.

Additionally, the phones blow through their batteries and you have to rechard every few days. I need to go back to buying from Best Buy for electronics, this is third or fourth item I've been disappointed about from Amazon.

I was looking specifically for a cordless Phone that had the best volume, especially on the speaker phone. I like using the speaker phone because it bugs me having the phone on my ear. Sure, I could use a headset, but that’s too much work every time I’m on the phone.

Aside from some really good features, it wasn’t the phone for me.
So, I sent it back and bought the Panasonic Amplified cordless phone.

Big difference in sound. I’m only 1/2 way on the volume when I’m on speaker phone. There is another way you can get even more clarity is the “Tone” button on the side of the phone. I haven’t tried this feature yet. I’m interested in how the sound will be.

This was a big mistake, the audio is terrible. I believe it sounds good on the other end, but kind of makes a terrible
vibration or screech noise. The noise as you talk is hard to describe. I want to send this back, but we tossed the box the next day. Who would have thought it would be a piece of junk. Someone used it the other day and said, I'll use the cell because something is wrong with your phone. I'm so upset I threw the box out, I need to buy another because this one is going in the trash, I won't even offer it to my neighbor. I'll bite the bullet so to speak.
I know dam well Panasonic knows of this problem and is just trying to dump this garbage. It pisses me off that Amazon is also familiar when products are no good, they don't care because they still make money.

Everything this product describes works - except there is a requirement for a landline in order for the answering machine feature to work. Saying there is an answering machine is deceptive since there is no such feature if the landline does not exist. I gave up the landline and wanted to replace my aging Panasonic phones with a newer set of wireless handsets. To my amazement, the absence of the landline means zero calls get recorded when the number of rings ends and the call is terminated. I suppose the assumption is that my cell phone provider would handle such messages, but when the current system hangs up - no trace of who called nor message available. Where can one find such a feature -phone system with answering machine and no landline required or involved?
