The I300 is no longer supported by Oregon Scientific. I bought mine 2 yrs ago. Periodically OS stopped sending multi-day forecast info. I would call them and they would tell me to do a hard reset, or reload the PC OS software. It still would not work. Then they would tell me they had trouble with the servers that sends the forecast info. (The Wx data is broadcast over the internet to your PC then your PC sends it wireless to the I300). Mine stopped working over a week ago (early Oct 2012). Its still not working. I guess its time to look at the LaCrosse equipment and dump this one.
Update: My I300 stopped working during the Fed Govt shutdown. I guess most of the NOAA web sites were shut down as well.

Does all that it say. My only problem being ...living in Norway there is not enough sun to work the solar batteries....but hey! Summer is coming

This thing is great at telling the time and the indoor temp, but it has a hard time reading the sensor for the outdoor temp, which is the whole reason why I bought this.
I'll be returning it and spending a little more money on something that actually works.

The product does not have any humidity display. In the announcement page it is clear "...Monitor your Indoor/Outdoor temperature and humidity with the included wireless sensor...". I was tricked! I have noticed this too late to return the item! Well, if you don't mind about the humidity measurements it is a good product.

I am also having problem with the outdoor sensor, it works only when it wants and I leave in Brazil, so not even freezing temperatures. I dont recommend this product.

I really don't understand why the 3 previous reviews are rating this product so poorly...
I wanted an hygrometer, preferably digital and also with a thermometer. I saw some possible products at around $10, but for less than $20 I got:
- digital thermometer and hygrometer which seem reliable enough;
- pressure sensor (only used to assess current weather - sunny/cloudy/rainy/etc - there's no pressure value reading);
- an extra wireless sensor for outside temperature;
- display of weather forecast for 5 days, for 5 cities.
I really just cared about the the temperature and humidity readings inside the house, which would work regardless of the computer software. Since my wife's computer has Windows XP I guessed there wouldn't be any problems with the software either.
The fact is that i tried it in my computer which has WINDOWS 7 and IT WORKS. I didn't even try to use the included CD, I got the latest version from the manufacturer's website and it works in Windows7, without disabling UAC and without running the software in XP compatibility mode.
The software and all the sensors took quite some time to get along, but the manual clearly says it can take around 30 minutes to get everything synchronized.
The manual also says the frequency used is 433 MHz and that might be an important information to put in the product features section, so possible interferences can be checked.
The product features section on this product page also mentions "wireless thermometer, OS I600, THGN800 sensor, IH800 USB port"; I checked with Ambient Weather and Oregon Scientific before I bought and what you get is of course the OS I300, along with IH300 USB hub and THN800 sensor (which is temperature only, not humidity). On the other hand the required batteries (3xAA and 2xAAA) are included, which isn't mentioned anywhere.
Overall, for the price range I had in mind, I got a much better product than I expected to find. For the list price of $99.99 I wouldn't buy it though.

Received this product as a Christmas gift. Poor documentation, no support, and an expensive replacement for a simple thermometer. First and last Oregon "scientific(?)" product for me. If you are serious, look elsewhere. Will "regift" it to the landfill as soon as it is a "forgotten" gift.

I love this system. Easy to set-up and easy to charge. The first day I had it sitting on the window ledge to catch some fresh sun rays, but after the initial charge it uses ambient light (from even my room lamp) to get its charge. Getting it to synch up with the World Time Clock took it over night to do it. I know plenty of impatent people will complain about it not synching up right away, but a few of my clocks took it over night.
There are three distinct time / date / day displays that you can choose to be displayed at the bottom row, but it will not allow you to see both the time and date at the same time. I have it set to display HH:MM Dd. The display is large enough for me to read from about 5 feet away. So when I wake up in the morning, I can read the temp / time. Logically, I would assume that you would want to see the indoor temp first and using the largest font, but this is set up to display the outdoor temp first, indoor temp second.
It has a back light function is set on the top, but on the back half of the clock. Its completely flush, so I have a hard time actually activating the back light to view it in the dark. Normally the back light / snooze is set slightly higher to activate it, but this button sits at an awkward position.
Its pretty accurate as I measured it against a stand along a Honeywell (TM005). It off by about 0.5 degrees from the Honeywell in both indoor / outdoor temp, so its good enough for just a regular Joe to get an understanding of the temp. The weather predictor (image display) is pretty useful and somewhat accurate. I would have rather opted out that display for a humidity indicator instead. What...no HUMIDITY?? From the product description, it says that it provides the following: Weather Forecasting, Indoor/Outdoor temperature and humidity. Well, unfortunately it doesn't provide humidity.

Loved the design of this item especially the detachable solar panel; however, ended-up returning item due to outdoor temperature not displaying properly. For extended periods the main unit displayed a dash-dash (--) reading for outdoor temp. This item was used in north Florida so temps, while around freezing, were not terribly extreme. Sensor was set under a back porch and beside a glass door with main unit just inside so distance/obstruction should not have been a problem.
I called Oregon Scientific to see if they could recommend a remedy as it seemed random as to when/if outdoor temp would display or not. They suggested putting outdoor sensor by a glass window or door (already done) and changing alkaline batteries (which were supplied) with Lithium (which I bought for an additional $10) as Lithium should not freeze as easily.
Doing all the things recommended, the unit still randomly displayed outdoor temp which was the main reason for purchasing item so it was returned.

I had a feeling this was not the best "weather station" around, but it is just useless! I cant make it work the way it is supposed to in any way. I have spent almost two days trying to get it show me the weather on one place (any where in the world), but no way. Another funny funny thing is that it makes my wireless doorbell play all kind off funny songs! I was scared as s.... the first time, but soon found out they are using the same frequency !

The thermometer itself works well enough although seems quite slow to update. The purpose of buying this product over any other thermometer, however, is for the ability to chart temperatures on the pc; and the software simply doesn't work. When attempting to display the readings, it generates a runtime error and crashes. Attempting an install on a separate pc results in the application not launching at all with an error that the side-by-side configuration is corrupt. Both pc's otherwise run without a hitch, just not this software.

Excellent clock and indoor/outdoor temp. However, the product features on Amazon list indoor and outdoor humidity. The RMR331 does NOT monitor humidity, or at least I have not figured out how. I was interested in humidity when I bought this unit. I will keep it, but was disappointed in the lack of correct features.

Fast reading we use this unite in our cigar shop inside walk in humidor and inside cigar lockers about 90 feet away
We love it and I am buying another unite just like it for our second location, relative humidity and temperature are very critical in our business.

We had some trouble getting the thing to work in the first place. had to uninstall a couple of times with our Windows XP computer, and then had to resent the remote device a couple of times.
but then, we upgraded to Windows 7 and the thing doesn't work at all. They say it cannot be compatible with Windows 7. Needless to say, we are not pleased. They didn't see Windows 7 coming?????
